Community Insight:
Good graphics we like the trial but we have no money to buy the game.we recommend to do the game free.
We absolutely love books and cozy games. This is a really cool game.
Is this just a demo, not a full-version game? We played until we could open a bookstore, and then the screen cut into the air and crossed the meteor and there was no follow-up.
Let us start this by saying we almost never write reviews. But we have to review this game! Its AMAZING! Super cute and cozy, with fun characters, a cute town, and sweet little plot points. As a book lover, we cannot recommend this game enough. Buy the full version – its so worth it! This game makes our heart happy, and is our favorite way to relax after work.
We LOVE tiny bookshop. Im proud to announce Ive inherited Tildes shop. And played a year of the game . Im addicted. We love the challenges taking us through a story, getting to decorate our shop, and attempt to successfully pair someone with a new book. It does feel good when they love it. Thank you for making this game, Im hooked.
This is a very stimulating game. If you are interested in literature, look no further. The price is well worth the excitement of the game and the privacy of the consumers, as the developers do not collect any data from the app(which is rare). Ive added many book titles to our to-read-list because of this game. Definitely our favorite guilty(not so guilty) pleasure in a long time. As long as there are continuous updates, Im very happy to keep playing.
We really do like the game. We dont know why people are hating on having to pay seven dollars. Its seven bucks at the end of the day you help the developer and the game is really fun and really cozy.
We never go out of our way to write a review good or bad, but we stumbled upon this game and we honestly love it so much. We started it free and immediately purchased it because we were hooked. If writing a review will help them make another game this awesome Id write a million more.
We tore ourselves away from the game to write a review for it Ive been playing it for over six hours straight. We love that the books are real, and that you unlock new locations as you go.
The description clearly says this functions more like a demo and then you can pay full price for the game. Its a very cute, relaxing game and is 100% worth getting. Dont listen to the negative reviews calling it a scam, they just dont know how to read.
As someone who loves spending time at book fairs and collecting beautiful hardcover books, we absolutely fell in love with Tiny Bookshop! It is a truly successful game that perfectly captures the simulation and story genres. The attention to fine detail is amazing, and the developers have successfully delivered everything a game like this needs. We've only played up to Day 3 so far, but we loved it so much that we're definitely buying the full version to keep playing. We know it's a new release, but we're certain it will become a huge hit and gain the value it deserves. You have our full, heartfelt support.
We see it on steam before, but on it available at IOS Im so happy with it. Its free 3 days trailer after that its pop up to buy full game, actually we dont have problem to pay 7.99 $ here overall the gameplay, music, reading and recommending books to customers was fun.
We got so addicted. We ended up playing it in two days. Its so cute and fun and interesting to meet all the characters around town. We wish we didnt end. It had more people to talk to or different tasks to do because that was the best part. We still play it. We still have some tasks to do even though Talia gave us her bookshop. This is a great game. We hope people will make more games like this.
Just from seeing the ratings on the app store, we thought this game wouldnt be very fun, but after playing we really enjoyed it and we think its a unique idea for a game! After reading a lot of the reviews, it looks like most of the bad ones are complaining about thePlay before you pay aspect. Ive downloaded so many games like this for years, so we were shocked to see everyone apparently ganging up on this game for it. Personally, we enjoy being able to play a trial of a paid game, so we can decide if we want to purchase it or not and $7.99 doesnt feel like a bad price.
This is basically us living out our fantasy of having a bookstore in this very cozy and wholesome game! Id compare it to animal crossing or pokemon pokopia so its well worth the $8, and we can play it offline so we can play during our daily commute! The story is really cute, the characters are wholesome, the graphics are fun and cozy, and we love the fact that it has real books and their summaries and we can recommend books to customers that Ive actually read in real life! Love it.
This is one of the few gems that prove paying for a game is worth every cent versus watching an ad every minute for a free game that someone slapped together in a day with a pay to win mindset. This is one of our favorite games that Ive found in a long time and Im mostly a PC/Console player, not mobile. But this? This is absolutely adorable and just a wonderful way to relax and chill out. Theres so much more we could say but this is just an absolutely incredible game.
This game popped up on the feature page and we thought it looked so cute. So we downloaded it bc it was free. However you have to pay $7.99 which we didnt think was horrible so we paid for it. This game is sooo fun if you love books and are looking for a relaxing but stimulating game. You can customize your shop and there are different goals you can achieve. Its honestly worth it and probably one of the most recent apps thats worth playing.
