Everyday Im on our phone just playing this game! Its so fun.
This game works well as a companion to the original chef wars. This game lacks playable substance and therefore has been misnamed. Chef quizor tap a chefwould have been more appropriate. Its predecessor had more thought put into it. It had a story and actual food battles with competing chefs. You needed the right ingredients, the right recipe for the location and region you are competing in. We especially thought the annual cheffy award ceremonies were very cleverly integrated into the story and game play. Theres more going on in the predecessor. Theres more challenge. This is bland and dry. Like we said a functioning companion app with a brain tease, but not much of a game.
About the difficulty: -yes theres an online community for help but the quizzes are way too difficult to do without looking online, which takes away from the fun of figuring out the answers yourself -there arent a lot of quests to keep us motivated to play Some bugs that need fixing: -searching for recipes page needs fixing. When we click on the ? Button to pull up a list of categories, the bottom ones cant be clicked on. Also, if we decide that we dont want to click on a category after opening the page, theres no back button so the page is left open obstructing our view of our recipes. Not super user friendly: -searching for recipes is not easy. The categories are given by the type of dish, but since the goal is to send chefs to different areas, we want to search by the country of origin for our recipes. The recipe search engine isnt configured to do that. With all that said, we were a really big fan of the original chef wars game so Im still giving this a solid 3. We hope the chef war journeys team makes some improvements and additions to this game.
Im sorry we love the original game but some how not this one but thats just us we lobe the original one.
With the new update, it is now easier to invent and discover new recipes. Its an awesome transitional game into their original ChefWars game where theres limited ingredients and no real guide other than a percentage for possibility and high risk in wasting ingredients. The quizzes are fun and challenging. We wish there was a way to categorize the recipes by country when sending the chefs on their travel instead of by type. Every time we open the app, it asks us to log in to our Apple account, which we dont quite understand since Im already logged in on our phone. Looking forward to seeing more updates! We definitely appreciate how the developers are listening to the community~ we would recommend this game for casual players who love food and collecting-style games.
It seems to freeze and not respond during the tutorial for us.
