Wordophile is a minimalistic, clean and addicting word puzzle game. It contains elements similar to crossword puzzles and word jumbles. You can complete the game in any order you like. There is no time limit, no score and no penalty for trying different combinations. In case you get stuck, there are extra hints available to help you.
This game has been designed from the ground up to work with any screen size to give the user an enjoyable experience. If you enjoy games like crosswords, Syllacrostics, anagrams, Wheel of Fortune, hangman, or any game with words, you will love this game.

GAMEPLAY
The goal is simple; complete the level by finding words on the screen in any order.

Very challenging. We would like to see some more clue opportunities as some of the answers are not well known.
Really tough and fun. Some of the answers we get right away – the answer is in the clue! We roll our eyes when we finally get a simple answer. But others we have never heard of. And we cant find the answer in any crossword puzzle clue site. So we use a hint, get that answer, so we can finish that board.

You have two options for play. You can choose an anagram or the number of syllables. It isnt as easy as we thought it would be. Some answers are words Ive never heard of before and we would like to think we are well read.
This isnt easy! Im a crossworder on a daily basis. This is not a crossword! Some of the clues contain the answer which never appears in crosswords. Some of the answers are words Ive never heard. We seem to jump around on the games, only finishing a few and the rest have white circles indicating Im stuck! Plenty of room for improvement, but its fun.
Wish there was a way to switch the syllables around on the actual line though.

PennyPress called this Syllacrostix we believe . Loved the game as a child, due to wonderful shared experiences of word puzzles with our mother. This seems to be the only version out there! Though the words are not divided into etymological syllables, the spelling challenge remains. As with all word game apps, there are alternative spellings, new definitions, with a hefty dose of subject/verb disagreements and syntax errors, just to keep you on your toes. Plus, those damned in-app purchases for additional puzzles. Sooooo 2014.
Just started to play. It has potential. Like that you can have word scrambled or regular, because we are great at anagrams.
The clues are so specific and oddly phrased that the puzzles are not satisfying. The definitions are expert-level crossword clues, we expect. Our crossword dictionary and internet searches gave no help. It becomes more frustrating with each dead puzzle.
Obscure words which we know is part of word games but even after looking up answers from clues its difficult to find some words. Its still fun and holds our attention. Could easily be 5 stars if some things were tweaked.

We really like this game, but we had to delete the app because the ad bar is annoying and distracting to us. Charge a fee to remove the ads, and we'll gladly give you five stars.

Great game and concept. Love the tiles to manipulate the words and figure them out along the way. We definitely recommend this game if you are into word definitions and widening your vocabulary.
This is a great game to get you thinking about words that you might not use daily or even occasionally. Its enjoyable to take a few minutes every day and exercise your brain just a bit. We dont think anyone will fail to notice that this game can really challenge players of Allen levels. Give it a try you have nothing to lose and its way better than wasting your time shooting objects out of the sky over and over again. We hope you will enjoy it too.

Enjoyable as well as challenging.
This is a great game to keep your brain juices flowing. It keeps you thinking because some of the words you don't hear everyday.
We get a good workout for our 78 year old brain.
The game has a high degree of difficulty. Great if you like a challenge. Sometimes you have to ignore misspellings.
This is a clever and fun game not too simplistic. There are some words that are spelled incorrectly or are not spelled conventionally.
One suggestion: Currently, as you enter parts of a word, if you want to make a correction, you must delete ALL of what youve entered and start over IT WOULD BE GREAT if you could delete or back out of the word piece by piece, rather than only being able to delete the WHOLE word Thanks to the developers for your work on this app our wife and we are vocabulary nerds and love playing this.
Lots of fun, but very frustrating sometimes. Great challenges.
