Hear from the Players – Aralon: Forge and Flame Reviews

Find out what gamers are saying about Aralon: Forge and Flame:

We really love this game. It’s one of the few we’ve kept and never deleted. We’ve played all the way through it 3 times already using different classes. We’re trying the Mage class this time, but we honestly don’t think it can be done. We’re very, very early in the game and it’s almost impossible to complete a quest because it’s so hard to kill anything. Maybe it’s like D&D, when the magic classes always start out weak, but end up as some of the most powerful characters. We’re definitely finding it hard with the Mage class, but love the game!

This is a fun game if you enjoy open world RPGs. It is not heavy on story, but it makes up for it in exploration and combat. The controls work great on an iPad. Worth the money.

First, can you make a full screen support? The game can not fix our 13 pro max’ s screen. Second, if therere some extra bosses like the fire dragon in sword and shadow, we wouldnt feel bored after running through the main story. Third, will you update this game and make it on arcade? It looks like the pocket mini verson of world of warcraft, or elder scrolls, or zelda breath of the wild. We really have fun with the exploration. We enjoy the epic background music. But it also looks like a semi-finished product and there are some bugs. Thought this game isn’ t perfect, we love it. Maybe the next aralon can be the remake of sword and shadow? And the new one will be made with new unreal engine, and on arcade?

We had the first game (aralon sword and shadow) and even though we loved the first one more than this one, this is still an AMAZING game for being on mobile, an open world rpg with a world big enough for you to explore and do many things, this game truly gave us some good memories as a kid, well worth the purchase!!

We love RPGs, Aralon is a great mobile one! We played when it came out when we were a young kid and it was so much fun for us, so we downloaded it again now that Im older and its still very fun! The campaign is interesting and fun! Its not a really hard grind but its a fun amount! The game is worth the money, so is sword and shadow! We recommend this game to you!

Great game, just getting into it.

It’s really a good game, once we started we had a hard time playing it because we had an outdated device, but once we had upgraded our device, we loved it! But what we would love more is some more faces to choose from and an option to show helmets. Just a suggestion, but we are super hyped for Ravensword: Legacy, so please hurry!

We still love this game even after it being out for so long! If you like an open world and a lot of different classes to try give it a go!

Written on: Saturday April 28, 2018 Seriously though, NOTHING is wrong with this game. This is a mobile sequel to the first Aralon which you all liked so what’s different about this one?!? Really, It’s the same game with just a vast improvement in graphics and as a bonus they put in full voice acting too. Yes, we suppose its not as graphically touched up considering the first one came out in 2010 5 years ago however, it’s still miles better! We bought this game yesterday April 27 and it’s really a top notch game compared to the first. The fact that people complained about the combat is absurd since the combat is the same in the first just with 3 more fighting animations… And looting is the same too! The fact that enemies no longer spawn back once you kill them makes it more like an RPG since now you have to really explore the environment to find them (oh, wait we forgot people are lazy) The length of the game is said to be 3 hrs and while it’s not the longest game in the world( the first one was the same length or shorter) it provides as much as it needs to!( oh wait, people are lazy to explore and expect a game to be very long) we personally don’t find a problem with this since it can take us multiple days to complete a game!!! In conclusion, Almost everything is more improved upon in the sequel, from the combat and environments to the weather and animations… And even the menus and character objectives are much better organized… Yet people still complain like babies!!!!!!!! Great job on the sequel!!

If you liked Aralon: Sword and Shadow, you will enjoy this installment as well. Not much in terms of gameplay changed, besides a few small things like fireplaces to cook food at or whatnot. The graphics are better, and the skilltrees for each class are still pretty great. The stody starts off much worse than sword and shadow, but picks up a bit halfway through and ultimately is a lot less cliche than the 1st games: Get these items to defeat evil demon guy. The amount of gameplay in this for an iphone is astounding honestly, and it is a good amount of fun. There are tons of sidequests, a simple law system, and some other cool world stuff like in the first game. Overall, the game is a very small improvement from the first game, but it is at least new content and new places and enemies and things to discover.

This is a great game however it would be nice to see a few added things. Multiplayer, more content and stuff to do after you beat the game. First person looks really bad so it needs to be fixed. More character customization would be better. Different types of armor and weapons or class specific gear would be gear. Sneaking, pickpockets, and stealing items would be nice. More stuff to buy would be nice like houses and gear. Enchanting and making poisons would be cool. Quest trackers so we know where we’re going. Differences between different weapons. A description of what the effects do would be helpful. Anyways that’s just a few. We hope to see more updates for this game! Make it worth our $5!!!!!!

We brought this game to play with our Nimbus controller, but after this new update , there is no controller support for our iPad Pro, it still works with our IPhone. Love this game but please fix this issue.

When we were younger we left a bad review for this game, but now taking a second look at it, we think its not that bad. We still perfer the original, but this one has better graphics & the skills are a lot easier to use/look better during combat. Even though the story is definitely more bare bones than the original, & they didnt add enough new skills imo, its still worth playing imo.

