What Makes Battle Slugs Stand Out

Playing Battle Slugs, you take command of a well-trained army of the finest slugs, either green angelic slugs or red devilish slugs (you can decide which, based on what you did last night).

Slug it out across a variety of hexagon-celled playing fields, each with its own sweet spots and bottlenecks, using strategy to claim the most territory and conquer the field. The game includes colorful cartoony graphics, plus changing backgrounds and custom soundtrack music.

Your progress is saved and sent to the Game Center high scores list.

Take on a friend or go up against the cold logic of the CPU on one of three levels of difficulty.

This Casual game offers engaging gameplay and regular updates for mobile players.

Community Insight:

Great game, though very difficult to win. Works on iPod touch 2G.

Other paid apps don't compare. Addictive an worth it.

Our 5 year old loves this game, but it now crashes just after choosing a character.

We like this game. Very challenging, similar to chess.

Like arts after game ) Very funny.

Great game when it works, but crashes constantly.

Do not try this its the worst game ive ever tried!!!!! Jk (just kiding) we love it and its free and downloads really fast come on buy it.

We gave this game 5 stars because you don't have to tilt the phone sideways to play. We hate games that you have to tilt the phone sideways. There are a ton of games that would work just fine with out tilting but still require that.

Very interesting. Together friend & brother.

Tricky to master but lots of fun. Menu could be just a bit more user friendly. Optional post release skins or the ability to custom make boards would be fantastic but not critically needed.

We love this game. Must download.

Although we seem to never be able to beat it this game is a lot of fun.

Great puzzle game. The teams are cute and entertaining. Worth the download.

Strategic training mode or help full hints would be nice. TLC into graphics and sound very enjoyable and well done.

Love the clever music and challenging gameplay. It takes a bit to get the strategy but it's worth the effort.

Like to play but very hard to win. Get discouraged sometimes. Takes sooo long to move from one screen to the next.

We found it is a game that helps you train your logical thoughts with funny cartoons. It is much better than those games which only designed for fun and for the sake of playing.

What a great game! All of you who say "we're not stupid, but we can't get past the first level" obviously are stupid because all you have to do to switch levels is swipe the game board. You begin with level 2 unlocked.

Great graphics and animations! This game supports retina display! Controls are very responsive! The game is very easy to learn! The AI on the easy mode should be… Easier. Needs achievements! Needs an online multiplayer mode with win/loss leaderboards.

Love the game! Really enjoy the challenge of it.

We got this game for free expecting a cheesy, bland game. We were pleasently surprised however as the game is not only supremely addicting and difficult. Maybe we just stink at strategy, but we seem to always lose! We haven't encountered any problems with the app when running it on our Ipod Touch, but it may be because our Ipod isn't very new and only runs iOS 4.2.

The game itself is difficult but so much fun to play! The graphics are cute. The transitions between screens are way too slow, though. Also, the game works fine for a few rounds but then starts to crash. We've had to re-download the game several times. So far it's been worth it but it's getting annoying.

Might get hard enough to discourage some from coming back. We think it's a great game. Retina display looks great. Game loads fast on iphone4s.

We wish the load times were quicker, but that is our only complaint.

Very fun game it keeps you coming back for more… But they should explain the rules on how many spaces one can move… Also it has a long loading time in between cutscenes and levels.. Other than that its awesome.. We love the colors and graphics.

If you are familiar with games like Ataxx or Quadratus, this game is what to expect. The gameplay is similar, but with fancier graphics. Yes, this game is difficult, but we like a challenge. It could use a Pause and Replay button though. And the loading times are too slow. It could use a more understandable transition between levels.

Fun and challenging, too slow to load and we don't understand the flow between games. Should be easier to go to next level and it took us about 10 games played before we found another map. Also would like to see Bluetooth match. Update: too many crashes! Uninstalled and reinstalled as per developers recommendation and lost all progress, and still crashes.

This is a very challenging game on easy our 12year old can't get passed lvl 4. And we can't pass lvl 9.

This game is addicting and keeps us thinking. The load times are looooong and there is no Bluetooth multiplayer. Hopefully those two issue will be resolved soon. Regardless, get it, you won't be sorry.

