Even before we ponied up for the cheap yearly unlimited, the ads were not too bad. We like the interface.
Great app for learning how to play but we have one question. On earlier iPhones we had, we could rotate the phone and the play orientation could either be horizontal or vertical. Now the play is just vertical. Our phone orientation is unlocked and theres nothing in the app regarding changing the orientation. Any hints.
Would be perfect if it allowed higher bets. To practice betting too.
Its a great tool but with a fatal flaw. It appears to use the same optimal play based on single bet and not take into account of the Royal Flush bonus at max play. For example, when deal AQJ with AJ suited, it recommends holding the unsuited QJ. This would be the correct play if you werent playing max bet but everyone should know max bet with the RF bonus is the only way to play VP for maximum odds. And under max bet, the proper hold woild be the suited AJ. As a trainer to prepare players for actual optimum play, this is pretty bad. We also wish the payout adjustment could be fine tuned to match actual casion variations but thats just a wish list item.
Play this a lot and it is great. Took us a while to figure out why certain hands get played differently since there are no given reasons. However, after paying some attention you can figure out why sometimes is best to keep K and 10 suited or sometimes its best to only keep the K. In our opinion, this is a much better way to learn then going to a strategy card.
Overall this is our favorite VP app to learn on. The level of feedback and guidance is changeable to your preferences. It is limited in the number variations that can be played however, but limited options may be preferred so as not to be overwhelmed by choices. The look and feel of the game itself could use some updating; Its not what youll find in an actual casino. Such as a Game King device. Absolutely recommend this app be a part of your training though.
Love this app. Can we have an optimal/paid mode where it only gives tricky hands that test your knowledge? Skip all the easy ones.
Is every once in a while they wipe your point clean. 3 times we had over 10,000 point and they took them and left us with 0 points. Other than that we love this app and play it all the time.
Great way to learn how to play Video Poker. It also has all of the odds tables and game stats.
Ive been playing this game for awhile and have not received a royal flush. Four of a kinds are not often achieved. We do enjoy playing.
The trainer gives wildly wrong advice for the double bonus game telling us to hold KJ unsuited over 4 to an inside straight with 2 high cards. That is a massive blunder which makes us think their entire EV strategy calculations are wrong.

This app incorrectly ranks low pair as more valuable than 4 card flush. Took a screenshot and confirmed with the many video poker charts available. There was no other way to contact the developer and this flaw will prevent us from purchasing this app.

Really enjoy this app and it has helped greatly improve our game, just wish on the more complicated hands someone could describe why/how holding certain cards in certain situations is more advantageous. Im fine trusting the math, but want to make sure we remember/recognize the right play in the casino. Top notch app.
We held a queen jack suited and it said we were wrong. Then the combo comes up a bit later that we dont keep and it says we are wrong. We held only a deuce and It said we were wrong. Then the example comes up showing we held three cards that we did not do and to only hold the deuce in the analyzer. That made us delete the app.
We practiced with your tutor & was able to go to the casino & play video poker….thanks to your training, we got a Royal Flush!!!! And won $4K Forever grateful Dee.
Just downloaded the app and purchased it. The statement for purchasing the app says never see ads again. Yet we still see ads. Seems to be an excellent app but they should stand by what they say.

Dont pay for unlimited coins and no ads! We did and it has reverted back to the original game as if we hadnt paid.
Bought in-app upgrade long ago, and now we have ads again. V3.5 Fix this! Despite the developer comment below, it is not fixed. Paid for app – should have no ads. A year later STILL cant get rid of ads.
The strategy taught is very good but limited play without a purchase. We just wanted to learn how to play and not buy a phone app. Not enough time to learn much.

This app is realistic and has training functionality for Jacks or Better and Deuces Wild.
This is the best video poker training app that we've found. Using it, you can perfect your skills in Jacks or Better, Bonus Poker, Double Bonus, Double Double Bonus, and Deuces Wild (DW44 variations). The strategy is 100% accurate, and the interface is pleasant. The player statistics that the app compiles for you are very helpful. We love the competition offered through Game Center. We note that an earlier reviewer complains that the strategy is inaccurate because in Deuces Wild, Video Poker Tutor advises you to choose two pair over a single pair. A look at any of the widely available strategy tables shows that this is in fact the correct play for the DW44 variations. One chooses a single pair over two pair only in Full-Pay Deuces Wild. You can always check strategy by using Video Poker Tutor's analysis function to look up the returns for the various ways a given hand can be played. This app really does have it all.
One of the nicer looking ones. Some of the tutors choices are questionable though. We dont mind adware but that full screen pop-up for Solitaire that you have to click on the X to get back to playing is a bit much. Since they want you to buy credits, can you sell them back when you have excess? Will find something else to play.
Fantastic idea, beautifully designed. One huge problem though, they recommend incorrect moves. For example, they recommend you hold a two pair in deuces wild rather than just a pair. If accurate statistics are presented, this would be the best of the video poker apps.
Once we ran out of credits we either had to buy more or wait two days. No thank you.
Come on! 48 hours between credits, really? Totally lame. Just tell everyone your app costs $4.99 and be done with it.
We never realized we were playing Video Poker wrong all this time. Granted we were only giving up a small percentage of value but that small percent of poor play separates winners from losers in a casino. We cant wait to pay for the app and head to Atlantic City for some live practice.

We're in Vegas as we write this review. We've won over a grand using this app's strategy on the dollar machines. We highly suggest it if you want a good chance at winning. Our results aren't typical we guess but what have you got to lose.
Decent practicing for the casino.
We downloaded this app for training purpose but we were surprised to find out that u have to pay for credits to continue playing. Absolutely Absurd!!! Not worth it when u have to pay for fake credits just to practice. Come on!! We suppose that this is not a real poker game; if it is….then it's illegal.
Great training for amateur players.
We like the game. We have always wondered an outcome had we played correctly. Sometimes when we rush on vp in Vegas we have made mistakes. Sometimes we have deviated from perfect play on a hunch. It is nice to know "what if". We just got this app and haven"t put it down. It is nice to know we still have a high 90 percentage play.
Look no further, this is all you need for your best video poker odds.

Since we've found some strategy conflicts between VPT and other strategy guides, we would like to see some information regarding how VPT developed their strategy. Great value to prepare for the casino.
Good to review our strategy from time to time. Difficult to find video poker machines that pay out more than 7/5 or even 6/5, 9/6 is a dream come true.
This game is great. We thought we knew what we were doing but the tutor was soon 300 crediTs ahead of us! So you can learn a lot about the game using this app. Play against the best.
We've been playing video poker for the last 15 years and we're finding that we still make a few mistakes that this game caches. We love the way we can select the exact game and payable we play in the casino and then practice until we learn to play it perfectly. Sure saves us a lot of real money not having to learn at the casino :).
Really nice vp game. We like playing DDB and this has it. Possibly make the cards a little bigger and in DW, make the deuce cards say wild on them. Thanks.
We'll revise our rating since it appears we selected the wrong game. We're not crazy about it not looking like the casino games but so far it works. Maybe more updates later.
