Player Experience Highlights

Community Insight:

We love this rendition of the game. It has the classic feel and mechanics we remember from similar games in the early 90s. Its fun, soothing, and addictive enough that we play 5-10 rounds in a row very few months.

Buy low, sell high, no frills, all game. Love this stuff dude, great work. We wish there was more. Id pay $5.00 for a sequel with no IAP like this one. Well done again.

Coming back after having seen the leaderboards it wont update our networth we have 11,000,000,000,000,000,000 net worth in our most recent run but it says 64,000,000 on leaderboard.

First time playing, love it. Investment concept is cool. However, we think that features such as human transportation and planetary operations would fit very nice in the game and make it more interesting. Crew spaceships could be added, and space stations, generating some passive income. Also it would be very nice if players had an opportunity to assemble own spaceships from parts. Thank you.

Seems like deleting, then reinstalling fixes whatever the crash bugs were.

Finally a game that teaches, business skills. In other games you have to have the full asking price for upgrades, in this game you cant get a mortgage for a new ship, leveraging up to be able to haul more products for trade! We also love the ability to build up a stock portfolio generating extra income.

This game is hands down awesome and hilariously realistic to real world personal financial investing. If you are into space trading games, this is definitely a must try! We think they must have fixed all the glitches previously mentioned because it played very smoothly for us.

This is an amazingly fun and addictive game, even if it is repetitive after a while. The challenge becomes seeing how much money you can make and what happens with different trading strategies. Should we hold onto our gold? Is this a good time to trade off our stocks? What if we hold onto our stocks during the worst of times? In its own special and fun way it teaches asset management basics. It is a bit glitchy at times, but its not game stopping or progress losing.

We really enjoy this game. It's a bit short and has a few bugs, but overall it is very fun for a few hours.

Absolutely love this game. If it werent for the glitches we would continue to play non stop. Please fix the glitches. Please make a sequel. Id pay to play another game just like this but updated with new ships. New places to go. Perhaps out of our solar system. Use Star Trek as a guide and make warp drives or use stargate as a guide and use FTL drives. To be able to update and customize the ships. Update and customize home base. You could really make another one and it would be a hit.

Just like this reviews title this game is a keeper and we're not lying about it, for us we did not encounter bugs or crashes for us. By far, this game is entertaining also the best part about this game is that there is no adds what so ever, one of many reasons our star rate is at 5 stars. We find this game to help pass the time by such as long car rides or waiting for your work shift to start. The gameplay is cool and interesting also with a nostalgic retro look to it. This is a great trading game in our opinion, also with our favorite style in mind which is Space type games. We highly recommend this game for it is easy to grasp how to play, for us it was, anyways we really enjoyed the game. ITS FREE WHICH IS GREAT! (To developer(s)) we would like to see some additional content though, im sure that you are working hard on improving this game as it is or other projects. We have some ideas to add to the game. First would be having an upgrading system of ship and or customizing your ship. For example like upgrading ships cargo capacity, then it shows a physical addition to the ship for upgrading the capacity of the cargo. For the customization idea would be like changing the color of your ship and or having different color designs or schemes. Second would be when traveling to other planets have like one or two ships pass by in the distance, but not every time you travel to another planet. Like if the trip is a very long one such as 12-16 months a ship would pass by in the distance. If that makes sense. Third would be to have more converted military ships (like one or two) into cargo vessels such as the one on mars where the torpedo war ship was converted into a cargo ship, we think that would be a cool addition to the game. Well those are our ideas and or opinions for the addition to the game that would make it even more great in its greatness. Also we hope this review is worthy of the developers response because we would like to know what you guys think about our ideas.

Great old school trading game, we love it.

We enjoyed the games setup and retro leaning. Its a good interface but more than a bit buggy on our third or fourth time of playing it. In game time we got to around 500 months in and it started crashing. Many times the crashes cost us dearly in gameplay time. We hope the bugs can be exterminated soon. We enjoyed playing until all the crashes. Update: we closed previous game and started over. All went well until we mistakenly tapped engage on the second (glitch) cancel/engage option that often comes up when traveling between bases. After that the game often crashed when traveling to another base. We eventually ended that game and started again. This is a little glitch that can certainly stop any significant forward progress in the game. The game itself is quite enjoyable in play. Im sure with the fixing of this glitch it will be thoroughly enjoyable.

This is a fun game so far! Has a retro vibe. Great.

