Dont fall for the mental trap of oh no, 200 pulls for pity, how awful! The gacha rates are quite generous, youll get ~50 pulls per month, and you dont need every character. Just play, pull for who you like, and enjoy their stories, designs, and adorable animations and voice lines. Moving past that the character designs in this game are genuinely some of the best in the entire industry. They dont need to be over-the-top fantastical; they seem like mundane, normal designs at first, but the close you look and get to know them, you see the brilliance in their designs and just how much they ooze personality. Almost every last one is very memorable and lovable, and their animations are unique and creative. If you admire character design and adorable interactions, just have an open mind and play. You wont regret it.

For being a gacha game we really enjoy it. The gacha rates can be a pain like all of them, but we’ve never played one where we love all the characters. None of them feel trash or worthless, they all have cute designs and the story is really enjoyable. We do hope the next part of the story is going to be coming soon. Only complaint we do have is that we didnt get to be there for the bunny Karin event :( Please Nexon do a re-run! We need our fav girl!!

Blue Archives story is so engaging; one of the best a free game can offer! However there are 3 main points that we would like to address. First of all, the app is prone to crashing and instability on occasion. We dont know if its just us or if the game itself is faulty in that regard. Secondly, the way players level up gets kinda boring at 30+. Perhaps remaking the EXP system to account for how many stars the player gets per stage would speed things up. Thirdly, the overall size of the app itself is enormous and this one we actually have a real solution for. Since the game already requires an internet connection to play, we think the best course of action would be to switch to a cloud based systemwhich would allow the team to update the game as many times as they wish without having to take the players resources away. The game is still just exploring the depths of its complexity and this would free it, in our humble opinion. Thanks for taking time to read this review all the way through.

To start off, if you have a 13 series iPhone you will not experience glitches and crashes as other reviews have stated, Ill explain more in detail further into this review. Our account level is 62/85 as of writing this review, so we’ve spent allot of time in this game by this point. The story is way more interesting and complex than we had expected and thats the main reason we have continued playing this game. Each character also has their own relationship story and usually tie into a side story and an event story, so there is ALLOT of content to go through. The music and thematic elements of the game are also phenomenal, even if we didnt play this game we would still be listening to its soundtrack. Heck we listen to it while we play other games, its that good. Gameplay wise, the mechanics start off simple enough but later levels, event challenges, raids, and PvP have more depth and often require careful planning and timing. The game provides this higher difficulty without making it impossible to progress through the main story and main missions provided you meet the level recommendations. There are a multitude of ways to get Pyroxene (the premium currency) for free and while you wont be swimming in characters you can get a decent number of them by saving up and participating in events. Just fulfill most of the daily and weekly Tasks and youll gradually get what you need to progress, and enjoy the story while youre at it. If you like RTS games with good 2D artwork and allot of story to go through, this one is pretty good, it has a few mechanical flaws but we would say the well polished overall experience makes up for them. So As for what we mentioned before, we are playing this on an iPhone 13 series and others who experience glitches and crashes are likely experiencing them due to having older or low-power hardware. We’ve seen some reviews mentioning user devices and, with respect, an iPhone 6s or iPad 3 arent going to run this game well, those devices are close to a decade old now. The game was released two years ago and runs perfectly fine without any issues on a 13 series which was also released two years ago. Some reviews are also a few years old and the game no longer suffers from the same problems it experienced at launch and the year that followed. Point is a number of those 1-3 star reviews have much less to do with the current version of the game and much more to do with hardware and old problems that no longer exist. As long as you are running this on something more recent we doubt youll have any issues.

This game very good but we always got crashed when going in the game so R.I.P our 2k dollar saving money for a new Ipad. Still give a 5 star for game!

Do you like story? Do you like interactions? Cuteness? Seriousness? And maybe sprinkle some overall goofy things? Do you want to have a genially fun time? Did you say yes to all of them? No? Only some? Well then buddy pal this game is for you! Tired of story being behind level walls? None here. Tired of no soul games? Plenty here. Blue Archive has been faithful ever since release and quite royal ever since release! We started playing about 2 months ago and it was a crazy ride for us, loved the story, relationships, and more BA has to offer. You can play for 5 minutes, or 2 hours and you will still be feeling quite happy. Even though crashes do make BA look bad if youre mid battle itll save so no worry on that front. We havent been crashing all that much only like 2 times but that was when we had the game open for more than 30 minutes and yada yada so yeh Honestly just give the game a shot, we came for the story and loved it and thats why Im still here. If you dont like it then there are plenty other Gachas to look at but this is just quite a plump apple from the bunch. Its mostly laid back if youre into that also.

