Player Experience Highlights
Community Insight:
We dont leave reviews, but wow, this game is so good. The depth in character development is on another level. Gives us Path of Exile vibes on how much customization there is. 100% try this game if you like to theory craft skills, gear, and party comp. The game is text based, but graphics arent what make a game good. After interacting with the dev in discord and seeing how much they care about their product, we needed to come tell everyone to try this game out.
Artesnaut is a great hybrid of idle meets jrpg aspects. Theres quite a bit of customization that goes into developing your chosen party as well as a fairly cohesive narrative. Last played several years ago and it was an enjoyable experience, enough to return to it which isnt something most idle games would be described as. Likewise, one time purchases can greatly impact gameplay, to the point where a subscription seems unnecessary. This is an app that balances payment without being too greedy if you want to see faster progression, which as several one-time purchases as a permanent boost as well as skills/classes that increase speeding through content.
Extremely good party manager with myriad varieties of loot.
We haven't even changed jobs yet or started looking at what different synergies there are. Great filter mechanism for gear but really needs some kind of sorting mechanism. Maybe we just haven't figured it out yet but dismantling can get tedious. Still very much enjoying it so far.
Wish there was a twitch integration mode this is really fun. Like solo leveling vibe feeling.
No p2w mechanics, no gacha, free to play. Story is like a novel and has lore. Main appeal is team building by mixing and matching races classes sub classes, equipment and equipment modifiers. Super fun.
This is a very fun game and the amount of detail and depth makes it fun, unique, and intricate. Tons of options for stats that definitely scratch that itch for Min-Maxers. Loads of character build customizations for skills and class.
Its a good game but only if you like to read a story while playing. Not much visual action but its still a cool concept and in our opinion underrated.
This game is actually pretty good, if youre into rpg text type things, its really cool in detail, like we got this sword of night that when equipped makes that section of the game night time for as long as its equipped, we stopped playing mostly because we just got a bit repetitive in how we played at least which was a good 2-3 weeks, its not that we didnt like the combat we just didnt really have that many options for classes and races because we played pretty early near launch, the text and dialogue you get is pretty cool and the skills that you can equip to your characters.
We've been looking for a JRPG style incremental for a long time. This one checks all the boxes while also using random loot, one of our other favorite things. Spent money on the in app purchases and do not regret it for a second. There are a lot of options for playstyles from heavily interactive to mostly idle. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an incremental idle RPG with a lot of build strategy and many unlockable features. The story is a nice bonus too.
To be honest 90% of the reasons we played this game is to build our favorite fantasy or anime characters in this game with their images but now we have to pay for that one unique aspect that made this game fun for us. We honestly wouldnt mind paying for it if we had the extra cash but to get a brand new update after so long and get smacked in the face with that feels sorta bad. Also the game didnt even add new images that were at least free to compensate a bit. We only noticed this problem because the new update broke so many of our characters builds that we wanted to relearn the classes from the very beginning but couldnt add any images. Anyway, we might try and see if the new content is enough to replace the reason we liked this game but that alone is probably a long shot.
Love the game, lots of character customization and are able to make creative builds. Just hope that they get more of the translation out.
This game is a hidden gem. The battling is purely idle. You setup your party and give them equipment you earn but the battle is automated with no animation. We thought we would hate this, but we decided to give it a decent chance. What we find most enjoyable is the story. It is all text based, so if reading isnt your thing maybe not the game for you. We thought that at first too, but the more we play the more we enjoy the story. We do find it enjoyable to tinker with equipment, different party member and the various job classes. We have only been playing about 10 days on and off, but it fits our life style. We pop on for a few minutes, set things up and let it do its thing while we go enjoy life, then check back in periodically. It feels rewarding to unlock the next part of the story after letting your party auto battle for a while. We have been kicking around the idea of spending a few bucks because the in app purchases dont seem like they are game breaking or predatory. And all bonuses are permanently unlocked. Overall we are shocked at how much we are enjoying the game and Id recommend it to anyone who likes a good story along with some very casual gameplay.
A challenging and rewarding Idle RPG. It may not have as much flash as other larger production apps, but its mechanics are deep and make for enjoyable team building. A lively Japanese forum and wiki exist and google translate can make up a lot of the language gap. Refreshing to have to rely on your own skills of observation and ingenuity to beat a difficult encounter (were all so used to simply googling strategies eh) The developer is in the official Discord and seems to take player concerns to heart. Very playable for free, but worth a few bucks to support such a well developed labor of love. Give the game a shot. Well worth the time.
So, normally we do not review but we were amazed on how accessible the game is. We just want to let the developer know that there are some buttons that are not labeled. If they can please be labeled a little bit more. We think that will be a very great game for people who has a visual impairment.
This is a hidden gem. Since Ive started playing it its been a world of fun. The loot system is fun! We love personalizing our characters! We just really love the style and feel of the game. We hope we see more updates soon if possible and if not Im enjoying it regardless.
The game mechanics is surely fun, especially the freedom in job selection and equipment drop (although too much RNG in equipment combination). However, the English translator is what we would like to admire most! English is no native tongue to us, but this games English translation is the first time we get the beauty of literature in English. Either he/she is that talented, or he/she spent lots of efforts polishing it. In these days, in many games, dialogues and scripts are considered as long as theres something, thats good enough. This translator is quite the opposite, we bet he worked like writing a novel of his/her own. We really hope he/she can get extra rewards for the quality of the work and get widely recognized since this games English version is quite niche as far as we can see.
MmhI really wanted to give this game a 5. This game is basically a novel but every few pages there is a battle element that acts independent of you and just takes time. Pretty neat idea. The actual idle feature of sending your units on missions, equipping, and assigning them different classes is cool too (though the classes all get thrown on you very quickly and would probably have been better if done more incrementally somehowor if you did things to unlock various professions). The main issue we have with the game is its incomplete. Its like reading a fantasy novel, putting many many hours in then realizing the last half of the book is blankepic cliffhanger. Of course this wouldnt be an issue if the content/story was updated regularlybut as you can see, the game has not been updated much in the past half year. The most recent update, as far as we can tell didnt even add anything to the story (which stops at chapter 3 which seems to be halfway through). This is a bit unfortunate given we had just put some money into the game too Anyways, we think the game/story is actually dead and wont be completed given the long wait in story development. But who knows, maybe things will pick up.
Its only half of the story and it may never be finished? We dont think so. Thats really dumb.
We cant put this game down. It strikes a perfect balance between building teams around interesting mechanics, grinding for better loot (tons of rng in a good way), and idle battling. We love the multi-job system. Having a blast.
Game has great depth and details. The story is fascinating and the ability to create your own unique characters is wonderful.
Good work to the devs, especially the English translators! As someone who hasnt played a text-based RPG before, we think this game is really fun. We love reading about the lore.
Imagine if you combined a classical JRPG like Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest with a riveting novel and then turned it into an idle game with thousands of unique items, a half-dozen different character classes, and dozens of uniquely scripted story units all unlocked just by playing the game. The only in-app purchases speed up the game, but as its an idle game youll probably not even need to. We wish more developers were making games like this. So glad they decided to localize this game. Loving the story; amazing writing.
Sadly it hasnt been updated in almost a year. Please just give us the same client as jp and just do your translations on there! And focus on just translating items and skill descriptions instead. Story can be put off until later if ever.
Sounded. Looked. And probably was fun. But, even though it hasnt been out long, it doesnt work. Wont let us connect.
