What Makes Beyond the Mountain Stand Out
Peter headed to the hunting lodge, when he suddenly lost his connection to his guide. He is in a forest, with no shelter, no people, and most importantly, no equipment or wilderness survival skills. His lifeline is a communicator to talk with his guide. But somehow, he's been connected to you. Try to figure out what really happened and how to get Peter out of this situation.
- A truly exciting story with lots of unexpected plot twists and a nonlinear storyline.
- There are no artificial pauses. The game goes non-stop and it's up to you to decide when to leave the hero without your attention.
- Find items that will help in your progression. The development of the plot will differ depending on the objects used.
- Sometimes the result depends on chance. The randomness is also affected by the items found and your previous decisions. With a second pass, everything can turn out quite differently.
- In the course of the story you will meet different characters, and only you choose whom to help, with whom to go on a trip, and who is better to keep on distance.
- Some scenarios lead to a successful ending, but do not reveal the whole story. Do you want to explore everything in more detail and understand the very essence of what is happening? Try to complete the game differently.

Beyond is one of the few text games where your decisions truly change the story. Unlike most others, you dont always succeed when making the same decisions. And there is a huge replay factor- 10 possible winning outcomes. The story is dark and intriguing. You quickly realize Peter was set up, but now you need to help him safely get back home. The gameplay is fast- no countdowns while he sleeps. After 3 lives, you must watch a 30 second ad or wait 30 mins to try again. We think paying the $2 to unlock unlimited replays was totally worth the content the writer put in. Our biggest complaint is that sometimes your choices arent considered. For example, whether you choose to hide outside or go into the booth, your next choice (hide/ greet) is written as if you were inside. Our other issue is that items you find dont always matter- the following text may be the same whether or not you have the item. But there are dozens of different things to find, and a path that guarantees your death will reveal a lot more than one that you live through. Its definitely worth downloading.
We think the reason we stoped and dont finish is when we got to the drop point? Caz we couldnt figure out what we were supposed to do caz we tried every option but it simples we havent caz we would die no matter what?! Besides that its REALLY! Great game! There should be more sounds tho, like background sounds even tho u take ur time on making a decision. It would be amazing! If there was art in the background too! It would be unbelievable! If there would be a multiplayer version but it would make sense if it was on a whole different app and perhaps a different story but perhaps same theme? We would love to give ideas but we would ask to at least perks in the would be app if it would exist from our ideas.
Ive played the game over several times, and no matter what we do, we end up dying. The objective shouldnt be so difficult to see. We eventually gave up and uninstalled the game.
If you like this kind of adventure, then go ahead and try it. There was no trouble with choosing different options. The story was creative and well built. We just couldn't handle the bloodlust at the end of 2 'true' endings. Every choice seemed to lead to either the character's death, or the hunters' deaths.
