From a village to an empire
You start off with a small Celtic village in the green lands of Gaul. But do not get fooled – the beautiful land is anything but peaceful and the war is coming. This game is entertaining, but since yesterday Ive been having trouble logging in. Ive checked our connection, and it works fine. Ive messaged the support team and have not yet received a reply since yesterday. What is happening? Edit: we've deleted, reinstalled, and deleted again, because this game is just straight up pay to win. Sure, speed up your progress of building and research and recruiting. But then you can refill your resources with just a couple thousand coins. Yet the most ridiculous mechanic is the ability to purchase villages on the map, which will be taken advantage of by people with enough money in their wallets. Stay away from this and any other game made by this developer. They're really after your money.
We thoroughly enjoy this game, we started slow before we realized you can get resources from tasks and we never knew you can raid AI villages with just a single slinger early game. We only learned how to play the game after we looked it up and found a wiki article. Thats another issue, theres ZERO help from outside sources. People in the game dont answer, theres no wiki page, theres no discord, theres not even a Q&A. Thats not to say they dont provide info tabs when you click the we but we spent hours trying to learn how to get horse drawn carriages and cant find anything online.
We honestly really like the game, it captures the expand to survive, one theme in addition you could pursue is samurai following the exact same mechanics or a really good option is the colonial America or something like that.
We have been playing for several years,we loved it. But as our village count rose, the speed slowed down. Now we have to sit thru many Loading…… Messages, either when we try to rename a village, scroll down, or mass recruit. We really enjoy it, but the speed is getting us frustrated.
We like to route this game we can play it better.
We think there are only 10 active players. Sure they all play 30 alts but this game is dead. Sad they developers let this happen.
This game has a long history. It is complex and takes a very long time to build up to workable levels. After 6 years of playing this game and seeing many people come and go, it seems to us like the old timers have the responsibility to take care of the game. The management of the game is nonexistent at best. If you have troubles because of glitches or foul players, you can expect no help from them, its the old timers that will help. In fact management seems to make the game more difficult in order to save themselves from reporting server problems. Sweeping issues under the rug and hoping people keep using the service is a horrible way of running a business. Ever hear of the customer is always right? If the customer is talking to a wall it would have the same effect as complaining to the management. Your on your own unless you can make friends in a very suspicious game.
Used to play back during the old graphics, and quit before the new ones. Came back a year after that and had to quit due to our personal life. Well we joined back a month ago or so, and we have to say the community seems more toxic than ever. Definitely a turn off for any new comers or old heads returning and relearning the game. With such toxic people, its hard to love this game anymore.

We do not know what this game is like because at the tutorial it was stuck on the girl talking and we could not train troops.New people if your thinking to instal this game please listen to us.

We downloaded this game hoping for a good and imaginative and fun MORPG. We got it! Along with a great sound effect variety in theme and with the constant village background sound effects along with the great variety of Celtic music. This game really makes for interesting play. Its also very blind accessible. Fun for cited and blind alike. Try it out.
So, we want to like this game, but there are weird little annoyances which bring it down from a 4 or 5 star rating. First off, every time you do something, the game has to refresh or reload, and not just the normal refresh you see in other games. It's like the whole game refreshes within iOS. It was okay at first, but has become annoying to the point that it slows down gameplay noticeably. Also, screen orientation is off. You have to hold the iPhone / iPad one specific way, as the screen won't reorient to how you're holding it. Also, it's quite confusing trying to figure out what level your buildings are without clicking on each one individually as well as figuring out what each one does as they're not labeled. It's just not very user friendly or intuitive. Good concept though, just needs some work making things easier on the player.

We like the concept of the game; but the way it was put together isn't good. If you have a loading popup every 2 seconds, it takes quite a bit away from the game. Sorry.
Kinda liked it a first but at the end it is a great game if you want to make all the other players experience terrible.
It's a good game but we think you should fix the lag and add some music. The game is kinda plain. Overall the game is pretty good.
This game is the best! It will challenge your strategic and tactical abilities in many ways. It's multi-faceted: be a fighter, be a farmer, be a spy, be anything you want. For once a truly "free" game you can play to the hilt with or without spending money.

