Community Insight:
Ive seen reviews that say this game is rigged and we didnt want to believe it. Unfortunately this was confirmed to us recently when (probably because of a glitch) we were told we completed a mission at the beginning of a game before we completed the mission. The game notified us that we received two different Star envelopes before we even played any cards. Sure enough, we received the envelopes during the game. How did the game know we would play the cards that revealed the envelopes? So the glitch revealed that the game was predetermined. This is super disappointing because while there are many great and fun aspects to this game, it makes the game seem pointless.
We cant get enough So glad we found it.
Excellent game with ne'er a dull moment! Keep up the good work.
This game is some much fun! The music is so cool.
Its easy and very fun! Great visual game.
Just started playing tonight so far we really like this game.
This is not a diss on the creators at all but a fair warning to prospective players. If you know the game Gin and opt to compete in doubles online through this app, be prepared to lose by sheer fact that too many do not know the game . Its VERY frustrating and you lose coins forcing you to wait for spin unless you buy. On a positive note , the graphics are fun, and the music is groovy.
Pros: looks lovely, easy to navigate, not a harsh, tacky cartoon vibe that so many other games have. Cons: with the newest update this week (nov 2023), they increased the buy in for games and reduced the payout. This is a huge blow to users considering everyone has commented on the need for more fair pay outs. This was a poor move by developers. In addition, they reduced the free chip amount. Two days ago we got 860 free chips every 4 hours- tonight its 500. Our rank/level has not changed. Developers, do you honestly think we wouldnt notice? Ive never reviewed an app before but this annoyed us enough to pop over hear and call it out. You have the ability to improve this while still making money from paid features and ads, so please do it. Functionality: please update the user dashboard when we are in a game. As we play, we want to be able to view our chips, our xp level, and which game mode and table Im in. Its frustrating to not have easy access to that while playing, and only be able to view that in between sessions. You could add that dashboard to the header of the table while were in game mode. (Similar to the Rummikub game).
This is a great game, however it constantly freezes on you stating you lost connection. This happens more frequently than not. We lost coins, that we purchased, on a game we were winning and it froze. Its so frustrating.
The UI for the game looks fantastic. Unfortunately, they turned an enjoyable card game into a money grabbing concept. We just want to play Gin Rummy and have a nice user experience. However, this game follows the greedy tactics of many modern mobile games and centers everything around purchasing items to facilitate your advancement. They made it extremely difficult to advance without spending real money on chips and gems. Not only that, every time you open the game youre faced with a purchase option, like the Grand Pack, the Expert Pack, and the Master Pack. In addition, the skill is taken out of the game and you will continually lose games to drain your chips, so youll be forced to purchase more chips. You cant play the game without chips and they make it a priority to take chips away, by making you lose. Opponents will gin after two or three draws. Meanwhile, you never get the cards you need. Its a frustrating cycle.
Leaving this game and going to try and find a game that shuffles them randomly. Every hand seems to repeat with cards coming up first with J,Q&K coming together during the draw as well as other numbers. If you pick a 6 of spades you can count on your opponent gettingasting any more of our time. Your Grand Rummthe 5 after. We dont know what you are er than this using to make cardsy original was bett random but its not working. Get your programmer to fix it! Im out of here since its like being at a casino with a fixed deck.
We love Gin Rummy but we had to delete this app. When we first started to play we would win almost every hand and ridiculously quickly. Like if we need 3 cards, the opposing player will discard those 3 cards. However once you build up a lot of chips, you then start to lose in the very same way you were once winning. Your opponent gets gin in like 3 moves. We know the staff keeps saying the cards are dealt randomly but we dont believe it is and Im not going to spend a dime to buy more chips. So deleted it from our phone.
We agree with every bad review. This game is stacked, and we wont spend any of our money buying chips. If you get so many bad reviews, why dont you fix the game? If you think that theres nothing wrong with the game, then you all are a bunch of amateurs with no ambition to turn this into what could be a stellar game.
We like when a plane comes too feather okay.
