Words are hidden in a grid, but the monkey wrench in the quiz that will tease and challenge you is that before you can find the words, you need to work out what they are!
Each puzzle consists of a grid of hexagonal tiles with letters. Some tiles are shaded; these are the first letters of the clues that fit into the categories at the top of the screen (swipe sideways to see more categories). Trace or tap a path of connected tiles to select letters and spell out an answer. If your answer matches one of the clues spelling out the word, the tiles disappear and you will find yourself closer to solving the puzzle. Use your brain to hunt for all the clues to clear the tiles and win!
Monkey Wrench comes with one free bundle of 25 puzzles (with more puzzle packs available for purchase) and the three most recent daily puzzles are also available. Every puzzle has three difficulty levels – find the right one to tease and challenge your brain:
EASY shows you all the full answers to the clues you need to search for.
MEDIUM shows you only the first letters of each word.

Only thing we would suggest is showing all daily puzzles available on one screen, as they are in 7 Little Words.
Simply a great game! Helps with spelling and vocabulary, plus recalling current events, famous names, Infectious,etc. Play ityoull get hooked! ( Dont know why its called Monkey Wrench ).
We played the daily game and clicked on next for the bonus and the screen went blank and we cannot get it to resume, is there something you can do to felt us.
Recently this app has started to override our silent mode again. The first free game we play is silent, then after it runs an ad, the next game has sound, which we dont want. Sometimes ads dont load properly and we have a black screen until we restart the ap. The sound thing has been a persistent problem but the ad crashes are new. Some ads dont actually conclude at all, just sit there until we restart the ap. This is all making it less and less worth playing the game.
So sick of a solid black screen when we open this app. Cannot get it to go away.
Deleted game. Will not play any of your games.
We play Monkey Wrench everyday. It helps to stretch our mind,which is important at 75. Everyday the challenge level fluctuates from puzzle to puzzle.

We love the game and have made many in app purchases over time. All of a sudden the game stopped working/loading and we get nothing but a black screen when we try to open it.

We love playing this game. We are often surprised by the answers. However, it jammed on us the other day so we had to delete the icon and re-install. We used to be able to play limitless games but now only get four a day. Wish we could go back. Jackie.
We love monkey wrench! Its a fun game that makes you think. You can play it by yourself or as a group. Our boyfriend and we play it every time we go out to dinner. While we are waiting for our food we see how many answers we can get. Its always fun.

We used to play daily. We dont any longer due to blaring ads. We dont mind watching silent ads, but will not watch anything that blares at us! We immediately exit the app and go to a different game. Eventually we delete app if it continues.
This is a fun and challenging diversion, but we have one small gripe. Part of the object of these games is to sharpen the mind and even teach a little. However, when the game names the states of Ohio and Idaho as bordering Canada, we cant help but wonder if anyone there owns a globe. KNOW YOUR SUBJECT.
One thing we dont like about this game and all other Blue Ox games is that in order to stop ads, you have to pay monthly. All our other daily games allowed us to pay a one time charge, usually around $1.99. Also, we keep getting blank screens that never come up with an ad. We have to go out of the game and restart for the ad to work. This is happening regularly not only with this game but 7 Little Words, which is also a Blue Ox game.
We like the game, but would like if you add an indicator icon which displays which puzzles have/ have not been downloaded (similar to 7 Little Words).
To be more specific, we get that ads pay for the app but trying to close some of them after theyre over is a frustrating, sometimes impossible task! Ive has to delete and reload the app to finally get out of an app and back to the game. Im getting tired of it and may soon just delete permanently.
The whole app freezes if we click on anything. We cant play anything.
We love this game but have problems opening it when we reach certain levels. Ive tried deleting it and re-downloading it but it continually happens and we have to re-start at the very beginning with the tutorial. Im about to delete it for good since our frustration level is too high with it.
Love the game, but we play the three daily games every day, and after each of those games you have to sit through a long ad to play the next one. Ive purchased many level packs, but that doesnt remove ads, and theres no way to pay just to remove adsId pay $10-$15 given that we play every day.
Dislike that clues arent free…especially with often very obscure words And some of the categories are jut too obscure.
Its been impossible to get past the advertisements. Try to X out but just brings us to another page. Just dont have time for this nonsense.
There are ads for other apps. Some of them you cant get out of. You have to shut the iPad down. We love this word app but trying to get out of these ads is annoying.

We havent been able to open game for 4 days.
We have played this game (and loved it) for many years. The words you must find incorporate cultural references from Canada and the US (Im American). But all of a sudden our puzzles are full of British cultural references. Some are very obscure for a non-Brit (e.g., spaces on a UK Monopoly board). We did not recently download the game so Im wondering why we obviously now have the GB version.
Whats with the background voice ads popping in during Monkey Wrench game play. Have to restart game to eliminate them. Annoying.

We love Monkey Wrench, but we would be happy to pay a small fee to eliminate the ads.
We always play this but it freezes up and we have to delete and download it again. Very annoying. This keeps happening and we have to start over. We are tired of this happening so we are giving up until this problem is corrected.
We enjoy the format of this game very much. We even sprang for the subscription. But we see the same categories over and over with the same answers every time. Its getting stale. There have been more than 5 or 6 books set in Europe, guys. It has gotten so that we dont even have to look at the clues anymore. We can just look through the letters and find the same old answers every time.
We can play one game and then we need to shut down our iPad and reopen. We purchased extra games in hopes that we could play more than one game. Monkey Wrench worked well until this year, 2021. Disappointed.
