Twice while playing, we sent the opponent to the bar and they were able to move their other pieces and eventually off the board.
This AI cant even win by cheating! So you get blotted, 6 out 10 times you roll to get back on the board is either double 6s, doubles that are blocked or just plain blocked out. Youre getting ahead and the AI will roll doubles in its favor to get all dice home. Ive seen the AI get doubles 4/7 rolls. You used to be able to adjust the aggression or passiveness of the AI. That was the only way to loose fairly. The only reason we keep playing is because in the long run you get more wins than losses. We would prefer to loose games because we deserve to loose them. TIP. You can leave stones open in home with opponent on the bar and most of his rolls will not hit you.
Game plays well, but after paying for the game the ads comes after every other turn. Some ads are so glitchy that you have to exit the game to close them even after waiting several minutes.
The new update changed the game and ruin this app for us.
Played for a long time with no issues. Updated last week and now scoring doesnt work properly and game freezes randomly. Still gets 3 stars for lack of ads! Please fix this great game.
Changing the settings made a big difference for us, occasionally we feel the computer manipulates the dice in its favor but then it could be said it favors us. Either way we enjoy the game best one out there for acey duecy which is what we enjoy.
We would prefer no running time clock when hurry mode is off.
We like the variety of games, we would like it better if on the 2 player mode we could play with our roommate.
We love Acey Deucy. This game follows the rules better than another app Ive used. However, it is very frustrating that the games are set to impact the outcome. At the very ens, especially, perfect rolls fall EVERY TIME to allow the opponent to win. We have no problem with losing, but dont manipulate the roll of the dice. Let us have a fair game.
Believe all the criticism about statistically improbable AI rolls. The only true way to get a decent and fair AI challenger is to have the user input the computers rolls using real dice. Im all for a challenge, but when each of our pieces that are exposed are pretty much hit instantly, well whats the point. The creators can swear up and down that a third party generates the rolls, but see for yourself.
Ill play several games, play a different game and return and it starts all over again – we dont understand why it wont let us play on till someone wins 15 games. We enjoy playing but would like to continue, instead of starting all over again.
This game bites. The dice are fixed and theres no doubling cube. Like something a high school student did for a project.
Whoever wrote the program for Acey Deucy doesnt really understand long strategy. The computer plays it like its a backgammon game. Theres no sense of building a board Creating a block no planning the computer stupidly moves. Its men across-the-board, without any chance of covering them up. And it seems no matter the circumstances, it automatically takes double sixes no matter what the board looks like. So this game is not challenging at all. We have tried to find other players, but the app shuts down every time we click the find button. Our father is 97 years old and is still a master at this game. But we wouldnt download it for him because playing the computer would be a waste of his time. We were hoping to play him online, but the app doesnt allow for it. Please advise how to fix this.
Paid for the app and still getting the ads. What is that all about.
Game is difficult to play on anything smaller than a tablet, touch is off. If you dont have Im Done enabled, the computer automatically takes its turn and 8 out of 10 times your last move will have been wrong, because touch is off (needs to be recalibrated or something), and there is no undo once computer takes its turn. The game also cheats, a lot. It always rolls what it needs, especially at the end. It will roll doubles and doubles. There are much better backgammon out there.
They dont show days totals. They dont give you the hit but they take the hit every time. They have God dice all the time. This joke is not even something we would call backgammon.
Once it is CPUs turn the dices never got rolled by random ;).
Like many other online computer dice games this one suddenly is able to get perfect rolls at the end of the game.
A six year old could write a better program, and probably achieve random rolls, which this game Does Not Have Random Rolls. The AI will always get the perfect rolls to knock you off the board, and will Always roll 2 or 3 sets of doubles to get his pieces home to start rounding off. Dont down load.
We love Acey-Deucy but this app is rigged in favor of the AI. The only thing random about this app is your rolls of the dice. The AI in this app will ALWAYS roll exactly what it needs to roll EVERY time. If the AI needs an ace- deuce it rolls it, if it needs a very specific roll of the dice it rolls it. Good luck trying to win a game of backgammon.
We got this app to try to play with a friend in Italy (Im in New York), but theres too much broken with this game to even get started at least on iPad with iOS 15.1.1. Sign-in hangs. Pressing the invite code generation button yields no UI erect beyond the buttons own animation. So, too, with the rest of the buttons on the multiplayer > online screen except the Back button.
Its fast way to kill time if you are bored or waiting in line for something. Enjoying it every day.
Been enjoying this game for about a year. Then yesterday it froze and we could do nothing so we deleted and reinstalled. It works well now.
We have been enjoying this game for some time, and agree with other reviewers that if anything, the game was sometimes too easy and accepted doubling when they shouldnt have done so. However, they just posted an update about a week ago, and have now gone too far the other way…the computer is now having perfect rolls time after time (that defy all odds) and multiple double rolls such that the randomness is gone. Please adjust to make it more middle of the road, otherwise we will be deleting and looking for an alternate.