We don’t understand it, the graphics are Better than Avalon sword and shadow, but the gameplay is worse. Still a great game, though it eats battery life.

It is a good game, with the exception of some bugs, and a rather lackluster story. This is basically Aralon 1.5 with armor and weps not being locked behind classes. A few things bugged us however, aside from well the bugs, why exactly is there no helms? Or at least visible helms? Why do all the character models for male players look like old men despite the fact that they are supposed to be teens? Why do the elven players have digitigrade legs in the menus? It is a fun little game to run around in however, so oh well we suppose.

Good game that has the potential to be a 5 star game. This aralon was so much quicker and less involved than its predecessor.

Well, we really like the improvements to visuals over Aralon. But there is a lot more to be added and a huge amounts of bugs to sort out. Like, if the soldiers fall into the water, they should be able to die. They can live like mer-people, indefinitely under the water. Add a little more diversity to conversation. Add newer visuals, add blacksmiths that can make weapons out of items YOU chose and give and decide on what type it should come out as. And let their be a significant cost and the ability to succeed or fail. Add sockets to weapons and armors. And add the ability to see what helm out character is wearing. Add a title for the heroic deeds. Add multiplayer. Add better steering and movement physics for our pets and rides. Like, why does the character keep bouncing up and down in the dragon? Seems like the same sprite was used as is for the horse. Add more pets and rides. So much to do, no? But this game is still epic in its own regard. We highly recommend getting it as it is.

Sorely disappointed with NOT being able to use our Steel Series Nimbus controller on our 10.5 iPad Pro with this game. It didnt work with our old iPad Air2 either however it works on the iPhone 6 Plus and 8 plus. Please add support for the controllers on iPad so we can change our rating.

In the original Aralon you were able to face human enemies as many times as you desired, as well as loot weapons and armor from the fallen enemies. But in the second installment the only thing you can loot from fallen enemies is their armor, and the gold looted is ridiculously low. Think we could fix this problem?

Travel to… And battle demons. Where?

We purchased this after we had enjoyed the previous sequels, hoping that this one be an underrated jewel. We were wrong – it’s a horrible game with very poor field design, game system and voice acting. When other people give it 1~3 stars, there should be a good reason, which was what we realized too late.

ALL THE ENEMIES IN THIS GAME ARE ESSENTIALLY A 1 hit kill so it is impossible to beat SMFH.

There is no mfi support for Aralon on Ipad devices.

Look, you developers are amazing, but we think youve abandoned this game and the Aralon franchise as a whole. If you could at least add something new, even something simple as iPhone X support, we will give 5 stars.

Please fix problem with gamepad nimbus!!!

Lazy plot. Similar to old one but we beat in like 3 hrs. Not worth 4.99.

We played the first game and we were really excited to play this one and everything we see online says it works with a controller And every other game on our iPad with mfi capability works with our Xbox controller except this one. It recognizes that theres a controller hooked up but nothing works. We want to scream and cry cuz this game would be so good with a controller. Please help!!! Wondering what the deal is. Cant find any help on any site.

Dont buy finished in just a few days very short.

This game was overall pretty good and fun to play, the only thing that disappointed us was the character creation. You don’t have nearly as many options compared to its previous title, which we find odd. But really nice game whatsoever.

We played the first one and it was ok. After playing a few hours of this one, much more enjoyable. We payed a dollar and it is easily worth the 5 dollar price. If you liked the first, you will love this one, small fixes make it much better, a very enjoyable game..

We’ve been waiting forever for this game and it’s everything I’d hoped for. Very pleased with the quick updates to fix minor bugs.

So far so good. Definitely in the spirit of Aralon : Sword and Shadow. Similar game play and controls work well both as touch and using MFI. We were very satisfied with the game. We did not run into any of the issues others reported. We only wish the game was even longer !!

Add more Features and contents like lock picking,weapon/armor/potions crafting and npc where you can buy or sell items and more quest that rewards you stuffs and money and pls make the game more smoother for better performance.

We haven’t enjoyed a game off the AppStore as much as this in a long while. There’s a lot of potential here to expand this game.

This game is super fun and worth buying but we wish there was more content and you could play as a groll or goblin.

We feel that the game is too short as we finished it in only half a week, and noticed that it had pretty much the same missions and character abilities as Aralon: Shadow and Sword.

