Each bidding system has Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced options, controlling the number of bidding conventions played. Each flavor can be further customized to match your knowledge and skill, you can choose from ~100 bidding conventions.
Adjust your signaling arrangements. Bridge Baron has three generic signaling arrangements. Customize your partner signals, as well as the opponents’.
The ‘i’ button provides guidance about conventions and signals. The robots also play and hint at three levels: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. Check the mid meaning, undo, or claim at any time.

We HAVE PLAYED THIS FOR A LONG TIME AND JUST PAID FOR an upgrade, Now when the hands are dealt the honors show up aS LVD INSTEAD OF KQJA MARY SCHADWINKEL.
We’ve used Bridge Baron for years. It is a great app for learning and/or tuning bridge skills. The problem of not grandfathering those of us who had purchased lifetime versions when they went to a monthly payment mode left us irritated to say the least. The problem has been fixed and we are once again using our favorite bridge app.
We were pleasantly surprised when we downloaded and launched the application to find it had been restored to Purchased! We have used every version of Bridge Baron since BB1! (Where we launched it in DOS by typing BB!)
We’ve enjoyed this game for many years. Its good to be able to play again after the last disastrous update. We are very glad to see you have righted the wrong when you turned an already paid app into subscription only. It would be nice if you also fixed the overlapping cards on iPad when you load game to play against AI (the workaround is to set font size to max, which thankfully iOS 15 lets one do on an app by app basis).
We can not save any changes on our settings on our ipad because we can not see a save button. Thank you.
A few days ago we tried on our iPhone to access the Bridge Baron program that we BOUGHT 2 years ago. Couldnt do it, because Bridge Baron would only allow us in if we subscribed to their pay-monthly new version. Yes, theyre giving us a free month and we can cancel our subscription anytime we want, but that is not the point. We purchased a version of Bridge Baron, and we want to use what we bought. What kind of service takes back what a customer paid for, and tells him he needs to go through the trouble of unsubscribing because they want to force him to pay every month for what he already Bought??!! Months Later: As you might have noticed, the developers and marketing department of Bridge Baron are ignoring complaints from those of us who had previously PURCHASED Bridge Baron and were years later suddenly told to pay $5 a month to use it. Extortion is what it is.
Great app but cant save changes to settings- either bidding conventions or carding. Seems to be long history of this complaint. Pretty important.
This started out as a great program but the last several updates have ruined it. The latest flaw is that we cant save our settings. There isnt a Done or Save button any longer when we edit in weak two settings. Maybe the can bring back version one or two as a new update.
If this gets fixed, this will be a 5 star app! This occurs for every nested setting, however here is one flow of steps to reproduce: 1. Go to Settings 2. In the "Convention Cards" setting, select "North / South" 3. Hit "Edit" next to "Two Over One – Basic" 4. Under "Point Count", click on the displayed option, eg. "Short Suit" 5. Change it to another option, eg. "Long Suit" 6. Back out of the Settings 7. Return to the same place in Settings and see that the "Long Suit" change has not persisted.
The help function states that the user must save settings changes, yet there is no save button. Any changes made are ignored and are not present when we look at settings again. We’ve seen another user list this same problem and the response was that there wasnt a save button. Then how do we made the changes stick?
After months of working, suddenly the face of the cards changed. Queens are now marked with a D, and Jacks with a B. Why did this happen? How can it be corrected?
We purchased Bridge Baron a couple of years ago, and paid in full. Recently the app icon changed to the Gold version and it forces us to take a trial for a version which requires a monthly $5 fee. We cant get the original version back, because the company, Great Games wants more money. Is this legal? Also they have no way to contact them. We’ve emailed them which they acknowledged receiving, and promised to reply to soon, but that was months ago, so they lied.
Can select a bidding system, and it will use that selection going forward. However, edits to options for specific bids within that system will not save. Thus cannot use it for any practice other than declarer play.
