Dive into Advanced Space Flight

Advanced Space Flight is a realistic space simulator for interplanetary and interstellar travel. It is the only space simulator available that takes into account relativistic effects during interstellar flight.
Besides simulating space flight this app can also be used as a planetarium, with all known planets shown in real scale with their accurate keplerian orbits. It can also be used as a star chart and exoplanet explorer, showing all solar systems with confirmed exoplanets within 50 light years from the Sun.
This is the only app where you can get a sense of the true scale of the Universe, zooming out throught thousands of galaxies and galaxy clusters until you see the entire observable universe in your screen.

Locations:

  • All Solar System planets plus 5 dwarf planets and 27 moons
  • All confirmed exoplanetary solar systems within 50 light years from the Sun, making a total of over 100+ exoplanets.
  • Over 50+ stars, including main sequence stars like the Sun, red dwarfs like TRAPPIST-1, white dwarfs like Sirius B, brown dwarfs like 54 Piscium B, etc.
  • Experience the full scale of the Universe: you can zoom out from a few meters to billions of light years, until you see the entire observable universe in your screen.

Flight Modes:

  • Realistic Flight: Travel using optimized trajectories, calculated based on the orbital parameters of the origin and destination planets to minimize fuel usage. These are the kind of trajectories that would be used in a real space mission.
  • Free Flight: Take manual control of a spaceship in space, activating the engines as you see fit to achieve your goals.

Spaceships:
Advanced Space Flight features several spacecraft, based on present and future technology:

  • Space Shuttle (Chemical Rocket): Designed in 1968-1972 by NASA and North American Rockwell. It has been in service from 1981 to 2011, making it the most successful reusable spacecraft ever built.
  • Falcon Heavy (Chemical Rocket): Designed and manufactured by SpaceX, made its first flight in 2018.
  • Nuclear Ferry (Nuclear Thermal Rocket): Designed in 1964 by Ling-Temco-Vought Inc.
  • Lewis Ion Rocket (Ion Drive): Designed in a 1965 study by the Lewis Research Center.
  • Project Orion (Nuclear Pulse Propulsion): Designed in 1957-1961 by General Atomics. Some early prototypes were built before the project was abandoned after 1963.
  • Project Daedalus (Fusion Rocket): Designed in 1973-1978 by the British Interplanetary Society.
  • Antimatter Startship (Antimatter Rocket): First proposed in the early 1950s, the concept was further studied after advances in antimatter physics in the 80s and 90s.
  • Bussard Ramjet (Fusion Ramjet): First proposed in 1960 by Robert W. Bussard, design was improved in 1989 by Robert Zubrin and Dana Andrews.
  • IXS Enterprise (Alcubierre Warp Drive): Based on a concept design fom NASA designed in 2008 and popularized in 2015, it was the first serious attempt to design a superluminal spacecraft.

Artificial Satellites:
Several human-made satellites are present in the app:

  • Sputnik 1
  • Hubble Space Telecope
  • Internation Space Station
  • Kepler Space Observatory
  • Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS)
  • James Webb Space Telescope

Effects:

  • Atmospheric light scattering effects, making atmospheres look realistic both from space and from the surface of planets.
  • Planetary clouds that move at different speed than the surface.
  • Clouds in tidal-locked planets form giant hurricanes, caused by the Coriolis force.
  • Stars with volumetric corona and lens flares. Star color determined by surface temperature.
  • Planetary rings with realistic light scattering and real-time shadows from the planet.
  • Realtivistic effects when travelling close to the speed of light: time dilation, length contraction and relativistic doppler effect.

Find out what gamers are saying about Advanced Space Flight:

We love it so much you can explore so many different planets such as gas planets a rocky planet a earth like planet a cold planet and the most important part you can see the information about the planets rocky planets stars gas planes and earth like planets theres so much details of the planets they look so real thank you who ever made this game this game is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo amazing this is the best space game we have ever seen in our life.

