We play this game every day and love it but, since the update we have to flip our iPad around since landscape only works one way! Very annoying! Please, it should a simple fix.
Not sure what happen this was a great app, however recently loading upside down and Un fixable. This app no matter what does not appear in settings, again was a great game.
The only way to beat COMPUTER EASY is NOT TO PLAY.
This game has the WORST RNG and does not play fair against the AI. Doubles are at a minimum 4-1. The developers need to learn what a fair RNG is. Pass on this crap!
We love this app but after updating we really feel the computer opponent has changed. We used to be evenly matched but now it just gets whatever roll it needs and our rolls are usually the worst case scenario. A lot less enjoyable.
Great game but ever since we got a new iPhone last year and reinstalled everything fresh, just about every time we play Im forced to restore our purchase to the premium version. Very frustrating. Contacted support and heard nothing.
Interface is good. Periodically good games. However it gets in a cycle of repeatedly giving you the same dice roll and extremely one sided when playing against the AI. Causes more frustration rather than enjoyment of the game. Time to find another version.
We have owned this game for YEARS!! We used to be in the + in winnings. We dont know where those went because an update cleared everything we had. We always have to buy it again to remove the ads. And looking at the reviews from 4 years ago, we are experiencing the same kind of cheating from the random roll site that others have complained about. This has been our favorite game of backgammon, no need to find another one, but Im going to be deleting it soon because we come to play for relaxation, but instead we get angry because we cant play because the rolls arent fair. Dont tell us that its only in our head, because Im finally frustrated enough to review this game. Please fix this!
This particular game is rigged in favor of the computer. There are much better backgammon games that do not CHEAT.
The computer doubles with no justification. In an very obvious situation it will double down and when we double back it submits the game. Pls fix.
This game is one big cheat!!!! We heard all the explanation of statistics and its all nonsense. Never ever in a real game do you get the kind of roles the computer gets to get out of every jam nor do you ever in a real game make the moves that the computer makes without knowing exactly what your opponent is going to roll in the next move. Please dont give us any nonsense about statistics. We majored in math and know all about statistics and this defies all odds.
This is a fun game for anyone whose favorite part of Backgammon is sitting on the bar without being able to roll back in.
We paid for premium upgrade and no ads years ago! After this latest upgrade we are getting ads between games. We will not pay for ads twice! We will look for new game to play if this isnt fixed soon! Shameful way to treat your long time users!
We’ve played this game for years and loved it. The recent upgrade is horrible. The game consistently freezes and requires a reboot to continue playing. The look and feel of the game has changed for the worse. Its time to delete it and search for a new backgammon game. Sooooo disappointing!
We were tricked into clicking on add removal. Buyer beware. We did have to go to Apple to get our refund.

This is a recent development and is very, very annoying and offensive. The crap there ultra christian ads are shoving down our throats is just… Crap!
We played this game for years. Now is not longer possible to play online against someone else. Thank you.
It basically cheats even on the easy level. Almost never win the first roll, at most ten percent. If you ever expose yourself computer will always get the one improbable roll that lets it land on you. Then you will get doubles for the one position you cant land on.
This App is an absolute joke. It is a total ripoff. Dont waste your time.

How can we get back to the old version, which we had purchased and which didnt have ads? And had all the features you want us to pay for again? Id like a downgrade please.
New update has a glitch in the expert mode. When using the doubling cube and offering to double when the computer has no chance of winning it will except the double. Then it will offer a double on the next turn in return. When offering a double by the player one more time the computer refuses.
The board seems smaller. We lost our connection to Apple Game Center. We lost our upgrade to premium and now see political ads. Game screams the word DEFEAT when you lose. Omething about the new design seems off. Going to look for a replacement game for this app.
The dice roll too slowly, the chips are hard to move to the correct position, basically dropping the app because its too slow.
We’ve had this app for years and paid for the premium version to remove ads. Today, after improvements the entire look of the board changed, our settings wont restore, the dice are slow and cant be adjusted under settings, the undo button is missing, and they removed the option to play online with others. Save your money and look for another app. There are gazillion others to choose from. Oh, and the ad blocker price changed fro $3.99 to $5.99!
This used to be the best online network Backgammon game, but now they took its best feature out. The computer AI is horrible, so playing against the computer is not fun. No more net play… No more game. After countless years we are deleting this from our iPhone:(

