Community Insight:

Love a good mystery especially with great voices and graphics.

We loved this game since we were A child and we still love it.

Amazing game! Great puzzles so far! The scenario is captivating, like reading a good mystery/crime book! We havent played the original, but this iOS version seems like a great adaptation of this classic point and click on mobile.

One of the best point and click adventure games of all time.. Glad to enjoy it on iPad now. Was made for touch controls this is great! Cant wait to play them all on here.

Hi dear developers Please help and update the game . When we sell the statue and get the money , the game is stop working . The character doesnt move . Please help Thanks.

Updated review: Awesome, awesome, awesome. Thank you so much for listening, and releasing an update so quickly!!! The storyline, gameplay, voice talent, graphics, and music are so well done and beautifully interwoven… We cant wait to start playing the next chapter! Thanks again developers! Previous review: we just purchased the BrokenSword bundle, and everything was amazing!… Until we installed the standard iOS 13.1.1 update, and now for some reason our gameplay screen is very small, and appears in the upper left-hand corner of our LCD display. Its very hard to see anything, and nearly impossible to click. Im extremely sad, because Im only in the first few stages of BS1, and now we cant progress. Please, Developers, send help soon!!! …Other than that, obviously, the game is fantastic. ** Ive also tried restarting the game, restarting our iPhone, and deleting & reinstalling the app entirely. Sadly, no success… It really needs an update. Oddly, it seems BS2s gameplay is just fine! But since Id rather start with the first one Im now just waiting… :-(.

Could not get passed the chess puzzle we did it at least 15 times with no luck. We looked at tutorials used the hints and no luck. Eventually we just deleted it.

We got the priest to polish the goblet and compared it to one of the tombs: the hint tells us to go to the map, choose the big red arrow and go back to Spain. However all the country maps are grey and the only flag we can interact with is Paris. We have tried multiple times. Quit the game and restored to our last saved game, but the map only permits us to go to Paris.

Love it, but theres a bug that you cant get past. Hoping for an update, so we wont delete it yet.

We hate that they removed the gorgeous cutscenesespecially the opening one. It does not improve the game. The added scenes with Nico are fine( we like her of course). Its still fun to play, but lacking. We still had fun, but object interactions are extremely frustrating and Im constantly hunting around for the right pixels to add object x to object y. Its worth $5 easily just for the nostalgia. Ive played all of these games and love them thanks to the voice acting and humor. We dont need the revamped character portraits when theyre talking and we really wish that they left the cutscenes alone. Im hoping the BS2 does not have the cutscenes deleted. 5 stars for the original game(we removed 2due to deleting the animations also removing blood lol, its not a childrens game). We love questioning the endless characters and showing them every object in our inventory and how funny their personalities are. People complaining about it dont understand point and click adventure games and why we love them.

We cant drag the chess pieces to their correct holes. The game will reveal the patterns of pieces and holes, but wont allow us to drag them. Ive tried multiple different tactics, quitting/saving, etc with no luck. Please help. Our review will be revised once we are able to continue playing. Thanks in advance After trying to contact app support and the devs with no success, we WANT A REFUND. Game is unplayable.

The game starts out totally wrong. It's supposed to start with the clown at the cafe. Even the Evercade version is better.

Controls on iOS are not smooth or responsive at all. We have lumbered our way through this game and now am at the chess puzzle. We know how to solve it but the dragging mechanism is not remotely responding. Its very frustrating because we think this game is very enjoyable and would be 5 stars otherwise. For $4.99 o would expect much better.

We have reached the stage in the game where we have received the polished chalice back from the priest, and we should be returning to Spain. However, when we go to the airport, we are not able to tap on Spain to travel back. We are not very happy that we have come this far in the game, only to have to abandon the game due to an error.

Getting a black screen when starting a new a new game. Please fix it.

Menu is now fixed but now new game just show black screen and get stuck. Same black screen also appears between loading screens and gets stuck. Cant continue the game. Pls fix.

The game will not play on iPhone X IOS 13. It will just display a black screen. We are very disappointed considering we love this game and just found out it was on IOS. Dont waste your money for a game you cant play.

This game is not playable now after update 2.0.7 for the video will not play.

PLEASE update to support IOS 13!! We love this game.

We love broken Sword we love George an Nico it is our favorite game.

