What Makes Fire Emblem Heroes Stand Out

Nintendo's hit strategy-RPG Fire Emblem series, which has been going strong for more than 30 years, continues its journey on smart devices.

Fight battles customized for touch screens and on-the-go play. Summon characters from across the Fire Emblem universe. Develop your Heroes' skills, and take them to new heights. This is your adventure—a Fire Emblem that's like nothing you've seen before!

This application is free to download and offers some optional in-app purchases.

■ An epic quest

The game features an ongoing, original story where new characters and dozens upon dozens of battle-tested Heroes from across the Fire Emblem universe meet.

There are over 2,700 story stages available as of August 2025! (This total includes all difficulty modes.) Clear these story stages and you'll earn Orbs, which are used for summoning Heroes.
New story chapters are added frequently, so don't miss out!

■ Intense battles

Take part in strategic turn-based battles streamlined for on-the-go play with maps that fit in the palm of your hand! You'll need to think hard about the advantages and disadvantages of each Hero's weapon…and even evaluate the map itself as you battle. Lead your army with easy touch-and-drag controls, including the ability to attack by simply swiping an ally over an enemy.

New to strategic turn-based battles? Don't worry! Use the Auto-Battle option to have your characters fight on their own.

■ Strengthen your favorite Heroes

There are many ways to strengthen your allies: leveling, skills, weapons, equipable items, and more. Take your characters to greater and greater heights as you battle for victory.

■ Replayable modes

In addition to the main story, there are many other modes where you can strengthen your allies, compete against other players, and more.

■ Original characters meet legendary Heroes

The game features numerous Hero characters from the Fire Emblem series and brand-new characters created by artists Yusuke Kozaki, Shigeki Maeshima, and Yoshiku. Some Heroes will fight at your side as allies, while others may stand in your way as fierce enemies to be defeated and added to your army.

Community Insight:

We love this so much we love book 7 to love it ! Im trying to to get asker pls ! Put elm on tempest trails pls our sister wants him there.

Theres a bug where bundle of energy Mae icon is her icon from certain events like the tap tap music event and we tried going to the settings and doing different things and nothing has worked out so far and its only that Mae no other character we own has this problem.

The walls of texts for skills and the blatant irrelevance of units as far back as just a year is ruining the game the game needs complete rework cuz as of now its not about your skill in strategy but the skills your units have and how much youre willing to spend on orbs to attain said units and skills for now this game will just be a glorified collection of our fav Fire Emblem characters nothing more.

We havent played a Fire Emblem in years. Happy its not broke and busted.

This is an amazing game! The gameplay is really fun and the designs of the heroes original characters are superb! Definitely recommend this game.

We played many hours to different FE games, we kindly remember our brothers and we playing The Geneology of The Holy War choosing our favorite units to train, enjoying the story and learning a bit of strategy. This game is one of the fairest and best Gacha out there so no need to become a whale hehe. Great quality content and the art is magnificent.

Fire Emblem Heroes is a perfect idea executed really well. It simplifies and scales down the game design of the most recent entries in the main series when it launched without losing any of its depth. Group that with the massive overarching cast of the franchise along with new characters featured in a long running story, and you have yourself a game that feels rewarding and able to last you literal years on and off. The original soundtrack is on par if not better with some tracks in the main franchise, and the art given to the numerous characters and even their alternative versions is beautiful. As with any game that has been updated over many years, Fire Emblem Heroes has indeed faced power creep, and you can tell when there are points when new content update and other additions or slower to come over some periods. However, the game has remained active for many years and deserves its continued support.

ITS PEAK, young camylla's cnny is the epitome of greatness.

Despite the exploitation of human psychological vulnerability, this game is about as perfect as they come in the genre.

Ill start this off by saying we hate mobile games. But we thought Id give this a try because we really like the Fire Emblem games. Unfortunately, this is no different than any other mobile game Ive tried. 100% designed to drain peoples wallets. Completely overwhelming amount of stuff but surprisingly little substance It just has everything we hate about mobile games and nothing we like about the Fire Emblem games (the compelling story, relationship building, etc.) we like the artwork though, and it does have some of the Fire Emblem strategy in the fights, so Ill give it 2 stars for that.