Blue Archive’s strength lies in its story. You as the player take on the role of Sensei, A teacher mysteriously tasked with overseeing the academy city of Kivotos. This city, ruled by the school girl students is in a state of disarray. As Sensei you must aid the girls in everything from their personal troubles to governing treaty deals between rival academies. There is plenty to do from crafting items for your own unique caf that students can enjoy to a ranked PVP mode. The opportunities to find something you like are endless in Blue Archive.

Great game, decent rolls, although it would be nice if players have the option to change servers since our friends are from different regions so we would like to help them out with our characters.

We’ve been playing Gacha for years, back since the Kancolle days, and this by far is our favorite. The art, music, and writing is so immersive and charming and for someone who is quite busy it feels like it respects your time while still allowing you to play for long periods of time if you want. We definitely can see myself playing this game for years to come!

We normally do not review anything, but we saw a lot of negative reviews and needed to cancel at least one of them out. We have been enjoying this game for months now and the story was amazing. Really moved us throughout many moments of it. The music is great and all of the characters are lovable. The gacha system is very forgiving as it is really easy to guarantee any character you want as long as you save your Pyroxenes and play actively. The key phrase is play actively. Im sure many people complaining about the lack of Pyroxenes do not take advantage of all of the sources you can get them throughout the game and outside of it. The developers are very generous with maintenance gifts, codes, and livestream goodies on top of everything already in the game. Just wanted to share our piece,

We’ve been playing for awhile now and we gotta say that we love this game. Anyone who complains about the gacha rates must not play many gachas or just have terrible luck. Do you get every character you want? No. Cause its a gacha. Save indefinitely until you have enough for pity if you truly want someone. We have played a lot of gachas and we personally feel like we’ve been luckier with this game then others. This is one of those mobile games that Ill take breaks from but we always end up coming back to. Lots of story, lots of fun events and the company actually cares about their game and their consumers.

The only gacha game that we really enjoy.

Very good game makes our beng zhou fly.

As sensei we can confirm that the characters are girly pop slay material gworls with w skibidi rizz from Ohio. And also can somebody pls teach Tsurugi to be quiet, shes always disrupting class trying to kiss her gf or whatever.

Nice gamei like every girl in the game XD,but pls unify every girls Chinese name with Japanese sever.

Love everything about the game.

Love the game but the app crashes more often than any app/game we’ve ever had in our life. Incredibly unstable.

One of the best gacha games on the market. It has one of the best, if not the best story in the gacha genre. With interesting side stories, great characters all with their own unique personalities. The only problem we have, which Has even the same problem hurting the game since forever. For iOS atleast, is the crashing it was always a problem but its become game ruining. You cant even load into battle for pvp and etc without the game crashing. Its not a rare thing either it will do it every single time. We’ve literally crashed 5 times in a row trying to enter battle in pvp and etc today.

It gets 3 stars because it keeps crashing but other than that the game is good.

Its fun at first but, later on the app closes on us and we cannot play any stages without it happening. We thought it was because of us using higher quality graphics and the like are responsible but even at its lowest it still closes/crashes the game on us.

Still crashes, and now we cant even log in. Truly the game of all time(this is a cry for help that this login issue gets fixed at some point and hopefully soon.)

We have played a lot of gacha games and most dont stick, but Blue Archive is definitely one we find engaging and worth logging into everyday. The characters are unique and the stories with the different clubs and schools provide a varied experience. For the most part the gameplay looks good and feels good, the chibi versions of the characters in battle is entertaining to watch. Leveling is a grind in itself, Im only about Lvl. 42 when writing this review and it severely limits what missions we can and cant partake in. However, our main and only gripe about Blue Archive is the gacha system. How characters and character fragments are earned is a unique take in the sea of gacha games but also makes leveling up characters painstakingly long and grindy. Some might say we just have extremely bad luck but for example we pulled for a pick up character before the update 135 times, which meant we had 135 recruitment points (you need 200 to pick a 3* pickup character for THAT pickup period). Out of 135 pulls we only managed to pull one 3* around pull 80 and it wasnt the pickup character. And with the way recruitment points work since the new pickup banners are out all 135 of our recruitment points are now crafting materials instead. We definitely had the option to spend real money on premium currency but we elected not to. Our one wish is that recruitment points did not expire, at least every 200 pulls it would be reasonable for players to be able to pick a 3* from a pickup recruitment they would like. Similar to the system NIKKE uses, with the exact same number (200) before you get to pick a current pickup NIKKE. And while we love the current group of students we have in the game, we find myself using a small handful as some are not as useful or powerful as others. Either allowing recruitment points to accrue and remain permanent past pickup periods or making 3* rates better on recruitments would help a lot as obtaining premium currency in the game as a free to play player is very grindy. Love the game and what it has to offer, but definitely one of the more unfulfilling gacha systems we’ve experienced.