We love Battle Slugs! The cartoony graphics are cute and funny, and the backgrounds are interesting and detailed. The game is challenging – there are 25 playing fields, and three different levels of play (Easy, Medium, Hard) against the AI. It's a challenging strategy game – we just finished the entire Easy mode and unlocked all 25 playing fields, and it was tough. However, we didn't claim 3/3 stars on all the boards, so we're definitely going back to it, before trying out the Medium/Hard modes. Best of all? There's also a Multiplayer mode. This is definitely a game with replay value, but we have a couple complaints: 1) If we quit mid-game, our progress isn't saved. 2) Loading times are way too slow for an otherwise polished app. Sometimes we make a bad move, and we'd like to restart the board instead of Surrendering, and then having to go through two slow loading pages before we can relaunch the board.

We love games that make you think. This is a really challenging game but after a few wins, you finally get the hang of it.

Love this game but the scenes during loading times are unnecessary and pretty lame, actually. It has also crashed once on us but other than that, it's a great game – addicting.

To change levels, you have to swipe up or down on the level screen.

With better diff levels this could be fun.

The game plays with fine with our iPad 2 iOS 5.1.1. It's not documented well how to move through levels, yet, fun to explore. What we don't like is the way the Pentacle is being used as "Evil" when it's a symbol of Empowerment…not "Evil". Otherwise, it's an interesting strategy game. There are better programs that clone Attaxx than this.

Looks really fun but as everyone else's our game also crashes, right when you think you finally get to play ~ZAP~ crashes! :( we don't want to give it a low star rating because we've yet to play this game). PLEASE UPDATE!!! So we all can play soon! We were hoping the apple update would make it work LOL ( ;.

The app is kind of hard But it looks nice for a puzzle app we need more slugs.

This. Game. Is. Really. Hard. It took us awhile to figure out the main menu too, but that's not a big deal. In conclusion: This. Game. Is. Hard.

Cute game and fun to play. The slow and clunky interface really cuts into enjoyment factor though.

Despite the cartoony feel, this is a serious puzzle game. Don't expect to pick this up and casually plow through levels. We enjoyed the gameplay, and we hope to get better at it. Now it's not all good. We never had any crashes but it's so slow. Add in some really bad navigation flow and we really felt like we were looking at the loading screen more than we were playing.

Looks like a really fun game EXCEPT we can't play on it, as soon as we choose which team we want it crashes! PLEASE FIX.

This crashes way too much. Please fix this.

Fun, but too slow. Takes forever to load.

The good: A truly challenging puzzle game with well drawn illustrations. The bad: Unable to continue playing because it crashes when loading a scenario. Poor UI results in a feeling of unnecessary wait time (no good visual indication that buttons are pressed, thereby making the user press again) and a lack of indicators that point to additional scenarios. This could be resolved through arrows or, better yet, through making additional scenarios slightly visible below or above instead of only one visible at a time.

This game could be really fun as it is, conceptually, a very fun style of game. The problem is that the AI is ridiculous, the UI is one of the worst things we have ever seen in any program, let alone a touch only based game, and the loading times make both of things even more frustrating. For free it is worth the try, but until they fix these MAJOR problems, we cannot recommend paying a penny for this game.

Interesting stradegy game, but slow, clunky interface. Why do we need to click for a coin toss? Waste of time. Poor explanation of game play & ways to advance. Hope updates make it better.

Game play would be good, but load times are long and the interfaces are unintuitive… We are not impressed.

Really want to like this game (art style is fabulous) but the user interface experience is just horrible. Very poorly designed UI flow and It doesn't look/feel responsive. To change a level, you drag up/down (should be left/right for familiarity) and there's no indicator that it changes level that way. In front "menu" (we put quotes on it because for a moment you'd think game is already started,) options button is using "reset/sync" arrows symbol which is very confusing. You'll get a lot of this feeling "should we tap something to go ahead or is that just game loading/thinking?" You're also never quite sure what to do in game (it doesn't explain clearly on how to get to next level.) The loading in this game is also more frequent than what is acceptable for a small game. Ive played over 1,000 iOS games and we've never seen an UIX as bad as this. It's hard to recommend a buy.

Ruined idea of such a great classic logic game. Not intuitive and bulky.

It's ok. Not worth downloading.