UPDATE: 6/26/22: we have corresponded with the developer several times to try to get the three issues delineated below to be addressed. They assured us that they are working on it. However, its been six weeks and no progress whatsoever. There is still no save button when editing conventions. There is still no way to use the app on more than one device because we cant logon to a separate device without purchasing the app anew. There is still no way to do family sharing on our iPhone despite Bridge Barons assertion that it is supported. We’ve gone down to a one star review for what should be a five star app. We hope this can be fixed before our renewal date in a couple weeks. Thanks. ORIGINAL 2-STAR REVIEW: we learned bridge with a Bridge Baron disk about 20 years ago and it was great. Im trying it as an app for the first time to see if we can find a good teaching tool to recommend for our class. The flexibility of being able to utilize different bidding and signaling systems is great. However, we’ve run into the following glitches (and we’ve updated our iPhone to the latest version): 1. No SAVE button on any of the changes we make to any of the Settings. This includes editing the bidding system or defensive signaling. In Help it says to remember to press Save when youre finished editing, but there is no save button anywhere. We can change it to 2/1, but none of the edits we make to the system will stick. 2. There are instructions on how to log in to BB but we cant find a logon screen anywhere. There was no opportunity to do so when we purchased our 1- month free trial and the Help section wasnt helpful at all. Id like to switch from our iPhone to our iPad but have no way to do so without purchasing again. 3. The app says it supports Family Sharing but when we tried to do so on our iPhone, it was not listed as an app that could be shared. We hope the developer can fix these because otherwise its a great program.
We truly do not understand this particular program/developer. We have programmed our preferences numerous times and they are not followed. Our partner is the wildest and most incomprehensive bidder that we have ever had the displeasure of playing with. We can assure you that, if this were a real game, we would be partners for about two or three boards. We suspect that the author of this program has done this purposely because people did not want to subscribe to a program for which they had previously paid. Changing the rules in the middle of the game is not fair and the developer knows that.
No SAVE button to save convention card edits! Support phone # says to email them, and no answer to our emails! Is this app supported anymore? Also app defense is poornever leads the suit we bid!
After paying a premium ($19.99) for the app a few years ago, now the app requires a subscription after a free trial. For as much as we enjoy playing hands of bridge, we refuse to spend $60 a year!
Years ago we bought the gold version of this game and thought it was ours forever. We are now being forced to start paying $4.99 a month to use a program we already paid for. This is extortion and if it isnt illegal it should be.
Old bridge baron was great. Gold version does not display properly running iPad is 15.7.
When are you going to allow people to just use their $20 subscription and stop the nonsense of a trial for six months. We too am going to contact Apple regarding your fraudulent practices (as this is the second time you have done this). Perhaps a class action lawsuit needs to be addressed. As a follow up to your response, this has not been fixed. All you have done is offer a six month free subscription. If we are missing something, please let us know. We are sure many others would like to know as well. Never have we experience such fraud in a game app as this. We purchased the original for myself and our parents and then the gold for all of us. Now you want a monthly fee. Get trumped. NOT HAPPENING. We have paid $80 for both our Mom and we to have the original and last upgrade you pulled out of your hat. This is fraud and we hope you find no one wanting to enjoy any of your games. There are other options and we are sure we will all find great alternatives. If we could give zero stars, we would.
This app lasts for short time, then they come out with a new version, which is the same as the old one, and you have to repurchase. We’ve done this 3 times – same price, same app. Its extortion! Such a rip off.
We paid the subscription fee, downloaded the most recent version and cant save changes. Scrolling down from the top doesnt work. We have an iPhone Pro 14 IOS version 16.1.2. We have been putting up with this bug for years but nothing changes. It is driving us crazy.

