We really enjoy the game and have been on a ship for years burying treasures around the globe. Unfortunately, when we travel and/or our GPS has issues we end up being blocked. Last time we had to write them 3 times before they unblocked us, and now we are blocked again. We had traveled and had returned home when we opened the game and was blocked again. Probably because our GPS had not readjusted to our location as we were not on WiFi. We dont understand why they havent fixed this and why it takes so long to be unblocked. Please help resolve this.
Ive been playing this for a long time. 6+ years. Maybe 7. Lost track. That alone says what we think of it. Our wife plays, our grandkids play. Ive gotten to see LOTS of backroads Id have never seen otherwise. Easy to play, always plenty to help online. GET IT.
It sounded like geocaching which is way better and if you want to treasure hunt, then geocaching is the best scavenger hunt. This game has no treasure.
Ive been playing TQ for almost a year now and we love it. Its a great way to get outdoors and to travel around the world to find new collections that you never knew existed. The system is cool, the displays of the overall game are amazing, and the satisfaction for finding a new treasure is exhilarating! We travel frequently and Ive always saved up a lot of treasures to put them all in an exotic place that Im sure nobody will find. The problem is that it takes so long to drop 100 treasures, and the amount of time to drop a few thousand is exhausting! Please, implement an option where you can drop all of your current treasures or a certain number, specific collections, or them all at once! This will make dropping treasures much faster in times where you dont have the time to drop 1,000s of treasures. Please! Thank you.
We LOVE this game! The concept of treasure hunting is already pretty fun but what makes this game is the community of players (if you download it, definitely join our Facebook community group!) AND the ridiculously creative and equally gorgeous artwork for each collection of treasures.
This is one of a handful of apps that Ive had on our phone for any length of time; it has keep us engaged for that long. Great for traveling, although travel isnt necessary to have a great time with this game. Hunt individually or in teams for fun treasures. Developers respond quickly to any issues and continually improve/update the app. This app is a keeper for sure! Just FYI; Ive never reviewed an app before; this is our first time.
Definitely our favorite game – causes us to actually get off the couch and see the outdoors :).
Right away we see the scam. Traveling across the us gives prizes not traveling in your own city.
While it can be kinda tedious to get started (and know that you’re gonna have to pay 99c to really play the game), it’s totally worth it. Pick it up, hit up the devs on Facebook, and keep playing. It’s worth it.
This is such a fun app! Particularly if you travel a lot! It’s fun when you’re going on a road trip to see what new treasures you can find and bring home with you. And how long you keep your treasures buried in different obscure areas. We do this as a family and it’s so much fun to share! Also, admin are very responsive and helpful when you have any issues. Try it, you will LOVE it.
The pros: seems well written, doesn’t crash, good load times, etc. The cons: boring gameplay and all of the treasures that we have detected are clearly bots or automatic spawns. Boring graphical design and mediocre artwork. (Is this clip art?) In short… We buried all our treasures and then deleted the app.
What started as a good concept is flawed. The developer is judge and jury it seems. All of the top players cheat or have cheated with gps spoofing. Sometimes your account gets shut down because you’re guilty of association? The game has lost its integrity. It’s a joke. This is not how a business is run in 2017. Good luck.
We’ve been playing this game for years now and it is by far the best GPS game out there!! If you travel for a living (or if you don’t) you need to play this game.
The only game we have on our phone. The only one we’ve ever spent real money on. Easy and SO FUN to play!!! Collect, trade, and bury treasures nearby and all over the world.
Travelers Quest is addictive from day one and gets more addictive the longer you play it. We have visited so many awesome out of the way places, hunting treasure, due to this game. The best part of the game is the user community. They are so friendly and helpful it makes the game that much more fun to play. If you happen to encounter an issue or need help the support staff is there to help you in a very friendly and responsive manner. We absolutely love Travelers Quest. When we were reading the directions we were so excited for the game. But then we found out that u don’t actually have to look for the treasure u just have to be by it and then do whatever with it. It was pretty annoying when we found that out.
We’ve been addicted to this game because it satisfies our hoarding tendencies as well as our ability to communicate and meet other pirates from around the World. It’s still one of our obsessions by feeding competitive tendencies while running errands and taking occasional day trips And if gas stays this low longer trips are on the horizon CyberFern Pirate since 2012 (Not a nasty pirate. Up for trading if you cruise along the coast of southeast Florida.
We are absolutely addicted to this awesome game. Be prepared to spend some hours and gas money though. Once you get hooked, you’ll find yourself going on TQ road trips just to pick up that one elusive treasure. Happy hunting.

Its impossible to get more things and the game needs to be an mmo.