The amount of free coins given every four hours doesnt cover enough for a single game. If youre on a losing streak and forget to check in one day then you will not be able to play the game without spending money.
Do not believe a word the developers say. This game is sooooooo obviously rigged. We consider ourselves a vey good gin player. In fact we amassed 70k tokens very quickly in this game. However, since hitting that 70k mark we have lost every single game. Also, every opponent is now computer generated. Havent had a real opponent for a long long time. If, as the developers say, all opponents are real, then why won't they incorporate a chat feature? BECAUSE THEY ARE LYING.
The game is not loading on our iPhone. It states we are not on the internet but we are. Other internet games load and open. We just bought more chips and then it stops working. Please fix this.
Just played and discarded a 6 of hearts and opponent picked it up. Immediately thereafter, opponent went down with a big gin (Ie no discard) and yet did not have the 6 of hearts. Explain that.
We have been playing this game often on for a number of years. We agree with so many of the reviews It is impossible for this game to be random. Every card we discard our opponent picks up and uses. Opponents go out after three draws. Doesnt happen to us. We decided to try and discard the cards we needed and obviously our opponent didnt need them. Very strange. We also agree that it is rigged for you to buy chips. You may have a hand or two that keep you playing, but in the end, it is a money pit. A decent gym player in this game is become ridiculous.
Its got to be fixed. We asked a question about a problem that seemed unfair. We bet we havent won 10% of our games since then. We have gotten frustrated and left before, but we always end up coming back. Im gone for good this time. This app is nothing but frustration.
Is not worth the stress of just losing constantly.
The game aesthetics are perfect; but its very disheartening when you have all these lofty goals and cannot even win one game. Very sad that after one draw the opponent gins. This has happened in most of our games at least 3 times now. Too bad the game play cannot be more even w/l ratio.
We spend a lot of money on this game and win 1 out of 8 games. We just dont understand when we spend money we rarely win and when we dont spend money we win. This game has to be rigged. We would like to have a 3rd party investigate this company to prove it's not rigged.
We really, really have enjoyed this game. Ive won quite a bit and we think Im fairly good. But when we spend money and then consistently lose, dont get any envelopesits hard to think its not rigged. When you lose after one or two turns game after game if really ruins the appeal of this game. It really is hard to think this isnt rigged. Ive been playing it for a few months and the more money we spend, the more we lose. So ridiculous.
Played on and off for maybe a year. Just deleted out of total frustration. Lost 6 games in a row. 4 times our opponent got gin within the first 4-5 draws – multiple times within the match. 2 times lost games to 200 where we were shutout and had no possible chance to win any game within the match. Try another game if you enjoy Gin.
We have tried a lot of Gin Rummy games on the App Store and IMHO this one is the best. We like the UI, the vintage look, and the different options for game play. We will say that we agree with some of the comments that suggest it seems rigged, as we have seen many card draws and many knocks/gins that would be almost statistically impossible with a normal, randomly drawn 52 card deck. For that, we suggest playing the Oklahoma option as it makes it harder for those things to occur. Otherwise, this is a very good game.
Ive been playing this off and on for a few years. Its one of the best games out there to play against real people. Theres no game player comments that are rude. Also theres no actual money involved, so when you lose its only your ego that gets bumped a bit. Some people are just really good. They seem to play a lot. We try and learn from them. Change up your strategy depending on their game style, if you can. Good luck and just have fun. Easy to learn and yet its challenging. Id suggest playing the Oklahoma style. It gives you more time to figure out their style and beat them.
Im hooked. Played gin growing up. Now we have our family playing online with us.
We love the layout! Feels like Im at a luxurious casino.
This game is so much fun and it works perfectly.
Plays the same hands over and over.
We love this game but now it wont go past 80 % deleted and reinstalled same thing.
We play this game among family members. None of us get pop up ads except for our husband. Its annoying and frustrating to him. Can someone explain why he is targeted by ads.
Fun game good for older people.
Great game, too many steps to collect rewards. Click this, click that, now go back, click again.
