Best game we’ve played on iOS in a long time.

This game is fun in a chaotic way. Its a game that you can pick up for just a few minutes or you can play hours on end. You can feel how much fun the developers had when they were making the game because of the way they designed each levels with all the hidden gems and interactive objects (cor just chopping down trees for fun). The weapons are super fun in the game and all you have to do is to smash your buttons and destroy the enemies. This game is not super difficult as long as you watch your health from time to time. There is also healing station on every level. You can make the game more difficult by baiting all enemies to you at once. Its not a cheap game at 8.99 but personally we find it very enjoyable.

Hello, we have found this weird bug. On our second and third play throughs of the game, the giant red button for the master classes never appears. Is this a problem anyone else is having or is there a work around?

It could be a really good game. But the control pad has really bad handling, the way to interactive with heath fountain and enter rage mode or whatever is just plain bad. Ruins it. THERE ISNT EVEN A PAUSE BUTTON?

Like everyone else we absolutely have to agree on the controls issue. They are fairly awkward and unresponsive a lot of the time. We also have to agree that it should be 30% of earnings to keep going or start off. Between the fact that everything is super small, and the rough controls, it is just way too easy to die and lose a big chunk of loot. Decent start but needs work. Especially because as is the game is way overpriced.

Not really made for a phone. Text is too small. Controls are ok, but hard to see what’s happening. Still have no idea what the goal is. Just keep getting surrounded and killed after a while, sent back and have some "money" taken. Rinse and repeat.

We decided to get Barbearian a few days ago. Its an awesome game to play and it addicts you. We also love the fact that you get to build your own army. Yes, its hard. But so far we’ve been able to beat everything, mostly we just have to go back to old levels and get more soldiers or earn enough money to buy more stuff. Every level has new enemies that you have to choose a new strategy for. You also get tons of abilities and weapons. So far we’ve played about five hours in, and we can contradict some peoples reviews. The guy who said the thumb holds are tiny must have massive thumbs because the hand holds are made more for an adult man than a little girl. Someone said that it costs too much when you die, yes its annoying but he only takes 1/3 of your money, which is easy to recover from. To recover health it does cost money, but its cheap. Overall we rate Barbearian 5 stars. It was worth $9.

This game is a serious fast-pace mayhem, and beautifully done. Loved every bit of it.

This game is great we were kinda hesitant in the price tag but went ahead and bought it and Im having a great time our only complaint is the joystick is way too small for us if possible could u make an option to increase the size of the joy stick…. Thank you.

The Game is great we love it!! But like we have an iphone X max the corner of the screen are gone an we cant play it well… Make it competitive with the iphone x pleasee!

This game is fantastic, we dont really particularly care much for touch controls and/or mobile gaming but this game has us hooked. So much fun on iPad with a controller.

This game would be simply amazing, but the move pad is non responsive, inaccurate, and annoying. Would be 5* with good controls.

It’s on the way but we remember the price being high and for us to say it’s worth it is for the controls to get a little more polish. Feels a little clunky to move and with combat. Otherwise so far it’s pretty good. We like supporting devs we only want to be sure the the price is fair for both.

No pause buttons, the movement circle is too small, which makes for relatively lame deaths, the character feels rigid as well when it comes to attacking and youre surrounded by mobs, right now we really dont think this is worth 9 dollars.

We regret paying $8.99 for this crap. Inconsistency difficulty levels. Fix them.

We love the premise and the aesthetics of this game. Overall, its fun and offers plenty of variety, with a new challenge in each level. But we really dont like how our characters movement is so slow and imprecise. Many times we’ve died because our character simply ignored our command to dodge. Maybe this was intentional to increase the difficulty, but it makes the combat less fun than in many action RPGs. Maybe its because of lag on our iPhone 6.

Figures are too small. Our eyes hurts after play 20 minutes on iPhone X.

