Fixed increased memory usage that came with the cloud save patch so it should work stable again on devices with 2GB RAM!
For best stability on those devices please try to set to 75% or 50% graphics quality, though.
Sorry for the inconvenience!

Battle Chasers: Nightwar Reviews

This game has been a total blast and many many hours of gameplay. One of our favorite parts is no in app purchases! We promise you if you like any RPG, you will really enjoy this game. Well worth the money!

Theres love here. From the devs, and that we have for the game. Thank you. Game mechanics, writing, graphics… All the basics are masterfully executed here. Meanwhile, the art is gorgeous, the story is engaging, these are real characters, developed remarkably well given the little time they can devote to them. Feels like genuine world building la Tolkien or Potter. Really a tour de force. Tiny issues exist (or existed), that the devs keep coming up with patches for. Well done!

Edit: The recent update messed up the game. It now permanently says it’s on debug mode / preview build. Also icons are in the wrong place. Not sure who tested this update but now we don’t even want to play it. —- Thanks devs for bringing this beautiful game to mobile. Just from the first minutes you know the game is top quality. Worth the cost easily. The battles are really fun, the animations are gorgeous, and the UI was beautifully designed for mobile. We love the use of drag and drop, and also holding down for more info, etc. It has it all. It even has stat tracking which is one of our favorite things in video games which increases replayability. We read that the game is lengthy so it should be worth all the money easily. We can’t wait to play more! With SQE giving up on great premium RPGs like Chaos Rings, this is the best premium RPG on iOS in a long while. Way better than f2p, please support this game!

600+ hrs in the Steam version, so we love this game, but the port has been rough so far and now the latest build loaded the debug mode – which gave us ultimate weapons and the insta kill ability before each and every fight. Really wish we could have played this game without the drama, but guess Ill just get it on Switch Lite to play through again. Youre killin us, Smalls…

Unable to re-create missing item after manufacture Monica Destiny and Destruction Character Talent System Does Not Work.

The devs fixed the crashing issue. We’ve completed 3 dungeons since junk town and havent had an issue since. The game is super fun. Still needs cloud save though.

We just completed the game after 200 awesome hours of play. This is a new age Chrono Trigger with a simple yet exciting battle system with a great pace. We need more. The only problem with this game is now its over. How does one deal with Battle Chasers withdrawal?

The only reason we cant give this five stars is that Im still fighting slimes on the very last area of the map. Make more character models. Otherwise, the game is excellent, just challenging enough, and has amazing depth of development as far as skill unlocks and team combinations. The art and animation are flawless. Its definitely worth the money and guaranteed to keep you occupied for hours and hours. By the way, developers, the time played feature should stop counting when the game is paused. We left it paused over the weekend when we first started, and suddenly it looked like Id been playing for 60 hours.

Im not a mobile gamer by any means. But we will be now. Amazing game!

Wanted to buy this on our Switch, but glad we waited for the mobile port. Solid game besides a few graphical issues.

Even after the most recent update. No matter how we try, the game still crash at deathwatch dungeons. Please fix.

Very much enjoying the game. You will want to run it before getting on a plane. If it is still in memory you can play offline for hours. However if the game checks gamecenter it becomes unplayable offline. Very frustrating for a premium game that has no online components. Fix that and 5 stars easy. No crashes or issues on newer hardware as of yet.

Love the game. Wish the auto save feature kicked in more. The game crashes after a hard boss fight, and we have to replay it again. Or after looting an awesome new epic gear, we proceed to the next room, game crashes in room transition, & lose the loot. Upon returning, its a different piece of gear. Bleh. Frustration is setting in. If we manually save, that quits the game. Upon returning it puts us outside the dungeon and we have to walk back to where we were. Thats lame. Otherwise a solid rpg indeed. On an iPhone 8.

The graphics, sound, and battle mechanics make it fun, but the bugs are annoying to deal with. A lot of graphic blurriness in some dungeons, equipment mysteriously disappearing after equipping, and crashes make it less than fun.

We loved the game when we can play it. Now Ill be in a dungeon and the game will crash. It saves a lot so thats not a problem but this game doesnt save where you are at in the dungeon so every time we have to start over we have to trudge thru the dungeon again. Ill give it a five if we can ever play it long enough.