At least it seems real people are playing, though winning is so unfairly hard, but we enjoy playing with our own online friends.
Ive been playing this app for years as well as physical gin rummy. Even though this game does have an element of chance, there is a fair amount of skill involved. In person, Im almost defeated. Here? Its rigged for you to lose against bots and its incredibly obvious. Especially in leagues. They want you to drain your chips. Even if/when you spend money though- you will still lose far more than you win. That said- the layout and ease of play is favorable next to other apps. The frustration of the play not being fair- is frustrating.
Pretty cool UI, a little too much going on. As others have said, they have it set so you automatically win at first, next thing you know youll lose 15-20 games in a row. Your opponent will get gin in 2 cards, and then you need to buy chips. Yeah, no.
We wish we had $1 for every time that we passed on taking a card, only to draw the same exact number!!! And if that isnt bad enough, we couldnt even begin to tell you how many times we have been dealt two of the same numbers, only to have the other two matching number cards be in the last 4 cards of the deck! Its absurd how many times that happens. Vegas has better odds than this games dealing of actual shuffled cards.
We played quite a few of these rummy games and this is the only one we cant win. We find ourselves sitting with less than 1000 points on a regular basis. If your points get too low, you cant play unless you sit there and watch all this advertising until you can get enough points to play a game. Thats not what we want in the general game beautiful app but the set up doesnt make any sense Good luck with it gotta go find us a gin rummy we can play on a regular for relaxation.
We love and we hate this game. It just gets so expensive. You dont realize how much money you spent. And unfortunately it freezes a lot and you lose your game and your coins.
Ive enjoyed this game for awhile. We would love it if the developers either removed the ability to send emojis and messages or suppress receiving them from your opponent. Its either too much (we dont need a great game or smiley emoji after every turn) or too harrassing ( getting a mad emoji repeatedly if you win a game).
Unless you give them some cash. Otherwise very stable, easy to navigate.
We love this app and hate it at the same time. Its truly Las Vegas. First they reduced payouts and reduced free chips. Second, the app purposely makes you lose. We recently tracked our gaming after buying $40 worth of gems/chips. We are a good gin player and in real life, we usually win. On this app, the house stacks it against you, especially if you buy chips. They want you to lose to buy more. In 20 consecutive rounds, we wasnt given one single meld. Meanwhile, our opponents went down with gin after one or two cards selected. This is intentional to make us lose. If we dont play for a few days, the game gives us a win, followed by 3-4 losses. Our winning percentage says 51%, but that is inaccurate. They set you up to win one, lose 4 or more. If you bet a lot of chips, youre doomed to lose them. If this app doesnt improve soon, Im deleting it for good and looking for another. Make it fair please! We have sat next to our son playing with him and seeing his hands and its laughable. He never plays and isnt a good gin player and his hands are guaranteed to give him a big gin or wipe us out immediately. We mean every single card he draws does into his hand. This isnt luck. Its computer generated intentional winning to make a loyal player lose.
Clearly we're not playing with real people sometimes. No one can get that lucky.
We played years ago, took time off for no reason really but redownloaded the app and its just way too crazy how coincidental cards you throw or need that the next one would pop up on deck. Ive read other reviews and you say you dont use bots or AI which we do not believe at all. If you sit back and really watch the cards thrown or picked up from the stack its completely rigged. The payouts are extremely bad as well, we get you need to make some money to keep an app running but taking 50% of a win is absolutely crazy.
Doesnt make sense. We have cards highlighted try tapping the bar, swiping the meld. Couldnt easily arrange our cards, some stupid lock system Idk kinda lame UI. Not the best for beginners. Other game was more fun, but there was so many ads it wasnt worth the it. Kept timing out so didnt finish a round.
They say no bots but they dont deny their employees play. They force you in the same league of people each week and some of them seem to have no limit to how much they can play making them number 1 in the league each week making it pointless to try. When you bring this up they basically tell you they dont care. We will spend $500/month somewhere else.
5 hands in a row the opponent knocked on the first round. Five hands in a row! Pretty much impossible.