Great game. We just wanted action and that’s what we got. We love that there is MFi support, but we also wish there was an ATV version as well.

There should definitely be a part two to this game, its amazing not to have an entire series of sorta for the game. We really enjoyed it and its one of our favorite all time games even from console and pc.

What a great game!! Best action game on iOS now!

It is a nice and well made game it is just boring. There is nothing that made us want to keep progressing. The upgrades feel unimportant.

Enjoying a lot, but the game keeps crashing on us. 5 stars if this gets fixed. _____________________ Edit: Update fixed crash problem. Thanks, devs!

The game is amazing. The animation to the battle. We just wish thered be a way to save it Incase you go to a new phone or device. We havent seen one but we hope they implement one.

Very rarely we play an iOS game from start to finish, this is one is them. Very well made.

Overall, we think this game is worth the $9 if you are up for the challenge and actually incorporate strategy into playing the game. Its not just going head on and defeating all the enemies so easily. Many YouTube videos we have watched on this game, have players going straight into the horde of enemies/bosses and die. This is a result of not being aware of how the mini-bosses attacks or not managing their health. If you think the non-boss enemies dont do much and the beginning is getting boring because it seems easy, KEEP PLAYING the game. Eventually it did get harder and we had fun learning how to beat these tough levels. The end of chapter bosses may seem hard at first, but once you learn how to approach the boss, it will be easier. There ARE Easter eggs that WILL get you to complete 100% of the game, so try exploring everywhere!!! PS: we were wondering if we could upload gameplay, we didnt see anything, but Im just making sure. Thanks!

The game is overall amazing. We hope you keep working on it to fix the small bugs. We dont care if anyone says its not worth 9 dollars, because for players who like games where you can slash your way through boards on monsters would love this game. It is one of our favorite fast pace games that is single player. We would love to see a multiplayer where you and another fight in an survival mode. The only problem is when we are playing a level or stage it makes us leave and we have to renter the game again, but not that bad of a bug. GREAT GAME.

This is an awesome game but there is no pause button so when im in the middle of a level we cant just pause to get up and go do something we have to either let it sit if there are no enemies or finish the level.

Finally this amazing developer built a game that feels like a console game and not a solitaire stupid game. Well done (standing and clapping)

Great game, but Im stuck at 94% completion and there is no way to figure out what we missed. Frustrating.

Fun for the 1st couple of days but repetitive. No storyline to pull you in, so by the 3rd day we completely forgot we had the game. For these reasons, $8.99 is way overpriced. Should probably be around $2.99 when comparing to other games in the AppStore.

They need to add more stuff the combat. Its really bearbones and dull. But all jokes aside its needs more.

Not even 30 minutes into the game and we’ve hit a breaking point. We try to run a level, die, lose all the level progress, and a huge chunk of what we earned from the level. This is really bad game design and promotes pointless grinding for items that really make no difference. The game is really pretty but that doesnt give reason to the large price tag. Really upset with this game, lots of missed potential.

Ok there is a definite need for revive potions to use in game because when you get the the 3rd map on each of the trials its incredibly frustrating to die and have to start all the way over especially after losing 30% of your total earnings not to mention the randomization of the map and being forced to leave the map and continue before youve rescued the villager we like this game a lot but being forced into the next level and having to start over after dying are the most annoying and rage inducing parts of this game and it makes us not really want to play it anymore we hope this review is helpful but for the love of all that is holy either add a revive potion or dont start all the way over after dying.

To re-iterate what others have mentioned the controls are horrendous and one would expect more detail in this area for the price. Playing on the iPhone X, everything is small. Like unBEARably small. We can barely see the main character or enemies, or the in-game items for that matter. Not sure why no smart zoom feature was included for the price. A suggestion, wait until this item goes on sale and more time has been invested into the playability and user experience. As it stands, very linear and mindless mechanics paired with a subpar, disconnected visual experience for the price.

