We really enjoy this game but after 4-5 paying, the games freezes in the middle of the game. The computer/1player mode. Has anyone had the problem? If so how did you fix it.
We love playing backgammon we have our own board at home so w/ it on hear we can play anywhere we go.
Our iPad crashed, so we had to re-download from the App Store. We thought the game had completely changed, until we saw the picture showing Options. Duh, using options, we were able to re-configure it using our old settings. This is the best backgammon of all of them. Very simple to use.
No pieces to knock off board. Really great way to play Backgammon.
Good for free app but dont like the constant get other games.
We have tried all of the Backgammon apps, and this is truly the real deal! The others cannot compare to this app! Thank you.

Like the game but this was supposed to be ad free and there are too many ads between games to make it enjoyable.
However, in pursuit of the one closest to perfection. While we think this one didn't cheat, the COMMERCIALS became out of control!! Watch at least one BEFORE you can even play! Bad Form.
You should change your algarhythm to not allow either team to have quad die after they have passed each other on the board. It is skewed toward the house and its frustrating.
We play often against our wife and sometimes against the computer. Overall gameplay is good, but when we press undo too many times it will actually undo the roll of the dice, making the player roll again. That should not happen.
Love the game but we keep having to delete and reinstall because we come back to a previous game and it is frozen. Also, would love to have a concede button for when it's obvious you will lose the game instead of having to roll off the final pieces. Thanks.
We like the game other than it often doesnt seem very random. We play in hard mode and there are way too many doubles.

This is still the best app for backgammon that Ive found. That being said, we usually play against the computer. While the game professes random rolls of the die, be prepared to lose first play rolls most games. And its remarkable how the computer nearly always gets exactly the roll it needs to bear off and win. Too, if the computer challenges you, know that you might as well concede the game because your efforts to thwart a loss are oftentimes useless. Not impossible to win against the computer, just a lack of fairness. The app used to provide stats on how many doubles each rolls and other such data but that disappeared a while back. Im assuming its because the lack of randomness was all too evident. But we have no one to play with other than the computer, so thats where we are in life. We still enjoy playing from time to time so thats why the 4 stars.
Dont like new board (color nor style).
We have had this app for a long time and loved it we paid for ad free and it was great till a free weeks ago. Now Im getting bombarded and cant even play the game anymore. Very disappointing.
The app gets the first roll 90% of the time. It is also apparent that at a certain point you know the app will win. But it is freealso you can avoid ads by using a VPN.
Skip the adds by turning off Wi-Fi or put in airplane mode. The computer is programmed to win. Four doubles in a row happened several times. You can be way ahead and the computer will catch up. Its still fun to play, but the computer will win most of the time.
Not ring able to silence the phone for this app significantly limits our use. Also, the app sometimes dose not not let us press the tiles, causing us to have to turn off the phone and then restart. This does. It always does not work and we may have to try several times. Our rating would be a 5 if this problem were solved.
Too many ads but the worst part is you cant X out of the ad. Ive closed and opened and ads still appear. Very frustrating.
Some ads are just too long and onerous in that you have to stay there the full minute, maybe minute and a half without a way to dismiss them. Uninstalling.
Playing against the computer isnt fare Ive had games where the computer has rolled three and four doubles in a row impossible.
There are a few positives with this backgammon game in comparing with Lite Games Backgammon. Its very frustrating to see how many doubles the computer gives itself especially during bearing off.
We tried the harder level and it just cheats constantly given doubles to the computer opponent and or coincidentally rolling the exact number to kick your pieces back.
When playing against the computer you need to able to use real dice and enter the results. This games algorithm for rolling the dice is obviously biased.
If you only play the computer as we do, the game cheats. Amazing how the computer roll of the dice always come up with the number needed to knock you off or win the game with amazing double roll of the dice. Not any different than playing poker in Vegas. The house will always win. Otherwise a fun game.
Appears to cheat. Uncanny ability to roll double 6s when bearing off. Now sounds are missing.
When playing the computer on hard, the computer rolls are definitely rigged. Wrote the developer and was told the rolls are completely at random, which is laughable. That being said, we just play and when the computer rolls get completely ridiculous (which is often) we just start another game.
We enjoy backgammon but the dice rolls are obviously rigged for the computer. It is now a challenge to see if we can predict the rolls.

Difficult level seems to be achieved by favoring dice rolls outcome rather than algorithm ability to outsmart the opponent. Disappointed.
It is a fun game, but when you play the medium difficulty, it makes sure that it rolls the correct number to send you to the bar. If you send it to the bar, it will make sure that you get sent in return and cant ret a roll to get off. It gives itself more doubles and bigger numbers than you get.
Nice interface smooth play but the dice are not truly random. Ive played enough games to see that the dice rolls are not normally distributed. Skip this version of the game, it cheats.
You want to make this fair??? Then trade rolls after a game win. The puter rolls double like crazy when it wants to win. Its actually laughable. We play on HARD setting and often win double because your program doesnt know when it is best to give. Anyhow whenever it doubles it like gets excited to win out. Or some games it just rolls doubles over and then after a few over again, much more often than it would usually give us. Its a decent game. Some basic backgammon strategy yet it has some basic tendencies and when it decidedly wants to win then the game just rolls doubles. Kind of lame.
If you could set the dice to a truly random roll that would be wonderful. And while youre at it, please make it so this game can play WITHOUT sound! Our sound is MUTED and still it plays through VERY LOUD.
The number of times the computer happens to get the exact required role to wipe out any lone pieces can not be explained by luck. While it is hard to write a computer player to be competitive, making the game harder by changing dice rolls changes the nature of the game and makes leaving any lone pieces no longer a calculated risk, but an almost certain lose.

Keeps crashing & freezing about mid or towards end of game , specially if you have to leave it sit alone for a bit ( restroom break or shorter ).
Ive used this one for years. Now when ads run the format becomes smaller and much harder to play. We close the ap, open it again and the same ad starts over. Decided just to look for a new ap.
This game is very biased toward the computer when playing the hard level, one person. It can get very frustrating. On the plus side, for a free app it doesnt have a lot of ads.
Im playing on the medium setting. When rolling to see who goes first the computer wins 95% of the time or better. And as other people have said the computer sure seems to get a lot of doubles, just when it needs them. Anyway, its not bad game as a time filler just dont expect to go first and be prepared for the onslaught of doubles.
Even though we paid for the upgrade to ad-free, we still have to deal w ads at the bottom of the screen. We generally otherwise like the gameplay. We dont play against the computer because we agree with the not-random comments. Best way around Ive found is to play two player against yourself and play both turns as you would to win each. It still gives more doubles to the underdog, but doesnt seem as bad. We would give a 4, if not for the stupid ads.
Game is fun and hen it works. There are times when we cannot finish a game. When we come back to it, the game will not work. Anyone else have this going on.
