We enjoyed the scenery and the sample game was great but didnt last very long.
Good story, good graphics, great mini games and HOS, lots of extras and the main game and bonus chapter are both super long! This game really has it all so go for it.

Not to scary, kind of self explanatory half of the way we've played.
After waiting so long to be able to play and only to off of our iPad, it wasnt so bad. It was fun and so were the extras. It was an interesting take on the legend.
We enjoyed it. Many rooms to explore. Our suggestion for making it better would be to have the characters' mouths moving. Nice sound and cool effects.
We do get the others problems with the tapping. We did get frustrated at some parts.. If that was fixed it would get 5 stars.
In the music room, it took us forever to get our to register on the trumpet. The trick is to tap in the corner above the trumpet, not on it.
The game was great when it worked. The hang ups were many but if you want a great older game this is one of the better ones. Could only rate a 3 but would have given it a 5 if not for the problems with the game.
Update: Upon playing this game again, the tapping has actually gotten worse! We had to tap on the toy trumpet over 100 times! We dont know if iOS updates have affected this or what, buts its ridiculous. So we knocked off another star. We love the Grim Tales series, and even though this one doesnt have Richard , it was good. The main story and the bonus chapter do not make sense together. So youre broken-hearted over your husbands death, so you say a curse into a mirror to give you immortality? Okaaaaaaay…. The tapping in HOS is, as others have mentioned, an exercise in futility. Forget getting the 10 in 10 achievement, bc you have to tap repeatedly on some items to get them. Ive tapped on an item 4-5 times, thought ok thats not it, looked around, back to same item another several taps, looked again, finally tapped like 10 times and yep it was that item all along. The game is lengthy, and after you complete the bonus chapter you can access the Hall of Memories, which revisits some HOS and puzzles but in a different way, with a story involved. Very cool. The puzzles are original, some easy, some harder, but all very doable. The scenes are beautifully done, love the Disney princess-type room, done in a grim kind of way. Collectibles are 12 statues scattered throughout the game, which allow you to play movies in the cinema. All in all really enjoyed except for the taptaptaptaptap.
Map was useless & touch sensitivity was ridiculous. Trying to tap that trumpet in the one hidden object scene…took us forever with multiple taps. We normally love this series but this game was not up to par.
We finished the game before and now we have to buy it again that is crazy.
This is an ongoing problem that was in reviews from a year ago! Has not gotten better; unlike the other reviewer we gave up tapping n the toy trumpet in the music room; we have other games we can play.
We cant get the trumpet. Ive reinstalled & restarted the game three (3) times. To discouraged to try again. Very disappointing because we love this series of games.
The game is to our liking, but technicalities forced us to reinstall it. That means losing progress and starting over (everything is up to date). There was a bug that prevented us from selecting an object, which meant no moving forward in the game. We knew it was the right object because the hint also validated our guess. Not much support from the "support" menu. We're too demotivated to replay through it now since we were far into the game, and we're afraid it will still malfunction.
Played the free demo and really liked it so we purchased without reading the reviews. Our mistake. As many have said, we cannot retrieve the trumpet in an HO scene making it impossible to move forward. Very disappointed.
We have deleted and reinstalled twice and things still don't work. Tapping takes multiple times to register and we have not been able to tap on the trumpet in music room at all. It was an expensive game to not have work.
The game seems like it could be fun, but it has flaws. The tapping is WAY off. We had to tap on several items many times in order to select them. At one point, we even used a hint to make sure we were tapping the correct item. We were, but still had more trouble trying to select it. The map is pretty useless. It shows you every area with something to do, whether you can do it then or not. That's frustrating. The hint button is useful, but we had to use it too frequently in order to find out where we needed to go. WAY too much back and forth, and no teleporting that we could see. So, we'll pass on this one. Too expensive for too little. But, at least we got to try this game before purchasing. We don't like FB's new policy of no trial game.
Why are all of our games we purchased since 2014 gone? And they now are reissued and saying we have to pay 6 dollars for the same game Ive already purchased?! We purchased this one already restore our purchase.
We are having the hardest time with this game. We cannot move forward as we are unable to retrieve the trumpet in the music room HOP. We have closed the game down, reinstalled, tapped the trumpet constantly, etc. Ive tried everything including emailing the help online and received nothing. Its really too bad because we were enjoying the game. Would really like to continue with the game, but at this point we think we just want our money back.
We probably got most of the way through – after paying for the game – and then one of the HO scenes will NOT let us pick up one of the objects. So, obviously, we cannot proceed. We are also going to give every Big Fish game a 1-star rating until they stop their false advertising. Have any of you tried re-playing one of the games you purchased over 4 or 5 years ago? You cannot. We contacted BF and they acknowledged that their older games do not work with newer OSs. Yet they are still advertising with pay once, play forever. According to California law, that constitutes false advertising.
Sorry we didnt read all of the reviews before we downloaded and paid for this game. Tapping is poor and no amount of tapping or reinstalling lets you tap and get the trumpet. The strategy guide words are over top of the trumpet and no amount of tapping will allow you to get the trumpet. Our bad. We will be more careful and not choose any more of these games.
Like a majority of the comments on here, we too am stuck on the hop music room. Very disappointed that we will not be able to finish the game because we cannot go on from here. Come on big fish, fix it or pull it from your availability.