Love this version but so many issues! It keeps freezing on us in the middle of a game/tourney. Would love to buy full version but until this gets fixed… No way! VERY frustrating… It is the only app of ours that does this.
We’ve had this game for several years, but we’re about to delete it. The game’s fine. We play against the computer offline. As in – no internet connection. NO INTERNET CONNECTION. The most recent upgrade requires that we log in to play off line. How am we supposed to do that with No Internet Connection? You get our point. If we can’t open the game when we want to use it – at lunch at work, then there’s no point in having it.
How come when we need to go back and computer has 4 openings we only get the dice for closed places!! But when computer is out and we have one opening computer gets the exact dices to scape and beat us?? We’re surprised with level 2.3 and higher which sounds like cheating to us. Btw we like level 2.2 and this is what we always play.
Just wish the computer was smarter. On beginner the rolls almost always favor the player, but anything above that and the rolls always favor the computer.
If in this app, playing against the computer is fixed ? Do you think playing with other players it not fixed? All rolls are fixed. People who are playing the real game immediately know that. Why we play? Free? Not really thats how money is made, more clicks, more players, more money. This game cheats more than any other we have played.
Gold Backgammon Pro? The current American Executive apparently has ushered in a fashion for chaos and Trumpery to a psychopathic extreme and that infestation is manifest in you application! The ideological theory and practice of Backgammon has a noble cause in the analysis of mathematical probability, not some some idiotic and immoral infatuation with deceit and unabashed luck! Therefore your preference in juicing, or should we say ginning up the Computerized Player to roll excessively disproportionate Doubles, rolling obligatory doubles for itself on the first if not second roll, Slash & Burn Antics, Luck Boxes @17 & 35 to 1, Slow Rolling Priming Games, disproportionate Races to Bear- Off, at a time when the Human player fans on a 1 Point board, rolls Reverse 17 to 1 Shots when caught in a ludicrous Back-game, or habitually rolls the weakest Opening first move! These defects are an obvious & absolute affront to the principle of Probability verses Possibility, wherein the latter is implicitly offensive to jurisprudence! This fact is precisely why it’s illegal to Gamble in New York but Legal to play Games like both Chess & Backgammon for money, because the stronger player is a correspondingly strong favorite to win. Hence these are not games of chance! It is possible that we could win the Lottery tomorrow, but it’s not ‘probable’! Thus under the circumstances mentioned above it’s also repugnant that you profess to calculate Elo Ratings when your program software can’t simulate an honest Random Roll for itself or the human player. Hence it is again damning that you claim to know the averages for single and consecutive Doubles, but you obviously lack the data from programs like the decade old Jelly Fish or Sconyer’s which are helpful to Players in evaluating subtle Cube Action which is dependent on mathematically rational Average Rolls! For the nonce we may continue to use this App as a workout exercise, but we implore you to consider; As a commercial Application this program may be picked up by any manner of students from novice to pro. Ergo for the Expert or Pro this is a big humorous joke, but for the Beginner or Novice this is both an invitation to corrupted and immoral thinking. As the saying goes, absolute corruption corrupts absolutely. You may still try insisting that playing for Luck is fun, but as the saying goes; If you paint the devil on the wall he will appear! At long last, it is aggravating that we should be the one to explain these fact to because obviously you have no clue mention of paying us for what you as yet haven’t comprehended!
It is fun, but we wouldn’t recommend it to a learning player because it will encourage a vastly over cautious strategy of play. One of the fun aspects of backgammon is understanding the odds and knowing what risks to take. Backgammon Gold punishes risk taking. It is beatable because it plays so foolishly, but it is nowhere near the neighborhood of honest backgammon. Oh btw, their website claims the game is not rigged, which is tempting to believe, but as a statistician, after having played hundreds of games we can testify that it is difinitely rigged. "Computer expert" rolls doubles at a rate approximately quintuple the odds. The rigged rolls become predictable, particularly after accepting a double. We can’t imagine why a programmer of games would do this, but there ya go.
This works great on the easy level but It seems as though the higher the level, the better the roles for the computer. If you play at a harder level, it maintains the strategy but gets all the breaks. No fun. No fun at all.
The button to invite friends doesnt work. As that was the whole reason why we downloaded this app, Im not happy.
Finally got tired enough of the intrusive ads and paid the $1.99 to get rid of them only to discover that the fee only covered one device. Dirty pool, guys. Unfair, greedy, and awful! Same on you!
If you are playing off line, the House almost always wins (98% of the time). The house die are rigged against you. The millisecond you leave your checker unprotected you are knocked out and can not get back in. Totally rigged.
We purchased this App for $4.99 in 2015 and have not played in quite some time. We went to play recently and now they want an additional $5.99, to purchase the app a second time, that’s a total of $10.98. We tried contacting the company through game support and the web site. It just goes around and around and leads us back to where we started. We work hard for our money as we’re sure you do as well, we just want a relaxing game to play. It just isn’t right, we paid for it and am unable to contact anyone there. We will now need to contact Apple as this game appears under our in-ap purchases. This company has no moral compass. Bottom line, buyer beware.
Is there a backgammon app that does not cheat? This one is really obvious about it. It consistently rolls the right numbers, while our rolls consistently are bad numbers. Most of our doubles are to locations blocked, and if we get all of our pieces in position to move off the board, the computer invariably gets several high doubles while we get mostly low numbers. This way beyond chance when we can be predicted. The great majority of time the computers roll and moves can be predicted. Basically, this developer can pontificate all he/she wants to, but this app gives every appearance of cheating.
Program which is far away from being fully developed, cheats, etc, waste of time.
Played this games hundreds of times and it’s super rigged. But hey, it’s just a game.
We cannot tell you how many times the computer magically gets multiple doubles in a row to win the game when all odds would normally be against that happening. It has taken the fun out of it for us. We just picked a new backgammon game to try which will hopefully seem more realistic.
A review from a high ranked player: At level 4, this is the most cheating Backgammon game there is. Don’t ever let yourself get knocked out. Average rolls for the game to get back in: 1.5. Average rolls needed for you to get back in: 5.5. If the computer has only 2 or 3 points blocked, those are the rolls you’ll get over and over again. If you have 5 points blocked, the computer will find the open spot in one or two rolls. In one game, the computer got exactly the only two-die roll needed to escape and hit so often, we calculated the odds at over 10,000 to one. We play this only to ridicule it. We would call out 6 and 4 almost every time that was the only roll that would win for the computer. Doubles when behind, immediately followed by multiple doubles.
The review by the person who said that reviews saying it cheats on rolls said that those who complain dont know probability and statistics. That person obviously doesnt know probability and statistics. It almost always gets just the roll it needs when it needs it. We guess its easier to program favorable rolls than it is to program a good AI.
Out $10. App now crashes every other tournament. Contacted but no response.
Several bugs reported to the developers several times and no response in months. The graphics break sometimes so you cant see the board and end up quitting which loses scores. 8 months and no updates. Disappointing. Additionally, the English of the game is very poor. Wrong sentences and word choices which possibly indicates the language hasnt been proofread by a native speaker.