We really like the games graphics, sound, old school rpg. But force closes alot and makes you do the dungeon progress over and over. And is an online game instead of offline . For a paid game the devs are lucky we do not give less stars! After the update still buggy in the dungeons. Plz fix we love this game and wish to play it more. Unplayable on high graphics, turning down to 50%graphic and it works on our ipad air 2 full gigs, but still alittle choppy.

Constant crashes running on an iPad Pro 9.7. It is an excellent game we truly enjoy on the odd occasion we can play for 30-40 minutes straight. Junktown was a nightmare but the next couple dungeons are almost as bad with the constant crashes. Keep in mind the crashes remain constant even after setting the graphics to the lowest settings, rebooting, and killing all background apps.

We rarely write reviews, but when you pay $10 for a game that constantly crashes, we feel obligated to warn others. First, we really like the game. The art, story, and gameplay is deep. However, the game is constantly crashing on our iPad Pro. We have closed all apps and rebooted, but it doesnt help. We have reached out to the devs for support. Well see if they get back to us. If they can fix this, the game is an easy 5 stars (and Ill update our review). If not, we want our money back because this is just a defective product in its current state.

We went to the collector with a descent amount of artifacts; enough to buy the 14$ and 8$ fish and tackle and at first they showed up in our inventory. We were thrilled because we want to fish to find more artifacts to get good equipment. Then, we go to equip them both and only the tackle is equip-able and the fishing rod we paid 14$artifacts for is suddenly gone… It would be nice of the developers to help a brotha out cause we hustle for the artifacts and before that happened, we were going to give this game 5 stars. Please be good to your customers that pay for your games Sincerely a fan, Dorian.

Ipad air 2 and after playing till junk town, from there crash every 10~15 m even reduce to 50% resolution end up bad graphic already, lol please help fix and test before announce the devices can be play with this game, if we knew we would buy in pc instead.

Twice now this game has changed a higher level item we’ve crafted into the previous item we were wearing. The first time it changed a level 27 Purple chest into the level 24 blue chest we were previously wearing. The second time it changed a legendary sword into the purple one we were using previously. The chest didnt bother us as much as it was easy to make another one, the legendary sword however cannot be made again because of the one off materials. This is very upsetting.

Game is great but it crashes a lot and has caused us to lose weapons through the mystery cube. Some dungeons crash in the same place and we cant finish the dungeon or progress without resetting.

Really enjoy the game but we write this review because after fighting the last arena twice because of game crashes the ultimate weapon for garrison that we made with the mats from the arena it has disappeared. This is extremely disappointing.

We are having a blast playing this game so far, already well worth the price in our opinion. It is much more like a console game than a phone game and has many hours of content. If you like rpgs and want an actual video game with story and character building we highly recommend this one! For the people that complain because it doesnt load fast enough and they want to play it in short bursts since it is a phone game.. Its not that kinda thing. This is a real game that you are going to want to sit and sink some time into.

We really dont leave reviews like this but we seen this on PC some time ago and then it was in the App Store and this is such a good game for mobile! We cant put it down! So much fun!

Graphics are stunning. Mechanics are great. Story is entertaining. Premium games gems are rare. This is one of them. Thank you for that! Our only gripe with it is even if this is the only app we are using on iPad and put iPad to sleep over night, we cant simply continue playing in the morning. And the worse part is when you are in a dungeon, you have to start at the beginning of the dungeon after restart. Even though monsters are already killed, you spend 5 mins walking to the point where you left. ICloud save would be nice as well. Edit: spotted a bug today. Play time displayed is way off. We think game keeps counting time after you closed an iPad till the time iOS offloads app. Ours shows 12hrs, but screen time shows 4hrs.

THANK YOU. FINALLY….A REAL GAME and not just pay to win scheme. We had just about given up on mobile gaming. Developers seem to be 100% focused on cash grab with IAP’s and we believed we’ve played most of the older games that you just pay for once and enjoy. Now this game comes around and it’s a NEW mobile game that has some depth and is complete WITHOUT IAP’s. The game is fun, and it looks incredible. Runs super smooth and is worth every penny. Again… THANK YOU.

This is the closest an RPG has ever come to being as good as Final Fantasy 7. The character development and progression is just amazing. We were hooked after the first few minutes!

