As other reviewers have noted, this app awards wins on time to players without mating material. This is against the laws of chess and should be corrected. We strongly suspect that the guests are actually computers, as they all play the same, strange openings. Finally, the ratings are their own world. Do not think your rating on this app will translate into actual rated play (FIDE, your national chess federation). They are grossly higher than ratings outside the app.

Dont get us wrong we love playing chess and use this application as a platform to feed that desire. Now we have been using this app now for close to two years now, but after the partnership it seems like the game is a lot more focused orientated on making the creators money. The game used to be able to be played without the added addition of placing a bet before hand. No of course we dont really see a problem in that as we know it is away for the creators of the app to make money, but we do feel like there should be another means of playing games without having to place a bet or at least a way in which allows us to play more games.For us free to play players once we have ran out of coins and ads to watch you are left with no other choice but to wait for the next day to only be given just enough to play a few games with. If not that then you have to wait for more advertisements to watch for coins. Overall it is a great app and we we dont think we will ever see ourselves not using it in the future; however, we believe that we should given slightly more coins in any aspect. We feel this would be appealing to players such as us in which would prefer not to spend money on the game and allow for a more diverse blend of individuals of those who do and do not spend money on in game purchases.
Beware of time cheaters in this game.
We can take the lengthy adds but the betting element is horrible. Also why such an using hints. Have a hint less option so people just dont use the engine. We might stay through the next update but losing interest fast.
This chess app game has a hint button! If you are loosing, you can use it and work your way back. Not for actual chess players.
The players are usually robots, although we have met and confirmed through the in game chat some real people. We would like in the future for the players to actually be real as rn most of the games are very boring. We have two other problems with it,whenever Im in a game it will disconnect us and then only reconnect 4 to 8 minute later, and with the clock this is a problem. Our solution was to play the 30 min mode. A last complaint sometimes the game wont open for no reason and it has made been quite annoying on the whole we dont really think its worth downloading.
We dont now what happened but we cant open the app from the new update.

