Find out what gamers are saying about Broken Sword 5:

We wasnt thrilled to find that after we had bought the broken sword bundle they had only given us half of #5, but after playing the half and it being so very good, we figured Id dish out extra $ to buy the second half. So glad we did. This series has been fun, with great characters, storylines, but by far #5 has surpassed the others! Our only complaint is trying to get objects to interact on such a tiny screen – we were nearly stuck on the part with the cable cars because we couldnt get something in our inventory to reach an item lower on our screen! We managed to get it, but just barely! Anyway, very fun game. Hopefully there will be more!

As the other two parts, this is a great game. Not to simple, not to hard. Overall well balanced with a fun story.

Love the graphics and story line. However, it could be a little less wordy. Otherwise, great fun and good puzzles.

Please fix this issue we purchased the second episode the download is too slow we closed and opened the game and pressed episode 2 button it said to purchase again how come we already paid the 5.99$ so please fix this issue or refund us the amount to purchase we wont pay 5.99$ every time.

We just bought this game for the iPhone 14 in 2022 with the 6,1 inch display which is not huge to begin with and the game only occupies like 70% of the screen! It has big black bars on each side of the screen and the battery level and time at the top of the screen don’t even go away. It’s like playing a pirated version of a game on Android. We understand this in a game like Beneath a Steel Sky, but not in this more modern game. It was there that we realized it hadn’t been updated since iOS 13. We really wanted to enjoy it but we guess if you dont have an iPad it’s going to be a very lacking experience. We really wish they updated it but we highly doubt it.

As stated we’ve restarted and theres a piece of the letter missing. Had our partner mess with it too and nothing. Game deleted and reinstalled and still the same result. Id like a refund.

If u have played any of the broken sword games, we think this one was probably the best…… Both part 1 and part 2 were great…. Would definitely get the next entry in the series… This game is a great value at full price…. It is a fraction of what these games would be on pc or 3ds! Great job developers, great story, great artwork….. A cinematic point and click masterpiece!!!

Great entry in the Broken Sword series! The artwork is unreal. Love the voice acting and all the familiar characters, plus some memorable new additions. Plus, you get to hear the 70s hit Jasmine playing on vinyl again! (#2 on the Swedish charts, dont you remember??) Overall, a unique game with lots of suspense and interesting history.

Great action, thoroughly researched and intricate plot, witty banter. If you like this style of gaming, you’ll love this game.

Great game but hit a snag. Gehens map does not let us enter the word south so we cannot complete the puzzle and move on with the game. Ooof.

Great game, nice graphics, good addition to the series, etc. We just wish we were able to play the whole thing. You see, to make inventory items interact with the environment, you just drag the icon over the hotspot on the screen. This was just fine. Until the tram station in episode two. That lunchbox and those gears do not want to come together as they ought to. You see, the icon hovers about 2 cm above your finger as you drag it around. And the hotspot we need to drag it to is about 1 cm above the bottom of the screen. We cant continue the game until we can bring these two together. Its rather frustrating being locked out of the end of a game we paid for.

Boring! 50% less dialogue might make this novella interesting! Might!

We tolerated this snail like game until the neon sign. Absolutely ridiculous. Do not waste your time. We would rather watch paint dry. We need more games like Rooms and less of these clunky, boring games!

Update: iOS 13 is not supported! / Why no sync? We wanted to continue our Apple TV progress on iPhone but no saved game progress:( we refuse playing in it until progress is synced between our Apple devices.

We loved this game. We’re hoping for more Brian Ken Sword releases for iPhone.

We love playing this series! We hope there is many more. We’ve been following the story of George Stobbard and Nico Collard since the first game. We love how the game feels and we love the story. We wish the game was more like the second game. We liked the animated feel. However, this game is a good buy. Definitely worth it.

We just finished playing Broken Sword 2 (again.. After many years) and now 5 (new for me). What fun! We have always loved the adventures of George and Nico and it was fun seeing them brought into the modern age (smart phones!) while still maintaining the old adventure game feel. Yes, it is true that you do have to pay an additional 5.99 for the second part, but we didn’t think the game was short at all (as another reviewer stated) and since we remember regularly paying 25.00-30.00 for these games on PC, we really wasn’t bugged paying for both part one and two of this game. Now.. Our only question is.. Where is Broken Sword 3 and 4?

We couldn’t stop playing it. It reminded us a lot of Broken Sword 2 which is an amazing Classic in our opinion.

We really enjoyed playing this game, as soon as we finished, we got Broken Sword 1 and 2 also. We were not disappointed in any way. We hope they make IPad apps for 3 and 4.

We loved this game! We love adventure games and this is an excellently directed game with historical bases and really imaginative.

We’ve played the first 2 IOS games, they were good, great character voices and plot, but we felt a little dull at times, a lot of dialogue. This game reminded us really of old school Sierra games as well, but we feel it had a bit more humor, which we liked. Nicos part was very minimal. We really liked George’s voice acting, we think it literally made the game better. Some of the puzzles we found um, ove-the-top far-fetched, we had to use a walk through, but that’s us. We totally loved the religious/pagan mixed plot. A great deal for under ten bucks.

This is one of the greatest games ever ! Thanks for making it.

