Community Insight:
FINALLY a BF game that isnt exactly the same as the rest. Graphics were great.
Had problem at the beginning with the lightbulb. We played this game long time ago this is the second time. Is to bad big fish is not producing any new games.
This game seemed different to the mainstream BF offerings in that it was an actual scary adventure without a ton of annoying and repetitive puzzles. There were some hidden object scenes but we were glad to see them so we could gain a much needed item. We liked the fact that it was not glaringly obvious what to do with each item. You had to wait some time to use some things. It was a long game with the Bonus chapter. Our only criticism is that the storyline was a little hard to follow with all the characters at the asylum. We couldnt figure out who was who at the end but the game was so much fun to play that the storyline was almost secondary.
We really like this game because it is fun to play. And has lots of information about it. We are 6 years old. Doziers buddy.
This is one of, if not our favorite game by Big Fish. It really truly gave us true fear!!! We were very happy to see it followed the original style of Big Fish Games. We are for sure purchasing True Fear: Forsaken Souls Part 2 in a few weeks when it is released for iOS.
It reminds us so much of ravenhearst, Such a great game we're waiting for part two.
This is the first time we've played a game like this….we usually play the Delicious Series with Emily. Since we've played them all, we were looking for something new….and, luckily, ended up with this! This game was great! Cool story, kept us interested, games weren't too difficult, but not so easy it was boring. Keep 'us coming.
Best game ever!!! Cant wait for forsaken souls 2.
It was an awesome game with a really good story line. Can't wait for part 2.
Good storyline, excellent puzzles, one of their best games. Look forward to playing the sequel.
We usually don't rate games but this game is worth it! We absolutely loved this game and cannot wait for part 2 to come out.
We really enjoyed this game more than most of the "ghost" stories that Big Fish puts out. Very little of the game is just straight out explained. You have to find as many notes as you can and put the pieces together yourself. We have played through 3 times just for the atmosphere this game creates. We hope it gets a sequel as soon as possible.
Great graphics. Story line got hard to follow but since it's a trilogy we'll let that slide. Easy to use the items. Great job.
If we are 8 we think we can play this game. We have seen The Grudge . So we can handle this game.
Alrighty, where to start? First of all, we've been playing BF games for quite a while. And this BF game is by far the most scariest of them all! We wouldn't dare you play this at night! It's really good graphics, has an ok storyline. We're saying the storylines ok because it's actually kinda confusing… Especially the ending! And the bonus chapter doesn't really give you answers either. There are a few scenes where you'll get that shiver feeling! We know from our experience. Like for example: in one part of the game you'll follow the creepy thing into a house. Then when your at the front door, you open the door, and peek inside. (the lights are off.) Then there's a coat rack in the middle of the room, but in the dark, it looks like that creepy things staring at you! Then we got that feeling and turned on the lights and figured out is was just a coat rack. Lol. So the game is creepy, fun, challenging, and pretty cool! We would suggest that people 10 and under don't play this game. We mean, take it from a 12-year old! That's really all we have to say! Hope our information is in the helpful section! Or favorable.
We love scary HO games and this one was very thrilling. Wow, we look forward to the sequel.
Awesome Game! Everything functioned properly, not too much of this or too little of that, some HO's are somewhat dark but to be expected in the game's atmosphere. Our only disappointment waiting for True Fear 2 to release ! We've been playing games from BF for many years via computer and IOS, and this is by far the most immersive game w/ a scary, straight-line "story" that we can remember playing. As, most of the games that claim to be "scary", have a few sudden, unexpected pop-up images that might make you jump, imho… True Fear is one game that we couldn't stop playing, or didn't want to stop anyway–and that has not happened in quite a while! For those who are like us that do not like games w/ demonic storylines, which are filled with enacting all types of demonic rituals just to play the game! Seemingly, some of the so-called scarier games have made a point to strictly move into the direction of being demonic over scary. We believe and pray the game's intent and thematic elements is based on a family's mysterious family tragedy w/ an actual scary storyline of a ghostly presence…something that we know, as a Christian, is not real! However, just as God exists, so does Satan… So, we don't want to play a game (and we've been led into games, which we stopped playing due to occult activity) that's theme is based solely on Satan, demons, etc., a true "evil" being; over that of what we know isn't true, scary ghosts or ghosts in general, according to God's Word! This is our review…not an invitation for debate or attack by an unBeliever! As, we no longer need to look at the comments or reviews b/c we finished the game; therefore, they will be seen by us and written for others, we guess! Thank you and God Bless!.
When we started looking for a new big fish game, we stumbled across this. We've always liked games that give us that little scare, and this gem hit all the right buttons! Our one little complaint was in the beginning when replacing the bulb. The game froze. A small issue, but easy enough to get around if you skip the tutorial. We can't wait for the sequel!! Hurry big fish.
Fun, and somewhat challenging. Not too short, and bonus material is good too. Enjoy.
