A Glimpse into Ayakashi & Sweets | Otome Game

◆The Game◆
The Mysterious Ayakashi and the Sweets Shops: A Love Story is a romance game for women. The game plays like reading a novel. You continue to read the story, you make choices, and simply enjoy a romantic relationship with a great male character of your choosing.

◆The Story◆
Welcome to the Spirit World, a town under the supervision of the nine-tailed fox spirit Tsukumo.
As our heroine, you wandered into the Spirit World as a ghost roughly one year ago. Without any recollection of how you died, or what your unfinished business may be, you are left unable to pass on.
When you were alive, you were the heir to your family’s long-established traditional Japanese confectionary business. But now, with Tsukumo’s assistance, you’ve opened up your own sweets shop as your pass your time in the Spirit World. Set free from the strict disciplines forced upon you as heir to your family business, you are able to remember the joy you attain from making sweets as you spend colorful, entertaining days in the Spirit World. You start to think that maybe you will continue living on like this until you become an Ayakashi, the spirits who inhabit this world…

◆The Characters◆
Tsukumo
A nine-tailed fox.
Tsukumo is the animated overseer of the Spirit World, honored and respected by all who live in town. Though he is always trying to skip out on work, deep down Tsukumo is of a very serious nature. He even has a lonely side to him. In true Ayakashi-fashion, he displays unabashed gluttony for that which he desires, but he also possesses a gentle soul.
He loves the sweets made by our heroine.
"Mmm, it’s delicious! Your confections are the best in the world!"

Akatsuki
An ogre. Tsukumo’s old friend.
Akatsuki is a regular at our heroine’s sweets shop. While he may possess great strength, Akatsuki suffers from an inferiority complex as he is only half-Ayakashi. To compensate for this, he is tenacious about improving his strength.
Our heroine seems to have caught his eye in a way no other has done.
"Don’t touch me. You shouldn’t be anywhere near me."

Yuki
A snow man acting as Tsukumo’s aide.
Yuki is always chasing after Tsukumo with a stern hand, dragging him back to work when he goofs off. With a gentle, kind personality, he is an older brother of sorts to our heroine.
"I’ll always be there as your brother."

Mike
A Nekomata cat spirit who is considered young amongst the other Ayakashi.
Mike owns and operates his own bakery, the Cat Cakery, next to our heroine’s shop. Depending on how you look at him, you might think he’s either simply straightforward, or a little naive. Mike loves to compete with our heroine over who can rake in the most sales.
"Hey! I came to see how empty your shop was today!"

Haruto
A ghost who works as a popular waiter at Cat Cakery.
His almost frustratingly charming personality is tough to put a finger on, making him popular with the women, who he treats oh-so favorably. Haruto takes a liking to our heroine for some reason, and enjoys leading her on, only to revel in her embarrassment. It seems that Haruto has been living in the Spirit World before our heroine’s arrival, but it is unclear why he has become a ghost.
"We’re both already dead, so our lives are over…but I believe we can still find happiness in the future."

Its got really good art, tons of illustrations, adorable moments, & lots of different characters (each having a really unique personality) u do have 2 pay 4 each route but theres no working involved in the game (u just read the stories whenever u want) one thing we dont like is that they make u pay extra 4 a sequel, but honestly that doesnt bother us as theres still endings that come with ur purchase If ur ok with spending a little money then we definitely recommend this game!

Pretty upset that you dont get to finish. Thought it was a really nice game at first, great character art, and a good plot. However we ended up deleting it, since you have to pay money for the rest of the stories.

Story lasted longer than we expected! We thought it was done around chapter 11, but it continued! At least the story we went through. We do prefer the visual novels and Otome games like this where we can just buy the story and read through it, as opposed to some free ones that make it difficult to get through without the micro transactions. Different benefits to each. Overall was better than we expected!