We havent even started playing this game (so there may be some bugs Im not aware of), but we can tell you that Im super excited. The second we saw the first few shots we recognized it as a game we had back in the day on our palm pilot (and we mean back in the day, like almost two decades?). We loved that game and we cant wait to play it again, but in better color! And what seems like added features! Now if we could only find the Star Trek space battle game we used to play on it too.

Really enjoying this game, great mechanics and balance.

Ever since the PalmPilot game Space Trader Ive been searching for the next-best equivalent. So we stumbled onto this one. Its a really great go at it and was a pleasure playing. It boats extra features such as financials and investments which is a cool feature but is missing the other aspects which made Space Trader so incredible: missions, more destinations, and ship and crew upgrades that included military engagements. This version is a lot of fun but its relatively simple with not much variation or excitement. Its predictable, albeit fun. Totally enjoyable but we just wish they developed it more. They focused on the trading aspect which was about 30% of the game, and they did that really well (though its severely limited to only our solar system and about ten destination). Overall lot of fun. Looking forward to the next installment that could include piracy and broader destinations.

Its just like the old Space Trader game but no combat. We did not experience any bugs.

Love the retro graphics. UI is easy to use. Perfect for casual gamers. The only somewhat negative thing Id say about this is: 50/50 sometimes it will stop playing any music we have going on our preferred streaming service.

This game is so exilerating until late game youre just waiting for stocks to go up and spamming spice trades until you retire. Also gold stocks are useless. Its fun though if you make your own story out of it.

Please add ship battle upgrades like shields and weapons and have pirates attack.

We really love this game and the concept of it. It is fun and keeps us engaged. However, after beating the game twice or more times, it starts to get repetitive. We think that a lot more ships should be added, such as massive cargo ships that are billions of dollars. Right now, the late game has nothing to do with trading and you use the trading mechanism as an excuse to spend time waiting for stocks to go up. It would also be great if you could establish planetary operations that generate passive income or that give you resources without having to buy them, such as an aluminum plant that gives you free or extremely cheap aluminum. This can be balanced by giving each planet limited reserves. Also, add a multiplayer feature so that prices can be influenced by player actions. You can also maybe add a new system or systems, such as Alpha Centauri. Going really far here, maybe you could build power plants and stain spheres to produce power for the factories we talked about above, or just to sell to other players. Thanks for this great game and keep up the awesome work.

This game reminds us of some classic games on Palm OS that had the same game play style. Very fun! Only a minor bug, which is that after you get a pass to go to Jupiter and beyond, a dialogue box consistently appears asking you to accept a journey you didn't select. This bug fix would greatly help the later gameplay, but it's still an excellent game.

This game is very fun to play but it is extremely unstable, especially when traveling.

Just a fun game. Good for those who like making business choices. Just fun.

So after a while we got bored. We think the game needs more variety in the random situations, as well as the goods available on each planet. We think there should be enough variety that a person will encounter a novel product or situation no matter how many months theyve been flying. Perhaps an ongoing writing team.

Um… Is there a way to get money in this game? …??? Btw we have an iPad mini 2 so we hope that helps.

Love the game. As we progress in the game, the lag increases and the app crashes more often during travel causing loss in current cash and trade values. Really fun strategic game but the bugs need to be fixed. Its really frustrating having to reopen the app over and over again within a couple minutes.

We like this game because it is easy to play but after a while the game starts to present a confirm box to the same, or often different, destination in the middle of a trip (after that trip was confirmed). Once your wealth gets into the billions, it becomes very frequent. At some point later, it just crashes. It could use some variations from game to game as to what each planet imports or exports. After you've played a while, and start a new game, it sticks you into the tutorial without option to bypass. This game is addictive, if somewhat mind numbing – a solitaire feel. We would definitely give it a five if it werent for these issues.

This is a good basic space trading game set apart by some sophisticated economics we havent seen elsewhere. The Financials and Investing screens are super cool, although not much integrated with the rest of the gameplay. (And gold seems like a curious investment option, wouldnt plutonium or vibranium have been more thematic? It can be buggy, which has been commented on in other reviews. Our main gripe is that play becomes less, not more interesting when you reach the outer planets. Travel times get so long that it slows the game to a crawl; its nearly impossible reach Uranus, Neptune & Pluto in time to exploit commodity surpluses & shortages. The bones of a good game are here, with some intriguing features but it needs more development to become outstanding.

