Its the same idea as racing games where people will lose lap time just to wreck you. If time doesnt matter and were neck and neck 10/10 times im expecting an intentional foul. If both vessels were penalized but the protest vessel got the smaller foul, we beleive it would better simulate a crash that neither party wanted. Hopefully this would cut down on intentional fouls, sailing rules dont work if youre allowed to crash lol.
We really want to like it. Boats pointing higher and faster around you, while youre on the VMG mode. Instantaneous gybes onto Starboard causing fouls. People just luffing you up on the faster boat to get a foul on you. Mark roundings where the inside boat causes the foul? We try to play it but it just gets frustrating. Just in case youre about to say learn to sail/race. We were a professional racer from Lasers, J-24s, Farr 40s, solings to offshore races.
This game is so good. Its improved our sailing skills so much now in life we are doing so much better.
We wish they put optis in but sooooo fun.
Solid game. Not perfect but definitely the best sailing game out there right now.
Had a good amount of fun for a few games. Now we cant get into any challenge queues/lobbys. It was good while it lasted. Needs work.
We spent an hour or so with this app and completed the very basic drills . We wanted to try and sail around a practice course but was not able to figure out how to do this. We didnt want to pay and join a race until we understood how to at least read the course. No luck, too bad, this app looks like it would be great fun once you are over the learning curve.
We were a regular player who was on VR every day almost until we moved to the US, and since then the app simply does not start.
This game is very fun and we are a sailor ourselves so we actually use this for strategy and start practice every day. There could be improvements with stuff like the wind dynamics, it could change depending on the geography of the location with the frequency and magnitude of the shifts. They could also improve on content a bit, we would like some great sailing locations like Miami, lake garda, Marblehead, Bodrum, Nassau, and marl de plata in the game. We would also like to see boats like optimist dinghys because a lot of players in this game are optimist sailors, also moths, 420s, 29ers, and open skiffs. Finally we would like to see the course varietys improved a little more, both on length because we could get some realistic sailing on upwinds as long as 15 minutes instead of 2, and also courses like the triangle course, the trapezoid course, and some others. Please fix. We have iPad Pro and it used to work great but now it doesnt.
-The app crashes quite often, we cant finish or even start a race , but they still debit our token account. Not cool – a number of time we received penalty for no reason. Granted we were close to the start line or to another boat, but didnt cross early and complete maneuver without forcing the other to alter course. It seems like theres a mismatch between the visual and the actual size of boat – we m playing in an iPhone and the app closed on us many times during a race when we m pressing the buttons to close to the bottom of the screen. App interprets as swiping up to close the app. Its too sensitive, or button position is too close to the bottom edge.
The App does not start in iPhone (iOS 16).
The game would be great if it wasnt pay to win.

So Im a actual person that sails irl, and we think there is some real potential in this game for teaching, and some may complain since even if you hit a boat or foul someone you dont have to spin, you just kind of slow down and phases through whatever the foul was, but in reality its just making the game more fun and heres an example why the phasing through can actually be funny. Also before we give you the reason you can make specific races just to race friends, and family. Lets say you are playing with your family. And randomly you decide to just speed up and absolutely ram the judges boat and just slow down a lot, everybody will be laughing. We highly recommend this game for anybody that likes to do racing games or actually sails or teaches how to sail in irl. We really hope you enjoy this game to, chicken out( chicken out is not actually being afraid, but our sailboat name is Poisonous Chicken in irl, and we just thought it would be funny.
Game is unstable loading so that is a big problem and it semi-regularly takes your coins but does not enter you into the race. This could be a great sailing game as there are so few available but you can buy so many helps that the AI is mostly sailing your boat. Get rid of VMG and time to line options to make it more challenging and level the playing field. Steering your boat correctly is the biggest challenge in racing. Would also be nice if you could pick one boat, e.g. Laser or that hydrofoiling cat and just race it without having to register yourself. $8.99/month is a ridiculous price point for VIP in this game.
We've lost a lot of money with this game. It has a bug that when you click near the corner of the application window it moves as if it were going to close and the connection is lost and you are disconnected from the regatta losing the time that was in the regatta plus the coins you put to play the regatta with more resources. It has been like this for many years and no one fixes this bug. It's the only game we've seen that does this. Should position the buttons higher up and not let the application lose connection. It's very frustrating!!! Sometimes if you are in a good position then press the turn button and the application moves and loses the connection. Frustrating and makes you lose money.
This game is a lot of fun but lately it crashes and you hardly ever get to finish a full race. You spend tokens to get sailing info (best vmg, wind shadow, etc) and then it crashes and you lose your tokens. Not worth it anymore.
Wish we could give this game a better rating, but we just cant. It is a fun game to play and really is interesting, but the penalty system absolutely ruins it. So many players have bad sportsmanship and will intentionally crash into your boat and give you a penalty. It is absolutely outrageous, and we deleted the game because of it. This has happened at least twice in every single one of our races. Fix it, and we will redownload.
There should be a better explanation of directionTo keep it on Coors.