This is incredible! It has so many good elements we don't even know where to begin. It's interesting, challenging, educational and frustratingly addictive all in one. We would like a few more music tracks, simply because the current ones keep getting stuck in our head. By far our favorite thing about this app is the level of accessibility. We're totally blind, so finding voiceover-friendly iOS games is a struggle. There's a slight lag when you're at the main village screen, but otherwise we have no complaints. Keep up the good work :).
It used to be a great game but major modifications have changed that.
This game used to be fun. The devastating ruined it when they made it pay to win. You can do everything with money in this game. DO NOT PLAY UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED TO PAY HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS. It wouldn't be so bad if it were like clash of clans pay-to-win. In this game, if someone who spends money doesnt want you to play anymore, guess what, they take all of your villages using troops they payed for with real money, sent from villages they captured using potions(in game payed currency). You can get everything you want in this game with money, and without it your not even able to compete. On their new 'battle server' the pay to win players are dominating. The normal players are just ants to them. Let us go into more detail on just what they can do. In this game you start off with a single village. You grow that one village up until your big enough to capture another. Then you can build up your two villages. Or, instead of building up and taking the time, you can spend like $15 and get your second village instantly. Now, this is also a pvp game, and not your normal pvp, where you lose completely and it doesn't really affect your game too much. You can capture other players villages too, resources provided. Heck, you can capture them all! If you lose all your villages you start all over again at the beginning with one village. It could take you months to catch up again, even if they decided to leave you alone. Or they can just continue to take your one village. Now we dont mind losing, as long as it was a fair fight, and he beat us strategically. But what happens, is one player, can spend a few hundred dollars, get all troops and resources he needs instantly, and then attack you and reset you. If you don't get the point of this review by now, than play the game and see for yourself. But don't say you weren't warned. Find out like the thousands of people who stopped playing the game because of this. Developers, your app will be dead soon. It won't be long before your non-pay to win players realize there isn't a point to play anymore and just delete the app. Then your pay to win players get bored and stop too. We hope you make some changes that aren't focused on making you more money, and soon.
This game looked to be another clash of clans knockoff, but when we downloaded it, and started to explore it, we realized this was a thousand times better. First off, there are multiple servers you can play on, and on each server there are about thirty powerful tribes. These tribes are constantly making alliances, non aggression pacts, dodging all out war, and getting wiped right off the map by an alliance of tribes that were more powerful than they. This game really is good, and the battles, while cant be seen in real time, are fought with hundreds of thousands of troops, and usually end with one tribe biting the dust, anyway, it truly is worth it, we would recommend it.
Awesome just please keep up the good work, to improve this Celtic masterpiece.
We stopped playing for a year and a half to focus on other thing and now the games different to point we don't want to play.
We've been playing the game for 3 years. The new updates give players who don't play with LOTS of real money a huge disadvantage. It's really difficult to raise enough silver to capture a new village with the new exchange rates. However players willing to drop $100s or $1,000s into the game can annex a new village every day. Don't play this game unless you are rich. And our visually impaired friends are really struggling with the new updates.
This game is great but it has a lot of bugs and the creators got greedier.
Cannot open the app at all. Goes to the home screen and crashes.
Seems a bit "cartoon-ish". We prefer the original graphic content. Village layout specifically. In-game functionality seems improved and makes it easier to maneuever/toggle between villages. Overall 4 out of 5 stars; there is always need for improvement.
We've had a lot of fun playing the previous versions of this game. But the latest updates have given it a much more cartoonish look and made it less distinctive from other games in the genre.
The app itself seems to work find and is interesting to play. However, as with many like these the creators have gone money hungry and have made it impossible to keep up unless you buy their potions at ridiculous rates, even during the sale events. We will continue to play for a while but soon will not be able to keep up and, as with many we know, will leave this for some other not quite as expensive.
The new look and game mechanics is not good….too cartoonish and a clash of clans knockoff….earning silver is way too slow and will result in people leaving the game, not in buying potions.
The upgrade is good but potions are now too expensive.
The recent big upgrade has changed so much of the game that it almost feels like we're playing L&K versus CT. The change in exchange rates is horrible. You've managed to alienate most of the people who wont or can't afford to pay for potions, which also have increased in price! Your recent explanation of why some of the recent changes were made is a joke, you changed things so that people would build their villages a certain way. Are you trying to create a game full of zombies, all just doing the same exact thing? All in all these changes point to one reason alone and that is so that if people want to build up villages any faster than a snail's pace, they have to spend money to do it! We used to loved this game and now we're just contemplating wether we'll even continue to play it.
This was a great and fun at until the latest update. Everything is now geared toward making you buy the potions. Whereas before you would get a boost by using the plastic, now it is a must if you want to succeed. A great game got ruined by the developers greed.
Graphics cool, fortress cool but doubling the exchange rate for silver is not cool.
This game was good back when it had those nice realistic graphics instead of this crappy cartoon clash of clans crap. Please change it back.
Although the new update has some interesting features such as fortresses they have slowed down getting resources and silver so much that the game is just about unplayable. Rebuilding troops takes do long battles get to be impossible and your silver return is so bad it's is hard to build up anything or capture other villages. The designers better do something because most long time players are talking about quitting and that was already a problem before this update.
This game was really fun until the new update. Now we hate it. Probably going to stop playing.