We got tired of all the other games and genres. This was an amazing find. We were hooked immediately and enjoy the strategy. Here are the bugs that keep it from 5 stars: While traveling random boxes appear asking if youre ready to go to another planet, as if you havent left. Screens start lagging during travel. Crashes happen after arriving and trading causing you to go back to previous planet and lose multimillion dollar deals since markets and planet alignments are changed again. When sound is disabled it will turn back on each time game is opened or crashes.

This is a game that takes the drug wars kind of theme and makes it accessible to all ages with additional features that are unique (like investments). Im impressed with the quality of the game to start, but something makes the game breakdown once youve added a lot of mileage on your ship (Im on month 1807). We have an iPhone 6s Plus – equipped with plenty of memory considering the simple graphics of the game. We believe it starts to run out of memory due to the investment graphs but could be wrong. When we attempt to set sale for another planet, it starts to lag severely and ends up crashing. We rebooted our iPhone to see if that would help, but no dice. We also noticed that it will prompt to travel to a planet (sometimes different than the intended) after embarking. You must hit cancel, or it will get confused during the countdown. Youll have to kill the app to get it out of this state. What we love: – simple game that begs for one more turn – trading mechanism thats from a familiar genre – investment mechanism, though its easy to exploit – whimsical graphics adds to the novelty of the game What we frown upon: – memory leak based crashes making continuing unplayable – limited random encounters (makes for redundant play) – market volatility can be exploited because bonds ARE steady; we make billions in dividends with little worry – no pirates to fight (thatd be a great addition) – no ship customizations (speed, weapons, cargo hold, etc.); lots of potential here – more destinations would be nice to add variety Overall, its starts off as a great game but needs some programming TLC to cement it as one of the greats. Im looking forward to enhancements to put this game over the top.

This is a really great game, and we really really want to keep playing it. Problem is that as soon as we hit 1mill in investments it lags so much and crashes every time we try to travel. Not only does the game die, it also bills us for our travel costs, even though we never actually reached our destination. At this point our game is bricked until there is hopefully a fix. So enjoy yourself up to 1 mill, then dont be surprised if it crushes your hopes and dreams from then on.

You can only buy you no can sale how you make money.

It opens to a splash screen with a double circle and then closes without ever actually opening the app. Also, weirdly, the app shows as downloaded at the Apple App Store but is nowhere in our phone.

Wonderful game. But please fix this bug, only fixes 3,700kg instead of what ought to be 37k kg.

Great little gem among a giant mound of garbage that is mobile gaming. Honestly love this game and we'll likely keep playing it for quite a while. Only complaint is that there could be a small bit of more content for random events, ships and locations- also could do with more info regarding what sells for what where.

It's a good game but the EarthGov Estate needs to be fixed it holds less cargo than the EarthGov colony.

We've always found it hard to find a nice, simple space trading game. Most games tend to overcomplicate their controls, or barely give any hint as to what you're doing. Not to mention, sometimes they don't really give you an incentive, other than being really rich. We think this game really takes a nice and fresh approach with this genre! We also appreciate the mechanics, such as debt, travel times, and price changes. We highly recommend this game.

Is a good little game, some really cool mechanics with orbits and travel times, but too easy to win, not enough goes wrong and profit margins are way too large. With almost zero effort and only an hour in we're already very wealthy. And we would expect slightly more depth and replability for the $3.99 cost. Also, music is good, but buggy and app forces audio focus.

We had fun! We're no expert on actual trading/investing, but this felt like a perfect balance between realism and simplicity. (Maybe it's a bit weighted in the player's favor, but losing money all the time probably wouldn't be as fun.) we're also a huge fan of the sound design and general aesthetic. However, as the game progresses and you gain lots of money, the game gets glitchier and buggier. Sadly the organic music is the first thing to suffer, stuttering and eventually stopping altogether. Interestingly enough, this can also have an effect on our music playing in Spotify. As the game goes on, the music glitches are joined with problems in travel time. First just some stutters, then freezing a bit and eventually some trips crash the game. Our current game we might have to abandon is at the point where a 12 month trip to Pluto crashes every single time. We hope this game gets some bug fixes soon.

Im genuinely impressed, this game has a excellent blend of complexity and simplicity. Additionally pays good tribute to a under appreciated retro style that we can't help but love. We definitely advise trying it out. Just don't expect to be have free time ever again once your hooked.
