Community Insight:
Okay so we enjoy this game a lot, the graphics and controls are much better than the original in our opinion. However, there arent a ton of levels, and theres no character customization whatsoever, nor is there a level editor. Its very fun! It just doesnt feel quite finished.
We think that, Bike Baron 2, is pretty well put together as a game. Yet, we just don't find the same charm here in this sequel as we do in the original game. We cannot quite put our finger on what it is that seems so different but something feels missing in this sequel in our opinion. Well, one thing, though not what we mean overall, that is missing, is the awesome level creation feature. One of the most fun aspects that we still enjoy in the original Bike Baron is that it allows users to create their own levels. You're seemingly able to do so with all of the same tools that this developer used to create the first title. Why the level creator was left out of Bike Baron 2 is just a mystery to us and it's an omission that bugs us quite a lot actually. As we said in the beginning, we applaud this developer on building a quality looking sequel to this game series. But, really, we'd have to say that we prefer the original for that something missing that we cannot quite put our finger on and most definitely for the lack of a level creator function in this newest iteration. If the developer would please update, Bike Baron 2, and add a level creator like the first title. Well, that act and decision would go a long way towards making us like this sequel even more and we'd definitely up our rating. Thanks if you'll consider adding a level creator to this newest iteration, for all of the hard work, time and effort put into this game and the original and God bless. Firstly, we loved BB1 one of the best iOS games ever developed (IMO). Ive been watching Mountain Sheep for several years looking for a successor, and/or something new. Sadly, though its nice to continue the BB legacy, Im torn with this one. The controller support doesnt feel native menu navigation doesnt respond at times (though it could be performance related?) and you cannot hide the on-screen controller display and most-of-all we cant seem to find the level editor. And to be clear, if this feature is absent, we think the team should really consider adding it back in. By no means is this a waste, for the price, but its somewhat of a disappointment (for now at least). Ill eagerly change our review if/when these features find love. Mountain Sheep: This wouldve made a great Apple Arcade title and MP (~Excite Bike style) would solidify you a triple-a title in their market. Maybe a Super/Uber Bike Baron follow-up?! ;).
This game should be so much better when considering the first one. The graphics are improved but the way they are laid out makes playing these levels visually confusing requiring far less skill and much more luck. Why? Because its hard to make out what lies ahead. Many perceived obstacles turn out to be part of the foreground or background. Its like a pop up book but because of the speed its a visual mess. Whats worse is that there is no level creator. Thats what made the first game so special. Take it from someone who created several featured levels as well as two that became part of the game. However, we dont see how a level creator can help given the way this game is presented. Lets just hope they make another one that has the fidelity of this game with the layout and level designer of the 1st.
We were pretty quick to buy this, as we were excited to try this on Apple TV. Fun so far on the handful of levels Ive played except two things: 1. On an Apple TV 4K (first gen), its pretty laggy in places. 2. Theres an annoying bug where if we accidentally leave the game (back button too many times), it has no sound when we return to the game. We then have to force quit the game to get the sound to work again.
Maybe theres something we havent understood about the games function, but the game keeps resetting our progress. Its frustrating to come back to a game that youve been playing and enjoying and see that all your progress in the levels is gone. And this has been a repeat issue. These levels are well-designed and enjoyable, but Id like to be able to maintain the progress Ive made.
First off, BB1 was the best game we have ever played. The levels were kept simple and short. However, unlike BB2, BB1 actually had a user level editor. In our opinion, that was the best feature in the game and really was something that had us come back to it in 2025. BB2 on the other hand does NOT have the user level editor. Based off the fact that BB2 has newer, better graphics, physics, and tons of new blocks, the user level editor would be a home run for the game. As much as we hate giving the game such a poor rating, the game has true potential but the levels are much harder, too complex, and does not have a level editor. We tried to dive deeper into finding any information if we would need to beat all the levels first and then be able to edit or if Mountain Sheep would ever add it, but the information was very unclear. Yet again, we mean no hate towards the company or game, its just sad that the fact that the first version they made of the game is better than the second really says something. The game just feels unfinished and we wish that Mountain Sheep would add the user editor. We doubt that there will be another update to add the user level editor since the game is more focused on competitive play and also the last update was about 4 years ago.
Its ok. Could use some improvements, like an editor and a larger amount of levels. Definitely doesnt have the charm like the original Bike Baron.
Graphics are too cluttered, play is too fast, controls are too sensitive. Overall, this has lost a lot of the nuanced simplicity that made the first BB great. Id much rather the devs create new levels for BB1 than spend any more time on this inferior version. Speaking of the devs, where is Mountain Sheep.
The game is great but it keeps resetting our progress which is extremely frustrating please fix this as soon as possible.
We updated to the newest iOS software and Im still getting choppy frame rate. Playing on an iPhone X. Also, gotta say Im a little sad with the sequel. The controls for the first game were super tight and get great. This game the bike feels loose and fast. Doesnt control anything like the first game.
Too hard, if you like a challenge then its great. We you want a game you get frustrated easily not a game for you. We had to uninstall or else we were going to break easy levels are hard, dont want to see medium and hard ones. Going back to bike baron 1.
All the charm and quirkiness of the original is gone. A sequel is supposed to be an iteration of the first. This sequel s all flash and no substance.
The new update has this running perfectly on our XsMax. Thanks for such a quick fix.
The title says it all. Back to the Bike Baron we knew and loved.
IPhone 12 max and game is very laggy even on potato mode.
Im so exited this game is amazing.
Awwwww yea baby! The bike baron is back and better then ever.
