What Makes Alto's Odyssey — Remastered Stand Out

Join Alto and his friends on an endless sandboarding journey to find The Lost City and unearth the secrets hidden within. Soar above windswept dunes, traverse thrilling canyons, explore ancient temples and delve into vast caverns in a fantastical place far from home.

On this journey, you’ll grind across vines, bounce atop hot air balloons, ride towering rock walls, glide in your wingsuit, and escape mischievous lemurs – all while uncovering the desert’s many mysteries.

• Easy to learn, difficult to master. At the heart of the Alto series is an elegant one-touch trick system. Chain together combos, and complete hundreds of goals to unlock new items and abilities — all with intuitive controls.

• Discover four stunning Biomes. From The Dunes, to The Canyons, The Temples, and, for the first time, The Lost City. Explore these rich and diverse landscapes, each boasting unique visuals and gameplay.

• Newfound heights. Uncover secrets in the sky with hot-air balloons, moving grind rails, wall riding and wingsuiting.

• Master the elements. In addition to dynamic lighting and weather effects like sandstorms and shooting stars, the desert is home to swirling wind vortexes and rushing water.

• Meet Alto and friends. Unlock six unique characters, each with their own attributes and abilities.

• Zen Mode. Complete with its own serene soundtrack, this meditative mode distills Odyssey down to its purest elements: no scores, no coins, and no power-ups. Just you and the endless desert.

• Original music and handcrafted audio. Headphones recommended!

Player Experience Highlights

Community Insight:

This game is so much fun. We can play it for an hour without taking a break it is calming and the music is incredible and the scenes are very pretty. The only problem is some minor bugs and glitches. That happen every once in a while but dont really hinder the fun of the game. Just get it.

The screen is too dark to see most obstacles. You shouldnt have to adjust the settings on your phone to enjoy an arcade game. In addition, in some areas, the background is dark so you cant even read the goals.

Paz is the worst player to play as and the missions with him are no fun, how am we supposed to smash anything if we cant even flip.

Fun for an hour, after that you have seen it all.

So we have played similar games to this and if the flip speed was just a bit quicker or if you were able to control it more or even if the flip control wasnt the same button as the jump it would be better.

When we first saw this game we wondered if it was going to be like the others but man was we wrong when we played it we felt like we were in the dessert (or maybe we been in Mississippi to long) but we loved it and we still remember the feeling when we were in the lost city we almost cried of how good it looks until next time see ya.

1) im often falling back to the ground with a chasm underneath us and we just fall straight in, and theres nothing we can do about it. It doesnt happen often enough for it to be unfun, but whenever it happens we get a bit irritated. Most the time it happens early in the run, though. If it happens past 5000ish meters we can always just wingsuit out of it no problem. 2) its kinda annoying when Im wingsuiting super close to the ground and we run into a rock. If im midair without the wingsuit or grinding close to the ground, we just bounce off of the rock. But when im in the suit it kills us which is annoying. 3) it would be nice to have the list of current goals on the endscreen every time, not just when you complete one. Btw we really love the sounds and music in this game other than those things, we love the game.

Beautiful gameplay, immersive, environments, and very relaxing.

1st it has really cool biomes and a Lost City and you can unlock lots of players you could do cool flips theres even a guide to help you we think this game is a lot of fun and we hope you enjoy it im writing this view because we love this game.

The graphics design is breathtaking and the sound effects and music is right on point. The game utilizes Vision Pros great color spectrum and surround sound. Now just add horizontal position support and Ill be a happier camper.

Have to re-enable ProMotion every time the app starts & sometimes the UI text is too dark to read. 5 stars since regardless, this game is a masterpiece. Thank you.

There are a lot of good things about this game but we wish there were more characters.

Another Apple Arcade game that's been enhanced for the Vision Pro. This is a slick, endless runner where your character basically skis across various landscapes, as you attempt to jump, somersault and make perfect landings. The visuals are well done, and hand gesture control for the Apple Vision Pro is spot on. No need to hold a pad with two hands, just rest your arm and gesture away to success! We love these types of enhanced Apple Arcade games. We don't need another VR system with endless first person bro shooters. They've already saturated the gaming industry.

The game is almost perfect but we feel it could do with more diverse biomes. Suggestions: Jungles Beach Cave Swamp Forest Winter Forest Mountain we feel caves/mines would be a great tool to put between super diverse biomes instead of just spitting someone from the dunes into a beach If you note down this review, thank you, this is our biggest dream for this game.

One of the best games Ive ever played. We used to play Altos Adventure, but discovered this and have played it ever since! We love how smooth the movement is, and the different things that can happen. One of our favorite memories from playing was the time when we got 3 solar eclipses in a row. All in all, we would highly recommend it and would love to see new features added.

