It took a little bit to get used to the navigation but it was worth it. We played the free part but we will purchase the game soon. The story is good and the hidden object sections are just the right amount of difficulty, some are easier than others to find. The mini games are a lot of fun. You really have to think about them. We highly recommend this game.
Ive never played a game by this developer and while it took us a few minutes to get used to the change, the game turned out to be a lot of fun. Some of the puzzles were difficult and we like that, and the hidden objects were fun to find. We dont usually review the games, but we really liked this one and will be looking for more like it. While were talking different, we miss the more complicated games, like the DaVinci game where you actually had to make things like paper, etc, and the Nostradamus game, where you also had to complete tasks! Those were amazing! How about bringing that sort back for the newbies.
Game was well done. It was nice to not have as much violence as some. We mostly enjoyed this game as it wasnt involved with the occult.

So refreshing to FINALLY find a game with no spiritism, creepy images or magical overtones!! Just a good old fashion whodunnit. Not too hard but challenging enough to keep you interested. But if you get stumped there is an easy to follow guide. PLEASE make more games like this.
So, we rarely spend $ on a game unless we KNOW we'll get our money's worth, or, if we get to play a TON of levels for free. If we play free for many levels, we don't have a problem with supporting the creators. Until now, we have NEVER spent money up front, hoping the game will be worth it. After trying, then buying, several hidden object mystery games by Big Fish, we now just pay for the full version right away. THEY ARE THAT GREAT! Our ONLY wish is that they put out more games without an occult/magic/cursed theme.
Finally a great mystery game without all the horror, occult, scary garbage, just a real mystery game! Great story line, graphics, seek and find and puzzles to keep you thinking! No extra money to buy more lives, or anything else. It keeps you on your toes. Yes, there is a lot of back and forth but a little of that is better than a lot of other junk you have to deal with in other games. Really fun and well worth the money, which is extremely hard in these games.
The storyline was entertaining and the locales were numerous. There was a lot of jumping around, but the map made this simple and quick. We would love to see more of these.
If Big fish would have more games like this without the horror, demons, occult, we would purchase them. This game had everything. Puzzles to solve, hidden items, and a mystery to solve.

Great graphics and storyline. Not the usual Bigfish dark and creepy game, which we loved. The bonus game was great too and you definitely got your money's worth.
What a great game after all the "other world" games. This has all the goodies you'd expect and graphics are amazing. Lots of puzzles with a lot of variety. We thoroughly enjoyed playing this different but comfortable game.
Don't know how we missed this one. Found it dragging through ap store's big fish games. It was really a good game-real people, nothing mystical, with a coherent plot. Great graphics and scenery, varied and interesting HOS, games & tasks. Thank you, Blam, for the adult and cohesive game-really enjoyed it. Big fish, you should promote this one more-maybe in a package with Silvermoon. People actually enjoy a good game set within this world. And crime drama mysteries are always welcome.
This game is great. Not too hard, not too easy. The Map interface (with jump-to) is super. Need more games like this. Love that the theme of the game is "normal"; most of the games today have that awful "evil" theme.
Loved the mystery aspect and trying to actually solve the crime. It had a great storyline, good leads along the way (90% of the time) so that you didn't have to use a hint, and best of all, it didn't have the sci-fi creepy vibe to it that seems to be in so many games these days. We really enjoyed this because it was, very simply, solving a mystery.
Not bad, especially after the last bug fix. A couple of puzzles are excellent. Occasional glitches on the task indicators on the map, but overall pretty good.
Update question, is it possible to get all 25 hidden kettles? Because, we have looked in every scene and we always come up at least 1 short. This is our first Hidden Object Game. We tried other ones but didnt like them because they interrupted play with ads or they want you to buy your way thru itor both. This one lets you play for a while (uninterrupted) and then gives you a choice to buy it or not. Its very entertaining and we love the map (very helpful) and the puzzle in each HOP is fun too. It offers an extended bonus feature for no additional cost and you can play it as many times as you want without cost also. All in all its worth the money :).