The massive rewrite released last week took a nice clean interface and replaced it with garbage. The game is about unplayable. The price increases are ridiculous. The Game takes too long to load and too long to execute game actions. We are incredibly disappointed with the changes.
The new changes to the game are destroying the game. We have played Celtic Tribes for like 3 years and am not happy at all with the new changes. We are not the only one. Everyone in the game is very displeased now. It will probably make many quit the game. We hope the makers take this into consideration and fix this. The date is November 15, 2015. Signed Mccolloch.
We have been playing this game for over a year and loved it until this latest upgrade. They've cut the exchange rate you get for resources to silver, it costs more resources to build or train troops and, the siege weapons and fortresses are not available on USA4 which is the server we're on. The graphics look like cartoons or they're trying to make it look like Clash of Clans which we despised. As much as we hate to say it, if these issues are not resolved soon, we will stop playing this too. It's a shame because it's the only game of its kind where we lasted over a year. We usually get frustrated by constant attacks of foraging for food. We didn't get that here.
Slowed game down to snails craw, really who wants to craw. Graphics great if your a two or three year old.merchant no need to even use that in game anymore. Taking other villages. Update made it very difficult to get silver to do so. Do not play this game. Run from it, no it's so slow all you have to do is walk from it. Reminds us when New Coke came out and they got rid of Classic coke. Not good.Great job if they tried to destroy the game, well done. Only thing we liked is the flying fish. Lol.
We have played this game since Nov 2014 on the USA-4 server. It was an ok game, but with v5.0 game play has come to a screeching halt. Switching between villages takes several seconds, not cool if you have 300 of them. Wars already took long to play out, with the v5.0 update defense gets even more advantage, getting enough silver to conquer opponents now takes forever, defeat your opponents by boring them to dead, this version certainly helps, many have just quit to move on to more exciting games. Hell, watching the grass grow on your lawn is more exciting.
The game overall is amazing but the newest update ruined the way silver and copper each now cast twice as much to make unless you get a fortress which on the lower worlds is impossible making the whole game experience worse we'd give 5 stars for the game but 1 star for this dumb update. We like the fortress idea but the villages suffer because of it :(.
This game was great and very competitive in the 2 plus years we've played the the genius who wanted designed the new update screwed it up. It is now the most cartoonist and in strategy game on the market. Great job guys and girls on a complete failure.