Now that the game works on our iPad, we can give it a proper review! /TLDR: Beautiful, well-made game. Buy it, play it, enjoy it, and support developers of non-IAP and non-Freemium games, please! Things we like: + No IAP, thank you for that + Beautiful art, animation, music, and voice-over work + Adjustable difficulty in dungeons (cranking this up made the dungeons much more fun and rewarding) + Intriguing non-player characters + Really fun encounters/puzzles/choices/optional goodies/rewards for exploration and risk-taking + Great ramp-up in mechanics and game play + Re-configurable, on-demand perks give lots of options for experimentation + Randomizing the dungeons provides great replay value + Inventory management and party itemization being acceible from several screens over ring different ways to gauge and evaluate options… Very very nice. Things we find frustrating: – For an iPad, being able to touch the screen and have our character move there would be nice. That, or provide support for game controllers. We get hung up on geometry way too much. – A few bugs to watch out for, such as the random upgrade box reappearing a second time in a dungeon and then never re-appearing, or getting stuck with an incomplete action in dungeon mode and not being able to interact with the environment, necessitating exiting and re-entering dungeon mode… Things like that. – Crafting… Fussy in some ways, including getting access to crafting stations. We did appreciate being able to over-use components as a gap-filler and or upgrade mechanism. That was clever, but getting to the point of having to upgrade the blacksmith twice before being able to use the forge felt silly. Overall, this is a beautiful, well-made game that is more than worth your time if youre looking for an immersive, ARPG-type experience. Very nicely done, team, and thanks for the quick turnaround of the memory issue.

Fantastic port But can you please keep the screen on!? Have to touch screen every 20-30 secs! In this kind of games maybe you want to stay long on an art.

Runs great on iPhone Xs Max.. We believe smoother than the Nintendo Switch!

Loving the game.. Great graphics and sound and while the controls arent bad we were just wondering if yall plan on adding controller support at any point?

Deep RPG with lots of different strategies/group options, crafting, customization, dungeons, and all at a reasonable price in the palm of your hand. So far works flawlessly on our iPhone XR. Well done.

This game is amazing and on mobile its even better. Please, please, work on syncing saves between iOS devices, this is the only thing missing on this great game!

Cant put into words how great this game is. This is what a phone game should be it has just enough of everything to make it feel like a console game and control so well on a phone without being to repetitive. We have not had any technical problems with the game, no crashes or problems what so every and we have put over 20 hours into it already. (Running on iPhone XS Max) Thanks for a great game and keep them coming!!

The developers have confirmed that iCloud is a top priority and that a change in the app icons nomenclature is likely. Nitpicks aside, this fully-fledged premium title has been expertly adapted to iOS. Users can expect to pay once and play for dozens of hours. HandyGames represents the gold standard on iOS, and has continued to raise expectations for the platform with exemplary long-term support and exceptional customer service.

BUT!!! This is the only one we will! Everything is great with this game. Highly recommend.

Turn based RPGs are our favorite games of all time, and this is probably our favorite game now besides Grandia on PS1. It captures all the classic elements except with original characters and a deep sense of adventure. You wont regret picking this up. Its worth double its price.

We love games that charge an upfront price for their content. At $9.99, Battle Chasers seems to be offering tremendous value. The graphics and artistic style are both exceptional. Particular the art and environments which are very well realized. The dungeons seem large and inviting and loot seems to be dolled out generously. Each character has a nice array of abilities but they lack any seeming sort of customization. This could change of course as we’ve only logged a few hours, but sometimes we like breaking character molds and utilizing them in different roles. That doesnt seem to be an option here. Characters seem to have very pronounced utility and denying it would certainly result in defeat. Thats where we start to get into the problems inherent in Battle Chasers. The combat system is fun and flashy but also incredibly slow and calculating. While we appreciate the decisive use of strategy it makes matches long and boring rather than intense and thought provoking. We already know all our characters roles, so we just swap to the character best suited to handle a particular enemy and slowly repeat the same strategy until the battle is over. All battles are lengthy. We dont know if its the animations or the turn based timer but even fighting 3 v 1 takes far too long. Im sure the game is trying to discourage grinding (and thats a good thing!) but choosing to do another loop of world map enemies can easily take an hour, offering very little reward. The story is difficult for us to comment on at this time. So far it couldnt be less exciting but its still early and we hear the game has some serious legs in terms of content, hoping for a plot infusion soon! That being said, voice acting and animation is top notch. Writing seems clever and natural, so often missed in mobile games. Kudos to the team for making believable and well defined character personalities. Battle Chasers cant decide if it wants to be a loot grinder or not. The game treats its dungeons generically (in terms of overall storyline and consequence, you can see this evident it the ability to change dungeon difficulty modes), its characters with depth, and its combat with precision. But precision takes time and in a game that puts pressure on loot collection, every battle feels more like a hurdle than an opportunity for growth. Worth four stars for polish and execution alone, and we love supporting non freemium apps that show up with the content needed to demand the price. Im giving it four stars because we get so bored with it we literally fall asleep or have to force myself to play it in order to see if things get better.

