Community Insight:

We were stoked to see this game on iPad! We have it on Android and our Laptop as well. Not only is the story incredibly fun in a brilliant thinking mans version of a b-horror plot, it is beautifully rendered like Nightmare Cinema and is very long! This is back when games were almost like novels and you could relax and play for an hour every night ( no hints! ) and do it for a week. Plus it has a bonus game. This series is how we feel in love with Hidden Object Games and we wish we could speak to the artists who designed the original Fear for Sale games. They are FANTASTIC. If you like a good story, fun puzzles and a big helping of creepy paranormal mystery happening, do your self a favor and get this game. We are honestly perplexed by the couple bad reviews. We feel like they didnt even play the same game. Maybe they stopped at the beginning? 10/10 Gameplay 10/10 Art 10/10Story 10/10 functionality 10/10 Value Please come back and make more hidden object games people who did this and the other earlier Fear For Sale gems! Lady3Eye.

Am in our 70s and play games to keep our brain in good health. Challenges are not so hard that you have to be a Mensa member to solve them. We like that. Thank you – will look for more games from your company.

This game is creepy. And we love creepy. We loved the story, the puzzles, the hints, the music, and the animation. Very well done.

A good story line and interesting puzzles make this a game worth every penny of its price. Of the many story games, it was easily in the top 10 percent.

Very enjoyable game! Extremely addictive and entertaining and brain teaser for reasonable deduction solutions. Excellent.

We love it. The story, the hidden scenes, every thing.

We loved the music, especially the violin! Please make another one like it. It just needs to move faster between locations.

To the idiot who said it was grainy, that is RAIN! We think the game is great. The storyline is original and believe us, we have ALL of Best games! We would know if this was a rerun. There is a similarity with a story about magicians and a house that disappears, but let's face it, after all these stories, there is going to be some similarities. We thought the game was back to being one of their best. Great going, Best.

We are delighted to say the devs took every suggestion made after the release of their first game and corrected every issue when they made this one! Storyline is good – characters are all individual personalities, drawing is clear and concise even on zoom, scenes nice and bright and customizable brightness option AND … Zoom in every. Single. Scene! We can hit the % in upper left corner and blow up every scene not just hog! Loving it.

We reviewed earlier that the fan us was faster than most Elfun games. WRONG! Why can't they speed up their games. Slow move from scene to scene. This is a problem with every Elfun game we've played. Will not be purchasing any more of your games.

Wish the free play would have been longer. Enjoyed what there was.

Havent gotten far into this yet. You guys always ask for reviews before we even know if well like it. So far Im discouraged because there SO much time going from one scene to another. Never stopping..back and forth, back and forth. Also, the hidden objects are so tiny. Im usually good finding them, but these are very difficult because theyre barely there for the eye to see.

This game has very slow responses, but this is okay after a long stressful day. Where is the map? Remembering each location is mildly annoying; however, the story is entertaining. An update would be extremely beneficial.

It was a good way to pass time but we did expect better :(.

Giving it 3 stars as so far found no technical issues. We agree with most, we feel like we are lumbering, trudging through this game. Not enough variation in the puzzles to keep us awake.

This must be an old school ERS game. This game needs a map. A climatic ending would have nice instead of deciding to stop. The end! The time wait between scenes was worse than online news about the top 10 somethings of the world. Sheesh.

Mostly running in many different places to encounter another old type of H.O……just names of items. TEDIOUS.

We agree with some of the reviews, it does seem like an old game. We kind of enjoy it any way.

This game is OK but has mediocre graphics for 2015. The story is good but not as gripping as we would have liked. We have other Big Fish published games that are more interesting and more polished. There is no fear experienced on our end from this game. In other games we have felt the urgency and the spookiness. This one just fell flat for us.

Interesting and something to do but clearly not the best of the series. There is one out after this called the 13 Keys that is the best of this series. No map and lots of running back and forth not a good combination. Voice overs but that's about it. Few mice in Hops so far L/M but haven't finished. We had a very sick Macaw to care for and played mostly to calm our nerves as we had already played on our Mac. Bird is better after we finally found a bird vet that was the hard part. A big shout out and lol and prayers to all. Snooper-158 PS Moonbeam here we thought our reviews were the only ones floating out in cyberspace. Sorry it started happening to you too.Snoop.

Been playing many years and this one is weak. Meaning story line is just plain boring. Hoa are simple , there is no challenge . We only got thru the free area and felt it was not worth going any farther. Needs a over write on this one. Bring it back to the drawing boards.