Ok so this is one of the best games we’ve ever played on mobile. However, we’ve experienced several crashes that made us lose a lot of progress. Fix the crashing, 5 stars.

This game is an absolute blast! We’ve been playing for hours! The only problem is that itll crash randomly about half an hour in. Please fix! Edit: After the latest update, Im crashing every 5 minutes. Please, Im only half way through the game!!

It has the makings of a great little game, although not in its current state and certainly not for nine dollars. The controls are finicky and unresponsive at best, the upgrades are surprisingly lackluster, your minions are just about useless, and boss fights are more chore than fun and challenging. Wait until this is on sale or until there are some deep changes and improvements.

The game crash a lot, just by playing the game crash pleases fix this.

Im a hard core gamer so we usually like games like these. We used our iPhone SE to play it and we could barley read the words. This game really requires a physical controller our touch screen was not effective at all. It could be a good game but it belongs on a console. It would have more stars if it was a $2 game but we spent $8 and could barley play it. Not worth the time if you dont have a remote.

Something about the left joystick (movement) feels off on the iPhone X to the point where Ill be running in the wrong direction or the character doesnt move at all.

We beat this game a while back, but the monotony of quarantine has brought us back yet again. This game beats all other on the App Store in creativeness, graphics, immersion, and gameplay. We really enjoyed how the currency was a bit hard to come by and needed to be spent wisely. Absolutely worth the money and we sincerely hope there will be more levels added on or a sequel in the future?? All in all an AWESOME game.

This app looks like it has lots of content, but after playing for 15 minutes you are out of missions. We think there is supposed to be more content but nothing is there. Absolutely not worth the money. We cannot believe this app passed the app store review.

This game is a really good way to spend time if youre bored, glad we preordered.

We love a good hack and slash and this is among the best on the App Store. Very, very satisfying to mow down hordes of enemies either alone or with your army. Kudos on this beautiful, fun, and addicting game. Its gonna be staying on our phone. That said, will someone help us? We cant find the last weapon anywhere! Im fully maxed out on everything (72 soldiers and full spirit and health). We cant finish Master Class as a result. Also, we cant make a dent on the final boss. What am we missing?!

There is a pause button to the review that says there isnt. You press the screen with two fingers. Also it is supposed to be punishing you should loose loot and progress and should not be able to leave and jump back in. Awesome game. Big crazy battles running around with an army with crazy guns. Runs smooth. Lets you adjust difficulty and loot amount as well. Love it.

The game is amazing, it has an immersive way of pulling you in to play more and more, but one little touch up that can be made is the fixing of the controls for movement, it works, but isnt as responsive as it can be, awesome game.

Gaming press take note- Barbearian is among the finest iOS games ever released. It takes the simple hack and slash premise to new heights with engaging levels, a well thought through progression system and epic boss battles. One of the best parts of the gameplay is that as you progress, you build up your own army of 70 something soldiers that fight alongside you. Managing, replenishing and upgrading your army is immensely satisfying. We played this game for something like 12 hours straight until we finally 100% it. None of the rewards or gives feel cheap- if you put in the time the game rewards you appropriately. This is a game made with heart- we hope this game sells 5 million copies and that we see more from its creator soon. Lastly, the protagonist is not a bear- its a dude wearing a bear hat. A lot if the reviews out there have gotten that wrong.

The Barbearian definitely quenches our thirst for action! It does so by combining hack n slash action with tactical strategy on an epic scale. Rescuing teammates is a nice feature and upgrading them can give you a strategic advantage. Shops around the forest can also provide pick us ups like that sweet machine gun… So save those slices! Our favorite thing about the game is how the action seems to be governed by strategy. For example: if you run straight into hordes with your knights & archers, you will undoubtedly die. However, we have had some incredible comebacks from near death in games by using archers and flanking. Graphics, arcade music, gameplay, the amount of content, and the fact that this is a premium game makes us very happy! Its what we’ve always wanted. Thank you!!
