This app matches our learning style perfectly. Lots of repetition with clear, immediate feedback. The first lesson was free. We bought the second lesson and it was well-worth the money. We will be buying more.
We are a beginner and we like the way the lessons are organized and the practice exercises. We like how the answers are explained.
Excellent. Exercise after exercise until it becomes second nature to the player.
Patty is an excellent teacher. Her instructions are clear. The exercises are very helpful. We review them often.
You can get most of this stuff for free online. The only part we like is that it gives you repeated problems to practice. You can still find bridge problems online, but they arent very good at enforcing a specific skill. (As far as we know.) Basically, Im saying that if youre a beginner, you might as well get this app and do the first workbook, but dont pay for any more of them. You probably can just look at the titles and Google them. Ill give this a 3 star. PS: developers, if youre reading this, 9 dollars for each workbook isnt really fair. Maybe if they were 3 bucks each, with a value pack of like $20, we might buy them. Maybe make the first ones cheaper and make them get more expensive as they go along. But $80 bucks for the whole thing aint gonna cut it.
Very well organized. Excellent tool for reviewing bridge basics and developing analytical judgment in bidding sequences. We wish their were more workbooks because this is the best tool we have found to learn to play bridge quickly. If you want to go back, simply delete the app and reinstall. These workbooks are much less expensive than buying bridge books and more effective than taking classes.
We downloaded this months ago and just recently started using it. It’s so much fun we wish I’d started using it sooner. It’s a great review and refresher. Makes you think and provides the right amount of challenge. Love it.
So glad we discovered this app. It is well-organized, very detailed, works perfectly on the iPad. The bidding is broken down into sections, each one building on the other. We have found no other site to offer this much practice. Reasonably priced and super convenient. We’ll be purchasing more.
We tried the first 2 workbooks. We wanted to brush up on bidding after not playing for many years and found this app to be an excellent tool. Things are kept simple and explanations are clear. We liked being able to file the items we missed so we could review them later.
Just a fantastic way to isolate your bridge practice to a specific concept. We have no idea what the user is talking about who gave it 1 star. Nothing said by that reviewer was accurate. Definitely try this product if you want to improve your bridge game!!
We can not open workbooks that we have purchased. We try to open a workbook then app shuts down. We reported it and tho they responded right away our problem is not solved.
Entirely too expensive! This is a nice idea but hardly unique. Every slight addition to the training material is grossly overpriced. Such price gouging is an insult. Greed of such gigantic proportion is disgusting. Goodbye! Deleted from our iPad! Readers beware! Robbery!
The exercises did not support the point counts listed, and the cards are listed low to high instead of high to low. Would not even consider purchasing from Whirlwind. We’ll stick to Bridge Baron for sure. Don’t waste your time with this one.
This app works only in portrait. We usually delete these immediately, but we hoped a purchased workbook would be worth the inconvenience, not to mention the high price. It isn’t worth either. 80 hands to bid and a few pages of thin explanation. When you get to hand 80, you are congratulated and directed to buy the next $9 workbook. No thanks. Want to review hand number 1? Why, sure. Just press the back arrow 79 times. You fooled us once. Never again.
We love whirlwind bridge! You can learn from the tutorial and then practice on hundreds of drills. It’s a great way to practice. It’s helping us learn and play!!!

A wonderful supplement to Bridge Baron. Having exercises which are targeted topically allows you to master a concept in a way practice with dealt hands never will. Heartily recommend all workbooks. They are tremendously helpful even for a seasoned player.
