Description
This game is similar to the classic ROOK® card game*.
Compete against the computer in this classic trick-taking game. Bid aggressively for the chance to declare trump. Take tricks with pointers to reach your bid or you’ll get set!
Play with two widely different rule sets (Kentucky Discard or Western Wyoming) or create your own set of rules to play with any of these options that can be on or off:
- Include 1’s worth 15 points
- Low/high/10.5 Blackbird card
- Remove the Blackbird card
- Allow Blackbird card to be played anytime
- Winning bidder leads the first trick
- Red 1 worth 30 points
- Adjustable game winning score
- Bonus for taking most tricks

I feel really bad that multiplayer has been disabled for so long and that so many people just saw a message saying it was "coming soon". I really did intend to fix it well before now. But my life has gotten more busy than it was before and I don’t want to promise it’s coming soon. It is still on my list of things to add. I’d love to have a single device multiplayer mode. I’d love to have it work over bluetooth so you can play with nearby friends when you don’t have an internet connection. And more. Aside from multiplayer, there are still requests to support more variations of the rules that I’d love to implement and many other features. I do plan to add more features. Multiplayer will take some time and I can’t promise when it’s coming. Thanks for your support!

Would like to be able to play doubles.
In playing this it has helped with our memory problem with early Dementia. Thank you it has given m a lot of tricks for Rook & we have enjoyed playing this game.

After having our partner make yet another stupefying move… We had to complain. The partner is waaaaay more conservative Than the opponents, and when the partner does win the bid, all to often they do something ridiculous like not holding a trump card with which to win the nest at the end. This wouldnt be so bad if the computer opponents did it as well… They dont, and Im left with a partner that we used to completely ignore because it was pretty much usless. The partner should at least be as aggressive and as competent as the opponents because currently, it doesnt hold a candle to the opponents… Im still addicted to the game but Id just seen one silly move to many…

All time favorite. We like this cause is so like Rook. Its our dad favorite game and he taught us.
We absolutely LOVE this game and have enjoyed it for many years. With being quarantined, Id LOVE it if we could play this online with the multiplayer option!!!!! Otherwise we have no complaints. Great job!
We payed rook most of our life. This is a great version of the game. We have spent many hours playing.
It would be awesome if you could play via internet or Bluetooth. So someone could play with friends.
Overall works fine couple of suggestions 1. If partner has 11-14, the will play Rook and loose those points vs playing the 11-14 and thus then making the Rook the high trump at 10.5 2. Speaking of which. If you quit game that has started. When staring game back, the trump 10 catches the 10.5 Rook this you instantly loose 30 points. Overall pretty decent game. Good to fill gap between family real card time.
We love that this game has exactly the same rules we grew up playing with our family. We wish multiplayer worked but we enjoy playing it just like it is. Excellent game!
We love this version of Rook its like we place. We hadnt played in a long time, but we tried to play and it wont deal the cards everytime. Anyone else having these issues?????

Blackbird is the most relaxing and enjoyable game. It is a five star game in our personal opinion!!!
During covid 19 pandemic it would be nice to play with loved ones.
Great game! We wish it had multi player or you could play online with others.
Playing this game allows us to do this anytime and not rely on our flaky family to be around. However we think this app needs some QOL. Adjust or allow users to adjust the bidding on NPCs. We’ve had our partner outbid us and set us due to the aggressive AI. Allow NPCs to reveal their hand and say the rest are ours Allow for a no trumps rule that is optional in a custom mode and then when that is called, the bird becomes a 10.5 of red.
We suggest definitely including whether trump should be high or low. Low meaning that now 1,2,3,4,5 are the best cards and 14,13,12 are the word cards. So when trump is called it would be like, for example, low red. If you have the red 1,2,3,4,5. Otherwise its perfect!
Anytime our family gets together we play Rook. The app is not only fun but also makes you a better player. Also lets you make your own rule set. We would like the option to shoot the moon during bidding for the automatic win. Other than that the game is perfect and well deserving of a 5* rating.
What a great game! Fun game. We must say we miss the remote group game option we had in the past.
Growing up this game was one if of our families favorite. The action, planning and excitement are very well done. It allows single player action that we greatly enjoy, multi-player would be great!
Multiplayer option would make this perfect.

We grew up playing rook. We found blackbird and play it all the time! Love it.
Good game but the cards thrown out by your partner and the ones in the lead going first are not correct. Our partner always throws out trump cards early when they shouldnt. Why would the non bidding team lead out with the opponents trump color? Also, our partner always throws out a 1 when leading first even when the other teams makes the bid and color. You NEVER throw out a 1 unless you know if the bidder even has that particular color. Throwing out a 1 when leading almost always loses in this scenario. Erik.

Great game, but the partner is terrible. It feels like its 3 against 1.
We love Rook so this is definitely a fun app to play. Thanks for creating it. HOWEVER, there are major issues with game play that will have you pulling your hair out, namely: YOUR PARTNER WILL NEVER PLAY THE BIRD OR THE 1 SO YOU CAN STOP FISHING FOR THEM. Theyll throw away a 14 to an opponents 1 rather than throw the bird. INFURIATING Im not sure how dealing works, but we go through long stretches where opponents are dealt the bird and high cards in every color. Your opponents will frequently have complementary hands and will frequently point each other. Your partner will sometimes have a complementary hand to yours and may point you, but its much less frequent. Your partner cannot be trusted to bid smartly and will frequently get yall set. Its VERY RARE that opponents behave the same way. Its also a fairly accurate indication of who has the bird since we dont think we’ve ever seen opponents bid above 125 without it. This could all be because we love the game so much and hate losing, but we wish the dealing seemed a little less stacked and our partner played a little more strategically. That being said, thanks for creating this game that we spend WAY too much time playing.

Very fun game. However, their needs to be some changes to Gameplay mechanics. The most obvious is when you throw away a counter to the nest. The bidder has to raise his/her bid. Example: bid – 120, threw away a red and yellow 5. Bid must go up 10 to 130. Also you never play Trump on the first hands. The A.I. Throw Trump every time until everyone is out. You save your highest Trump so you can get the last Trick worth 20 points. There should be an option to play 4-8 players. Partners 2v2, 3v3, and 4v4. If 5 or 7 players then call for your partner. How that works is the bidder calls for the card they need (black bird, or Aces) and that round the bidder and the person they call on are partners. We really hope the developer of this game sees our comment because this game is awesome just needs some quality of life improvements.
The game is just about perfect. We really would enjoy multiplayer! Our family loves this game and would all like to play together.
We love your game its very hard to figure out whos biding though, we cant tell whether Im bidding against an opponent or our partner, it plays will, but doesnt bid to high and we alway get the bid.
Fun game. We like that you can make your own rules and set it like we almost play. Needs support to keep it from locking up while playing on multiplayer mode. ADD THE LITTLE BIRD.
Optimized for iPhone X. Never mind that there are still older iPhones out there. We have 20/20 vision, yet we now have to squint and strain to see it. UPDATE: Quick response to our complaint. Back to five stars.
This game is a lot of fun, but Zeus does not always play good defense and we have to play differently than we would play with a human partner! This causes a lot of missed opportunities to set the opposition, when we could have easily have set bid!
Great app if you love Rook or Bid Wisk youll love this. Wonderful app. If you could program the partner to cut when he does not have the correct color to follow suit, that would make it even a better.