We have loved this game. We especially like how the dice roll.themselves without having to click on them.we also think it's more fair (less"fixed") than other games. The changes made yesterday made it so our game freezes when it opens. We're thinking this is a temporary bug and we will check back to see if it was fixed.
Love this game- play backgammon and acey-deucey every day. However latest update we cant play- rolls the dice to see who goes first then the dice disappear and game freezes.
This app has stopped working on both our iPhone and iPad.
Last update broke game on iPad Air Pro Gen 3 using iOS 14.4. Uninstalled and reinstalled and it got worse. No dice to roll. Please fix.
It is enjoyable! We have been playing since 1970s. Fun fun fun.
It keeps track of just one game at a time and and doesnt keep record of gammons or backgammons.
Good version of aces duecey. Only wish we could play someone on line.
We love this AP. Been using it for three years. Many of those who are complaining are obviously not utilizing the options. You can play the Rush Mode for faster games from 4 to 7 seconds, you can increase the AI options to be more or less aggressive, and you can opt out of ads for a low cost. Hey, its a free AP, what do you expect? There are more options regarding how and with whom you play, but we have not used all yet, so cant comment on those options. We just play with AI. And we like the daily game which has four different versions just for variety and, if nothing else, we do those every day. Also, its a plus to have variable speeds so newbies can learn without timing restrictions. The best part for us is that we can be assured that the AI is not making illegal moves and we can concentrate on our own game which is harder when you have to be policing your opponent so they dont cheat. And newbies learn faster by being not allowed to make illegal moves. They have to figure out why their move is blocked. So, if you hate this AP, stop using it. We love it.

Fun but little hard to grasp when you first start playing.
We dont want to win OR lose because of rigged games; we just want a fair game.
The rolls of the dice are predictable when bearing off. AI is too conservative and predictable.
Ive never rated an app before… Thats how badly rigged this app is. No matter how close you are to winning the dice will magically roll the perfect number for the computer to come back and beat you. This app doesnt even pretend to make it a fair match.
We are an expert self proclaimed anyhow backgammon player. The AI programmer either doesnt know how to play the game properly or far more likely has rigged the dice against itself, yes thats right the dice are rigged in your favor. We have played dozens of games and tournaments in this app to give it the benefit of the doubt, however the AI didnt win even one tournament. We had to try to lose and still couldnt. The only reasoning behind this is to trick the user into thinking its a good app since he the player is winning a lot and will be forced to view maximum amounts of ads. Pitiful foreign non-American app.
What a disaster and waste of time. Spent an hour getting our sister to download so we could play, but theres NO WAY to plat together. This is utterly useless. AVOID unless you want to play alone.
The app is not doing multiplayer at all it doesnt work.
Bush league programming. The dice disappeared after several game, then the game pieces disappeared as well. Try again.
We like the game but if you leave a piece open odds are high that the computer always gets exactly the roll needed to bump you. Hmmm. Also, the freezes and crashes from time to time.
We had high hopes for this game. We learned a backgammon variant from some Jordanian friends and this game is the only one we found that includes this variation, under the name of Plakoto/Tapa. We have not played standard backgammon so this review applies only to that variation, but we suspect we would find the same issues in all games First of all, we strongly suspect the game uses loaded dice. This game begins with two checkers on the 24 point and all the other checkers in hand but presumed to be also on the 24 point. Therefore you almost always start with a number of blots on the 18 through 23 points. We have played hundreds of games and quite often find our virtual opponent rolling big doubles, allowing him to hit our checkers early. In this variation, getting hit deep in your starting territory is a huge disadvantage and almost certainly results in a loss unless you can do the same to your opponent. The thing is, in these hundreds of games, we have NEVER ROLLED LARGE DOUBLES early in the game. Not once. In addition, we have found that if we leave a blot, our opponent is almost guaranteed to hit its even if it requires rolling eleven or doubles. This is all highly suspect. Second, we think it has the scoring wrong. On your turn, you have the option of doubling, rolling the dice, or surrendering. The way we learned backgammon, if a player offers to surrender, the other player can either accept and win at the current value of the doubling cube, or decline and play on in hopes of making a gammon or backgammon. We believe the scoring for a surrender should be the same as if you had declined a double; however, if we surrender before we start bearing off, the game counts it as a loss at twice the current value, as if we had lost with a gammon. A third issue: we usually win matches anyway, despite having no background or expertise. We think thats a good sign that the AI, as they ostentatiously call it, is a pretty lousy player.
The game always cheats to win. Do not download this app. Find something else.

We love backgammon however this game does give the better rolls to the computer. Rolling doubles, higher & lower #'s when needed, making it frustrating, however we have not found a better one that doesn't cheat. :(.
Has everything but speed which makes really annoying for someone like us who has played the game for a long time.
Slow….and we hate being forced to make one more move just to tell the game that we're through with our move.