Big downloads but worth it if you like the style of game.

Played at launch and made a pretty dignified stance in arena. Returning to see what advancements theyve made. Long love Nintendo.

An amazing game! Im a huge fan of the series, and glad that they could make a game with almost every character! Just two problems we wanna warn people before installing: 1. Eventually, you will run outta orbs. You wont be able to get them consistently, which means less summoning, so every new character gets harder and harder to get, to the point where there is no point in summoning 2. Sexualization its a big problem within games. And it took a while to hit this game, but eventually it did. Its just an easy way to make money off people. So if you have a kid playing this game, just be wary about that. Besides those two things, amazing game! 10/10.

Every time we tap something that is not a button or Feh on the home screen (so basically any hero) it freezes.

Been playing since launch, and held on long after all our friends quit. Im throwing in the towel. The game is no longer enjoyable with the ridiculous power creep and the requirement to read/analyze walls of texts every combat.

Here are some character ideas, Sombrom we wished we could play as him. Emblem Veronica, its in the engage dlc and we would be fun to see an emblem from this game. Thats it.

So we are a massive fan of the fire emblem franchise, and have played all the games. We had played this game since day one, and played until January this year. The stories are alright, they lack a lot of depth other mobile games have. The best the game got for its story was book 3, but the ending really fell apart. The original characters have really grown on us, though some of them are pretty shallow compared to the characters from the mainline games. The gameplay is really fun, being able to move your characters across maps to face the enemy. Though it does lack some of the things we really love about the standard games. The character collection aspect is amazing, the art is fantastic, and especially if you are a franchise fan, will love the amount of characters to collect. What ended up pushing us away was the insane powercreep, and this game catering more to spenders. They keep locking banners behind the feh pass, which just really grinds our gears. Every other week we get characters with essays of texts that totally eclipse previous overpowered characters. Though we do recommend this game, there is a good amount of content, and if you play casually it can be very fun to collect a wide assortment of characters.

Im still having a good time playing after years of doing so. The skills have gotten pretty nuts, though. Its a bit a of headache, so we only play PvE. Wish they would finally let you quickly skip through dialogue, we find ourselves skipping it because it really drags out the experience. Its extremely noticeable when you get the lvl 40 dialogues and youre stuck on the home page trying to tap through them.

Its a good game, awesome for fans of the franchise. ALSO ITS NOT P2W. Not a dime has been spent from us.

Game seems wonderful so far but still early on. We will update later.

We love this game and we love the fact that Im being introduced to other characters from the franchise Ive never gotten to play with please keep this game going we refuse to give it up lol bring on more battles against the gods.

This game might be dying but we will enjoy the last few years or months before end of service.

Used to be very balanced but now you get power creeped by some broken unit every month. Also you have to spend a lot of money to get the new units. Ive played other gachas that were far more forgiving.

On rank 2 we have to study "Effective Attacks" Which is fine but It's impossible to beat.

We have only book 9 left to go through and when we finish it there will be no more books to go through and we will be sad to be finished with this awesome game because we absolutely love this game and the DS game Fire Emblem Awakening so please make some more books to play through.

Ive been playing FEH since launch and Ive never had this many issues with the game freezing. We checked to make sure it wasnt our internet or phone. If try to collect our gifts, tap on a character on our home screen, level up, go to the arena, summon, doesnt matter, half the time the game gets stuck on the loading symbol and we have to quit to restart. It ran better on our iPhone 7, which is sad to admit. Other than that great game, even as a casual player its fun to see our favorite characters from the series get new costumes and interactions with others. Some amazing artwork too, you can tell a lot of them were made with love. Just wish we could play for more than 5 minutes at a time.