We absolutely love this game and we think it adds a nice spin on the original game and we do agree with other people's complaints about the game, our only complaint is that after you get to the temples you unlock the compass. That initself is fine but what the compass does is it can take you to a specific biome for 1000 coins, personally we think that 1000 coming is to much for such a small task.

This game is both addictive and creative at the same time! We love the biomes and challenges that come with them. The weather feature is even more magical, and it has a mind of its own! We really dont get what the hate is about. This is the first Alto game we have played, so we didnt play the first one, but we love the oddessy. Good game.

This game is one of the first games that we downloaded on our phone. We were immediately blown away by the soundtrack, graphics, and simple controls. Ive been playing it since it came out, and have reached the top 1% in the point total and combo multiplier areas. We love playing the game, and it is the only blue game that we feel is worth playing after you finish some important milestone or completion beyond other Alto products. That said, we have been experiencing a bug where the lemur glitches of the ground sometimes and is not consistently touching the surface realistically, we.e running inter a grind before the game corrects itself as the lemur drifts back into place. Also, when the ground leaves the screen from a steep hill or other phenomena and the lemur catches up to us, the lemur appears in the air. One time when this happened, the lemur actually knocked us off our board. We are aware of this mechanic, but we would love to see this bug fixed so we dont have to worry about it anymore. Also, we would love to see more attention payed to the game, as it has a lot more potential. Even moderately sized updates would be nice. Again, this game is amazing and we love its simple quality. We would love to see what team Alto does next, if anything at all. Thanks for reading this review, devs.

Our data from Altos odyssey is not transferring and we dont know why.

The gameplay: amazingly creative. The art: stunning. The ambience: realistic and calming. This game is so good. We love it.

Even though the game is supposed to support controllers, it doesn't recognize our playstation 5 controller. We updated the firmware on our controller and the issue still persists. Please help. We'd love to play your game with our controller.

This a great and fun game, just one thing needs to be changed. Make the skier a little brighter in the dark. Cant tell if the skier is right side up when doing tricks. Keep land on the skiers head. Other than that, the game is addictive and challenging. Love to play the game.

Great game, wonderful designed. Please fix the bug in lost city. Lost goal Wing-suit through 5 waterfalls in the lost city shows up twice in the list of goals. And when wingsuiting through a waterfall it doesnt register the data. So this task cannot be completed.

We just love this game the combination of visuals and music is unparalleled great job by development team. Our only issue is every-time we open game Im having to select promotion 120hz and it doesnt remember our selection.

We love this game, it is a big step up from the previous which was still a very good game in itself, but our problem now is that it keeps taking us back to the lost city. Its a beautiful work of art and a wonderful place to ride through, but we are being taken there for every other biome generation. We would like to see some of the other biomes chained together before we get to the lost city. We have been having to buy our way into the biomes we want to see using the compass. We absolutely love this game though.

Great game, but please fix the bug that unchecks the promotion toggle each time the game is restarted. Thank you.

The game is good but it has some bugs. When we start the game Alto starts flipping without us even touching the screen! Its kinda annoying when your trying to play the game seriously.

Have odyssey & Im level 49 but on lost city it tells theres no data to be transferred. Please help. Thank you.

This game has a classic arcade feel of jumping and flipping over things with smooth gameplay and gorgeous graphics. The game itself is pretty relaxing. The only complaint is it gets repetitive but not a huge problem since we can sit it down and pick it back up a few months later. We kinda wish there were more drastically different scenes though.

We love the game and Ive enjoyed playing. We just wish the cost of travel wasnt 1,000 coin. That would make traveling back to the lost city a lot easier to complete the large number of those challenges. We get that its supposed to be a bit more complicated to keep you hooked but its slightly annoying we have to pay so much to travel back to the lost city and you kind of fly thought that part of the map.

Its rarely day in this game and the night is such low contrast.

The game is great, but the fact we have to re-enable ProMotion in the settings every time we launch it is extremely frustrating.

And by dark we mean, literally, dark. In the nighttime scenes, we often cant tell the orientation of Alto (or whomever) against the rocks, structures, etc. Some of the text is also lost in the background. It has a wonderful new area, the Lost City, and the game play is the same and very very good. We just cant see our player at times and that knocks down our rating a couple of pegs.

For several days now we have been stuck on the goal to wallride onto a grind three times in one run. It is near impossible because the map changes every time and a wallride next to a grind rarely ever spawns and if it does, it doesnt spawn three times in one run. Im still giving three stars because the game is very fun and we enjoy playing it aside from the fact that we cant level up and every time we want to complete a lost goal, we have to pay 1000 coins just to get to the lost city.