The game is good, but something going on with the programming, the game reset our level 2600 and our coin 100B. The time in the game something fail make you lose the game! No fair.
It gets stuck while loading at 99% of whatever it is loading and never finishes.
Even after the current update that allegedly fixes bug issues and crashing, the app consistently crashes nearly half of the time we're using it. We can't tell you how many times we've been in the middle of a game when all of a sudden poof it's gone. And now it wont even load at all. You're already killing us with how many ads you have in this app, the least you could do is get the game to function properly.
It is by far one of the best chess apps Ive ever played.
This game doesnt reconnect when the data connection switches to Wi-Fi. If this happens we surely know its a game over for us. The recent one we observed is that the opponent complains Im to play and yet over here on our phone its the opponent that is to play. We cant play unless the opponent plays and the opponent cant play unless we play, so the time runs out.
We tried to play against our brother who has a Samsung on two different occasions, we were both linked to fb and it kept timing us out when we tried to play against each other. We have an IPhone 13 mini so its weird that there isnt a crossover option for this game.
Hey if you havent had any experience on the site your going to be very surprised this is the best chess site on the internet number 1 we love this game and Ive experienced their IT department and they are on fire the only game site that they really care about their players.
It's a good game but it makes us laugh because they almost want to force you to buy the membership and coins we say this because it happens often that we're winning and suddenly it freezes or says defeat for unknown reason.
Ive lost more games due to This game inadvertently closing then games Ive played. Figure that out lol.
We watched this minute long ad and didnt even get the 1000 coins we were supposed to get and it tells us to watch it again for 1000 coins foh.
The app got updated and for some reason when your playing the game it freezes up and it crashes, something thats never happened before and its annoying, you should test your updates before launching them next time.
This app is not stable. It freezes and disappears mid game. We like to pay a subscription but hesitant due to this bug that has been consistent for 2 months now.
Ill be in the middle of a game and the app just closes by itself.. Its happened the last 5 times already and Im losing all our coins every single time.
Too many people use cheat codes of some sort to advance our time and add time to theirs – also when they are losing,which is often, they some how cancel the entire game – its not about our points or winning- we simply wanted to play good players; this seems to not be the place for that as there are too many hackers – probably a bunch of kids.
This app crashes more than Crash Bandicoot. We find it suspicious that it only does this when our opponent is losing.
We just want to play with our friend sitting beside us on our phones. Nope cant handle it, tried friend invite but na just play randoms. Can anyone recommend an app we can play a game on with our 2 phones.
This must to be the worst chess app in the Apple Store. We went through the 8 level with the computer, but it happened to us TWICE that we were in a better position, that the app started to work bad, til the moment that the screen get black and the game is gone. All your work, all your effort lost in a second. If you want some good training, keep away from this one.
After the Dec 2021 update its just an advertisement machine. Play one match, ad. Open the app, ad. Collect daily coins, ad. Play the computer, ad. It used to be completely ad-free and it was awesome. Just a lazy moneygrab now.
We love this game! Except too much advertisements.
We unlocked the Deep Sea theme, and it worked at first. Then along came a glitch and now every time we use Deep Sea, it just shows as the default Slate. Thank goodness that we still have Dracula.
New version has at least 5 times more adds. This is not a good app to play chess any more. If you want people use your app, you have to be fair. One game is being interrupted at least 30 times. Guys, avoid this app.
We purchased the app for one time fee with no ads They have added so many ads that it is almost unusable. It disconnects in the middle of a game. It takes points away when it shouldnt. It pairs you with players ranked hundreds of points above you, sometimes with players ranked way under you. But all the new advertisements have ruined it completely.
Game keep reconnecting and disconnecting , If yall can fix that then itll be good 100%.
Ive been playing chess for years this is one of the best chess games Ive played.
Whalen Im playing the app will force close also the players pieces disappear for the board. Our opponent also can undo moves.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD There are a couple real players but most are robots. The game will frequently crash if youre about to win. If you could see some of the screenshots and screen records we have of this game youd be disgusted. Pieces go invisible so you dont know where its safe to move. Opponents will run out the clock to 0 but the game wont end until you quit and take the loss. And your pieces will be stuck and wont move in the direction that theyre supposed to. Absolute disaster. We dont know how they can have anything but 1 star.
Its a good app other then the fact its crashes in the middle of a game and then you lose automatically when you was about to win more then three times already and just downloaded all maybe five days ago.
App crashes mid game from time to time, it just closes when you make a move. Upon relaunching it doesnt reconnect to the game in progress even if its been a couple seconds after the crash. There is no way to see previous games even if you pay for the analysis.

One example is when a beginners luck accompanied in a very first chess game on the internet somehow experts on this world wide social internets app game expert doesnt believe on their opponent, judging they cheat after they just leave a board game knowingly realize out of time and cannot recover his position on a winning status which is on the games rules. The ratings are weird. Players at master level are our own rating appear to be about 5-600 points above their skill level. Ie 2100 is more like 1500 on chess dot com app.

The problem of the appearance of ads appearing when entering the game.
Sometimes the app starts to glitch and not run smoothly. We believe the opponents on this game are real but they have incredibly inflated ratings compared to other apps such as chess.com or lichess. We have beaten 2600 players on this app. That would be the equivalent of a GM or strong IM. We are a decent player, but this app is for non-chess players. Sometimes we run across other stronger players but there is not a good correlation between rating and skill on this app.

Entertaining but has many issues It keeps on saying reconnecting and we will have to turn off the phone and turn it back on just to play the second game after say 10 mins later Its not free.
We play the 5 min version of this game. At the start of the game the timer works fine but after about 2 mins into the game the timer malfunctions or the game freezes. Also, you get inundated with a bunch of ads every time you play. Im switching to a better online chess game.