We finally found out why our settings no longer work on the gold version we paid for. They simply changed the settings so you would buy the one you have to pay for forever. No thanks!
Its fun to pass the time playing some hands of bridge but the opaque and bizarre bidding and play of the AI ultimately makes this game fall way short of any experienced bridge players expectations.
We bought on the app thinking it was a one time charge. Guess we wasnt paying close enough attention. It is a monthly fee we just found on our Apple account. Almost $5 a month. Not worth it. Need to cancel. But where to go to do that ???
We paid $20 years ago for this app. Then they made us pay an additional $20 a while later. Now they are asking us to an additional $60 per year for the app we bought twice before! DO NOT PURCHASE THIS APP! There are free bridge app that are as good or better.
We purchased this app for life under IBRIDGE then they upgraded to Gold and we had to purchase the app again. Now they are trying to hold the game hostage unless we pay $4.99 a month . We have already invested $49.00 in this. There must be some over site from Apple. This is robbery.
As seems to be the case with many of this companys customers, we paid twice for this app only to find Im now required to pay for a subscription to use it. 2 emails and multiple phone calls to this developer have gone ignored. All we want is to be able to play the version we paid for (twice)!

We previously bought iBridgeBaron (predecessor to Bridge Baron Gold) by the same developer. It stopped working some time ago, but we recently discovered that if you activate Airplane Mode before launching it, it runs just fine. This seems to suggest that the game checks in with the developer at launch and will immediately quit if told to do so by the developer. We find it unacceptable that the developer is trying to deprecate a working game that we bought, in order to get us to buy a subscription to their new version. If youve previously bought iBridgeBaron, do yourself a favor and restore the purchase. It seems to work fine.
We bought this app (twice). On both occasions, it was disabled. Now you have to buy a monthly subscription. This is okay if it is the deal from the beginning, but to disable an app that people have paid for is dishonest.

Convention explanations not available. 4 emails to support since being forced to subscribe has only resulted in one response looking at the problem How many times do you have to be told turning off announce hints does nothing for saving settings? Let us try again. We do not play garbage stayman. We try to turn it off but there is no way to save the change. Why do you continue to tell people there is no save button but scrolling will save changes? NOT TRUE! Please, do you plan on ever fixing the change settings or not? We paid $50 for unlimited access. Now they demand $5/mo to even use the app. Nope. We want a full refund right now or consider yourself sued.

We purchased Bridge Baron a few years ago. Then they announced a new version and made us purchase it a second time. The new version was identical to the previous version. Now they want a monthly subscription fee. Time to move on to a different app.
As a totally blind Bridge player, we very much enjoy the app on desktop. However, the mobile version has a few accessibility issues that are not yet resolved. First and most egregious playing the game with VoiceOver, Apple’s built-in screen reader, is very difficult because the game does not hide our opponent’s cards from VoiceOver. The cards still show up on the table as disabled buttons, and it is very easy to accidentally cheat, and indeed rather hard to avoid doing so. Seconarily, unlike the desktop version, BB mobile does not vocalize bidding and play. It is thus difficult for us to determine what has happened, because we cannot easily tell which cards have been played. The bidding, in fact, is not accessible at all. If these two issues could be resolved our rating would otherwise move up to 4 or 5 stars, as there is clearly a lot this app does well, and we only hope these relatively small changes can be made. We are a longtime user of the desktop app who would like very much to play on mobile as well.
Paid for the original game which was a one time payment to play what was a reasonable game! Now app is not available and was replaced by a monthly subscription app. This is a total rip-off. The new game has to many problems and is not worth the cost.
When playing in tournament mode the screen is too small and we can only see 10 of souths cards. Unable to bid.
We have been playing BridgeBaronGold for a long time. The new version does not work well on iPad. Cannot change settings. Will be half way through changes and it shuts down or just tap the info button and it shuts down. Sometimes the program will open but there are not hands just the directions showing at the table. Very frustrating and certainly not a program that we are willing to pay for.
We have purchased several versions of Bridge Baron over the years, and have enjoyed playing, nearly every day. But we are one of those who has no interest in playing live on-line games. We do not wish to pay monthly for that feature, and we see no other way to continue to use the product that we paid for previously other than to subscribe to an unwanted service. If that is restored, we will gladly reload the app, but we see the direction that the developers are going, and theyve left us, and apparently many others behind.
We’ve been using bridge baron for YEARS.. Probably 20. We originally purchased the disc and loaded it, then the Olde app. Never had a problem. The 35th anniversary app is buggy, shuts down, no cards, just cant count on it. Very very disappointed. Thankful that we didnt delete the old version yet Still terrible.. We’ve had to delete and reinstall a few times.. Settings wont load. Settings cant be accessed, nor can cards. Just awful So, we were then we told u now need to buy the app, never to be charged again. We did. Now years later, Im told we need to have a subscription. Bye bridge baron. Hello bbo.
In some ways this game is improved. But, it crashes frequently. Im thinking of canceling our subscription.
We paid the 19$ for lifetime access and now they switch to a 4.99 monthly subscription to gain access. This was a decent app that we’ve been very happy with. They should keep PLAIN bridgebaron out there and allow folks to upgrade to bridgebaron PLUS if they want to pay for a monthly subscription. But now that Im being FORCED to pay an additional monthly subscription, we feel cheated. Very frustrating.
The new features are not wanted by all. No way to just say No Thank You.

Weve played the IPhone version of bridge Barron for many years. Then 1 week ago, with no real notice, you replaced the version weve enjoyed with a subscription version that forces a monthly payment. With no option to retain the older version of the application. So very disappointed in that decision. Youve lost a long time customer.