We can navigate in the game but unable to confirm anthing with a XBOX wireless controller.

Too often the screen is so dark it makes it unplayable. FIX IT.

Not really much to this game. Click to jump or flip. Gets old fast.

For some reason, the haptics keep turning off. They arent in the settings bar at all, so we have no way to turn them back on. If we reset the game, they come back until we exit the app, at which point they disappear again.

The app worked great when we first downloaded it bu know we cant get past the black screen to actually play the game.

Cant even hear anything without headphones lol.

We cant stand playing this anymore to get the final figure person whatever her name is we just wanted to end and be a little bit more interesting than the city perhaps a dirigible or a party at the end or perhaps, depending on your choice of sex you get to be with a princess or if female then a prince, or at least some kind of congratulations for wasting immense amounts of time to get to the very end?CHEAT ALLOW ME TO CHEAT AND BE DONE!.HA.. Otherwise a very fun game for a while. We suggest being able to land in a balloon basket and sail upwards into some kind of cloud party or something anything really to add a finality.

We had to stop in the middle of our game to write a review because of how beautiful this game is. This game checks the box for everyone. The beauty and detail with the perfect relaxing music in the background make the game stand out from others. We seriously can not believe how relaxing this is even without the zen mode. We would really love to see more updates and maybe different variation of music and/or a new area! Please take this into consideration because we will be playing this game for a while. Such a wonderful work of art.

Having really bad performance issues on iPhone 14 pro max when in pro motion mode, VERY noticeable framerate drops every couple seconds, love the game otherwise, but please fix.

This was the first game we played when we first got an electronic device. And the only complaint we have is that when youre listening to music, it automatically turns off when you get into the game. But otherwise, a amazing game.

Altos Adventure was one of the first games we ever played and god what an adventure it was. Beautiful landscapes, incredible gameplay, and deep contemplative beautiful soundtracks. Odyssey does not live up to this. Even with the addition of the lost city as a part of this game being on the arcade, odyssey still lacks a certain authenticity and atmosphere intrinsic to the first game. Namely the soundtrack is not nearly as touching or well done as the first games was. Odysseys soundtrack is perfectly fine to listen to while playing the game, but we would never listen to it alone, compared to Adventures soundtrack which we would enjoy simply sitting down and listening to. In terms of gameplay little changes between Adventure and Odyssey. Wall riding and other elements like pool dives are nice, but appear far too little to add that much to your gameplay experience. Especially since wall riding rarely appears, if at all, outside of the canyon lands. All this being said, there are some upsides to the game. Namely, the new biomes add variety to the terrain and gameplay, and while the scenery isnt as nice as the original, its still pretty to look at. Overall, this sequel is much of the same and worth getting if youve not played the original game, but if you have this game will be less of an experience than the original and therefore is not worth getting.

Its fun but not as much as its predecessor. Unlike its predecessor, this game cant be won. It takes an incredible amount of chance to be able to get the goals.

If you have progress saved on your old altos odyssey, it will not transfer over. The game is amazing but a complete loss of progress is so demoralizing. Amazing game, but that grind is too boring to do again.

This game is just like altos adventure, but worse, heres a few reasons why. 1. Chasms The chasms are really annoying, sometimes they are very wide and the character doesnt have enough speed to get across the chasm, this is also why we purchased the wingsuit a while back, because the chasms are almost impossible to get over because the character is too slow to get across the chasm 2. Prices need to lowered in the workshop You need to lower the prices for some of the stuff in the workshop, for example, the helmets cost 1500 coins, thats too expensive for just a one time use items, lower the price for helmets to 500 coins instead, nextly it costs 3000 coins to get a chasm rescue, that too expensive to, lower the price for chasm rescues to 1000 coins instead, in altos adventure, if you own tupa, you can get a free chasm rescue in each run 3. Pause button The pause button at the bottom of the screen is just annoying, every time we try to do backflips, we end up touching the pause button, it would be nice if the pause button was at the top of the screen instead 4. The backflips are just the worst The characters backflip so freaking slowly, Alto and Paz are probably the worst characters ever, they backflip freaking slow, please increase the speed of Alto and Pazs backflips 5. The goals The goals are stupid and sometimes almost impossible to complete, Im on level 42 and Im stuck on this one goal that says do 10 wall jumps in one run we dont know what a wall jump is Therefore if you are thinking about getting this game or even the paid version of this game, go download another game through Apple Arcade, this game isnt worth your Apple Arcade subscription, trust us, there is other games through Apple Arcade. Rant Over.

Starting screen comes up and says tap to start. But nothing happens.
