Community Insight:
We enjoy this take on a solo card game. The rules are simple – get all of the dragon cards (symbols) to the top left columns (when all four of that symbol are showing you can send them to one open pile on the top left) and all of the numbered cards in order 1-9 in the top right (there are three suits, each of which can be stacked onto the other two but not upon the same suit). We think its very well designed, and particularly enjoy the lack of an undo button. Every time we think we have this mastered, we inevitably move too swiftly and mess something up, and have to abandon that game. It rewards patience, which is good for us to work on If the developer were to update and add a bit of content to this game, we would recommend the following: 1. Statistics – a screen for information on your win/lose statistics (you can see won games but no other stats), average hand time, fastest round, slowest round, etc. 2. The music is nice, for sure – it would be nice to be able to pause/turn off music and be able listen to other audio. 3. Im showing our game audio nerdiness here, butthe card sounds are all the same sound file, a little pitch and volume randomization would give a bit more of an organic feel to the cards. 5 stars for sure! We discovered this game through Shenzhen we/O (its a minigame in that game) and was thrilled to discover a standalone version here. Its a great game idea that has strong design and vibes behind it. Thank you.
This is a fun and clean version of solitaire we found while looking for kabufuda solitaire from the game Eliza. We really like this game and app! We do wish there was a settings menu where we could lower or mute the background music so we can play while listening to other things without the (admittedly nice and subtle) background music also playing. It would also be nice if the game explained more about dragon cards (that they look different for each suit, that they cant be stacked on other cards, etc). We know the devs arent making significant money on this app, but if these tweaks are at all possible, they would be very appreciated. Thank you.
We love this game. It is our idle loop activity many days. Having full information (all cards face up) is a great twist, and makes for a nice learning curve. The pricing model (with no ads!) is also great. Finally, many reviews are complaining about to way to mute the music. You can! Just click instructions and there is a speaker icon in the lower-left of the screen. Tapping it toggles the music. We would love similar access to Zachtronics other solitaire games.
Great solitaire game. Please put in an option to turn off the music.
Elegantly designed and deceptively difficult. A brilliant riff on the classic solitaire format. Excellent stuff.
First off, this is an extremely well-designed card game in its own right. The rules are simple, but it takes a lot of forethought to play well, and forces you to balance several different considerations at once. Unlike normal solitaire, about 98% of deals are theoretically winnable, so its normally your fault if you get stuck. The UI is very simple. We like that theres no undo button, because it forces you to think ahead more. Our only wish is that you could toggle the sound. If youre wearing headphones, you cant turn off the music.
Amazing solitaire variation, very challenging, minimalist by design. But please add ability to mute music we'd like to play while listening to podcasts.
Love this game. Wish it didn't use so much battery on our phone though (iPhone 6 plus). Could also use a way to turn off the music.
wish that it didn't give you unlimited tokens though. Kind of makes it too easy to just bail on hard games and doesn't give a sense of tension or progression. The way we would have it work is that you see how many wins you can get per ten tokens and then there could be a global leader board. We wouldn't be on it though, because we're too impatient to be good at the game. Fun anyway. Big thanks to the devs. P.s. We can't get the music to play. We always loved the music on the mac version.
We want to be able to lower the background music so we can listen to something else at the same time from our phone Even a mute button would work.
The game mechanics themselves are very clever and well-balanced. The UI is sufficient easy to use, polished enough to be pleasant. The one problem is that you cannot turn off the in-game soundtrack and listen to your own music while playing. Otherwise, this would be the perfect commuter game.
Very happy to see Shenzhen Solitaire on the App Store! Ive been enjoying the Steam version since it was released. How about an Android version so we can enjoy it on our phone.
We find that the text is just too small on the iPhone. Its difficult to play as is. It would be nice if it had an option to improve card face readability.
The game runs off tokens which means you can only play a single game once every few hours. Not worth the download size.
