Love this Backgammon version. Only wish it ran on a Windows PC.
A few days ago we downloaded every single FREE backgammon app. We wanted to find the best of the best. We found it in this game. Having a lot of fun playing. We just wish there were different boards and dice to choose from. But, oh well, cant always get what u want. Give this game a try. In sure u will like it. After all, its free and only takes up a few minutes of your time. U wont be sorry.
In the most competitive level, computer gets a ridiculous about of doubles. Also, rolls are not random as we have never had to do an initial re-roll of the first single dice, as there has never been a double roll to start. Also, computer roll targets single pieces and repeatedly gets dice rolls that can hit any of our single pieces.
This was a perfectly fun app to play. They added the most intrusive ads we have every seen in an App. Charge us but dont bombard us with useless ads because youve had a few downloads there is plenty of other games in the store and this is not worth it.
Ive had a lot of fun with this program for a long time, but if we dont completely close the app down periodically, it gets very glitchy. Checkers disappear, checkers from both opposing sides appear on the same point (we wish we could attach a screen shot to prove this) or a checker on a point cannot be moved – we roll the dice and am told no move is possible. This has happened several times, unless we completely close the program and sweep it off the start screen and reboot it.
We finally decided to delete since it was consistently leaving an immovable piece on the board allowing the computer to win. Really frustrating.
Besides poor graphics, the app just didnt work correctly. Sometimes it wouldnt let us make a legal move and other times with a double it would only allow us 3 moves. Deleted game before we even got half way through.
This game has always cheated in favor of the computer. Aside from the multiple reviews pointing out how the computer opponent gets a ridiculous amounts of doubles, the recent glitch that actually SHOWS ME the re-roll so our man/men can be taken out is what has us looking for another game. Now we can actually see the computers original roll, which doesnt hit any of our men or doesnt get it off the bar, and then with a shiver and a buzz, it rolls again to get its perfect roll. Theres cheating, then theres throwing it in our face. Best choose another game if youre looking.
This game cheats a lot. It seems to go in waves where even if you look like you will easily win, the computer rolls these impossible rolls where it beats you.
Sitting through ads on political issues to be able to play backgammon? Hard pass.
This is our favorite Backgammon app, or should we say was. The ads have ruined it. Its stuck on an ad that WONT go away, even when the little x in the corner is pressed. AGAIN, we HAVE TO DELETE THE GAME BECAUSE OF A FROZEN AD.
7/26/2021. This has been the best backgammon game we have ever had. We have tried at least four or five of them and to us it seems the opponent always had ALL the doubles every solitary game and we could never beat them on a game On this game at least we have a chance and Id like that both teams are able to get doubles. We personally think the other backgammon games cheat. Why would you want to play their games and never get to win and never get doubles??? We have played this game for many years and it is the best for solo games against the computer. Joan from Massachusetts.
The latest change to the add processor makes it impossible to actually reach the game (well, maybe if you wait 10 minutes they will go away, we did not try that excessively).
We have been playing this game (app) for years and in the last 6 months the glitchs where you have to restart and the amount of adds have gone through the roof. Very disappointed in the fact it updates and only is getting worse. We give it a 3 only because we know it was better years before and hope its fixed soon.
We had already bought this game and now the company wants us to buy it again . Why cant they update the BackgammonD And now we have to buy the BackgammonG by the same company going to delete our BackgammonD and BackgammonG.
It keeps crashing!!! If we play 3-4 games it crashes. We have to shut our phone off and then we can play again. Done with this, deleting the app.
Love this app had for a few years until we found out it was using our camera for NO REASON !! WHO KNOWS WHAT OTHER SPYWARE THEY HAVE ON MY IPAD. Gave it 5 stars so this will get read, use another developer.
We used to use this app a lot couple years ago. Just downloaded the latest version after a long time and found theres no way to close the ads even after the count down. As an app developer ourselves we think this is an unacceptable bug.
As the programmer couldnt play with any skill, he has digressed to fixing the play by non random rolls fit to the situation. It takes away from the sport and the win by expertise rather than programming. Too bad…it was once a 3 star game.
We have been using this app a long time. In the past week an ad for Honda CR-V plays relentlessly, we have to reboot our iPad to clear it.
Way to many bugs that need to be fixed.
We enjoy playing this game!!! However, since the latest update it has been crashing as soon as we open the app. Im anxious for it to be fixed so we can continue to play.

