Find out what gamers are saying about Bertram Fiddle: Episode 1: A Dreadly Business:

Great game, reminiscent of the great LucasArts and Sierra games of the 90s. The puzzles were a little easy, but we enjoyed how quickly the story advanced. And this game is not too short for the money. Actually it’s a bargain… $.99! Anybody who says otherwise has no idea what goes into making a game like this. The story was cohesive, the dialogue was interesting and original, the artwork was unique and inspiring, and the sound design was on-point. People pay more for a soda they drink in 5 minutes than this amazingly designed and produced game by an indie studio that probably spent many a late night poring over this thing. Brilliant! Well done. We can’t wait for the next episode.

As others have pointed out this is a witty classic point-and-click game. It’s a little short but a nice warm up for part 2 which is far more substantial!

We adore adventure games & this was definitely an adventure! We love all the cute little animations which keep you very entertained. Looking & searching for objects & putting pieces together was so thrilling!

This game was fun to play but we finished it in less that 2 hours. When does the next episode come out?

A little simple but fun and easy to learn how to use. Very funny and cute, and a little bit naughty.

We looked the artwork, story and humor. The puzzles were good too. This is the rare adventure game that keeps us playing to the finish. Others complained this episode is too short, but we think the length was fine. We hope episode 2 gets produced.

A fun point-and-click with oft funny dialogue and odd world charm!

It’ not as funny, as raunchy, or as tough as Hector (oh how we wish that series would come back), but this is still a very fun and entertaining romp. It is a bit short but still enjoyable The bumbling Fiddle and his quirky companions make this worth the price. Very much looking forward to episode 2.

We really like this game a lot and am very much looking forward to the next chapter.

This is the definition of point and click adventure games. We’ve been playing point and click games since we were about 9. Im 23 now, and have played many p&c games both on PC and iPhone. This one is definitely in our top 5. The artwork, the creativity, the voices, the storyline, the hilarious and witty commentary… Its all awesome. Id be more than willing to pay again for another installment! We’ve played the first and second game already and am currently replaying the first. The only and we mean only issue we faced with this game was a glitch that unfortunately sent us back to the start of the game because we could not get past it. However, we enjoyed this game so much that we didnt mind playing it again to continue the gameplay from where we got stuck. Other than that… Great job to the developers in every single way!!! Im hoping for a 3rd game :)

Very well drawn and interesting story. Puzzles are simple and it’s extremely short. But worth the price.

Very entertaining. Definitely worth it for the story alone. Its short, but we get that its kind of a teaser for part 2. Could have been more challenging though. The solutions are pretty straightforward, and what is with the two running games thrown in? Seemed out of place. Cant wait to play the second part and find out who this Geoff guy really is!

Fun, quirky, and compelling story line. If you love Clue, youll adore this gem!

Loved it! Easy to navigate, good puzzles not too easy, not too hard. Definitely felt a little on the short side. We look forward to the 2nd episode.

Three things, however, game play time is very brief even for the $ .99 that it cost us (as other reviewers here and online say; only about two hours), the several "endless runner" style mini games need a skip button, and the dialog trees are too stunted for a game that relies strongly on "witty" chatter for its player appeal. We feel pretty skeptical about whether to purchase subsequent episodes unless they are substantially beefed up in both quantity and quality of content.

We cant load past the first picture. Like the intro with the helicopter. We bought the bundle so we went ahead and played the 2nd one (which we love) so Im bummed we cant play this one. Maybe its a bug or an update they can help with.

Crashed at the end of the first scene — every time. We even deleted and re-downloaded it, to no avail. (This was on our iPhone. Maybe it works on iPad?)

The storyline is weak, dialog is uninspired, and aspects of Gavins dialog and character are incredibly racist.

Once Bertram and his sidekick are outside, the carrier with the dog is taken and they start chasing the thief. Once we get to the end of the chase the game locks up and all we get is a frozen screen shot and music! We’ve tried playing the game in each provided slot, deleting and reloading all to no avail. Playing on iPad Pro 7.9 with the latest iOS update and more than enough memory. So disappointed.

We really enjoyed this and am looking forward to the next episode. Our only complaint is that it was a little short.

Witty banter, satisfying plot line (although this installment is a bit short), good game play. Enthusiasts of old school point and click games won’t be disappointed.

The siily words, the small details in news papers, everything. Simply amazing. If you like mysteries, comedy, and silly story lines you will LOVE this game!! A simply fantastic "point and click" style game!!! And yes!!! It gets you thinking!!!

We loved this game! So much fun and it was hilarious! We can’t wait for part 2…. Is there going to be one? And when?!?!?!

The story, hilarious dialog, and style are endearing (ignore the noses from the screen shots, you get use to it). It isn’t terribly difficult but that isn’t the point. We highly recommend this game the casual sessions of laughs. And we’re looking forward to the next episode. For the developer, two things that could be better: there’s a touch region that’s hard to tap and easy to miss (the mustache) and we’re not sure we liked the running sequence.

It’s a bit easy but in a good way. Well-crafted and fun- get this right now if you enjoy point and click games with heart. We are eagerly awaiting more we would buy them all up if they were out already!

