Community Insight:
We absolutely loved this game. We love the little gray cells and how the powerful mind of the great Hercule Poirot works. We really enjoyed everything about it and the play time was pretty long. We were actually sad when it had ended. Im definitely going to replay this game in the future. We recommend it to anyone who enjoys Agatha Christie and H. Poirot. Its a fun mystery game and you never know which way things are going to go. Just when you think you may know who the culprit is, the story changes and youre oh so wrong. Its fun. Hope everyone who tries this little gem enjoys it as much as we did. Give it a shot. Im hoping the newest pitot game makes it to IOS and Android.
We loved this game! You should make another Agatha Christie novel one like this like you did with this one. It was really fun.
Can we get more games like this one.
It feels very close to the Poirot series on TV. True to the characters, good accents! Fun game.
So much fun! Many real detective elements. Great puzzles. Beautiful movement graphics. We played through this game fast bc we LOVED IT. More please.
Update! Make sure you exit the program and then restart. Once the sync of your profile is there from the web, our character says inf for clues. Like others. Purchased unlimited clues. App says purchased. Never advanced from the initial 10 and keeps wanting to recharge us. Theft.
When we crawl through the AppStore searching for a point and click detective adventure game, ABC Murders is exactly what we're looking for. You interview witnesses, visit crime scenes, perform forensics testing, and analyze clues, all with the help of your good friend Watson. Gameplay is logical and lengthy, without glitches of any kind. We have played this twice already, and given the lack of other games in this niche, we'll undoubtedly play it again. Microids, please publish other Agatha Christie games like this one.
If they made one of these for each of her books we would buy every single one! Please please make more.
Such a great game. We want more.
Overall very good and worth the money.
Really enjoyed this game and hope for more like it. No hidden objects, just adventure, yay! Ran very smoothly on our iPad. Good puzzles. Use a walkthrough if you need it instead of buying clues.
Just finished the book and decided to try the game. It was great! No complaints. Hope they make more based off of other Agatha Christie books.
We love Poirot, we've read the books and seen the movies so when we say there was an app we downloaded it so fast. It was a very fun game. We like the challenges and the recreations of the crimes were cool. We thought the puzzles were pretty tricky but once we got to the second murder we had the hang of the puzzles. Please make the other books into games.
Really enjoyable game! Tricky puzzles and intriguing story! Go get it.
We really enjoyed the game. It was not difficult at all, but rather relaxing and still challenging. There were absolutely no bugs on our IPad Mini 2. We're an Agatha Christie lover as well as a Duchet fan. We enjoyed the music, atmosphere, and graphics in this game.
As a devout Agatha Christie fan the sheer existence of this game is delightful. What makes it incredible is the deceptively intricate and charming art. The detail while not terribly realistic is simply lovely. We beg thee make more, many more! Marple too.
We're a huge Hercule Poirot fan and really loved this game!! Even if we wasn't a fan, the game has a great story line and great characters. We didn't encounter any problems or bugs in the gameplay.
It's really a perfect game, except that we wish it was slightly more difficult. Maybe letting us decide when we think we are ready to "get our brain cells to work" … So there is more engagement with the clues we are gathering. Really fun, and we'll probably re download it again to get a better score! We gotta harness our inner Poirot.
We wanted to play this when it came out for the pc, but our laptop is crap, so we were excited to see it on iOS! Then we saw all the reviews mentioning glitches, so begrudgingly, we put it off. However, we finally caved, and we're writing this review to say we've completed the entire game glitch free on our iPhone 5s. So yeah. Good fun, and we didn't have to use (pay for?)any hints. Our only complaint is that we found only a bit short. But overall we enjoyed the experience and we're glad we made the purchase.
We just download the game and played for a while. Our opinion – very good story – a little buggy control system – cartoon graphics but it could be more realistic at least more similarly to david suchet —————– UPDATED we just finished the game and we want to give 5 stars instead of 4. The game story was great and loved it. We ask the developers to make more poirot games like this. But some of puzzles were so ridiculous and we think developers put them just because of making players buy in app purchases.
The only time there is any problem is when your phone times out and locks or you leave the app for for than a minute if you go back to the game the screen is frozen. It's worth it! If this happens just force close and resume it saves most of the progress maybe a minute tops of work to make up. The story and characters are great. The scenes have lots to discover that adds to a rich story. Truly enjoyed ourselves.
We have had no problems with the game. It runs smoothly on our iPad Pro. It's not too difficult to figure out what to do, if you get stuck they give you, we believe, 10 free clues which, when used, tell you exactly what to do next. You can buy more clues through in-app purchases. We think the price is fair and we don't mind paying for more hints if needed but there's always the free option, looking up a walkthrough if you're stuck. We love this game and we really wish there were more games like this available on the AppStore.
This game was amazing. Good UI, loved the voices and art. A great game for adventure/mystery lovers.
Love this game and a wonderful port to iOS! We think it's fair priced considering it's the full game however seeing "in-app purchases" under 6.99 isn't perhaps very palatable… We would later learn it's optional clues but just a friendly heads up it could be turning people away. Anyway great job and thank you Devs.
We hope they make more of these. We know theres plenty of people that enjoy this genre as much as we do and in our opinion there should be nothing stopping them from either adding on to the Agatha Christie cases and detectives, or use the characters/or new characters to create spinoff cases you can buy or put in bonuses.
