"These two apps (Treble Cat & Bass Cat) are excellent for students to practice identifying notes on the staff. It is a great pair of apps to recommend to parents/students to use at home. I love how simple the concept of the game is — even young piano students will be able to independently use this app."

Community Insight:

Very smart graduated program. You don't even realize how deeply you're learning the notes until you're there. Thank you for this very cool assist.

Just getting started with this, but it looks promising and is more engaging than rote memorization. It'd be great if there were also an Alto Cat for young violists.

We love this app. We are hoping that as we get further into it that there will be ledger lines.

Some of the deeper bass clef notes are a bit too quick.. Would appreciate more levels on low low C D E. But a great all around game to brush up on your music reading skills. Please make more! Like how to read chords and stuff would be cool.

We like the app but we purchased it thinking that ear training was included.

Much to our surprise, bass clefs notes are located differently on the music staff then treble clefs notes. Ive read treble clef notation since we were 9. This app is making learning this new language so easy, hats off to the people who made it.Thank you.

This is a great game for reviewing bass clef notes. However, most piano methods teach the bass clef starting at the top of the staff and working their way down. We wish there where a way to review just the notes stepping down from middle C.

This app needs better instructions on how to use it.

We love using this game with our piano students, but we would like a version that starts from the top down. That way it matches up with the order of the notes they learn.

We have been using the bass and treble versions of this app in our piano studio. The kids love it, but we wish there was an advanced level that included bass and treble in the same game. It would have much better direct relation to piano than two rows of treble or two rows of bass.

We love that you can play any level multiple times and each time is different. You can unlock the levels which is nice if you want to skip ahead. We would like to have the option of adjusting the speed in order to increase the challenge. The sound is totally unnecessary and distracting because it has nothing to do with what you are playing, but also it's great that you can play silently without headphones (like if you are in a doctor's waiting room). The words "Level Failed" are discouraging and should be changed to "Try Again", like in Rhythm Cat.

This will certainly help our students with bass clef reading. We just find the app too repetitive.

Our band teacher is making us play this in band class when we only know treble clef and this app is only in bass clef and it really rustles our jimmies.

We just started cello and want to learn the notes also. This app is just what we were looking for. It's not the most exciting, but is more fun then flash cards and really drills the notes into your brain. We are an adult, so the games are fairly easy but fun.

Great app. Learned how to read all the notes in a few hours.

Absolutely worth it! It's charming, clever, and very helpful when learning to read notes on the bass clef or just brushing up after years away from study.

Took us about ten minutes before we were bored. Not recommended.

This was amazing , well put together and so helpful. We play trombone and this helped us sight read our sheet music.
