This game isnt for everyone but if you are a graphic designer, calligrapher, or have an interest in typography, this is a must play game! The developers have made love, care, and creativity flow out of every corner of this adventure. Im trying to sound more like a professional reviewer and we can tell Im not pulling it off. Forgive us… This game is super cool if youre into typography. If you are, buy it and play it.
Great game. We downloaded it because of the typography theme. We keep playing because its a lot like the first Badland, one of our favorite games ever! If you like the alphabet, book history, or Badland, you will like it. And its free.
This game is awesome and educational about 10 different font and is very fun.
But there are 3 issues with achievements: time attack, collect all letters and collect all the & that are refusing to pop-up or acknowledge you got them. Its frustrating considering they arent easy to get and we want to officially 100% the game. Collecting everything and beating all the levels (especially that maddeningly hard special level) were fun, but Id like to get rewarded for our efforts with the trophies/achievements the devs put in the game as it gave us all the other ones so Im not sure why it wont give us the 3 we mentioned since we completed all requirements.
Overall it is an entertaining game with a creative landscape of fonts and text. Every once in awhile Id get stuck and it became down right frustrating. We love a good challenge and made it all the way to book 8, but finally had to quit when we couldnt get past a part. Maybe we were just missing a simple solution, but reading other reviews, sounds like its common for everyone. We can understand making some letters nearly impossible to get for 100% completion, but shouldnt have this much difficulty on the standard play through with no way to bypass.
We loved this game when it first came out years ago but now when trying to play it, it freezes and doesnt work. Wish the developer would fix it.
We played this game on steam years ago, and then again on switch when that version released. Its fun and informative. Sadly, this version of the game is broken. It has so far frozen in the tutorial level 5 times in a row. Please fix.
We played this game as a kid on our sisters iPad and absolutely adored it, mega fun way to spend our free time and such a whimsical premise. However we are currently experiencing issues after redownloading it in which after collecting our first asterisk the game will not let us advance, very frustrating since we know this is a great game, perhaps the game needs to be updated but it would be really cool to play it again.

Bought this game, super excited about the topic. But was unable to proceed after opening the first page. Not able to resume the game play.
We'd love to know what comes after cave paintings. As soon as the little page opens to read about cave paintings it freezes up. You can touch different areas and hear what's supposed to be happening, but the screen never changes. It's just stuck on cave painting history. Sound effects of pages turning, etc play, but that's it. Please fix bug.
Looks attractive but getting serious bugs in the book, which resulted in not getting past the tutorial.
Doesnt work on the new iPhone SE. Freezes during the tutorial. Dont buy it.
At a certain point its just not fun anymore. A challenge is one thing, just making it pointlessly difficult is another. We were interest in touring the levels and reading about the history, guess we cant do that now.
This is such a beautiful, artful, quirky, educational, challenging and thoughtful game. Perhaps our favorite iOS game ever.

We were watching a stacyplays video on YouTube, when we thought "is this on the iPad?". It was, but sadly, it looks like its going to load, and then crashes. Please fix this. The game looked amazing though, so we give it 5 stars.
Oh our freakin gosh! This fricken thing is amazing! It tickled all five of our fricken senses to be completely honest with all of ya gewnin font-lovers! As a matter of fact, our fingertips are still tingling, our nose hairs are standing up straight, our taste buds are sizzling, our ears are ringing, and our eyes are actually crossed. Holy fricken moly we haven't stopped playing this game for a fricken week, man, it's incredible much love.
We've seen a walk throw of the game and but we can't open the game for sum reason what the heck apple. Over all we give it 4 stars.
We love this game. Great educational game about fonts. Speaking of fonts, we think you should add a myriad pro level set. That is the font Apple uses. That would be great.
This game was beautifully created. Pop your headphones in and immerse yourself into a incredibly executed experience.
Beautiful with an ingenious level design, this is easily a five-star game. The physics are tricky and the decision to use a colon as the protagonist is sometimes very difficult. But all in all, this game works astoundingly well. That is, until Helvetica turns into a druggy dream. From there on, the levels are frustrating and we wish the designers had not chosen Pixel as the final font. That said, the hidden bonus level is insane anyone who did not hate this font until then, surely will after playing the "LOL cat of death".
Beautiful, engaging, so well done. Just beat the game and now it's time to find all of the things that we missed the first time around.
This game is great. Maybe because we're a graphic designer we are a bit biased but this is the only game we have ever purchased on here and it will probably be the only one we ever will. We generally dislike iOS games but was glad to find this one. Once we complete it we'll go back to gaming on our vita, 3ds, ps3, ps4, ps2, 360, PC, wii, wii u, dreamcast, sega, and gameboy.
The look of this game is beautiful and the game itself is fun.
It's just so beautiful :') Graphics to the music it's just so well done… Plus you get to learn about type along the way unlocking parts of books to learn more about different styles if type… So beautiful.

This is a fantastic beautiful game. That is so much fun to explore and repeat over and over! That challenges are unique and there is even some good puzzle solving! Our 3yr old loves watching us play the "black ball game" so much that it is a part of our bedtime routine now! Keep it up bulky pix.
We don't write many reviews but this game inspired us! Its use of sound and motion and interesting storytelling are compelling and immersive. Its challenging, sometimes getting the balls to go where you want can be hard and frustrating, but never so that we don't want to keep trying. There is a ton of fun for just $2.99. Highly recommend it.
And we wanted to give this game 5 big fat stars. Very fun, engaging and beautiful graphics. The music is so peaceful and the game is so tricky at time. Great fun.

Lots of hidden information and great historical context for many of the fonts that folks use and take for granted every day. We just knew there had to be a hidden level and knew what font would be highlighted and the game did not disappoint. If there is one criticism, it is that the dev really should get a proofreader-editor. Mildly ironic that a game all about text/type would have awkward sentence structure and grammatical errors. Not enough to dock a star, but the dev should probably do a quick review and post an update with corrected text.
ITS FUNNY BECAUSE ITS A "TEXT" ADVENTURE GAME!!! ….. Y'all se what we did there? Hmmm? But anyway definitely worth it.

Fantastic app. Beautiful design. Intuitive gameplay. Happily addictive. Couldn't stop playing, had to finish it in one day. Also, it didn't pop up in the middle of the game to ask for a review, like so many other apps and games. Worth the money. Worth the time.
This app is probably the best game we have to date, beating Minecraft and Pocket Frogs (in our opinion). It's beautiful, efficient, and clean. Not to mention entertaining for hours on end. The only problem we've had is that our iPhone 5c gets hot when we play this for extended periods of time, but we think that's something on our end. :-) Overall one of the best games out there.

The game has excellent graphics and is history driven, which you don't find much these days. Although we just started playing, we found ourselves drawn in, which doesn't happen very often. Controls are fairly easy to use. We recommend this game.
The graphics and concept is out of this world but it's not very easy to control the ':' we spend more time trying to get it to do as we please.
Never thought we would be interested in a game like this but definitely worth every penny. The music with the beautiful backgrounds and puzzles is outstanding.
We were pleasantly surprised by this. The style is draw dropping. The game mechanics are a fresh take on mobile platforming. We're only 2 levels in and we're already hooked.

Five stars is not enough. We would love to see a game based on the history of science, chemistry, astronomy, or math. Please please please, keep making making games.