Fun game. Extremely frustrating that rule 13 and 14 are not enforced.
We love this game but there are so many things we did not notice at first that make it hard to get really good. We probably race 2 to 7 times a day if Ive got 10 minutes. We lose about 10 tokens a day and sometimes more due to glitches(-$). Starting line needs fixed with penalties over the line early being to harsh to continue racing for a top 7 in a 10 minute race,(unless your on a foiling hull with good tactics). We cant stop racing though, cant wait for no bugs. Other than $costly bugs and jacktards who battle for 10th when Im trying to drink beer, the racing is REAL.
Its the best there is out there. Im a sailor, Ive raced, Ive played video games this is more game than sailing. You cant run over your competitors on the water or things get wet for everyone real fast. They just need to think about the rules and what theyve created there has to be a better balance in how the games handles allowing one boat to just sail through another… For us, it was fun, but we had to delete the game because we just lost interest.
Extreme wind shifts are making the game unplayable. Reasonable shifts are great, but when wind goes 40 left followed by a swing 40 right of neutral, its hard to call the game realistic.
Very good but needs better controls and the wind physics are only OK. Also, can you add more of a ship customization feature? This is a very good game/app an we think anyone should get it.
The Good: this is an enjoyable racing game that has some real-world feel in tactics and strategy. It is definitely helping giving us some mental exercise in thinking about whole course thinking during pandemic and subsequent real-world sailing. The Feature Request: – Race Replay: If we could save/replay races, even reduced to the 2D map, this would be invaluable. We would be happy with this being a VIP feature. Any method of highlighting the good/bad from a race as well – like a Play of the Game, to let us see where the big gains were made. The Bad: – Rules Implementation: There seems to be some issues here around the idea of opportunity to keep clear leading to competitors using the rules as a cudgel. There are spots where the give way and keep clear boat switch very quickly without a clear reason. – Controls: Having one button for each direction with no adjustable sensitivity leads to situations where maneuvering is either too sensitive or not sensitive enough. There are far better control schemes out there for mobile games touch interfaces; using a gesture type slider with proportional control would be helpful to improve maneuvering. – The layout of action buttons (tack/gybe, vmg, luff, spin) could be clustered in a square rather than across the bottom of the screen, or provide the option to rearrange. Separate tack/gybe controls or actions (such as hold and flick up/down), as well as VMG upwind/downwind, spinnaker hoist/douse buttons would help avoid unintentional actions that ruin races. – Pay to Win: The monetization scheme feels all wrong. To pay for VIP features but still require further payment for reliable access to race help and design boosts is frustrating. To pay this much for a game that has such issues with controls, crashes/lags, rules implementation, and the fact that it feels like it hasnt received significant improvements to keep it up to mobile gaming standards in 2021 is frustrating.
We would like to see more sail control options. A lot of time if feels like you have to sail 90 degrees to the wind in order to move.
Make two buttons. Vmg upwind and vmg downwind. Its annoying to duck someone and to hit the vmg button which sends you straight down wind… Feel like this is something you can make as an option but would be preferred by tons of people.
Didnt get VIP features we paid for.
UPDATE: utter trash app. Constantly hangs or drops games now. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY WITHIN THIS APP we use our tokens for race helps, then we try to start the race. It hangs and/or send us back to the homepage and does not return the the tokens. So im constantly losing tokens without even being able to race or get the benefits that we spent the tokens for. This has gotten worse more recently and makes using this app incredibly frustrating.

