Overall, we really enjoy this game and the ability to play through iMessage. The only issue we have is that landscape mode is unusable. If there was one complaint we have, that would be it. Everything else is perfect – sometimes simple is best.
Would like to use the premium offer that they showed us we could sample. Wouldnt work.
We dont know what engine it uses but we are challenged at Level 4! We can beat StockFish, at level 7.

It's non obstructive jus chill play chess.
We enjoy playing chess and the only thing it lacks is ability to save the game.
Game crashes often and doesnt report opponent plays. Cant email support.
Cant play with your friends unless its through a text message. Cant play through the app.
Not letting us do a queen-side castle. Inability to make legal moves really ruins the game.
Love this app; great features including resigning, offer draw, etc. Super easy to play.
Ive been looking for an app like this so we can play with our future wife while one of us it at work throughout the day. And any others dont notify us when she makes a move or constant adds we would pay for this app if we had to twenty stars cant say enough and its right in our messages with her too.
We really enjoyed this format. We can easily connect with our friends and play chess. One of our sons really likes to play chess, and we truck drive, so, we can play him multiple games and keep his skill up and also keep our relationship strong.
Played with our daughter over a two day trip. Great fun for both of us.
Since the iOS 15 update Ive been unable to play via text. Screen keeps blacking out.
A great and convenient way to play chess with friends.
We are suddenly getting a request to upgrade. We chose to pay for an upgrade and now get the same request after every move. Not fun! If you can fix this we would give you 5 stars. Fix this and it is great.
This WAS our favorite chess app. Until, it started asking us to upgrade EVERY SINGLE MOVE we MADE. So, O gave in and paid for an upgrade. BUT IT DIDNT CHANGE ANYTHING! It STILL asks us to upgrade every move. This is annoying in the least and dishonest as well, since we paid for the upgrade to stop the stupid promotions. Please fix the problem or reimburse our money.
We love playing this game with other iPhone users but recently its took a turn for the worse. Asking us to upgrade to premium after every single move we make even though we already upgraded.
Will be uninstalling this app now. After every single move we make while playing against the engine, a tab appears asking if we would like premium benefits, we click no thanks. But still am asked again after the next move we make.
Playing with AI is really fun and the interface is really good looking! Worth every penny of premium.

ChessME allows you to play chess anywhere. You could play with anyone in your messages or they have a board to play with friends in person. We would definitely recommend this app.

If u want an easy way to play chess on the go this is definitely it. Very user friendly, clean interface and no bugs. Would recommend to anyon, especially beginners because the hints can help you learn.
If you want to simply play chess with friends this is a better platform than chess.com.

This is such a great idea: we are playing daily with our son who goes to college across the country. Love, love, love this app.
And it was worth it. We wanted to have a quick match with someone that said he could beat us and this was the fastest way to play each other. Also, no ad popups or annoying upgrade messages. Were still in play. Ill let you know if we win.
It feels like you are playing real chess but your on ya phone.
More challenging than any of the other chess apps Ive played. Im still trying to beat the AI on Level 3.
If you have really wanted to play chess with a buddy this is the app for you,although if youre looking to play a super competitive game this is not the app for you. You can easily get destracted because you have to text your partner every time and weather youre on phone or tablet its easy to get destracted. Overall though we think its a great app and you should deffinitely give it a try.
Ive been using this app for 3 years. We have tried a few other options for iMessage Chess and ChessMe has the best UX and features by far. 4 stars because the UI is a bit glitchy at times (changing piece styles is very fiddly for example) and because we would like an infinite time mode for the 2-player board. We recommend this app.
Made some errors on our first game. No way to stop it and start another. Help.
We wish theyd add a rules list. Maybe in the paid for version you get one, but either Ive been playing chess wrong our whole life or this app has its own version of the rules.
