Player Experience Highlights

Community Insight:

We are a player from Chinese mainland. This game is very good, but why can't we download the full version in the country.

We dont know why people are not talking about this. This is the most best game ever.

Im trying to play this game, and it keeps crashing on us, either way its a good game.

Love this game. However, we recently got back into it and it seems to crash sometimes when we try to go to the next turn, which obviously disrupts gameplay.

Ads always pause any audio you have. We get having ads but please dont let ads audio interrupt our audio after every turn.

Dear developer: if two units are on the same square and they are attacked, it seems that the calculation uses the weakest unit to defend, then both units are usually lost. For example, an single archer attacked and defeated a catapult and healthy pikeman in forest. The notification said the catapult lost. Theres no reason the pikeman shouldnt be used as the defender. Please look in to this possible bug, it seems pretty consistent, but doesnt seem to effect cities. Also where is information describing trade routes? Thanks.

Its a great game and really good idea, but The UI is a bit awkward and theres not a whole lot of settings with game customization, However we do have hope for the game if the devs just put a bit more work into it, also a suggestion: If yall can make it so you could not be apart of the game but watch it as a spectator that would be great.

The game is just different enough (more like, uniquely blended) as to not be sure how things work precisely and the compendium doesnt seem to be complete. Like what defensive bonuses are granted by terrain types, or how to transform terrain with engineers. But it seems like a pretty close approx. To Civ2.

Also, please stop with interrupting our music after each turn at the very least.

Can you change how many human players there can be? We used to play with 100 human players just so we could control all of them and play a different way. Now we can only play with 4, can you change that.

When we were playing sinology every time we would bombard a city then try to investigate the city with a diplomat it would crash the game. It didnt crash immediately, but when we tried to move the city menu the game would crash.

Thank you so much it drives us nuts that civilization doesnt take the time to make their game blind friendly. Thank you so much for developing this game. We are thoroughly enjoying reliving our childhood.

We came to this game hoping for a fun recreation of Civ 2. We will say that the developers did recreate the Civ 2 experience very well – which makes sense because this game is based off FreeCiv. But, unfortunately, we must leave a negative review. The UI and controls for this game are extremely clunky and basically make it so its not fun to play. They need to completely redesign the user interface keeping in mind that people are playing this on their phones. Also, we hate that it forces you to use landscape mode on your screen. Anyway, all the buttons on the screen are way too small, and often times its even difficult to distinguish the UI from the game graphics itself. Please put some serious effort into overhauling the UI and general user experience. This game has potential, but right now its a flop for us.

Ive been playing for over a year now. We keep coming back to it for some much needed time pass, and the game always has updates. The rules and units are rebalance, there are more scenarios! Not to mention three games in one! Civ style and Galaxies! Not so into the tank game, though maybe we just havent given it enough time. We take our strategy games real seriously, and this is always an intense, long running challenge. Different tech levels present different strategic needs. And full game play takes days even a week! Superior gaming! Thanks for the great work.

We really enjoy this game but we have some suggestions to makeit better 1. Add a vassal/puppet system, like you pay gold every turn to have a puppet, but in turn you get free units for war (if you call for them and the vassal has enough gold) you can build in the puppets cities still though. 2. The difficulty is too hard, (even for the easiest mode) please try to make it easier. 3. Make it so augmented editor cities can have wonders without culture.

We really love this game. We have spent countless hours playing this game, though we would like to say Id like to see more updates towards the galaxy mode, as it is our favorite game mode.

Hi, we thoroughly enjoy this game and applaud the developers for the detail that went into making this. It definitely provides a lot of opportunities to experiment with different play styles. As a suggestion, we think the game would be even better if it had a vassal or puppet system. Sometimes we wish that we could puppet cities or bring back a civilization that was eliminated without owning the city ourselves. That way you could have colonies or puppet states that you influence (ex. They may pay you a tribute per turn) but dont directly control. This would allow the player to control large parts of the map without necessarily owning everything and increasing their nations unhappiness. We think this would make the game even more entertaining and we would love to see this implemented in the future if possible.

It is not playable on our iPhone 12.

Hi, thank you for this rather faithful recreation of one of our all time favorite games. Ive played this game (civ 1, 2, 3, 4, mobile version, Xbox 360, and now this) for almost 30 years, Im not sure when it came out but we basically played it since day 1. However, even when you set it to novice mode – even as an extremely experienced player – it is incredibly difficult to impossible to play. Cities revolt even when we set luxuries to 40% at like 1000BC, no matter the civ and government. Cities revolt literally the turn you build them, then you have to starve them to end the turn, then the city dies basically the same turn you build it. This is just a fail for a game to be like this. It needs to be tested and played from mid-game to end-game. The tech and city production also seems stunted for many civs we tried. And the old-school-game cheating was a little too reminiscent of the old game. If you could make a civ 3 remake, that would be magical because that is when they really worked out most of the bugs. Thanks again.

Good but when we try to play the tutorial level the game closes.

We still have some Ai meanwhile our archers are fighting helicopters. And 30 swordsman are attempting to stop a Revolution in 1 city and are failing plz fixxxxx.