A little extra tap on the exit arrows and captions to advance but not terrible.
One of those games that really keeps you moving around, never a dull moment.

If you play more traditional HOPS games like those from Mad Head and 4 Friends, this will take some time to get accustomed to. We liked it and we didnt. The HOPS are lots of fun but as some other reviewers have noted there is a lot of back and forth. We stopped reading the journal notes because we found it so odd that you have to briefly look at the opening page of the game to get back to where you were. One positive is that the narrative does make sense unlike other mystery games. Overall, since we paid for it, we played it but it wont be one we go back to.
We're having a great time with this game. We'll buy more like this whenever we clean up our hard drive. Thanks for hours of fun. We are disappointed that we can't go back and pick up some items that we missed. Is there a way to start a game without finishing the first one.
We are currently playing Big Fish Games on our iPad (2018) and this is the second time Ive not been able to purchase any of the games. It will allow us to play the 1 hour free but once that is done there is not option to purchase. What up with that????? So now, we have to delete the game and forget about it. We were enjoying both games but so disappointed that we cannot continue. It just does not offer a buy option. Your loss.
An ok game but the designer has obviously never been to Boston and didnt do much research about it.
Disappointing. Puzzles dont make sense, and its too hard to click on things, so Im constantly having to use hints. We love a lot of the big fish games, but this one is a flop. Good story line, which is the only reason its getting 2 stars.

We really like the games they make, but when you pay money for a game you shouldn't have to get full page ad's popping up during game play. Shame on them. We now know not to purchase games from Big Fish.
We wanted to like this game, especially since we're a native Bostonian. But, we've tried it twice now, and found it very disappointing. You go to a scene, find one thing, then have to move to a new location. And, since there's NO logic to most of the moves. You need to keep referring to the map. Example: the water in the hallway (it's a foyer, not a hallway, BTW) is dirty (beyond foolish, who has a bowl of dirty water in their foyer?), you go to another scene, several moves later, and find a cleaner, move further on to find a wounded man, and a dirty bandage (doesn't everyone have a dirty bandage hanging around?), so you need to go to the dirty water, add the cleaner, wash the bandage, go back to the wounded man and apply the bandage! Sorry, but that's just too stupid. This game COULD be good, but it's not. Even the HO scenes have oddities, like needing a scalpel to open the model of an eye to locate something totally unrelated. We'll pass. This game needs SOME logic to it. Seemed to have been developed by right rained people only. Booooo.
Spent the full price money on this game, but cant finish it due to a technical glitch. The hint leads us to an area we cant complete because game doesn't allow us to get all the requirements needed. We can see what is needed but no path to obtain all the parts. So frustrating and a rip off.
Why are all of our games we purchased since 2014 gone? And they now are reissued and saying we have to pay 6 dollars for the same game Ive already purchased?! Horrible company.
Why do we keep buying these crappy Big Fish games? We guess we keep hoping they'll be like they once were. Cannot stand when you use the map and the "loading" cut scene shows up, just take us to where we want to go! Love the hidden items in the scenes; but, why can't we go back and find the ones we missed without having to play the whole game again? Ugh.
Not going to rate this game any higheruntil we are able download the second part of it; paid for the full version and getting a message that says no purchase record found…what a crock of crap, a waste of our time and our money.
After paying the $6.99, the game froze. We reloaded the game. Froze again! We are deleting it, again, and not trying again. This game needs to fix this. We're not happy to have wasted our money, when we could have spent it on another game.
So we paid $6.99 to play a game that did not even have a conclusion and then was asked to pay $6.99 more for extras. What a bunch of jackasses.
We love this game! This has nothing to do with ghost or after life. Just old love and a solid marriage we love it and play it frequently.
A welcome change from all the dark themes! Well done.