They will keep introducing new characters with overpowered skills every two weeks or so making the old ones powerless against them. Even if you pay to get some new ones, there will be more new ones just a week or two later to nullify and outdated the ones you just got. And they keep doing this forever. The kus side is the artwork is pretty and voice actors generally do a good job but they usually only do five sentences or so. It is not at all worth the endless money you have to spend to play the game. And the game is basically unplayable without their subscription, the feh pass. Its just shiny gacha cow milking with this game. Game ok ay never really changed at all. Its like a chino form of a real fire emblem game. Stick to the real ones and avoid this like the plague. This is just a scam game at its finest.

Just got a 5star felt gooooood.

Such an amazing game. Theres tons of great characters and powerful ones too. Just increase the luck on getting a 5 star hero. Thank you.

We love this game. We started playing it when we were in high school. Fire Emblem has been one of our favorite Nintendo IPs. The art and voice acting in this game is genuinely one of the main reasons we kept playing it. We took a break from the game for about a year though and just recently came back. Im not surprised to see that the power creep is still immense. Characters we built the last time we played that were actually really good are almost completely obsolete. Almost every new main banner character has some insane weapon with nearly an entire novels worth of skills. Canto and special cooldown are absolutely everywhere. Im seeing more and more characters with abilities that allow them to solo an entire enemy team on the first turn. It is a gacha game at its core so we guess its to be expected But aside from that, we still enjoy the game. Its fun to see what other people do to build up their own characters.

Awesome graphics great game play great story lines. Kool characters. Great characters designs.

We love this game, we play it every day, the consistency of challenge and fun is unmatched, the meta changes regularly so you dont run into something so stupid and broken it ruins the game, darktina coff coff, the story is engaging the characters are novel and its got beautiful art.

This game is very fun but complex, see title for more details. A large part of the game mechanics are unexplained and this that are usually have you staring down a wall of text longer than a masters thesis. We still dont know what stats actually do and Ive been playing for years. Here is our advice to new players get Felix the sword saint and give him some form of aoe special this negates most powercreep. Overall a very fun game with lots of strategy. Its like raid shadow legends without the rampant and suffocating capitalism. Im a free to play player and we have gotten very far.

We started Fire Emblems with Fire Emblem Engage, and the graphics certainly dont disappoint. The game is also just amazing in general, though you will be tempted to spend money.

The top review at the time of writing says you have to post money or you arent winning. The go on to talk about how they spent a bunch of money on Feh Pass, Resplendants (skins), and Orb packs, and still lost. Somehow that equates to money winning in their mind. The game is extremely generous to new players making it easy to get orbs and start pulling if you just play the story. Ive barely spent money on this game, just the occasional month or two of Feh pass, mostly for convenience. The banners have pretty good odds compared to most other gachas, and most of them let you spark (pick a unit on the banner for free after 40 summons, ~180 orbs). This guy was losing because he didnt actually understand the units or the strategy, and was just throwing stuff out. This is how a lot of people play because the game has evolved to be very complex, and powercreep and created a pretty centralized meta. Still, it requires a lot of planning, optimization, and a little creativity to play well. Its a strategy game after all. The game is a lot of fun and you can make most any unit do pretty well outside of the highest levels of PvP, and most players love spoiling their favorite units with resources and skills. Us and our friends have been playing for years and constantly debate what the best builds are for certain units and the like. If you feel lost and dont understand what makes a unit good or not, try joining the Discord and watch some Phoenixmaster1 videos on YouTube. Remember to save your orbs, do your weeklies, and most importantly, have fun.

There needs to be another fire emblem this version has been around for awhile Ive mastered every fire emblem they get better and better.

This game used to be so incredibly good, but now it has devolved into a power creep nightmare. Nothing makes sense, new characters and old characters are useless, and if you intend to play online against others, just be ready for the most one sided and infuriating experience because you will be fighting against pay to win A-holes.

Why am we missing heros in our Ally tab, like we just lost all of our progress that we put into them, and if thats how this game works then Im done playing a game where you just lose you high level characters that took time and effort just for nothing.

