When a game takes 15 minutes to get a villager to move a few feet, nah. Not for us. No intuition at all and too much focus on getting you to purchase a hero. Looks amazing but not playable at all.
This is just another mobile civ building game like Elvenar, Sea of Conquest, etc. Theres no RTS, no deign or construction, none of the management and stewardship of the classic games. How very disappointing.
Im uncertain why a number of reviews for this mobile version of the game claim that it takes them back to when they used to play it. This is hardly like it at all. It becomes obvious very quickly that this is yet another mobile game with the same, pay to get speed ups and warriors, foundation. The graphics are pretty nice, and the aesthetics are well-done overall, but it is a boring game. Certified brain rot, unfortunately. Would be cool if there were just a release of the actual old AoE games for like $5-$10 and just leave it at that. Miss this one.
This game is Age of Empires in name and a few familiar superficial reminders only. All historical context and real-time strategy of the classic AoE games are gone. This is nothing like the excellent AoE games of the past. Generic mobile civ-building that is divorced from history.

We were really hoping to feel the nostalgia of Age of Empires! We will never forget our first experience and the following complete infatuation with age of empires, we played a Star Wars Mod too that was incredible. This aint it guys, this is nothing like it really, other than being too down but thats it.
Not the same as the pc version; pc version you can control one unit by one unit and multi control groups of total army and villagers.. This mobile version, is kinda boring but kinda fun overboard things to do to check in, log in type stuff… Gather and send to fight.. Plenty of events snd other, but nothing compared to the pc advanced features.
Seems a lot like all the other mobile strategy games out there, but with classic AOE sounds and concepts. Im not sure we care for the mechanics of the world map and alliances of these games. Still, its kinda fun.
Nice, we just wish it was more strategic for us. Maybe it will get that way later on, but playing for 30 minutes hasnt needed much at all. We loved playing this game on our desktop growing up so we were intrigued when this came out.

Typical pay to play/win Mobile Game. Nothing super strategic compared to the PC game it was. Downloaded and played for a little bit but not worth it if you are looking for the OG feel.
Not really good , fighting mode really amateur.
What we used to like about the old Age of Empire games was the free play mode. Where we just chose how many opponents you wanted and just played at our own pace. Not the game we remember.
Game is not intuitive and relays heavily on cooperation. Fun once you get the hang of it but it often crashes or loses connection to the server.
For some reason single player content requires constant server connections. Most days we will get disconnect popups nearly every 30 seconds playing the game, despite having no problem with other games. Also, the amount of different content/tokens/currency is overwhelming. Ive never seen a game with such a confusing progression and currency system.
This was exciting but the pop up ads are not bad only had one with some game time so thats a plus the game is close to the original but mobile style kinda kills the fun waiting instead of letting you build open like the game to monetize it building the base little different units and fighting could have been open like the original great effort tho.
Slow introduction and tutorial just takes so long to finish and the game itself is very slow and bad.
We still play it but we will say this. Most players in top servers are P2W, so if you want to be controlled and your play style being limited because someone from an Asian country says so then this is the game for you. Not to mention server vs server battles are a joke so be ready to be steam rolled by someone that has zero life zero responsibilities other than wake up eat and play video games all day.
Ive played since the doors opened on October 2024. The games initial steps were great for about 2 months. After that, the cracks started to show. If you want to have fun in this game, youll likely have to spend money. Unfortunately, the power balance between players who spend money and those who dont spend is LARGE. Also, the game added more ways to gain power, however its a slow grind for F2P players. Players who pay will outshine completely. The rewards from events are not very good. Having to perform near the top in some events can equate to spending 10$-20$ in the shop. The 1st anniversary just passed and there were minimal free rewards. They wanted us to primarily celebrate by SPENDING money. Dumb. Go play a different game, or be ready to toss money into this game for a sprinkle of fun.
So far really digging this game. We ate this up as a kid on PC. Nice to see it make its way to a mobile platform.

One of the best games we cant tell you how long we used to play this game on our pc way back when and anno, love how they customized it for mobile keeps us playing this game just like the pc one did.
Ive watched our mom And brothers play this growing up, Im glad its on the apps now! Our personal favorite was watching the villagers go hunt for the meats.
But then it got better and better. Once you start to understand the game its very entertaining.