Great story and graphics!! We gave it 3/5 because there's NO MAP!! Maybe it comes later in the game because we only played the free trial. Still, if it does have a map, it should come before the end of the free trial.

We are enjoying this game because of the relaxed pace. We agree with some other reviewers that it might be an older game. The characters are Simlike and some items take more than a few taps to add to Inventory. The Hint and Skip work well, and most inventory items are well labeled. So far, none of the puzzles are too difficult. Due to an earlier murder in the community of Sunnyvale, a mysterious house full of man eating vines keeps appearing and killing the townsfolk. You need to prove who the original murderer was to clear the town of evil. With a newer soundtrack and some updated artwork, we would have rated this more highly. However, it is still a little charming, and the artwork is clear thus far. An enjoyable pastime for a late evening.

We have played and loved other 'Fear for Sale' games on other platforms, so we thought we would try this one out. It's apparently an earlier version of the game engine. Unfortunately, we tend to rely heavily on the game map for travel, and also to tell us if we need to return to an area for further attention. This game has no map. We are admittedly spoiled, but the absence of this feature pretty much ruined the game for us.

Theres no map or other mini games; this is only a HO game. It definitely isnt worth $6.99.

This game seemed promising, interesting premise, but transitions are slow, relies almost entirely on HOGs, lots of scenes but often only one thing to find there, no map to speed moving around. In general probably an old game that Big Fish released as new. Not particularly fun.

It takes several seconds to go to another scene. If you must go back several scenes, you wait about 10 seconds each page. With no interactive map it takes days to get thru.

Final review: finished game. Even finished the bonus chapter, though we found ourselves using the Skip button because we Just. Didn't. Care. And wanted to get it over with. The slow transitions (twenty seconds!) made the game way too draggy. Sometimes you have to back up several steps, so it can end up taking minutes just to navigate. Unacceptable. Lowered rating accordingly. Gritted teeth to finish. Now to reward ourselves with something betterthere's a new Hidden Expedition game just released. Yay! Gonna get it while the introductory discount is still available. Revised review: they came back! Restoring stars from 1 to 4. Will now buy while price is low. May revise rating after completion. Original review below. It all began so well Right off the bat, a new thing: in addition to sliders for music volume and such, there is an adjustment for brightness and contrast. Yay! So many games have dark, muddy scenesthis is much easier on the eyes. Story is silly, of course (a ghostly house appearing, then kidnapping peoplereally?). But voice talent is pretty good, cutscene animations effective, Zoom works, HOS challenging but solvable (note to LynxMinx: very first scene has a rodent, but you don't have to touch it and it doesn't move), nice mix of other puzzles. Transitions are interminable and we haven't found a map (interactive or static), so play is rather slow. Still, showing plenty of potential. That is, until objects began to disappear from inventory. First a hammer, now a lens. Cannot proceed without them. Yes, we did go back to see if we could retrieve themno dice. Makes the game totally unplayable. Will not be buying despite introductory discount price.

If you enjoy waiting for scenes to load this is the game for you.

The further you go in this game, the slower it is to change to the next scene. NO MAP. Took forever to wander back and forth. Do not recommend.

This would have been a great game if it had a map. Too much back and forth, and we mean several back clicks to get to where you need to be. That may have even been ok if it didn't take forever to load the next screen. Almost quit a few times out of frustration.

No map, hint button slowly refreshes.

We purchased this game on sale but deleted it mid way through. It was plodding, took too long to load between locations, too much back & forth, no puzzles, and no teleporting map. Plot wasn't enough to keep us going either. Skip this one.

For those reviewers who say that this game feels old – you are right. We think it was released back in 2011 on PC. Played the demo and it was just OK; we've been spoiled by the transportable map in the newer games that help cut down the time of "getting someplace" in favor of "doing something". We decided to pass on this one and hope that Thursday's game is better. If you want to try some good games, check out Weird Park part 3 by Alawar, or Demon Hunter: Chronicles from Beyond by Artifex Mundi. We also loved Graven: Purple Moon Prophecy by G5. Also take a look at New York Mysteries: Secrets of the Mafia by Five-BN. Happy gaming.

We found that going places took so long to load and also you have to tap too many times to go anywhere. Seemed slow and somewhat boring.