Weapon triangle doesnt matter anymore due to power creep . The skills/weapons of these units are the entire length of our phone, its become a pain at this point to read it. And so much math involved. Using old units not viable anymore and personally takes away some of the fun. Why put in effort to build up a unit when a new one can tear it down in a single attack? Ive been playing since the beginning but the last year has just been awful, can barely play anymore.

The game is really good if you are a hardcore fan of FE series since they have all heroes from all the games including the ones with special event theme. However, remove the IP, the actual gameplay is not much. It's kinda slow for progression since each hero have some kind of flaw and you have to find the right fodders only to complete 1 perfect hero. We think it could take months to complete 1 team of 4 for free players. Though the game is quite generous and you can actually complete the game with the team they provide, but to complete others is another story. And since the main point of the game is collecting FE heroes, if you are not a hardcore fan of FE like us, you can see some familiar faces and its not worth our time for the grinding. Still, it's worth for a try a least.

Just been looking at a loading screen for two days.

Its clear that in the past 2-3 years the development team has completely lost the plot or any interest in the semblance of balance for the game. After spending probably over $1,000 on the game since launch and being a paid subscriber we had to call it quits a few months ago. The unit skill designs have gotten so absolutely comical in how bad they are with scaling and powercreep that it has made a lot of the game unplayable (or, rather, very unpleasant to play). Its sad to say but Ive had to move on after seeing what the devs have been releasing. Good quality art, characters, and content in the game but the gameplay has become so bloated and ridiculous from what was supposed to be a simplified version of Fire Emblem. Im looking forward to the end of service of this game these days.

At the very beginning of this game, everything comes pretty easy. You get some free people and you have about one million orbs left to collect. How could you possibly run out?! Believe us, our friend, in around 8 months, they will be gone forever. After that, you pretty much just sit around and wait for updates so you can get more orbs. Its either that or pay a ton of money for a few orbs. Over all we love this game, but we feel like they should make more ways to get orbs, or at least make the orbs cheaper to buy. Thank you.

We keep coming back to enjoy the strategies. This most recent update added insane distance and Canto into the game. We are not a high ranking player or anything, but we enjoy the arena just the same. We havent spent a dime on this game. We dont see a mechanisms for your money to be anything more than increased pulls. The pass does allow you some guaranteed pulls, but we never felt compelled to purchase. There is a lot of content to play through, a lot. We basically come back every few weeks to see how our team holds up in the Arena. We play enough to build up some orbs to pull a few times on the banners. Even without the best characters we still enjoy our time. The combat is really what makes this game. The movement, the positioning, and the character skills. We played a bunch using savior type skills. Then we switched to heavy attack using a dance character to give us multiple turns. Now it seems like it is all about distance. How far away can you be a still initiate an attack? Felix is pretty crazy in this regard. Definitely some fun to be had.

Some people need to stop give bad ratings just because youre unlucky, please grow up.

Been playing since very early (Brave Ike was still meta without a refine), and its great. The pvp is pretty evil due to powercreep so we mostly just do PVE and easy PVP. Lots of text in kits (Prob the longest descriptions Ive seen in a game), but we dont even bother reading most lol. Ungabunga is working for us though. We just chill and collect our favorite characters (F2P is doable). The story is also decent. Stan Vero and Alfonse.

The game is making even legendary units obsolete now. No point in buying Forma souls or investing in new units when theyll be powercrept within a month and functionally useless for everything within a year.

Intelligent systems just released an update that makes it so any legendary unit that isnt one of the ten most recent ones instantly becomes useless in pvp. Just cancelled our subscription, nows a pretty bad time to start playing, and itll probably just get worse ngl.

We played this game since we were a freshman in high school around 2017 loved that they kept adding new things to the game to do with your characters sadly we started growing out of playing this game since after awhile we dont see ourselves dedicating to making builds of our characters and or doing repeats of events but it was a good game to get a feel on the fire emblem franchise it got us into three houses and fates in the process, this game will always be in our heart and also you can easily make a F2P account without spending money on this game you just gotta grind.