Why do we keep showingMaintenance in progress. Closing the app. It’s been going on for several days now.

It alway take us 5m for everytime just to login and the thing we got is crashing ??? What the heck are your developer doing, busy grabbing money and ignore whether your customer can play it or not ???

Our iPhone 6s still plays normally but recently it crashes continuously.

The game always crashed on iPad we cant play the game normally 30seconds a crash we cant bear it.

We wanted to play this game for its story because we have heard good things about it, but the game itself made that impossible for us. The prologue is an hour long and if you close the game at all during it, it skips the whole thing. So, we started out having only seen part of the prologue and having no context for what was going on in the story at all, with no way to replay it. Then immediately it forces you to do some gacha and navigate the abomination that is this games GUI and menus, and then the worst part is when you get to the actual gameplay. The mechanics themselves are fine, probably (I dont exactly know how they work since the game didnt let us play the prologue), but its not optimized at all. Even though its a mobile game, it felt like it would only run on a powerful computer. During the gameplay, there were constant frame drops, stutters, and rubber banding. Its not even playable as a game, let alone as a story for those of us without a concurrent hour or more to spend on a mobile gacha game. We’ve never been this disappointed in a mobile game before, and that is a high bar after Deemo II. Dont play this game.

Fun gameplay, gacha thats not too bad, good story, great characters, amazing music 10/10 would recommend p.s. CUNNYYYYYYYYY.

Really want to give the game a 5/5 but the game keeps crashing after we visit the cafe, and recently, it starts crashing whenever we try to enter a stage. Our device can play games like Genshin with little to no issue but for some reason it cant run this game properly. Please fix this problem because this game has a special place in our heart and we dont want to drop this game because of this game breaking bug.

The only problems are translation issues the rest of the game is fine. We listen to the japanese voice and it doesn’t fit the translations a lot.

We’ve really gotten into Blue Archive much more than Id like to admit, but we havent been able to play for the past few months due to the fact that the game has a crashing addiction. You wanna play a level? Crash. You wanna see your account? Crash. You wanna check your inbox? Crash. You wanna change who you see in the menu? Crash. We shouldnt have to pray that the game doesnt crash every time we press a button. What makes this even more infuriating is that the game takes a good ten minutes to boot up every time you want to play. If there is any way you could reduce the boot-up time, please do so. What Im getting at is that this game has a buttload of potential but itll all fall flat if its so buggy its unplayable. We really hope this gets fixed at some point so we can go back to enjoying this wonderful game.

The game is enjoyable, though it still suffers from instability, usually around updates and events.

Blue Archive is a truly wonderful game with an amazing story and fun characters however it seems with every update the stability of the game drops quite noticeably. With the New Year event re run it has gotten to the point that whenever we attempt to load a combat level the game will always crash after the unit selection screen. This includes the current event missions (Only been able to get through the first story mission), Total Assault, Campaign Missions, and Main Story missions that includes combat. So far we havent tested bountys or commissions but we wouldnt be surprised if they also resulted in a crash. Other parts of the game that we have noticed a decline in stability is the Cafe (May crash when loading it or shortly after exiting it) and long story segments (Will crash at random parts of the story or more commonly right when the To be continued bit pops up ending that bit of the story). From others that we’ve talked to and read from this seems to be a problem with the IOS version of the game. We’ve tried everything that the developer responses here have said and nothing has worked for us sadly. We hope that the dev team sees this along with other reports and can fix this game breaking issue that forces the game to become unplayable. We guess Plana really is too much for the chest to handle Best wishes to the dev team -A concerned Sensei.

Games are good games, but why are they always messing with our mentality? Whenever we enter the game, the login interface always flashes back. It’s useless to try more than ten times. We hope the official can fix it as soon as possible!