This a very clearly marked as a paid app and the free trial is ample enough to decide to purchase or not. The repeated complaints about this are unfair to the developers. Only thing we can agree with is phone gets very hot when playing and the frame rate is only at 30. Hope the update they just pushed addresses this.
Wonderful game, we own it on steam already but wanted to be able to play on the go. That said…. Two main notes for this version: 1. Y'all are hurting your own game sales by making it "free" with an in-app purchase for the full game. No matter how much you clarify it, it's going to be misleading – you'd be better off making it full price to begin with. You should also synchronize the prices, considering it's the full game on every platform. 2. Events aren't showing up in the paper after the first incidence. We've played on PC and know the schedule, but for newcomers, that's going to be an immediate turnoff to getting deeper into the game.
We wanted to buy the full version, and we have the required amount in our account. But the game can only be purchased with a card, which is unavailable to us. It's such a shame.
We love this game! Its so cute and its a great game although Ive had some problems after buying the full game. Our main issue is we cant hear anything from this game, it has no sound and we have everything turned up. Our next issue is its a little laggy although that could just be us. Again we love the game we just wish we could get the full experience other than that its beautiful and very calm and fun to play.
We got this game for free back when it just came out and we loved it played it for hours. No where did it say we had to pay to keep playing. A few days later we log back in to keep playing and it wont let us as we had to apparently now pay to keep playing. We were truly devastated as we spent hours on this and found it a bit odd that no where when we got the game did it say we had to pay to keep playing.
We preordered this game for free on the app store and got it for free, we were having a lot of fun playing until one day it says we can't play anymore. We have been playing since before you had to pay and now we cant continue. Spent hours for nothing.
Not even a minute in, and theres already a grammatical mistake: us Bookstonians? Ouch. Given the laundry list of credits, presumably many with a love of reading, we would have expected better. That said, how sad that so many entitled reviewers feel that this game should be free. We love having a trial period in which to decide if a particular app is right for us. If it is, we absolutely want to support its development, and if not, we appreciate having been given a free peek.
Reach reached out to Debs probably a week or so ago to ask if theres any way to link an account that we already have on Steam with this so that we dont have to pay twice and can keep our progress. No response responses. Im not paying for this game twice, especially for what it is. Its nice to pass time with the slow pace game when youre bored, but theres nothing really to this besides helping the same customers find the same books in different locations and being able to decorate your shop a little bit.
We got this game because the trial was really good and relaxing. Ive only been playing it for less than a day and its no lie made us feel so bad about ourselves. One of the responses was literally are you sure you should be a bookseller? Because youre kind of bad at it. Mind you we have no control over what books are on the shelf because we can only see them once someone wants a recommendation after we had to blindly put the books on the shelf with only the genre in mind.
No, the full game is not free, but Tiny Bookshop gives the best cozy vibes for us. Personally, its well worth it to us to pay for a game once versus having to spend money on a game thru micro transactions every few days/weeks or so.
Surprising how many people dont have reading comprehension anymore. Very clearly says its a trial before a 1-time purchase.
Edit: Sheesh these reviews about the demo. Its because this game showed up as a game that was coming out and people pre ordered. At that point it wasnt obvious it had a demo we guess. But theres nothing wrong with a demo game. Please do more demos instead of tons of inapps! Im not keeping the game because we want less story and more gameplay. But for those that like a cozy good story its perfect for you. Here was our original review: Unskippable tutorial that doesnt let you play the game. Even if you put skip tutorial youll still get popups that block everything for you to talk to people and do stuff for them. Random old lady will stop you every other moment. We dont care if you used to own a bookstore, if youre gonna keep bothering us Ill ban you from our store. Let us play the game and RUN THE STORE. We dont care about any of their stories or their lives. We want to run the business.
There are a few reviews pointing out that the game isnt free. On the title screen it shows a free trial and an option to buy the game. We have this game on Switch 2 and can tell you that it is absolutely worth 7.99. Its a great game to wind down with. Please consider getting the full version, theres no other bookstore game like it.
People saying they feel scammed because they downloaded a FREE game is insane. Yall. Please. Great game for the price.