Never thought we would be riding our mountain bike to some of the most remote locations… Legally of course…. To dig up and bury treasures that do not exist so we can earn gold coins that do not exist. It’s so much fun! A couple things we would change though. About the game generated treasures. It would be nice to flag them if they were in areas that were impossible to get to. Maybe a game generated treasure getting flagged by three different players and it gets removed? Who’s going to venture into area 51 or in our case parts of the Everglades that don’t have roads or canals? Our list of treasure maps is clogged by game generated treasures that have been there for three years. Also it would be nice to have the option to bury some of our less valuable treasures at lower levels. It might help the new people out. :) Ghost.
This game is neat for travel, but son often has to explain it to us.
Update: This game is still amazing This is by far the most enjoyable game we have ever played on our iPhone. Most other games get boring after a month or so, but the great community of players, responsiveness of developers, and constant addition of collections has kept us playing strong for over a year now. We highly recommend this game for frequent travelers. The game does not require you to spend real money, and everything can be purchased with in game gold if you are patient. We personally think the add ins are all worth the couple of bucks each though. Check out the FB page for the game to learn a ton more. Don’t let the few negative reviews sway you, this game is definitely worth a try. But be warned, it is very addictive! :) -AragingBABOON.
We had an electric car and traveled more. Still fun to see who comes thru once in a while (hoping our stuff is buried deeply enough).
We have played this game for years! Even with bumps in the road, it’s a thrill when a new collection drops for us to find. The players are overall great folks but ruthless when it comes to hunting down those treasures. So much fun.
We do not recommend this game to anyone that values their privacy. The main developer is a player in the game (which is a conflict of interest). Ourselves and team members spent a lot of money upgrading ourselves in this game only to have the developer remove a valuable treasure from one of our collections and handed off to one of the members on her ship. The game has a lot of defects/glitches that allow others to cheat and the developer states this can’t be helped due to lack of funds. Overall a very poor game with a lot of cheating and no privacy.
Traveler’s Quest is a very fun long-term game for geocashing nerds. If you like geocashing, taking road trips and talking like a pirate, download this NOW! The in-game buyable upgrades are super helpful but not necessary when you first start out. There’s even an active online community of players around the world who are always around to answer questions! Come join the hunt.
This game will be fun if you never leave your home town, we think, but it’s especially fun for us as we travel across the US. Your buried treasures are worth more the farther away they are from where you found them, so when we fly on business we build in a little time to drive around and find treasure, and find the most remote stretches of road we can manage in order to bury our treasure. As a result of playing this game, we have been to places we would not have gone otherwise, and have found otherwise boring or unpleasant trips more bearable. You can progress faster with in-app purchases, but you don’t need to spend any real money if you’re patient. There’s nothing you can’t get with the gold you earn in-game.
This game is great. One of the best games you will play. The online community used to be a great part of the game, unfortunately the online forum is managed by an immature player who cheated to get to the top of the leaderboards. Those individuals justify their cheating and now dictates who can or cannot express thoughts about the game on the forum. This player deletes comments and threads at will and controls the forum in a way that is childish. To advertise an online community is incorrect since it’s a private group who must pass a popularity vote by this person to join the community. Aside from the community, the game is still fantastic. The game is fun and really makes traveling enjoyable. We would suggest thus game to anyone. One a side more; The online community used to be an enjoyable part of the game, except the developer has given the control to a player who cheated his way to the top of the leaderboards and now controls who can or cannot comment in the forums. Unfortunately the immaturity by this person has taken the enjoyment out of the online community. Aside from the cheater on the forum, this really is a great game. Newest update. We have used this app daily since 2009, and love it. We cannot say that about any other app in the store! This is not a quick game that you get bored of and delete. It is an evolving habit with a big network of people that you come to know and enjoy playing with! Buy this app, you won’t regret it. This app is the only app we really use on our phone since we purchased this great game! For the cost of this app, compared to the number of hours per day we use it, we could not suggest any other app for your iPhone! We would pay $9.99 for this app. This game is amazing, it has gotten us out of our house more and exploring many wonderful places. We are always hunting for treasures to move up the leaderboards. The developer is always looking to improve the great game through regular updates, which keeps the game fresh and exciting! Once you purchase this game, you will find that you do not go shopping in the app store for a game to keep you busy. This is a fantastic GPS virtual treasure game. It is fun if you travel but is also enjoyed by those who stay close to home. The Traveler’s Quest community is a great resource for new players so we encourage you to join the Facebook forum but isn’t necessary for playing the game. The nice thing is you decide how and when you want to play, at your own pace. Once you start, it is hard to stop.
This game is so fun :) it’s addicting and is actually fun. While they do have in app purchases, with some work you can get anything from normal gameplay. Love it, definitely recommend it :) put a little time and effort and you will succeed.
This is, BY FAR, our favorite iPhone game!! It can be a little rough when you’re first starting out but, if you stick with it, you’ll get hooked! We find ourselves venturing off the beaten path, DAILY, in an attempt to get that next "great treasure" (and we know we’re not alone)! The developers are constantly integrating ideas from the users & their support is unmatched! There is also a great community of players who offer tips, suggestions, and, in most cases, good will. We can’t even scratch the surface on all of the great aspects of this game! We hope you give it a go! Another great and prompt update from the hard working developers! If you haven’t yet given this app a chance, you’re missing out on one of the best apps there are out there. We’ve played since it was released in 2009, and still do. It doesn’t really get old. And we’ve kept in touch with so many from the online community on fb. Their page and group is fun; just give it a shot.