Im playing on a 6s plus and we’ve had no issues. To all the people giving this game one star because it wont work in their iPad, show a little patience (or better yet dont waste your money on an iPad). An update went out today to address the memory issue. Issues aside, this game is easily worth 10 dollars. The graphics, animation, story, crafting, turn-based battle systems are all superb and any fan of classic RPGs will thoroughly enjoy BattleChasers. When we spend 10 dollars, this is the quality of game we expect to get. Its just a shame that games like BattleChasers and Oceanhorn come out so rarely. We find myself mostly replaying games from the Final Fantasy series because so few phone games can match the depth and scale of those console games ported to the IOS. We want to encourage more developers to make games like this. There is a huge fan base for turn-based RPGs, action RPGs and other variations of the like. We would shell out 20 bucks for a game that gives us two solid play-throughs for about 20-40 hours of gameplay. Anyway, well done and thank you.

This game is great but theres no cloud save support cant take our game from iphone to ipad.

Joe Madureira is a talented artist and this game begins with him and the world he has created and the characters populating it. His artwork, turned into a video game looks amazing. The characters themselves and interesting and colorful while also breaking some molds concerning the classes system. For instance, that giant War Golem? Yeah hes the party healer. Be sure to rest frequently at the Inn as you progress through the game. Story scenes between the characters add depth, making the characters feel more fleshed out and explain in more detail the events that took place in the original comic books. However, no knowledge of the comic is required, the game keeps the past in the past for the most part and you can infer the rest. Gameplay is turn based, the order determined by each characters haste stat. What follows in the usual attack, item and special abilities. Using a skill tree system, split into two for each character, you have a lot of room to customize your character and since you can at any time respec your abilities at no cost, feel free to make specific builds for specific fights. A lovely soundtrack, great animations and plenty secrets and things to do, the only reason we took away a star is because it unfortunately kept the most unwanted jRPG system. Only the characters who fight get exp, there is no exp share. Which minds grinding each character to keep up with the rest of the group.

Really great art, decent story, solid dungeon adventuring. It bugs us that only the party you have selected gets experience, but thats a minor thing our only real issue is that the game crashes fairly frequently. Im on an iPhone 8 with current updates and it quits us out often. If that bug gets resolved that would be great.

Cloud saves are included in most if not all games now. Please fix this as moving the saves manually is cumbersome. This is a premium game (thank you for that) and the cloud save should be standard. Other than this over-site we enjoy the game.

Original Review: Bought game to play on iPad but it wont run. Instead, we get a message saying it requires at least 2gb of memory to run and must run on a newer device. We dont know how you can get any newer than the most recent iOS devices. Please fix. Update: After the update was made, we are now able to smoothly play the game. It is epic.

Bought this for our pc when it first came out loved it so we got it for our iPhone 7 Plus. We thought we had wasted 10 bucks because nothing but a black screen for 10 minutes! Was scary but plays just like the pc version.

Only giving 4 stars because we hope the dev would enable cloud saves. I’d love to play on the go on our iPhone and resume at home on our iPad. Other than that, only 1hr worth of play time, but this game has been an absolute delight this far. Quality title so far and no in-app gimmicks? We’re sold. Please add cloud saves. We’re pretty sure we’ll sink dozens of hours into this one.

Seems like a good port and works great with touch controls. Only real complaint is we wish it had cloud saves. Would love to be able to continue our iPad game on our phone when we have a few extra minutes.