New Civ looks better and better but the game just gets worse; Civ 2 was always our favorite and this is basically it Theres a couple other games that go along with it, seems to be regular updates making it play better, its a bit crude looking but just in the few weeks Ive been playing there have been several things ironed out so Im not going to bother getting critical Only one thing, not sure if its us or the game, but on Augmented Rules it takes a couple thousand years before we can get 1 Science Bulb/turn going and finally learn to use fire; Kinda kills that mode which intrigues us otherwise :/ Maybe if there was a minimum 1/turn, or maybe Im just doing something wrong.

We love civ2 and this is very close, great job making this game.

Ill make it a five star when you add a zoom option for civilization. And change the ai on novice so its actually novice and not just as hard as the harder modes.

We love every aspect of the game. After play a couple rounds though we started playing around with map making. We soon realized that we couldnt play it. It would be great if you could play your own maps. Other than that, its great.

By far is the best game, we like the idea of the game.

We like it but its hard to play we dont know how to do most stuff it basically just puts you in it it tells you how to do some stuff but not much then you have to figure it out on your own.

The game is really good and addictive once you learn how to play decently but it is really hard the ai is expanding really fast fighting them is really hard + if you can make the turn 25 years as an option in the it would be great.

Dear developer When we first started playing we didnt know how to play, we had to go through trail and error to learn the game, we think if there was a proper tutorial in the game we could easier understand the basic structure of the game. Thank you.

We have nothing to say but it reminds us of the old Sid us its civilization games.

Love the game. Classic. We know its designed for iPad but we dont own one so we just play on our iPhone. It can be a little cumbersome at times in that format. Would love to have this on our laptop.

We see that the update says edit start technology in the map editor, but we cannot find a map editor, how am we supposed to be able to edit start technology? We think a map editor is a good idea, but cannot find it.

Good game, but it takes so long to pass turns.

We really like this game, Ive had it for a few days and its fun. Our only problem with the game is how messy the UI is, but other than that, its great.

We actually kind of like this game but like everyone else said, the ai progresses way too fast. So you should make it show ai progress just as fast as the player. We would also recommend that you increase how many times units can move per turn.

Ive had the game for a few days now, its pretty cool. You get different maps, civilizations and it has some neat controls. But one issue is that their too powerful. Im in the easiest difficulty. Yet they are still more advanced and have more military units. Its really annoying. The one thing we hate the most about the game is that when you discover some or they discover you, your automatically at war. A cease fire is signed but like why am we at war? Its annoying but its a pretty cool game in general. But still if the developers are reading this then please, lower the AI speed and AI advancements. Ive played over 10 times and still havent won in the easiest difficulty against one nation. Another thing is that they expand a lot. So when you have seven cities their gonna have like 20. Its annoying. So please, developers please fix this. Another thing is that you are so dependent on coinage.

We think it would be great if we could terraform the harsh terrain to get better use of them or adding a new resource to make them worth incorporating to our cities and we think you should make it so that the higher in level a city is the more tiles it can incorporate to its influence or get resource from.

It took us some time to actually understand the game. There should be an option that we can choose if we want to play with AI, or just FreePlay by ourselves, so that we can actually win the game. Its kinda difficult to win against the AI, since they grow way faster than the speed of light. Any-who, the game is great, just please give us an option to play alone.

Same game mechanics, but civ 3 executes them better (3 games ago). Just kind of generic.

We think Drones can be addedwhile cruise missles should be capable of being carried by Aegis cruisers.

This is amazing and just what we were looking for. Thank you devs.

This is an amazing game, but we find it really challenging. Its probably just because Im not that good at strategy games, but we made it pretty far on one go but the stupid Russians rained paratroopers on us and bombarded our units from the shore.

Loving this game, all the depth and strategy of the orig Civ 2, with some improvements made on that! More nations to choose from, wonders are modified and there are some new ones. Game crashes all the time but we think (hope) the devs are on it. Mostly seems to occur later in the game. Freights and trading didnt work for us at all, seems broken. Also, in one game the space race just flatout didnt trigger. Few suggestions, we wish you could view your city and see the buildings and wonders like in the orig game. Wish you could zoom on the map and we really, REALLY wish you could raze a city like in the orig game. When we go into conquest mode, im forced to keep the crappy enemy cities and wish we could just opt to destroy them. Otherwise this game is great, nice job.

This app is brilliant! BC4000 is a great game for strategy and geography! It wouldn't hurt kids if they play this game, and for adults, they would enjoy it.

Its a very cool game and fun, we just have some questions though- -No matter what our cities wont go above 7 population due to famine or plague, we dont know why. -our cities are in constant disorder, then we when we try to fix it they get famine or go into debt. – The AI spams units, and we cant figure out how to attack back because of the control zones. -Lastly, we would really like it if there was a discord or something for the game.

Hi, we are BACK! We are the one who we think first commented on your game, and we must say you have improved. Keep up the good work.

We think this would be a good game a fun game a great game if the tutorial was better than just two sentences theres a whole lot of stuff here and we cant even access it because we dont know how to But if you do know how to play it then go ahead because its clear that the devs are working hard on the game.

The game needs to add a section into the encyclopedia where they explain how functions are performed. We dont know how to set up trade routes, also nobody wants to listen to us in any diplomatic relationship even when we have the military to wipe them out in a few turns.

It is a really fun game when you get the hang of it. The only thing we dont know how to do is change the profession of a villager in you city.