Some puzzles weren’t intuitive and didn’t make sense. Have to buy second half as an in app purchase for another $5.99. Way too short and lacking for a $12 game.

We just bought this game to play over the holidays. When we turned our phone off our progress was lost and we had to start over. After the second occurrence we deleted the app.

If you want to finish Broken Sword 5 you will have to pay an additional 5.99 and this is so much shorter than the other 2 games in the series. We’re very disappointed.

We played knights of the Templar and loved it, so we bought this one (accidentally skipped the mirrors curse). This one we like a lot as well, it’s got a great story, lots of bizarre things in it – a groovy drunken hallucination, aided by George, an interesting philosophical bit with a cockney hit man, and an evil baddy lurking in season 1 but becomes as evil as Dr. No in episode 2. Highly recommended!

We like broken sword series, best quest ever pls, add achievements for episode 2 in game center.

Absolutely loved this! Took us back to when the OG came out on playstation. Really enjoyed it and didn’t even mind the extra purchase! We would keep buying them just please don’t stop producing!

We enjoyed this one. The puzzles were fun. Nothing mind blowing. The team fixed the download issue and provided great email support too.

This is the best game in the world and don’t forgot to play shadow of the templar too.

Very interesting and fun to play. Hope that there will be more parts of it soon.

We have played all of the broken swords and we love them! But now we’ve finished playing BS 5 and purchased part 2 but when we press for Episode 2 nothing happens! We would really love to play the second half! Please help us!

At first the downloader said it was downloading but stayed at 0%. Then we paused at and resumed and it worked.

We were finally able to download and play episode 2. We love these games! Episode 2 was definitely short for the price but the graphics continue to improve. Keep ’em coming :)

We have loved all the broken sword story games so far and this was no exception, however, super short!!!!! The other versions were so long we often wondered if they would ever end!!! This one was nothing compared to them in length, and then they get you all involved, and they want another 5 bucks out of you for the second part. Won’t be buying that anytime soon unless it goes on sale for .99!

We bought the game but it doesn’t start the download. Please, fix it.

Still not working even with this update. We see they added download controls. But status just says "waiting". Will be requesting a refund.

We bought this game but it won’t start the downloading process. Please fix or we would like our 5 bucks back. Thanks.

Love these games. Fantastic storyline combined with great graphics + interface.

Update on the 08/21/2014: we finished the game after Revolution fixed the issue. Great game… But we’re still mad it took so long for you release the fix. Next game, make it harder, longer please (15hours of play) August 7th 2014: we paid for ep.2 and we cannot play it!! Revolution didn’t even answer our mail about it. We want a refund.

Update for episode 2: It’s still beautiful, even more so than episode one. But the game play is the same, moving from room to room solving a specific subset of puzzles. That breaks up the flow of the story. There’s also a couple of horrendous puzzles including one involving musical notes and paint cans. We did enjoy the story. It’s too bad the gameplay isn’t nearly as good as the scenery. Review for episode 1: In this first episode you literally go from room to room, solving the puzzles within that room. Many of the situations are contrived. Everything you need will be in that room. Between rooms you will listen to a lot of dialog. When you can contribute to the conversation, it makes little difference what you select. There are unnaturally long delays when you want to talk with someone. The scenes are incredibly detailed and the animation, which is lacking for some actions, looks good. We laughed when, after Nico swept up some blood, she tucked the broom into her blazer. It’s unfortunate given how beautiful the scenes look. It’s all story development so far. Hopefully episode 2 will have more substance.

Love this game! Been a fan since we first played. Been anxiously waiting to play episode 2, and now it’s finally available and we can’t play!! We spent the $5.99 and nothing. Please fix this!!!! Or refund our $$

Paid for episode 2 but can’t download. Ridic.

This game is very well made. The story is decent, but unfolds quite slow. The puzzles are quite reminiscent of Broken Sword 1 & 2, which we recommend playing first. The first has an amazing story! We purchased Episode 2, which then starts downloading and installing more data BUT it never fully installs. We’ve had it open and the progress bar stuck at almost completely full. Think we may just delete the game and not download Episode 2 until Im actually that far in the game. That is, if you have it fixed and able to download by then. Still a very good game. Looking forward to finishing it eventually.

The second part wasn’t as much fun as the first but the art was stellar all through. The second part’s puzzles weren’t as interesting and some of them required you to do things just a certain way or they wouldn’t work. All in all, we really enjoyed the series (I’ve played all the parts and our favorite is still the first one) and would definitely buy a sequel should the devs decide to make one.

We liked the first part a lot. It was fun. The second part is not bad except for some nearly insolvable Puzzles. Maybe on an Ipad you can see the symbols to decode, but not on an iPhone 5S. The help / hint button is the only thing to get you out of some situations.

The game was really good and enjoyable. The update with part 2 is nice, but short and easier to complete. Disappointing. Especially since it costs $6 – more than part1 – and offers little play value. We paid the price expecting at least or more than the original game and truly feel cheated. This is likely the last time we buy from this company.

We been tried play episode 2 we can’t able to download e2 it been stop download middle of it and we do same remove and then try again no lucky need to fix in future. We love to play broken sword we did play old edition on PC and now new broken sword. Hurry and fix it soon! Thank you.
