Community Insight:

Graphics are excellent. Storyline flows. Great adventure and fun.

Love the graphics. Just the right amount of HO to puzzles. Puzzles are fun and just the right degree of difficulty, not so hard as to get frustrated and give up. Story interesting and so are the characters. Thanks. More please. Please make more games compatible with our MAC BOOK PRO.

We wasn't sure about getting this game because of some of the earlier reviews but we're glad we did. The graphics are a little cartoon like but that doesn't bother us at all. We like the story and all the mini games fit the Sean which is nice. We also like the fact that it has a transporting map so you are not going back and forth constantly. The clues make sense and we have only had to use the hint button twice. It took us a minute to figure out that in order to go back to the dark room you have to push the bulb next to the hint button but besides that we have found this game to be very enjoyable.

Omg we just started playing and it's amazing.

Thoroughly enjoyed this game. Loved the characters and the different type of storyline. Also thought the hidden object scenes & puzzles were interactive & with variety. Very clever, as for developing photos. Nice teleporting map and a Great mystery! Definitely, looking forward to the sequel on this one. Many thanks to the developers & Big Fish for such an entertaining game. KdBoots.

Other than a few tedious mini games (and a portrait of Robert E. Lee that you might be able to spot if you are really observant) we really enjoyed this game.

We love this game and how it took advantage of the New Orleans ambience. Gameplay was very lengthy (6-7 hours with bonus chapter). There were a huge number of scenes, each with extraordinary detail. We were particularly impressed by the mini games, which were specific to the scenery, challenging, and truly innovative. The game is a little dated, but in this case the game would've been an absolute five if we played it three or four years ago. If the graphics were a bit sharper, the HOP touch screen were less squishy, and difficulty were customizable, we'd give it a five today. Our true rating is a 4.5, and we recommend it without hesitation.

Well, we love vampires "any which way we can get them." This plot is both refreshing and, in our opinion, original since it combines traditional horror with an intriguing murder mystery. You are investigating the history of a sinister family of murderers and their connection to vampires. The strategy of building backstory into the characters' behavior makes them more believable. An example of this perception is Beatrice Lefort, the sole surviving victim of that bizarre string of murders. Her facial expressions demonstrate acute senses of both fear and the anxiety over the possibility of harm striking out at her again, and her diary entries further exemplify these painful, haunting memories. Each location realistically portrays New Orleans in its finest style, such as with the beautifully preserved, mansion-like hotels containing relevant furnishings and decor; the cobblestone streets leading past the stunning architecture of the famous French Quarter, including the balconies that are adorned with intricate ironwork; the eerie above-ground tombs of the historic cemeteries, with freshly planted flowers and serpentine-like vines wrapping around; and a chilling House of Voodoo with spooky shrunken heads, occult-like skeletal remains of animals, and a fortune-telling machine. The graphics are unimpressive in that they are visually washed out and subdued; an overhaul is needed in order to fine-tune the sharpness and clarity of details. The colors lack vibrancy and saturation; the murky, overcast climate creates a fitting somber and dismal mood. You may not customize your settings; therefore, you will be frustrated by sparkles and random-search penalties. The inventory is labeled and interactive; items require assembly. Depending on your mode of difficulty, you might need to vacillate between modes in order to find active tasks. The HOS are comprised of several fashions; they are quite interactive, and they are presented to complement the storyline. We love the one where you find ingredients to create a Gris-Gris over the tombstone in the cemetery. The puzzles are cleverly executed and imaginative, and they suit the actions as you proceed; one such example is the game in the shop where you use a ball to manipulate a series of consecutive actions, such as moving a train along its path. The journal only records updated tasks; reading materials are acquired as you progress. You are given one set of collectibles, and they can be well camouflaged. Overall, this game has an enticing storyline, together with an ample amount of creativity; however, it is short of some desirable features, such as custom settings. Either way, we feel pulled into the storyline like a magnet; and we feel it is worth our time. Side Note: You might not realize that you need to return to the darkroom in order to develop a photo; at times, we did not have to snap a photo before initiating this process. We thought we were experiencing a glitch at one point. The hint, which we rarely use, told us to take a picture of the angel; but the camera would not activate. Before deleting and reinstalling, we returned to the darkroom to walk through the development steps, just in case this worked. A photo of the angel appeared. You can move directly to the darkroom by clicking the small lamp picture to the right of the hint button.

Game froze up after we took the photo in the attic, then in the dark room it told us we had no negatives to process.