Gamer Tips: 1. BUY THIS GAME ITS ONLY A BUCK!!! 2. Take your time! We rushed through the main quest and was disappointed when we couldn’t explore a couple of the maps with the hardest baddies after we completed the main quest. Would love a way to return to the ice island and the elven island. That said we thoroughly enjoyed this game and am a huge fan of the Crescant Moon RPG. Lots to do and complete freedom over pacing and levels of exploration. The story was engaging and they did a good job foreshadowing as things went along. Would have personally liked a couple more characters/descendants from sword and shadow, but we did enjoy the ones that were there. Battles were a great balance of skill and gear. It might take you a few tries but it’s possible to beat badguys that maybe you aren’t normally a match for. The saving system was also great and we often used it to make up for accidentally stealing something or trying some foolhardy stunt. SAVE OFTEN EVERYBODY! Honestly the graphics were pretty disappointing at the beginning but they got better as you go. Still our character often sported a double knee on the right leg, the ground was occasionally quite brighter than the sky, and talking to the odd faceless character was a bit unnerving BUT ITS A PHONE GAME so it’s amazing for what it is. We were personally hoping for Ravensword 2 graphics in Aralon, but we understand that it’s not easy to make a game like that. Gameplay controls take some getting used to but work great after a while. We loved the ability to use your bow close range as well as long so you don’t have to split your attention between melee and ranged. We wish the mounts in particular would have been the same as Aralon. We spend a good portion of playing time walking back to our horse who we left at the beginning of the trail of baddies. Quick Travel would make up for this. We like the resting and eating elements which add realism although we didn’t think they played a big part as we completed the entire main quest without eating or sleeping! We wish there was more of a gradual level up to weapons. Being a ranger we went to the ash and stave in Tyran Ridge right away and from then on committed the rest of our skill points to agility so we could use their best ranges option. It took us about a half hour to get high enough and that bow lasted the rest of the game with nothing replacing it. It would have been neat to open a sarcophagus for example and find a super bow that’s better than anything you can buy. That said we’re used to how these games work so maybe we had an easier time of it than most people. I’d say the same things about foes. Once we got our balanced greatbow and got the fatal shot ability we could best just about anything with ease. (Except for the Liberian Savages which now we can’t go back and face properly.) Aralon and Ravensword both forced you to take side quests because the rats in the sewer would eat you alive if you tried going down there as soon as you got the quest. There were also a lot of side rooms like the thieves den that had very hard bosses that you could fight after completing most or all of the main quest. We missed those in this new installment. All in all it felt like a scaled down Aralon, but it offered yet another great RPG to waste time on! Great.

It’s like they shot for the stars while in the basement, an amazing idea but horrible execution.

This game needs difficulty setting too much grinding.

Please for the life of us update it again.

We thoroughly enjoyed the other Aralon game on iOS, played it through. This version is so frustrating in terms of its gameplay that we deleted it within two days. For example, as a ranger you cannot really engage targets at a distance – what’s the point of a bow and arrow then? The unintuitive controls guaranteed a drowning on a beach. Etc. It’s a pity, we really enjoyed the other instance of Aralon.

The avatar moves at such an agonizing slow pace when running and swimming. There is no "sprint" button. There’s also no "jump" button to get out of those ledges that the avatar SHOULD be able to climb up! Also, why is there no quest marker to help guide us toward our next objective?! Do you game makers know how hard and annoying that is?! The best we can do is go to our avatar menu and go to map, EACH AND EVERY TIME. We still don’t have much of an idea where to go anyway! It has a whole lot of potential. It would be better if only they add what should already be in the game. We shouldn’t even have to bring this up! We would have given this one star, but we saw much potential in it, and so we gave it two stars. Please add these! They’re very important to a game!

You have missions, but on your third mission you get continuously get killed. Not worth $5.

When the graphics are set to high, this actually makes our 6s+ uncomfortably hot to the touch. The pinch to change perspective usually doesn’t work, and there are weird graphical bugs. We liked the first Aralon and both Ravensword games, but this one isn’t so great.

The game had good upgrade on the graphics but it really didn’t add on to the story it was really overhyped took to this like the duke nukem forever situation all over again we really am dissatisfied we got this in hype mode when we got this when we were about 20 minutes in we couldn’t play anymore the 1st game rules, they should at least follow up on the 1st with a 3rd game and please if the creators see this follow up with a game where you play as the child of your character from the 1st game please.

Its easy to get stuck. There are random holes in the levels that make your character fall into nothingness. Combat gets super stale. There are no map markers and the map itself is hard to read. If those problems were fixed it would still be a boring underwhelming over-priced crap fest.

We’ve played both Aralon: Sword and Shadow and Ravensword: Shadowlands, and we can say that this game doesn’t meet the same standard that those other 2 IOS games set for mobile rpg games. There were already so many flaws in just the first 10 minutes of gameplay, we just deleted the app out of disgust. It is sad to say that the first Aralon game is much better than this one. The story was captivating, but the gameplay was weak and unsatisfying for forge and flame. They could have accomplished much with this game, but it just turned out to be a major disappointment. It’s not worth the $2.00 we paid for it and much less their original $5.00. Crescent moon games has the potential to bring a satisfying rpg mobile game to the market, but this was just a disaster. If you are looking for a good rpg game, then you haven’t found one here. But don’t stop your search for a rpg here. While this was.

Lots of fun. Runs fine on iPad Air 2.

Better than first game. As close to Skyrim as you can get right now!