July 2019 Rather than the same puzzles as other point/click games, Broken Sword uses logic to sneak around. There are a few puzzles, but those are not the common ones that Ive seen. This is one of our favorites; right up there with Thimbleweed Park. We had a bit of trouble with clicking on some touch points, however Im on iPhone 6s, so thats on us. It worked best if we flicked our finger downward over the spots (ie: inventory bag). Pros: Storyline, voice acting, puzzles, graphics, music, hint system, mechanics. Cons: Hoping in an update there will be an option to make the characters walk faster.

We dont usually write reviews but this is one of the best point and click adventures Ive played in a while. Wonderful gameplay and storyline.

We really enjoy this even though its a cut.

Not sure if this is an iOS bug or a game bug but as written by other reviewers this is not playable as the menu is on the top left of the screen and you cant click on anything. Lets see if new versions of iOS will fix this or if Revolution gives a patch.

Will there be a compatibility update.

This would have been a great game, say around 1987. But for today, its too slow, AND the inventory controls are clunky at best… When they even work. Disappointed.

Something wrong in this game we cant play it in Iphone x why.

This is a beautiful game set primarily in Paris. Characters have amusing French traits and idiosyncrasies. It feels like a graphic novel detective story. The puzzles include finding objects, interviewing people, and tricking people into doing what you need them to do. We are halfway through the second game, The Smoking Mirror, and it is also excellent.

This is absolutely outstanding! Some of the very best adventure gaming ever.

Love adventure games and just started playing this one but so far, it's boss.

LOVE it….. Bought the whole bundle and HOPE the developers create more…more….more.

We're really enjoying this classic adventure game.

Our childhood when this was on the original PlayStation.

We've always enjoyed "Old School Adventure/RPGs" and the Broken Sword series was one of the best!!! This an excellent software port to the iOS and we sincerely hope to see more Classic games brought back into the iOS inventory!! Runs great on our iPad Air and iPhone 6; no errors or crashes. Worth the money for both quality and entertainment.

Such a great series and they are amazing for the iOS 5/5 for all of them.

Honestly one the best games ever made its a classic! Make a new one.

If you are looking for a awesome game to play buy this. Every cent we spent on it was worth it. Such a cool murder mystery. Buy this game. The characters are very good and the game keeps you hooked all the time. Seriously you should definitely get this game.

Felt like a we were playing a 70's or 80's adventure cartoon movie with the way the audio sounded and the cartoon's art style looks like something from "The Hobbit" era. Many hours of gameplay involved. We are blown away. We wish part 3 and 4 were also added to iOS. Getting part 2 and 5 now.

The Broken Sword adventure games rank among the best in the genre, and compare favorably to favorites such as Sierra's King's Quest or LucasArts' Monkey Island series. The iOS version is beautifully remastered for mobile devices and fully voiced. A must have for adventure game fans and anyone who appreciates an artfully-told story.

Sometimes things take awhile to work even after doing it many times the same thing (bugs? Or we're not doing them right?!) but other than that it's kinda fun when we're not stuck. So exciting when it does work haahah oh but we would take out the jigsaw puzzle (or at least cheat for it)–too hard.

Downloaded based on the good reviews. But this app has problems. You can hover the correct key over a lock but nothing happens. Controls are difficult and now we cant progress past the safe, which we cannot open. Wasted money so far.

Hi, we just bought this game. But it crashes in some places and you cannot skip it… Disappointing. Planning to get a refund.

We can see the story , the art , everything's great! But we can't get the items to work right. The gears are going, the inventory object is all lit up, and… Boom! Doesn't work! Wish we could get our money back! What a shame.

Having to repeat sections and ask each character endless questions is a bore. The game should flow more quickly and not bog down over and over. Even reading the walk through did not move it along. We are retired, but even we dont want to invest all the time this game takes! We quit after chapter 7.

Simply the best version of one of the best point-and-click games out there. IOS gaming doesn't get much better than this. Enjoy the game.

We love all the Broken Sword Games.

Game appears to hang on one puzzle. Specifically, the bible verse highlighting puzzle. Otherwise, love it.

Well we just started playing this game and we're already stuck. Tried using the hints but those have not worked. We can't solve the two puzzles to unlock the gate in the area where the boat is. Prior to that we were finding the game mildly interesting. Right now we're feeling like we wasted our money. Because there was only one other review we were skeptical. Should have paid attention to our instinct.

Our older brother and we played this back in 1995 when we were 7 years old. Now in 2014 it is just as much fun as we remember.

Awesome game reminiscent of Sierra type adventure games like Space Quest …. Really cant find these type of games anymore…. Adventure games either have a gazillion hidden object scenes (blegh) or require a ridiculous level of violence, so thank you Revolution! Busy downloading part 2 :).