At first, we became very frustrated with trying to get from Earth to any other planet in our Solar System. The method used for one Planet did not work for any other planet. We are very confident in saying that the Space Shuttle can not carry enough fuel to take it beyond the Earths Moon, let alone to Pluto or Mercury. As we looked into the physics needed to travel beyond our Moon, this App seems to have left out a great deal of detailed information and calculations needed for such a journey. We also noted that the Planets in our Solar System are not in their correct positions. The correct planetary positions would be the easiest to program in an App. We are led to believe the Developer of this App has taken a great deal of liberties with facts and figures when making this App. We regret purchasing this App.

Only reason why we decided to buy this was because it still gets updates. Though its not really a play kind of game its still entertaining watching the rockets fly around (please add the Saturn V Rocket). Anyways this simulator is pretty cool and teaches you a lot about the different planets in the galaxy, the dev even links web pages so you can learn more about the planets! Cant wait for future update, maybe multiplayer exploration? Idk, just the thought of multiple rockets in space would be dope.

This simulator is very challenging to master. Its been a learning process for us. One thing we would really like to see is a method to track which objectives have been met in Campaign Mode. Along with this, a way to find launch windows to the objectives that still need to be met.

This game isnt really a game. Its a sort of simulation that you can set up and watch. You dont exactly fly the rockets and spaceships.. You sort of just watch them do everything complicated for you. Its very entertaining to watch time dialation and effects of traveling at high speeds, while seeing the difference in time compared to Earth and your spacecraft traveling at maybe 4% the speed of light. Recommended for space geeks and nerds like us!

Graphics are pixelated on latest IPad. Disappointed in that issue and lack of ability to control the spacecraft. Did feel like a rip off. The graphics that work without pixilation are sub par at best for the latest ipads.. Would like a refund.

We just purchased this game today and the game playing screen does NOT fit on an iPhone XS Max. Its too oversized so that you cant read some of the buttons or words in the corners of the screen. Its also very buggy. Weird pixelations/glitches are showing up on the space craft/rockets and the planets when playing. PLEASE fix this! Otherwise the app has very good detail but we just paid for something we cant really use…. Im soooo bummed!! :(

We love this game, its so peaceful to launch a ship from a planet in to orbit or to another planet, and to just lay in bed at the end of the night and watch it until you fall asleep, and then to see the progress when you wake up in the morning. Only one thing Id love to add. More galaxies to Go to and more planets to explore, we dont care if you have to go through a loading screen to access it if you click on it. But if not then its fine, its a great game anyways!

We Was Able To Recreate Cassinis Ending (Oh Poor Cassini) But You Can Add Some More Spaceships. This Game Is So Freaking Beautiful. Thx Guillermo, Ur The Best Game Creator On The Planet.

This is the 5 star space sim but we noticed a couple of things are missing: is the sound and the ability to keep the engine running without keeping the finger on the engine icon on the right side of the iPad screen! Please look into those 2 things! Thanks! Cheers, Vincent.

This is what iOS apps should be like. Very cool space sim. Thank you for writing this!

Can you add infinity fuel and faster space craft and can you put it where we can travel to different galaxies plz.

We love interstellar and interplanetary travel but intergalactic travel is whats missing. We wish u could travel to other galaxies with more systems can u please add this.

Its very good and all but maybe you could read some thing where you can actually land a rocket onto earth and you could probably add the star uy scuti and the black hole ton 618.

Can you add the minor moons of jupiter Saturn uranus and neptune please and please add the zoom thing like in space engine and can you make it so you can like fly to the planets surface like space engine and we like the planets surface detailed and like the volcanoes and mountains and craters and thats all we want you to add to the game.

We like it a little bit but not like full on five star related can you make the full version have infinite fuel and also when you hit a planet you dont explode or crash and you can use landing gear we really want that type of game but we will only give you a four-star when you update it and have those things we will give it a five star.

We wish you can see and control the spacecrafts you land on planets and get the screenshots to work. Otherwise, really great game!

This spaceflight game is the best one yet to us! It feels wonderfully realistic to the real universe. We do have a suggestion for you though. It would be cool if you added the ability to set a rover on a planet. But anyways there is why we like the game!