Possible SPOILERS! We LOVE this game and one reason why is the fact that it gives you a Good End and a True End (you’ll see what we mean) but we truly enjoy those types. We wish it had a Bad End (like a horrible bad end lol) that way you had a chance of getting the "good, bad, and true end" but sadly it doesn’t. Only annoying thing about this is that each characters story kinda overlaps so if you read one and are trying another character some parts you’ll be rereading. Ex: say you choose character 1. A fight scene happens, things are said, then your with the character on their route. In Character 2’s route it’ll be the same fight scene, same things said then then some different scenes relating to Character 2’s route.) Other then that minor annoyance, we really loved this game and enjoyed it! Please make more like this lol ^^

We’re a sucker for these types of stories. Plot is very nice. Artwork and background illustrations are also, beautiful. There are no voice acting. Just wish you can get a free ep each day, but we guess that’s not the case here. Gotta purchase route in order to continue. It’s a lil disappointing that we can’t continue. It’s really a nice game. No dolling up avatar/ grinding bull crap like other otome games here. Please consider giving free episodes daily. Best regards!

We really do enjoy the game, just.. Its a bit of a shame that in order to progress the main story, we have to purchase it.. And as someone who, doesnt really like spending money much, especially on games, this was rather disappointing. But other than that, we think the plot is interesting! Plus, the art style is very lovely indeed.

Its a great game besides the repetitive memory days. We have come across a bug where even though we’ve bought/shared the sequel and we don’t get it unlocked, with an error code popping up. We really hope they get that fixed,

We’ve logged in three days in a row expecting, like most of these story games, that free chapters would be available daily as in the description of this app it never mentions required purchase. We think we managed to read three days worth of material before hitting the wall..

We never write reviews but we wanted to sincerely thank the game developers for this beautiful masterpiece . We play otome games on PSP and PSV . Every ios game that we’ve tried has let us down They make you wait every day for only a very short story process and you have to pay to get the premium stories And the plot is the same thing over and over again . Youre someone so important all of a sudden and have to make a choice etc. Instead in this game you make one purchase and enjoy the full experience at a very fair price. There are so many CGs There arent even this many on a lot of PSP and PSV games ! And the art is mesmerizing and absolutely beautiful . We like how BGM sounds uplifting and yet has a melancholic tone to it. Fits the game perfectly . The story itself is really unique and the city gives us Spirited Away vibes somehow The story is very well written and the flashbacks will leave you astonished . Character development is absolutely amazing and we like the fact that theres a dark side to all of them even the heroine . We love how satisfied we felt with the endings and yet felt a little void inside of us . Just as how the heroine would feel . This shows the writing skills of the plot . And we also like the feature with which we can update our Kanji knowledge . We only wished there were CVs too. We look forward to your next works Best Regards.

We admit that we were drawn to the plot, and decided to buy mike’s route — which was a bit weird for us, especially at some parts (goes along the whole ‘you’re our owner’ [because he’s a cat] plot thing, and it kinda made us uncomfortable?).. They also made a conflict in the story of the mc being connected to a shrine and her memories? But doesn’t really give a solution regarding it in the route… So it was kinda just forgotten about.. However, overall mike’s wasn’t anything TOO weird, and some parts even being cute. [spoilers] then we bought tsukumo’s. Not only did they use the exact same lines/parts from mike’s route (and we’re guessing the others), we were actually quite excited for this route but QUICKLY FURIOUS that we bought it! He KEEPS HER HOSTAGE IN HIS HOUSE, AND STARTS TO BECOME POSSESIVE OF HER! It really just made us dislike his character/ ruin the whole route. They try to play it off like he just "loves her so much!" but it’s obvious that he basically manipulates her into staying with him. In the end, he kinda just manipulates the mc into not going back to the human world — basically giving up the life that she had — and living in their world, just to be with him, because she wasn’t dead in the first place. And that’s really…. Messed up? Idk the fact that it was a big part of the plot — tsukumo revealing that he KNEW that she wasn’t dead, trapping her a room for like 3 days and then saying it was because he loves her made us start to regret that we even bought the route.
