Hear from the Players – Adventure Pinball Reviews

Find out what gamers are saying about Adventure Pinball:

Game stew, we’ve been playing your games since day 1 and not a single game has disappointed. We dont write reviews but we will for Game Stew. Every game has a great surface, its appealing to the retro gamers and Its super time consuming. We are more than okay with paying for your works of art. Please keep up the good work, keep pushing, keep making games! We dont want to miss any content.

We have several other Game Stew games and love them. This one, however, is horrible. The flippers are not responsive half of the time. You have to press in the exact awkward spot, but even then, especially the right flipper doesnt do anything. There is no way to contact the developer that we can find. We will be asking for a refund from Apple. The developers other games are fine, but we should have read the reviews of this one. Its one of the worst games we’ve ever played. The concept is cool. But the UI is terrible. Avoid it. We regret buying it.

This game is a lot of fun and the art style is really cool; but the ball drops waaayyyy too fast. The speed of it is kinda unforgiving and takes some of the fun out of the experience.

Please add a casual mode with 50-70% ball speed. We love the idea, we love pinball but its barely playable. :(

Great concept, love the Game Boy Pocket grayscale art style, and there are plenty of different screens/tables to keep us entertained. However, this game is almost impossible to play because the left flipper only works about half the time, and its nothing but infuriating. Also, the pause button and magnifying glass button are in a terrible location on the screen; theyre right where we want to have our thumbs to use the flippers. And the fact that the magnifying glass icon starts highlighting itself every time you enter a new screen because it wants you to press it and read about the goals in the room is super annoying. Why would we want to stop the action to read the goals? Either make the goals more apparent without instruction (which we actually think they are, so its redundant) or have the goals flash on screen like every other video pinball game on the market. This has the potential to be a really fun game, but between the ONLY action input not working properly, and some questionable design and UI choices, Ill probably never be able to actually enjoy it. Definitely do not recommend this game in its current state.

Playing on iPhone 11 – all other apps are closed and there is lag. Not good! Also, there is blank/empty space at the bottom of the screen where we could (and should) be touching to activate the flippers, but apparently that area does not register as active and we are forced to touch the screen on the actual board/playfield and obstruct our view of the game any time we want to try to hit the ball. Also not good. Very disappointed.

Rare is the game with genuine personality, where blocky graphics belie the care put into its design, such that it delights with every strange new twist. But this is one of them.

Please fix the flipper lag problem ok?

Love it. Lots of stages and stuff to hit.

We enjoy the game but the unresponsive black borders on our iPad caused a lot of missed flipper presses. We’re not even saying we have issues with the black border aesthetically, but would really appreciate it if somehow even the black border in the lower part of the screen can still register as flipper hits.

Interesting graphics and challenging gameplay. Doesnt fill up entire width of iPad screen which makes use of flippers more difficult.

On iPad, because the flippers dont hit if you hit the black bars. On iPhone XS, flippers wont work on bottom and top borders. Please fix.

We’ve beaten it. Overall, we enjoyed our short time with this game. Sometimes a loss felt out of our control, but at least the Continue system is generous. Some interesting twists in combining combat with pinball, but theres a limited amount of content and depth here. Would enjoy new content in the future. As is, a fun way to kill a few hours.

The game play is pretty good with minor delay. The music though as a lot of their games are FIRE god dang the music is good and it also has good sprites over all a good pinball game.

Like others have said, flippers just dont feel right. Please update, check out other pinball games. Thanks.

A fun game… When it works. As other reviewers have said, there is an issue with the flippers not registering being tapped which is really frustrating. Also, there is a magnifying glass that appears in the lower left corner that you can tap on to tell you what tasks you need to perform, but the game doesnt pause when you do so youll most likely lose your ball. Also frustrating. Its a shame cause its a fun concept but until these bugs and issues are fixed, Id stay away.