Our favorite game to play! Although it can be frustrating when circumstances make the game challenging. However, it is the challenge that keeps it interesting too! Players who travel far and wide do have an advantage, it IS called Travelers Quest after all. It just makes us long for more opportunities to travel so that we can dig, bury, and trade.

Been playing for a while now and absolutely love this game. The customer service is second to none. The point of the game is highly entertaining and addicting. The social aspect is a positive side note. We would highly recommend this game.
Great treasure hunt is on and you get to play too. Go out and be the best pirate and pillage cashes and build your own virtual wealth. We play all day long for the last 2 or more years.
Update 3** the addition of uber detect allows users to pay real money to find your treasure. Basically it’s making it so your treasure isn’t really hidden. So if you take the time to hide your stash in a really obscure place, someone willing to pay $3 can find it. This brings back the "pay to Play" concept where anyone willing to pay a bunch of $$ will be able to find all your treasure no matter where it is. So people like us that spend years playing the game can be "pillaged" in a few days by someone new willing to spend a lot of money and and has a lot of time on their hands. Update 2** they finally made it so you can buy upgrades with the gold you earn from your buried treasures. Kudos developers! Exactly what is needed to make this game fun and competitive. Needs more players but a fun time waster. Old review we wanted to love this "game". Started out with a great ambition that we would ride our bike to the closest treasures near us to get a bit of exercise while playing. Was a little disappointed to find only 3 close by. Went and got them and then found we may not be a high enough "level" to find others. So we spent about $20 to level up our detection and bury level (yes.. You have to basically pay to be any good at this game). And we found a few more treasures around.. Got them and also buried a few of the ones we found around the area. Within a few days the ones we buried were found and gone. So basically the money we spent wasn’t good enough to protect our treasure. Long story short.. You have to basically pay to be any good at this game. Also we haven’t figured out how to get treasure other then buy maps which basically cost money. The concept is really good but the gameplay needs a lot of work. We really don’t think we should have to pay a ton of money just to play the game. And others that are willing to "pay to play" are always going to be a higher level then you. It almost seems the game was designed just to line the developers pockets and not actually around the game concept. If they made it more like a RPG where you increase your level when you actually do something (like find a treasure) we think the game would be much more rewarding. But the current gameplay does nothing but drain your pocketbook. Skip this game until it focuses more on the game and not the money.
This game makes traveling to the grocery store more exciting! And traveling long distances … Especially on a road trip … So much fun! Any negative reviews about the developer or game are from weird people who get way to into odd details of the game and have stopped enjoying it for what it’s worth! And they have been playing the game for years so what does that tell you! Best game ever.
Super fun, great for whole family or all by yourself. Best app we’ve found so far.
First, we like this game a lot – fun and addictive. However, we cannot rate it higher as it is brutally difficult for new players. Experienced players can see your treasures but you can’t see theirs until you level up to their bury levels, and that earns you the right to pay high gold values for their maps and/or to disarm their traps. Many higher level players don’t hesitate to sweep in and collect your treasures shortly after you bury them (though there are a few white night mentors out there who are helpful and greatly appreciated). You can spend real world $ to accelerate your leveling up. The other in app purchases are helpful if you can afford the cash. Bottom line, unless you live in an area isolated from other players or you’re willing to spend serious bucks to level up, be prepared to hoard the treasures you find for the long haul or find some way out of the way place with an Internet connection to bury and earn in game gold and hope nobody comes near. We’ve been playing for almost six months and have a hard time keeping things hidden for more than a few days. The game support team is fantastic and the Facebook community very helpful. It’s where you’ll find many of the experienced "white night" players willing to help out and mentor new players. We’d love to rate the game higher, but it’s just too tough to keep a stash buried and progress in the game.
We can’t even begin to explain how frustrated and disappointed we are with this app. Every time we restore our device or upgrade our phone we need to go through days of communications with Kitty Code to restore account. Other apps in the App Store use the Game Center information. Why not this app?!?? Don’t waste your time or money on this app like we have.
We have traveled from Lake Superior to Lake Ontario and only found 5 treasures. 4 were in the same city by the same player. Too boring of a game if there are very few treasures to be found. No way to really get going in this game. If there were at least some random system generated treasures available for newcomers, that would at least help hold interest and get them going. Bottom line is that, in its current state, you will waste more time downloading the app than you will actually playing it.
Please be advised that some of these treasures are computer generated and therefore sometimes placed on private property. We contacted the company and they replied that you have to use common sense when finding the treasure. This caused some grief in our local community as treasure was placed on private property and upset the owner very bad when someone went to find it. Otherwise sounds like a fun game.