We have never been so frustrated!! Shame on us for not looking at the reviews first. Normally we are a huge fan, but not this time. This game is really bad. Everything people have written is true. We spend too much money for a game to be this unresponsive. Just like everyone else it take ps multiple taps to get things to work and we are now stuck in the music room unable to get the trumpet which is behind the strategy guide buttons HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT ! WHAT A WASTE.
Hops hard to get the items to select and the one in the music room will not let you select the trumpet in the far left corner. Don't waste you money. Definitely should have read the reviews before purchasing. Very dissatisfied. The game is interesting otherwise.
We cannot get the trumpet in the music room either. Big fish games are our favorite especially the grim tales series but we cannot complete this one and we are bummed.
Wish we had read other reviews before purchasing- we have reset and reinstalled 3 times and we are still running into the problem of items not responding (flower and trumpet for example). Im done with Elephant Games.
We usually love this type of Big Fish Games, however we think they rushed this one into production without testing it. Tapping is a huge issue; have to double tap or tap repeatedly trigger an action IF we can even get to the trigger. When we finally made it to the gym, picked up the brush and was confronted by a demon. Im so frustrated because the hint AND strategy guide says to get the toy mouse under the cabinet but we cant get to the cabinet until we remove the demon. Did we mention there is nothing in our inventory to remove said demon?! We cant even reset the stupid game. Ill have to delete it then reinstall but like all Big Game hidden object games, Ill have to buy it again because our purchase will not have been recorded. Find another game.
The game is tedious to play because when one taps on anything it takes multiple taps to get the item, if at all. And the hint icon is the same..tap on it multiple times to get it to respond. Speaking of the hint function, we are not a fan of the wordy description of what to do…just take us to the area and indicate where to focus with the usual sparkle effect. We gave up playing because it was so frustrating. Dont waste your time.
Thats all you do, it has potential,but it wasnt very well thought out. We wouldnt buy it, but Id play it if it were free.
MY MOM GOT ME THIS GAME AND THE APP,STORE TOOK IT OFF MY we PAD SO MY MOM HAD TO BUY THE GAME AGAIN AND NOW WHEN we HIT ALL READY PURCHASE IT SAYS THAT THERE WAS NO PURCHASE ON THIS ACCOUNT we AM REALLY MAD.
We should have read the reviews. We were enjoying this game, despite the issues it has, but the trumpet killed it for us. Over it.
This is the only game we have an issue with. No matter what you can't click on the trumpet if you have an iPad. And no matter how many people complain about it, they won't update it or anything. Very upset that we pay for games and they can't make sure they work properly. And yes we have deleted it and reinstalled it, and that didn't work either.
Came to a hidden object search where "trumpet" was the item. Even though we burned hint after hint and repeatedly chose the indicated multi-colored party trumpet, the game would not let us through. Very disappointed, until that point it was lovey.

The game is okay, although as others have noted the controls are very poor, but what really aggravates us is having to put up with ads in a game THAT we PAID FOR! Not cool.
We are also stuck in the HO in the music room as we cannot pick up the stupid striped trumpet. The tapping has been erratic throughout but this is just not responding at all on our iPad mini. It is positioned very close to the strategy guide button and partly behind two moving drums. We have tried tapping when the drums are up and down and have enlarged the picture but nothing works. This makes 4 big fish games we have that do not respond – yes 4! We are done.
Again a daily deal that is an OLD game and costs more than a new game!!! Greedy BF!! Hope sales are good…won't get our $$$$$.
The tapping doesn't work. We can't tap on the trumpet in the music room. It doesn't registers we can't go any further in the game. Seriously? We just paid 6.99 to unlock it and we're stuck. Where's the in game support.
We had to pay for this games and some taps don't register we.e.. The trumpet in the hos of the music room fix or give us our dang money back.
This is ridiculous. We've hit two areas where we couldn't continue because the tapping didn't register. On the first, we just had to tap to turn a key. We just began hitting the screen repeatedly until it suddenly worked. The second is one of the hidden object areas. We see the trumpet in the top corner near the "strategy guide" button but we can't get it. The hint lights up and we tap on that spot and all around it but it doesn't't work. Hitting the guide button works perfectly. It's very unprofessional and sad that they released this game with these bugs affecting the core mechanic.
We're about to throw this game out. Every few movements, another ad. Stop it.
We had purchased this game, and now it wants us to unlock again. Worse than a useless update, it was an expensive one.
This is a very good game. When we find a game that's dealing with something scary and creepy like Bloody Mary we'll play it. Awesome job creating this game.
Didn't purchase the game just yet. But it appears so intriguing that we feel that we absolutely will!!! Big Fish needs to make more intelligent horror themed games like this! Also, we're loving how incredibly detailed the graphics are.
We loved the creepiness of this game. The grim tales series is our favorite. The puzzles are unique and the game is long. In addition there is a bonus game as well as a hall of memories where you get to revisit the puzzles and HOSs in a new way. Thanks elephant games.
Elephant Games does a good job of creating atmosphere to make the game feel like a story. We like their games. They don't seem like random puzzles placed in a story. The puzzles add to the ambiance of the game.
Loved this game. There were not to many hidden object scenes which we loved because really why pay money just to tap randomly at objects. The creators really put their heart and soul into making this game engaging and setting up problem solving scenarios where you actually had to think. The game lasted a very long time which made you feel like you were getting the most for your money. Very well done.