Great game. Horrible bugs. Restarts constantly, crashes all the time. Dont spend any money buying race helps because they dont work. If they could fix this would be awesome but havent been able to yet.
Pretty cool game but the controls can sometimes be a little glitchy which can send you to the back of the fleet real fast. Overall its pretty fun and somewhat realistic.
The sailing and racing is amazing, however The rules system is completly broken. There is no penalties for giving room for duck, room to tack etc, and sometimes you will be given a penalty even thought you are the right of way boat. Completly ruins the game that there is no protest system and u are just given a penalty.
Everyone just does everything they can to get a penalty on the boat in front or next to them. No one races.

Fun way to keep the knife sharp when the real thing is under the shrink wrap for the winter.
This is one of our favorite games but the 2 things we would fix the most is that when you are under the line by about a boat length after go you are still called over early. Another thing is if our phone says we have 20% left and gets the notification it will kick us out of the game. As well as if we were to change our brightness or settings.
We love sailing, and racing sailboats. Been looking for a good racing app, and this is the best out there. One request: Can you make a game mode without any of the race helps, or make specific events (e.g. All Official eSailing World Championship related events) with disabled race helps? It seems silly to us that players who pay for the subscription, or horde tokens to splurge on specific events, get an upper hand. Its not a fair race unless you choose to pay the monthly subscription, and thus, this game is biased towards pay to win. Nobody should be able to perfectly time starts, have visibility on lay lines hundreds of meters out, automatically steer to the best possible VMG, or get special visibility on wind shadows and/or wind intelligence. Make it an even playing field. A racing game that gives a leg up to paying racers isnt very palatable if you really want to foster competition. Also, expect frequent crashes and random game freezes. Im rating this 3 stars until the level the playing field and fix the random bugs.
Maybe fix the disconnect issues, dont tell us its our connection either as we are often the last or one of the last boats to lock up. Pretty easy to tell when boats go past the mark to the map boundary. Get your sht together, get a back pack, and get it together. Get it all together and take it to the sht store or the sht museum, we dont care just get your sht together.
Im about two weeks into this game. This game has nothing to do with sailing or ethics… This game absolutely rewards people for tackling others. The game does zero to alert you that youll be penalized when this happens… Because there is so little time. Maybe Im just misinformed and this is how sailors fight each other. But if a boat turns hard off path and rams our boat, please explain why we get a penalty and they dont. Im not saying we are rounding a buoy or on tack… This is when we are in a dead heat and headed to finish, they hard cut to ram us. Trash game, played by trashy players.
Landlocked and loving the reality of being on the water. We finish last almost every time but Im happ and get out to do it again. Its a little hard to figure out the control of each boat but it gets easier over time. Definitely a learning curve. Wish the were an on deck perspective for the races. Thanks for getting us arm chair Ahabs back on the water.
The game and the gameplay itself are pretty fun, and actually require some level of strategy in the races. It is a big downside that you can only race in the cup theyve selected, for the amount of time it is open. It would be nice if there were cups available for each type of boat, all of the time. The VIP service is a total ripoff. You pay for a service, and basically get the ability to create races, adjust your controls, enhanced tech support, and some other pretty useless features. They also need to update the way the rules are implemented in the game, as there are many players that have learned how to exploit the system, causing others to get penalties and lose speed/progress.
Yall are thieves we purchased some coins to get vmg and the game has crashed about 20 times making us lose the coin without racing, how would you allow this to happen we. Your app. Fix the glitch that is costing your costumers money and do your job.

We spent a long time looking for a good sailing app and this is it! We would have given it 5 stars if there were more sailing options like an offline practice mode or something like that so we could get better with some of the boats we dont use as often. Other than that the game is great and a lot of fun.
Constantly losing connection in the middle of race, and gets errors saying no connection.
This is the greatest game we have ever played l. It is so fun. It reminds us of Racket Ball.