This was a great game with all the standard features like a transporting map, collectibles, and a variety of hidden objects and mini-games. We enjoyed the New Orleans setting, and loved the characters and dialogue. We had no glitches in the main game at all, but if you don't get the ice tongs from the second murder scene in the bonus chapter before you move to the hospital front, you can't finish. Bummer.

This was an average game! Our actual rating is a generous 3.5 stars. At this point we appreciate the trials again, but we want better games. In addition, BigFish, please get your quality assurance under control. This game was glitchy! There were positive aspects to the game. We love New Orleans and the Art Deco period. The storyline was simple. There was no journal but objectives were regularly updated. The graphics were not fantastic; we wish they had been more vibrant and less cartoonish. You couldn't customize settings. Inventory was labeled and there were complex items to assemble. Loading was instantaneous between locations and there was a marked (if so chosen in settings) teleport map to transport you. At each location you must find a collectible Mardi Gras mask. We were thrilled not to have morphing objects or other collections. The HO puzzles had a little variation but were pretty unremarkable. It was a good thing you at times could play match-3 instead because we found it extremely difficult to combine inventory. There were a decent variety of puzzles and games: some of dexterity, others rotational and some codes. At least we wasn't so bored that we skipped them all. We did enjoy the camera and developing laboratory. In the bonus adventure you have a forensics kit. Surprisingly there were no rats, not that anyone warned us, but Dracyy hadn't played yet! We deducted stars for length (it was a short game), lack of a cohesive journal, and quality assurance (the game was slightly glitchy)! Happy New Year, DTE! Let's hold BigFish and other distributors to the highest standards this year as part of our New Year's resolutions! Forget weight! Nobody ever sticks to that one, lol! Lynxie sends lots of to KimTwilight, Izzyoc, Dracyy and the rest of the team.

We finished the game and bonus chapter in about 2 hours. Maybe we're asking too much, but we'd like a lot less movie and a lot more game. Also we cannot STAND having to do repetitive actions like developing the pictures. Enough. We get its a great bit of programming, once is enough.

We were enjoying playing this game until chapter 6 , like the other players when we stuck in developing in dark room. So we can not finish the game, nor playing the bounce chapter. Please fix this problem, and let us know. Thanks.

We did like the story behind this hidden object game, but the objects that we were supposed to combine together didn't work often. We would have to tap it several times. Then we would tap an area to go too and it wouldn't work so we kept thinking we were incorrect and we'd hit our hint button to find out we already hit it but it wasn't taking us to that area. Then some of the hidden object games were difficult, we played in casual mode but throughout the whole game not one area or item glimmered or lit up to inform us of where to touch!!! We play tons of these games and this one was in the top five worse ones.

The graphics are okay, but not great. The game is pretty lame. Develop a picture? Okay. HO scene has black spots were items go? Very lame. Go outside. Talk to an old woman. Get a charm. Lame. All in all, a pretty dull, lifeless game that seems like it was developed many years ago. We'll pass.

Great fun game till we got to the last photo to develop. No photo to develop. Major glitch. Can finish and not sure we want to start over just so this happens again. Makes us so mad when we pay and this is what we get.

The game overall seems stiff and not intuitive or logical. The screen resolution is poor, and not up to date. Also the trial is very short and we chose not to purchase this. We wish we could see more than a few reviews to see why this got an average of 4 stars. We question the objectivity of some reviewers.

Again… 30% off is 4.99 40% off is 3.99 55% off is 2.99 65% off is 2.99…. Stop the false advertising…. We have been saying this for weeks now.. Guess BBB needs to get involved so sad how you have gone so downhill.

We're stuck on chapter 6 at the shed at the Carter's house. We can't develop the photo required to open the door. Getting the message "no negatives to develop". We can only give this game 1 star until this glitch is fixed.

We're in the Carter house and we took a picture. We went to the darkroom to develop the stupid photo and it said "we don't have the negatives." we went back to the screen we were on and we pressed on some doors and it said, "Let's see that photo." we pressed the hint button and it directed us to the darkroom. What?! Now we can't finish the game! Fix this so we can finish the game or give us our money back.

What is with Big Fish lately? Everything has gotten cheap. Like they are cutting corners now. This game is so annoying right off the bat. Why does it have a place where we can turn on the voices but the idiot chracter talks out loud to herself all the time? We deleted it.

We deleted this game three times and reloaded it….we still CANNOT get past the carter tomb…we want our money back.