Ive been eyeing this game for months. It wasnt available on iPad yet we were going to purchase for the switch. Just found out yesterday it was available in the App Store and we were super ecstatic! We absolutely adore the game its so cute and a true cozy game. Very low effort chill game. Havent been able to put it down.
We played on PC was and was so excited to see it on mobile. Relaxing cozy game where you travel around a town and stock and recommend books to the visitors. Learning about the townsfolk was fun and quests move the story along. Worth paying for if you like cozy games and if you love reading you will love this game.
The gameplay is fun, cozy, and cute. We love the characters and dialogue. The decorating part is also cool. We do want to add that we think romance options would be cool.
Great indie game-lovely time. We even joined the official discord because we liked the game so much. But then it hit us with the play 7.99 to continue playing. And honestly, we have no problem with that but the devs shouldve been upfront about the payment thing from jump and its a little crazy to ask for that much when after a few hours of playing theres not much else in the game thats new or exciting. Maybe Im being too much but we dont think its fair to 1. Not be completely transparent that when you download its just a demo and 2. Youre paying for nothing new you havent experienced already from the previewjust the rest of the content which isnt really a lot. If they had more updates like MMO, more books, more locations, more NPCS, etc we would pay (for potential) but now Im conflicted. Maybe Ive just been living under a rock and shouldve known better but it just seems slimy to move like that. 10/10 in the beginningcurrently 4/10 now. Not really cool move.
We didnt expect much from the trial but it did seem like something very cozy. The more we played it the more we wanted to keep playing. All of these books are real as well & we think its totally worth the money. You can customize SO much with the store, learn about characters, buy trinkets to decorate & even have weekly events. This game deserves so much more hype & players.
We pre installed this game and over the past couple of days, we have played it very often! We love how we see books that we actually know and read, the game that is completely free of pushy purchases and ads. The game is grounded and quaint. Tiny bookshop dreams of the life we wish we could live right now, a town that is inclusive, self-sufficient and takes cares of its own. We recommend playing this game, as it can be played in short bursts and long sessions. Thank you so much to the developers! UPDATE: $8 for a game is really high! You can repay the trial version, but, it is the only in-app purchase. UPDATE: we loved the trial so much we purchased the full game. We love everything about this game and the quality of the animations. You can tell the developers and everybody on this team put their whole heart into this project.
LOOOOOVE the vibe of this game, getting to decorate our shop, the map of different places to take our trailer store, and picking out books for customers. Love the inclusion in customer base AND books, anyone who is complaining about books with queer, Black, or women lead characters is bigoted and weird. Didnt love that the game is a hidden trial and then $8 suddenly, but we like it enough that Ill probably buy it.
This is exactly what we wanted. Chill, lots of fun details, but not too involved. Yes it costs $8 to actually play, but we prefer that to games that try to get us to spend money here and there throughout the whole game.
But guys, 8 dollars for a game on the phone is a lot, nevertheless, of course, we will buy it to support the developers.
Fun game, cute and cozy. And therefore definitely not like running a bookstore! Do some research if you're getting any ideas.
We pre-installed this game bc we have been playing since the demo days on steam. We love having this game on our ipad. Thx for letting us skip the tutorial. We love the mobile layout the only thing we have trouble with is using our apple pencil to select the bubbles to do book recs. Super fun cozy game we enjoy the book selection as well. If youre a reader sometimes you might also find a book you want to read.
This is one of our favorite games because its so peaceful and fun! We love how as you progress you can interact with so many different characters and learn about them. We especially appreciate the three-day trial as it let us experience some of the game while deciding whether we wanted to purchase. We dont usually write reviews but we think this game deserves a 5-star rating for everything! Only downside is the game heats up your device a lot throughout the game so be careful.
We love this game so much! It is so peaceful and fun. There are no ads either. We highly recommend. :).
Enjoying this so far! Basically a cozy management sim in a New England-esque town by the sea. All the books in the game are real too, which is a nice detail.
We were obsessed with this game the moment it came out! If you remotely like anything about literature, you will love this game too. We have played this game nonstop since it came out and we cant wait to see how it develops.
Just downloaded today but so far so good Im really enjoying it. Playing it in our iPad.
Love this quaint little game! Art style is beautiful and characters are fun to learn about! The best part is, we may have found a few good reads while on the way! Keep up the good work.