We love to play this game played it everyday but since the last update July 5 we can't get past the first roll it crashes every time. We have an older iPad with IOS 9.3.5, can't get any newer because of age. Don't know if that makes a difference would love to have our old version of backgammon back. Help please fix.
Ive played this for years and loved it. Now we can no longer play without getting ads. We have spent the money 2 times now and still get the ads. You have ruined our game.
Playing on hard and we beat it the majority of the time. Needs another level to be challenging and the option to roll exact number to go out. Otherwise it is a good game.
The computer makes very bad decisions, even on the most difficult setting. Fun to win, but not challenging for any experienced player.
We win 95% of the time but that's not the point. Your offense is bad in our opinion but your piggish amount of doubles is truly incredible. As our friends watch us play, we're the queen of double ones and 6-3 to open. As we can predict your rolls, if we have a lone man out, you inevitably give yourself the exact rolls to hit and cover. You always have anywhere from 4-8 men in MY house! Don't like paying rent? Don't want to go home? Truly amazing the only point open was our three, we had up to three of you on the wall many times and yet you would get doubles threes each and every time! Wonder what odds of that would be. But it's your game, we guess we should feel privileged for letting us play! Gee thanks, we are truly humbled by your brilliance.
The computer chests like crazy, giving high count doubles, giving the puck on the bar JUST the right number to get to the open space on your side, giving just the right number to knock you off. We play this cheating game a lot so we see this over and over. We get so p***ed we will start over when it cheats. The other back gammon games aren't all that great. Wish someone would develop a fair game that would just play fair. Almost to the point to delete this.
We always loved this app but this latest update has caused the entire screen to go black every few seconds and then appear and disappear like a strobe light. Not only can we not make it through a game without getting a headache from it, but we also have to wait for the buttons to be accessible again when the screen does finally reappear. It seems like when we hold the phone in its normal upright position is the only way to minimize the blackouts. Please fix this cos other than that, this has always been a great game. Thanks.
A close game in doubles count 6 to 1. We play hard level. It is also uncanny at how often it hits other players. The game is a joke.
Have had no problems whatsoever. Other versions would freeze or experience a problem and you had to start over. Not here. LOVE it.
This version of the game has no built in cheating feature and that's the reason we love this version! Great work, guys.
…almost too easy to beat. On the hardest setting, we win nearly every game. The computer makes some pretty careless moves – moves that players with even marginal experience know not to make. Still, entertaining, and no crashes. Given some of the apps we've seen, that alone is an accomplishment.

This app works great. We haven't experienced the glitches others have mentioned. We play this on our iPhone 6 and enjoy playing.

We're starting to learn the game so this is a really good one to learn from. It's not super fast & super hard. It goes at just the right pace for us beginners- and we even win some.

Very user friendly, this game gives you all the excitement of Backgammon while providing all of the convenient short cuts that video gaming provides.
We like winning, so this game makes you feel good. Some times the dice don't seem to want to roll your way. But that is ok too. At times we don't feel like putting up with Internet chatter and this has none. Also don't have to have internet connect to play. That is a big bonus at times.
We played backgammon with our Father growing up. This game reminds us of those days. It is a great game and is addictive.
Never played Backgammon before. It didn't take long to graduate to hard level and now we win practically every game. We are sure an experience fed player would make it harder than it is….but we are enjoying it for now.

Entertaining for the most part. We dont think Ive ever seen an add.. Thats VERY nice. We agree computer seems to make irrational moves leaving itself open to numerous captures. We do win more than the computer which would be more satisfying IF it truly was a more challenging level. However… After bad day at work it does feel good to sort of kick some butt Great way to teach children their numbers and to critically think ahead of cause and effect.
Helpful to anyone learning to play. Not enough challenge for more experienced players. Game has closed a few times toward the end.
This app works perfectly. The computer opponent is a little week in his game but the app works perfectly.
We love how the rolls are actually random and not always exactly what the cpu 'needs'. But…we hate the decorative dice at the bottom and the rolled dice on the board, it throws us. And after finishing a game and closing app, when we return, the app is stuck at the end of the previous game wanting us to take the unused move even though we've already beared off all pips. Have to actually quit the game and start new. We haven't had the app like long enough to see stats if there are any so we don't know if it affects them. We don't play for stats we just enjoy the game. We'll keep the app, but am hoping for improvements.
We'd say not bad…have same comments like others. Winning is good but not enough challenge…love playing it tho especially at airports while flights.
