Latest update loads upside down on our windows PC.
We were hoping with recent updates that this game would stop cheating, but alas, NO! Please fix this. We love Backgammon, but this is ridiculous!!
This used to be a great game. However, a couple of updates ago that all changed. Now the game cheats. If it needs one specific roll of the dice, it will roll what it needs. If you get too far ahead, it will roll itself doubles (as many as 5 or 6 in a row) while giving you an ace/two or the only available roll that will leave you exposed (and then, next roll the game will roll what it needs to put you on the bar). We’ve had this game for years but no longer play it as it is simply no longer fun. 3/28/17- Update. This latest version doesn’t seem to cheat like the last versions. We’ll need to play more to be sure. April 11, 2017 – Still cheats. Save your money. Don’t buy this game. 5/13/17 – we see the developer claims the game doesn’t cheat. Uh huh. Well, the game sure is "lucky" then. Example, rolling 4 doubles in a row after all the pieces have passed each other, on a fairly consistent basis. Yup, this game sure is "lucky." As we originally said, don’t waste your money. 6/8/2017 – Sadly nothing has changed. The game still cheats (or manipulates the way the dice rolls are used). We cannot recommend this game. 11/25/2019 – GAME STILL CHEATS ON ROLLS OF THE DICE. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS GAME. IF YOU DO, YOULL LOSE TWICE.
Every time we are ready to win, the game crashes. If there are 4 spaces for our piece to land on the opponent’s side, the dice does not give us the numbers needed; but if it’s our side and there is only one place for the computer to land on, it always rolls exactly.
Really like this game and play it often off line. The computer is easier to beat since the last upgrade but is still challenging.
Playing against the computer is great because you have very granular control over how well the computer plays. All the complaining about the dice is bs. Why would a company building a backgammon app waste time and effort creating a cheating game? We’ve not played against humans but you can get much better just by playing the computer.
The dice rolls or not random. We’ve played over 100 games and it seems that the App decides who a winner will be even before the match begins. It gives the "favored player" the exact rolls they need to hit their opponent. Don’t waste your money on this game. The programmers that made this game are bollucks.
Wish we had read the reviews. $5.99? Really? Graphics are pitiful. Options are pitiful. Online does not work. Cumbersome. Hands down worse app we have ever purchased. How do we get our money back?????
We think the game is a little clunky and the dice rolls take some time . The computer has an amazing amount of doubles. Like every other roll. This is ridiculous. Something that could not happen in real life . We wish we could get our money back.
We’ve kept track and in 20 games it rolled exactly what it needed 100 percent of the time off the bar and we never did. It is statistically impossible for us to fail and it to succeed consecutively like that. We are talking billion to one odds of each die being perfect for the situation. Don’t waste your time nor money.
This game should not be purchased until the programmer fixes the bug that allows resigning to prevent gammons. It is frustrating to play for a gammon only to have the opponent resign and only lose what is on the cube. Do not patronize until they fix this bug.
The color scheme is tough to stare at. Also the chips don’t stand out. Stopped playing solely due to that.
This app does not work on our iPad mini. We purchased the premium version and every time we try to play we either get refused or disconnected from the server. We have written to iTunes support and ask them for a refund.
Since the upgrade, the dice are broken. In the last 12 matches, we tracked our opponents and they rolled 70% doubles. Somebody has figured out how to beat the system.
Like your game,,,but somethings need to be changed,,,i put two men on the top of the board,,,and he or she is going to be backgammoned so all they do is let the time run out and you dont get the backgammon points,,as soon as they see they are going to be gammoned or back gammoned they time out .. Thats not right… Also the crawford rule is a good one but sometimes people double us when they are supposed to and if we dont take it we lose,happened 2 times,,,hope you correct this problem with the timed out people,,i had a gut double us to 8 points 2 different times and all we got was 3 because he timed out,thank you charlie it just happened again you need to address this asap.. Just was playing a game man doubled us to 4 was about to be gammoned and desided to time out so he would only lose 2 points and the game.. Happens all the time.. Thats why you have percentage of games completed.. So it shows all who do this . Please fix this,as it took 3 weeks to get answer. From last complaint….. No more wish lists .. Dice rolls are not random as advertised . It’s the only reason we purchased the game. We’ve played thousands of online matches and there’s no way it’s random . Just because you have a higher ELO doesn’t mean you roll doubles left and right and pull off the most ridiculous comebacks that mathematically impossible . It’s not just a few occasions but over 40. So please stop advertising the random dice rolls . It’s absolutely not.
Terrible. Game play is so bad it makes you want to kill yourself. Slow. Annoying to play. And full of stupid bugs, like no way to not accept another game without being penalized. TOTAL GARBAGE!
If you are considering this app for playing against the computer as we did, don’t wast your money. The computer is an amateur who makes stupid moves leaving points exposed. It may be worth while for online play, but that’s not what we bought it for.
Great interface. Very good AI play. Connectivity issues prohibit five star ratings. Online play is unstable. Please fix connection problems and problems staying connected. Specifically, can’t connect to friends sometimes, even though they are willing and able. Also, Online games sometime abort with no warning (says opponent forfeited on both ends). Overall best backgammon game we’ve tried, but connection issues need to be fixed for online play. Please consider improvements for online play. Fix that and get five stars easy! Acey-Deucy mode would be great, too!
If the game asks you for a double before it has taken its first roll, what is one to think. This game ALLOWS you to win and determines the outcome before your first roll. Not worth the time to play because, skill, planning, and strategy are not factors. And without out at least that, what’s the point. Save your time and money.
Crashes after about 10 seconds every time. Unusable. :-( On new iPad.
We have loved this game for its simplicity and ease of use. It’s one of the few that allows you to actually move the pieces. But with this new release, they got cutesy and have the pieces kind of bounce to where you move it. Which makes each move take longer. We also found times when moves we didn’t make get played and we can’t undo it. We’re not one who thinks it cheats because we win too often – in fact most of the time. But please take it back to the simple move and get rid of the bouncy bouncy.
This app has the worst interface we have ever encountered on any app. Our daughter and we loaded it onto our phones and tried for an hour to set it up. A very frustrating experience! We want our money back!

Unable to deactivate live roll. Button to turn it is greyed out. New version unusable. Too bad any way to change this???
Loved the free version and upgraded to paid one. We played 1 game at expert level and now it seems possessed. Computer is challenging us to "double" before it has moved even once. Also computer has mind boggling "luck" when rolling. If you buy it DO NOT play expert.
Could be fun. It is so obvious when the dice are controlled. Named computer ‘Cheeta’..
We loved the free version and played it for MANY hours. On Dec 22 (or so) an update came out that caused the game to crash every time the human player wins (when playing human vs computer). No update was forthcoming despite considerable negative comments about the crashing. On Dec 27 a paid version appears ($2.99). We figured the outfit making the game is probably concentrating on the $$$ version. Reluctantly, we bought the game. Same problem. Very disappointing. Needless to say we won’t be buying anything else from this company. BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK!