Great game; fun and entertaining adventure point-n-click style game. Unfortunately, we encountered a bug in the dark tunnel next to the secret garden. When Bertram walks into the dark and automatically retreats back into the light, the game freezes. The only way to get past this bug is to exit the game or app and to restart it; however, the auto-save feature makes it such that upon reloading the saved game, Bertram already is walking into the dark, and we can’t overcome the problem. We now am forced to start an entirely new game. Hope that the developers can fix this; not sure why others haven’t mentioned this bug.

Am we the only one that is having issues with this game? On the screen to start scene 3, the game crashed then sent us back to where we were when we started that day. Now it’s just freezing up & not letting us "touch" anything. We will try to re download & see what happens.

We love a good point and click adventure/puzzle game! While this is not the most challenging game we’ve ever played, it was definitely enough to keep us interested. Funny characters, intriguing plot. Can’t wait for the next episode!!

Hmm, no bugs to speak of. Great game, similar to the Inner World game in cartoon drawings. Great voice overs and generally easy to play. Puzzles aren’t very hard though.

We were very entertained by this game. Had no problems whatsoever, so we were very lucky. We know how much a buggy game can annoy. We played on iPhone 6+.

A fun little puzzle, adventure game, and very humorous.

The narrative was very entertaining and we’ll definitely purchase the next installment, but the puzzles were very simple and the storyline very brief. The game needs much more quality control, too. For example, when the cyclops examines the hole in the second floor of one of the houses, the label ‘inspecthole1’ or the like comes up, instead of what the cyclops is saying. Also, in one attempt to complete the story, we couldn’t get out of the first chapter house because there was no dog bone in the cabinet – another attempt left us without a nose in the street on the second chapter. We did compete the chapters with a fresh attempt using Slot2 (you have three slots to save the game). Otherwise, a delicious story that really has been missing from the iOS store and is much needed.

We’ll get straight to the point. The game has wonderful voice acting, beautiful art, funny and sometimes creepy or disturbing plot points and surprises. We give it four out of five for two reasons: it’s short. Even for a first chapter we completed it in under two hours. The puzzles are also a bit easy if you’re a n adventure gamer.

It’s a good game, but our biggest issue is that it’s on the shorter end. We finished in about two hours. Other than the length it’s great. A great art style overall. Some minor issues with animation but nothing game breaking. Only experienced one bug where the audio was repeated twice but otherwise it ran smoothly and keep in mind we’re playing on an iPad 3. Very funny writing and lots of references. It’s worth the money if nothing else to encourage these types of games compared to bad clones. Can’t wait to see what’s next!

Think of your 4.99 as an investment for the future of the series and this is a fun little adventure game worth the few hours it takes to complete the first episode. Fun character designs, decent animation, good voice acting and a solid story. It’s certainly easy compared to a lot of adventure games, but it was enjoyable and we felt like we got enough value out of it to see potential in the series. We’re looking forward to the next episode, so we suppose that is praise enough.

Its funny and cute, but a tad priceyfor being so short. Im hoping the other episodes will be free updates,or at least get the second episode as a free update. Cant wait to continue the story.

The game was very fun until the third chapter where we had to ride in the buggy from the old creepy guy. It was loading the next chapter when the game crashed, so we had to redo the chapter and when we got to the end there was no buggy and we couldn’t move. The people in the game kept on blinking and swaying but we couldn’t control them none the less. We are hoping this is fixed because we very much liked the game and am hoping we can play more of it.

This game looks great, has a delightful sense of humor, and is a bit more mature than the average adventure game (which we consider a plus). It was too short (beat it in an hour) and the action sequences were lame. Swipe to move up and down to dodge obstacles? It’s like a small and boring piece of an endless runner, and feels like an afterthought so the creators can claim the game has some extra play elements. The game would be better without it and would also be improved by adding a few more complex puzzles. We’ll play the next chapter when it comes out, but they’re going to need to make some improvements to keep us from dropping the series at that point.

Funny game with quirky animation. But the actual gameplay is a bit boring and way too short.

This is a delightful game but not worth the money. Way to short and simple, only about an hour or two of play. Might be worth it if they don’t charge for the next episode but we’re certainly not paying again. Time will tell.

The game is ok. Kind of short for$4.99. The intro price should have been .99 or even 1.99 to get players hooked. If the following episodes are as short and easy as this one,4.99 is much to high. We will most likely try the next episode but if the quality of the game stays the same it will be the last one we buy.

We enjoyed the artwork and portions of the script, but this game is very short and not very challenging. It was equated to Monkey Island, but is not nearly as long, difficult, or inventive. We hope the next installment is less expensive, longer, and way more challenging.

Game has potential but not worth $4.99…..

This game is so full of bugs there is just no fixing it. It freezes and glitches and is super annoying. Otherwise, it has good animation and a good plot.

Got to chapter 3 after a number of patient reboots. Now it’s frozen. Can’t tap on anything or continue the game. Seems like it would be fun otherwise.

We spent 4.99 on a game that we can’t play. First it crashes and then when we went back only one chapter was saved. But it was terribly buggy as to where we couldnt click anything or go anywhere. Then when we replayed up to that point in a different slot and it just froze on us. There seems to be no fixing it Do not waste your money on this unplayable game. At least not until they fix it. It seems to be a good game but we wouldnt know.