The best game ever! Graphics are amazing! The title of this game has really earned its name. Can't wait till number 2.
This game is awesome, but now we wanna know how the story ends, hurry up n put out part 2.
Great game, graphics, and storyline. It kept us until the end.
Great game. Can't wait for #2 to come out.
This is a mystery and a fright movie. Creative puzzles, intuitive play – very rarely needed the guide. Chilling – definitely looking forward to part 2.
We rarely write reviews but we had to for this game. It is creepy as hell and very interesting. The game was pretty challenging but having the guide just in case was really helpful. We will absolutely be purchasing the sequel to this game when it comes out. Can't wait.
We have played many of these games, but true fear has been one of the best by far. It had great graphics and the story line is amazing. When we first started playing this game it creeped us out a bit and that to us is a major plus. We also liked the fact that it took us several days to get through the game, unlike other games we paid $6.99 for only to finished with in an hour. We are waiting patiently for part two and we're hoping they release it soon.
Please make a sequel you guys left us hanging it was a great game please sequel we want to know what happens.
First game we have played where we couldn't wait to see the end! Then we have to wait? Can't wait! Good game.
We love true fear but true fear2 and true fear3.
This game was one tough cookie. Had to consult a walkthrough on the bonus chapter. Lots of things to do and interact with. We do believe the game could have provided a few more clues on some of the mini games though. We had to skip a few because the goal was not clear. Some of the story line did not quite 'flow' but it was a good game overall. The thing that we didn't like was how it ended. Usually, the ending makes sense even though there might be a sequel later. This one ended abruptly and it just didn't make sense.
Absolutely love this game, can't wait for True Fear 2 – we need to continue the journey! Thnx for making a great game.
Bring on the sequel. We liked the story, it was interesting.
This such a thrilling game! It combines creepiness with a great story. We can't wait for pt 2.
We're so in love with this game, we played it twice. And that's not something we ever do. The graphics on this HO is amazing, we wish more games were so well crafted. We were actually scared by a couple of scenes in this game. We can not wait for part 2 to come out already. We feel like we have been waiting forever……please, please make it sooner than later.
This is one of the best games we've played. It was edgy and had an intriguing plot that kept us guessing till the end. Gorgeous graphics and a different approach to the hidden object games that was refreshing. Can't wait foe the sequel.
The developer is a new one to us, but we're hoping that we see more from them in the future. This is truly one of the scariest HO games we've played. Wonderfully done! Not cute, but gritty and keeps one on edge. If you're tired of the sweet helpers and want a game that makes you afraid to go into the next room, this is it.
Music was very suspenseful and hints were fast . For an old game should have been cheaper to buy.
This takes us back to the 13 skulls game. More interactive and mystery than hidden object. We dont like the over kill of hidden object scenes and if you are like us, wanting more of that figuring out aspect, this game is for you. This was scary, long, and had a great story line. We gave it four stars because we did not get closure from the ending. Part 2.
Ok, here we were looking for a new game in the big fish areas where they have all of the scary games we came upon this game and it was far most scariest when we had to follow that lady into the house.
In the mood for a little creepy? So far nothing hokey in this one, just fun and a little freaky. Not boring or same old same old. Good fun.
We liked the game but its a to be continued…and was released 3years ago.
It is spooky, story line could have been better it is a bit vague about the bigger picture but might be good setup for 2nd, we played bonus game as well. Good graphics with a few scary parts, the rest is a basic hidden game with some good puzzles.
We liked that the difficulty was higher than most games of this type. The graphics and theme weren't very appealing. It ended very abruptly and even the bonus chapter lacked resolution.
Overall we really liked the game and thought it was well worth the price. We like scary hidden object games and this one fit the bill. Some issues we do want to share are: – Screen froze on the very first task of replacing a light bulb. Was able to get around it but still frustrating. – Have to sort of double tap on inventory items to get the label to appear. Kind of awkward. – Going back one level only requires one tap (should be two) which means you are always going back one level when you tap once too close to the bottom of the screen. – Had a problem with the "painting the picture of the knight" puzzle. The hilt of the sword has to be red but the only color it would allow us to use was green. Because of that we couldn't complete the puzzle and was forced to skip the puzzle in order to receive the painting. -did not like the ending in the bonus section. It was very abrupt. Could have wrapped the story up better even if they are setting things up for a sequel.
Fun game with interesting puzzles.
This is probably the most boring game we've ever played from bf. Couldn't wait for it to be over. Started off fun, but then It's just the same crap forever on end.
We really loved the game. It kept us intriguing until the end of the free trial, so we bought it, however, it kept crashing everytime we tried to continue the story. Can you fix it.
We played this game a couple months ago, and we kind of forgot about it (we really liked it, though, and wanted to buy the full thing). We came back to it the other day, and it crashes after we press start. We even bought it for the sale going on, but we cant play it. One extra star for the time we did play, but until the crashing issue is fixed, we cant rate much more.
We just installed it and it wont start.