Good game. Amazing graphics. Attention to details. Very interesting story. Reconstruction part is fantastic. The voice over is amazing. Things we found annoying: You cant save the game and when the app goes to the background in some sequence it brings you back to the beginning of this sequence. The achievements and trophies are nice for young ages but older find it childish. You should give it as an option. It damage the serious aspect of the game. The ego points are also useless. When reviewing people the third thing disappears too quick and you cant read what it was. When deducing based on clues the conclusion disappears to fast and cant be read. In deduction screens sometime he questions but are vague like what do we know if A where almost all answers can be true but the game is looking for one of two out of 8. Things to improve: the game is too much pushing the player into the right direction and doesnt give option to be totally mistaken in the investigation. Just like the graphical reconstruction it would have been nice to have a text broader reconstruction of the serious of events. Its hard to follow especially if you dont play the game same day and if there are many names.
We wish it had more of a narrative flow like the novel, but we like the characterization and the game play.
Only 2% into it and we are frozen! Ugh great idea just need the bugs worked out.
Had some problems trying to manipulate items and wound up buying clues. Despite that we would highly recommend.
Proceed with caution before buying this game. As background, we really really really love Poirot and have read all of the novels Dame Christie wrote with our favorite Belgian detective. Was so stoked to play this game we jut bought it straight away. The game has its merits: challenging puzzles, glamorous English pre WWII scenery, costumes and architecture, twist ending for those that aren't familiar with the story. Hell, we guess the price was worth it just to explore Poirot's fabulous Whitehaven apartment mansion in post WWI London! The cons: often times the puzzles are challenging Because the programming of touchscreen "hotspots" are poorly done, and often not responsive on an iPhone 6 screen, perhaps it works better on a laptop or iPad. Slow load times of the game, new scenes and frequent crashing starting in the third murder scene's mansion were highly disappointing and really detracted from our enjoyment of this game. Plus, when you move to another active app for an indeterminate amount of time (as everyone does when playing games on a mobile phone), the game has to restart and you often lose your progress. We give it 4stars only out of our love for all things Agatha Christie, frankly the game gets a C minus. That being said, if they fix the bugs and make more Poirot or even Miss Marple or Tommy & Tuppence games we would be all over it…but only if they functioned better.
We love any and everything involving Agatha Christie. Can we get one for Murder on the Orient Express?? Good game.
29% done no glitches or bugs yet. Some of the game isn't as intuitive as we would hope but once you get the hang of it. Solid game fun and have to pay attention to details. Worth the price.
The game is good and all, but after we exited out of the app the voice didn't work even though we had it up all the way. The music and sound still played though. The footstep sound also went out. Other than that it is a great game. Please fix.
We purchased clues but never received them The game lags and is buggy.
Great narrative and interesting puzzles. The mechanics are so poor though gets irritating.
Our help button doesnt work. Some of the buttons for moving characters are difficult to activate. Game itself is reasonably fun albeit a little too easy.
We bought a few clues and they never loaded in the game. We'd like our money back or the clues loaded please. Otherwise it's a nice game.
In-app purchases do NOT work. VERY frustrating.
The game only goes as far as Bexhill. We went online and found there was another version that had police in the Bexhill area that aren't there in this version. We'd love some help.
This game's concept is awesome, and we love it. But, holy crap, there are so many glitches. It has restarted on us dozens of times and the save points don't allow you to go to the exact point where you left off, which is frustrating when you have have to redo a puzzle a million times.
The observation mode, which is important part of the game may have a bug. The circle you move only moves left and right, not up and down. So it's not obvious what to do. When you do randomly tap and find things, the words overlap each other and are not readable. It doesn't block play but does make it less clear and takes away from being engaged with the character.
Buggy. More QA needed on interactive points. Inferences around clues are often random and illogical. Good concept, mediocre execution.
Manipulating keys, pens, & other small objects nearly impossible. Used clues just to get on with game. Not fun since we adore Poirot & puzzle solving. IPhone 5 w/iOS 10. Perhaps iPad will be better? Potentially good game aside from that. We would try more Poirot/Agatha C. Games from developer.
Ive been playing this game for awhile ands we like it very much. However, we have spent 99 cents for 5 clues and have received 0 of the 15 clues Ive purchased. Theres a restore purchases button but when we press it, nothing happens. Should of went to google for our hints instead.
Frustrating to get stuck with no clues.
This is a great game, except we bought clues and never received them. The restore button also doesnt work. So, 62% into the game, and we cant progress.
This was a nice change of pace from the usual point-and-click adventure. Manipulating some of the objects was a bit cumbersome and hardly intuitive. The storyline wasinteresting and the puzzles were fun, although it was a bit short. WHERE MY ISSUES LIE: On four separate occasions we tried purchasing a clue. Three of these attempts were because it appeared as if we had missed the button on the screen, and needed to press again. What we want everyone to know, in hopes it won't happen to them, we NEVER RECEIVED the CLUES we PAID FOR. We have 20 unused clues somewhere. They cannot be restored. We have contacted Microids and never heard back from them. Which really gets us. We know the likelihood of getting a response is next to zero, but at least acknowledge there is a problem.
This game would be good if it didn't steal $2 from us. We tried buying extra clues twice now and it took our money, but didn't give us any clues. We're stuck on the broken spring in the music box. How do we get our money back and pass this level.
We have to reboot the game every 10 minutes or so. Get's locked up and you can't do anything. Sometimes the only have to move forward is to use a clue.
We purchased "Agatha Christie-The ABC Murders app on 11/23/16 from iTunes. The app crashes often, the touchpad points are somewhat sloppy, it won't let us make a checkmark on an initial question about the profit motive for the murder thus not letting us exit the first level of the game. It won't let us access the timeline or awards part of the menu from inside the mystery portion of the app. In short, the game doesn't work and is worthless to us. We have an iPad Mini. When the game worked we enjoyed it very much. Our first choice would be to have the game work. Our second choice would be to have our money refunded to us.