If you like HOGs…then this is the game for you. However, we are spoiled by all the clever and talented game makers who throw in a variety for your brain to really chew on…not the same ole kinda game every time you open a scene. Or we should say, backtrack through countless scenes to pick up just one object and then reload 5 or six scenes to get back where you were….no map and the biggy…NO teleportation of any kind!! Stars are lost there for that major faux pas in this modern gamer world. Why is that the games with NO teleporting magic are the ones that take forever to load each scene? Elf Games…hope your next one beats this tiring game. Big hello to all the gang….good health and happy days ahead. Hossy.

We are not spending money on a game that seems as dated as this one and doesn't even have a map, let alone a teleport map. After playing all the amazing sophisticated games that have been put out, we think we will pass on this one. Elefun games can not compare to Mad Head, Eipix, Artifex Mundi or even the irrepressible ERS! Dream Team, play the G5 game Questerium! Lots of fun, and flawless play.

This game seems old! The graphics and gameplay feel like a game from 2 or 3 years ago. Only played the free trial and won't be purchasing this one unless we get extremely bored! No map, all HO scenes are just the regular find items from list. Graphics are clear but not very detailed and colors are muted. There are much better games available.

Too much back and forth. No map, multiple actions required to achieve desired result. Hidden object scenes are too difficult without the use of hints. Not buying this one. It does however, give a decent trial before deciding to buy. Pretty cheesy overall.

No map and to much back and forth not to have one! Maybe you get one after purchase but we're not taking that chance. Very irritating running back and forth and objects are not seen clearly. We had to use the hint button more times in the first 15 minutes than we ever have in any of BFs free trials. We look forward to these games every Monday and Thursday so we're really bummed it's as bad as it is. No go for us.

Really enjoying the story…..BUT….we have to tap on things multiple times to find them. A mop handle is NOT called a mop attachment. Theres no map. Im wasting time trying to sift through scenes to find our way back to a place. Im using hint too much to figure out what location to go to next.

Yet there are games 55% off for the same price of $2.99…please stop lying to your gamers… Just write deal.

This game seems like it was out many years ago. The artwork is fair. The hints are okay. No map. Lots of illogical moves. Lots of back and forth without direction. Puzzles that are tedious rather than challenging. Tapping on items often doesn't work, and when we ask for help, it shows us the item we just tapped on. Pretty boring. We'll pass. Tries again. Thought they might have improved it. Not so.

Omg, we fell asleep while waiting to go to another location. This game would have been great otherwise. It takes soooo long to load.

No map and the back and forth is miserable with the slow load time and how many scenes you have to go through to get 1 object then back through many more to do what you need. We paid for it but deleted it before we were done because of this.

What a complete mess of a game. No map, pointless running around, no real storyline of and substance. Thank Goodness, we didn't buy this one. Sure had looked forward to a good adventure/hidden object game, however, hopefully the next release will be awesome for us IPad users. KdBoots.

Greetings, Gamers: we've endured root canals that were less painful than this thing. There's so much wrong — and so very little right — that we're at a loss as where to begin. No map, lots of running all the way across town and back just for one item, puh-lenty of HOS (list only) grainy graphics, slow/no response to tapping…y'all are getting the picture, right? We couldn't even make it through the trial – and it seemed to last forever. So did our root canals, but at least we had painkillers for those! We swear, we were hoping that ghost house would grab us as we went by and end our misery! Did anybody else notice the bizarre flailing of arms and other weirdo body language inconsistent with the characters' speaking?! We've gotten nailed on a few purchases but not this one, not this time. Do yourselves a favor: Avoid this bomb. You can't seriously be that desperate to play a game. If you are, this will definitely cure you of that impulse. Here's hoping we meet under better gaming conditions next time. Until then, May the bomb-free stars light your way.

Talk about lack of truth in advertising! This game dates back to 2011 and boy does it show its age. Grainy, murky graphics make it nearly impossible to play. The general UI feels dated as well, and there's no way to turn off sparkles. It's so bad that we didn't even make it through the free section.

This was sooooobad….wished we had not bought this one…,no map….way too much back and forth…..sorry.

WAY WAY WAY too many HO scenes!!!! A balance of HO to puzzle to mystery is a great game…this thing is ALL HO. Just boring and overly designed. Not good gameplay at all. And SO much wasted opportunity of design! To overly design a game like this and not hide things in the intricate work is a waste. Really disappointing. And why no map?!?! Our goodness! If you are to make a game with SO much useless back and forth…provide a map.
