Campfire Cooking Reviews

Thank you for creating this game we Love it anyone thinking of purchasing it go for it its an A 1 puzzle game.

Its a really fun game at first until you get to World three its just suffering.

Fun and challenging puzzles great game.

We love the game but we are having a glitch where our game is zoomed in and we dont know how to fix it.

We rarely ever write reviews unless games are exceptionally terrible or exceptionally excellent… This one falls in the EXCELLENT category!!! A wonderful little casual puzzle game. This game has so many major and minute details that are the core components of what makes a great casual puzzler for iOS. Absolutely worth the price, despite being a little more steep than the average game. As always, you get what you pay for. The puzzles are challenging but not unforgiving. There is no hand-holding, so you are going to really think on some of these; this is not just a mindless casual or puzzle game. The game has simple mechanics at first and always has a straightforward objective: cook your food without burning it. As you go through the game, new mechanics are introduced at each of the 8 chapters. Each chapter contains up to 15 unique puzzles. When a new mechanic is introduced, there is no explanation for how it is used, but the first level or two where the new mechanic is introduced is simple enough that you get a basic understanding of its function. Figuring out how each new mechanic works and mastering each ones capabilities add to the challenge. This game was challenging, but never made us want to quit or rip off our hair. There were definitely some puzzles that were challenging enough that we had to take a break and come back to them later. Plus, if you ever get totally stuck and it seems hopeless, the creator of the game has made YouTube videos to show the solution to each puzzle (but wheres the fun in that?!) This game does something clever and innovative too, regarding getting stuck. After completing 10 or so of the 15 levels, the next chapter, full of another 15 levels, will unlock. So even if you get stumped, you can always keep playing and then come back to the other puzzles after a break. The graphics are wonderful and easy to look at. Its not exceptional, but it is great as far as an iOS game goes. The graphics are not going to drain your battery like a lot of other games out there. The sounds and music are par: neither exceptionally great, or exceptionally bad. Each chapter has its own soundtrack to go with it, and some thought, effort, and care was put into creating them. The music was great for a casual iOS game. The controls are not the best, but they are not abysmal. As far as how the game works, we cant really imagine a better way to implement the necessary controls. It can be a little frustrating though to swipe multiple times to get it to do what you want. The controls dont really matter much though, as there is an undo button that you can use as much as you want. The undo button can memorize every move you make, so you can go back as far as you wish.

Congratulations for a great game, please keep it updated and make more like it.

Great game. Well done. Beautiful graphics. Challenging but not impossible. Our one complaint is that the controls drive us crazy. Luckily it is easy to go back a move but there are times it will take us 5 tries to get the stick to swing from side to side (90 degree rotation). It becomes so Cris frustrating that we quit the game and well this time Im writing a review. We’ve had an iPad since the iPad one and never struggled with controls before now.

UI elements are cut off… The game is just zoomed in too far. Otherwise seems like a fun game.

Puzzles are not easy not hard. Turning controlling is not good. Sometimes you have too try many times to make a stick change into the right direction. Based on the puzzle moving the box, this game is worth to try.

To the reviewer saying this is a ripoff "sausage roll", the idea may be similar but the puzzle mechanics and execution are vastly different. Kudos to the dev for presenting something fresh. The puzzles are not simple but not infuriating either. We spend a couple of minutes with each panel and each leaves us satisfied. Wish there were more panel though!

This is top shelf stuff. The level of challenge is just right for a casual game. We rarely became frustrated with the puzzles but theyre tricky enough to give you a sense of accomplishment (or relief) when you figure them out. The graphics are clean and attractive. Dont expect much from the storyline. Theres not even a story, just some genial interludes between puzzles. The controls are generally excellent, although it can be frustrating to rotate the skewers at certain parts of the screen, like the upper left. You have to hold your finger at juuuust the right spot. We like that the graphics are BIG and easy to tap. On an iPad you could probably play this wearing boxing gloves.

So many wonderful design decisions in this game: From not being able to expose the same part of the marshmallow to the fire twice, to skewers with different movement types, to various obstacles in and around the board, to the charming meta-lines from the characters sitting around a campfire discussing life and puzzling activities we look forward to the talented Layton Hawkes next game!

We like the concept of this game and we can see myself spending a lot of time on it. But one thing that is already so annoying just 15 minutes in is that on iPhone X we keep accidentally swiping to go home when Im trying to rotate a wooden stick. Not sure how to fix this. Edit: the latest update fixed our issue. Adjusted review to 5 stars partially due to the fix, but mostly due to the developer communication and engagement with the users.

Its a fun game but its just too hard. We know thats the point… But at least give us hints. It takes everything in us not to throw our phone at the wall until we finally give in and look up how to do it on YouTube. Please please please consider putting in some kind of hints. That would make the game even better.

Looks beautiful on the iPhone X. Gameplay is 5/5. Got nothing bad to say about this game. Would recommend.

Its fun and very pretty – well done. Puzzles are perhaps too easy for the serious puzzler, but the cut scenes make it worth the time in. Loved it.

Superb and polished premium puzzle game. Each level has new twists and turns, and the gameplay makes you think. Edit: Once you purchase Campfire Cooking, you don’t have to pay to use it on another device of yours. Campfire Cooking received the gold award from the most reputable site in the U.K., so the other reviewer is full of …. Don’t understand why someone would write a fake review.

A total ripoff of one of the greatestif not the greatestpuzzle games ever made: Stevens Sausage Roll. Campfire is a fine experience, but boy is it troubling how much of a copy it is. Get creative, make something new.
