This is one of the best food/cooking games Ive played. Unfortunately the developers abandoned it. You can earn gems offline but you cant spend them – so no extra recipe slots or 3rd traits :( But if you want to play on super hard mode, youll learn so much about regional cuisine and geography.
We love this game, absolutely adore it. We keep coming back every few years to play it. We love the story and the characters, the art style is adorable and everything is just so fun. Its a pretty punish free system if you fail a level. WHAT USED TO BE our only issue with this game is when it crashes. Normally we dont care- we dont loose much. Until Im at the cheffy awards. First year in game, we were invited to the awards and we won French hero. Early in game thats a huge boost to your resources, between the cash and the fame. But it crashed during the awards and we lost our win. It didnt restart the day either, it counted the awards day but didnt count our win. :/ Not a huge deal but after happened repeatedly, it gets extremely frustrating. Yes we realize this game hasnt been updated in like 5 years but stilllll. Its part of the reason we stop playing every time. But what we thought was an Internet issue at the time was an issue with the game. You cannot connect to the internet- which means no saving, no buying gems or anything gem related. Seems like no problem at first. Except you need gems to unlock trait 3 for chefs, unlocking new recipe slots, learning old recipes back, stuff like that <.< it makes the game super difficult to progress anymore. Why did the devs abandon such a gem.
Chef Wars is likePokemon with a cooking theme. A competitive cooking RPG was definitely an idea that would've worked and this studio showed it could work and be a ton of fun. The only issue is with the connecting to an account. That's been busted for months now and we can't sign into an account. We'd like to keep our progress and gems. It worked when we played the game a while back and on Android.
Ive enjoyed this game for a while now. Its a great time killer. And Ive learned some information about famous world dishes./ Im unable to connect to our account. Please help.
We genuinely cant get enough of this game; our only complaint is that it doesnt have a sequel.
We LOVE LOVE LOVE this game we open this up at least once weekly, Ive done this for the last 5 years Ive started our account multiple times spent $$$ at one point we had all the purchasable chefs with all their slots but that data is gone, we DONT MIND BECAUSE we LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS GAME!!! We even re-purchased now fb synch is gone, fine lets start the account again, now iCloud backup is gone. :( we wouldnt mind paying $$ for an off the cloud version of this app!!! Just dont leave.
You know how sometimes when you're a kid you accidentally delete an app and you can't find it anywhere so for the next 6 years of your life you always try finding it and get really sad even though you only remember one thing about the game and then one day you find the "purchases" part in the app store and you scroll through yours but then you see that familiar logo and you realize it's the app you've been searching for since you had a conscience and you start crying.
Our girlfriend and we play this all the time :).
Love this game so much, just downloaded it again. Please make an update soon and add new events.

Hi developers!! This game is so amazing! Theres something so comfy about it! Ive been wanting to get in touch for a while now since the ios has changed in the past 4 years significantly – The developer website crashes when we go to visit it, so im writing a review instead we started playing this game in 2017/2018, & have always come back to it- especially around the holidays. Back then, we had the iPhone SE (5), & the game fit our screen completely up until February of 2019; we got the iPhone XS Max, & we noticed then how the game wouldnt fit the screen completely, & we thought that it was fine because Apple had just came out with ios like that.. But now its 2021 going on 2022, & ive gotten a new phone recently- iPhone 13 mini. Reminds us of the iPhone SE we had, but the screen is still the same as our past phone. Our point here is: we are in love with this game. Its like home to us. Seeing that the last update this game has gotten is 2 years ago, we just want to know if there is anyway we can possibly help with the development of this game. & As a long time fan, im asking that Chef Wars can be updated on, please. The other journey version is cool, but we never could get quite into it like we did with this one. We have put money into this game over the years, & id love to put more when we have a paying job. Another thing is, we have been trying to get into our old account, but since theres no reset password button/ reset email/user, ive failed trying to figure out our old password. We hope this reaches through to yall, this game remains close to our heart. Thank you.
We were shocked to find out this game is as unknown as it is. This is by far the most in-depth free mobile game Ive ever played – the recipe system is enormous and exciting and the storyline is surprisingly good – love the open world – even the NPC banter is genuinely interesting – in-app purchases are present but not suffocating and the game is very playable for free. Yall really need to invest in some advertising because this game is excellent and could be incredibly popular.
We have been wanting a cooking game that isnt time management or filling orders. Its actually about the food! We love it.
This cooking game is sweet and charming with lots of amazing moments. The game has no adds besides one for the sequel game to this game. Its a game full of fun for all ages. The only negative we have is the game can be rather challenging and its easy to get frustrated while playing.
We did not expect this gamethis free gameto be this detailed (the characters and their quirks, the multitude of recipes, the pleasing art style) and we cant stop playing because of that! To anyone considering downloading this game: its very creative and practically a hidden gem on the App Store. We cant count the amount of times we lost track of time playing this.

Ive played this game on and off for a few years and we love it but it wont let us connect to the internet or servers on this playthrough so we cant use our gems to unlock anymore recipe slots Ive done everything on our end to fix the issue but it seems to be an error on the app side.
The game is very fun and we played this for such a long time. But now for some reason the game tells us that Im not connected to the internet even though we clearly am. Our saved data was lost and we essentially had to restart, this time without being able to use gems either. Its still very fun playing this offline, but we wish this can get fixed so we can get back all the chefs and dishes we already had, and so we can use gems again.
We love this game, however, recently it has been unable to connect to the internet. We cannot access our save data or buy any gems for the game. The game is entirely still playable in offline mode, however, if you want to experience a really fun game. We do love this game and am okay playing it offline. The internet bug, however, should be addressed if you are interested in playing this game. ~ That being said, your save data will be saved locally, but if you ever delete the app, you cant get it back, and that a few heroes, costumes, or other things, are locked behind a paywall that is not accessible. We still highly recommend this title. We hope that someday they update this game and give it new recipes, features, and most importantly, reinstate the games connection.
Hello we are connected to the internet but we are having a hard time connecting to the server. But other than that this is a good game.
Ive been enjoying this game quite a lot however, we have been spending lots of gems to expand our chefs cooking slots but the process hasnt gone through. Is there anything we can do to get our gems back or fix our slot.
About 1 year ago, we played this game and it was really fun for the most part. The art is good and the way to battle/collect dishes are very fun too. (Although, we hope there will be an update to the artwork because if it looks a year ago, itll look so nice in the future) The performance is what is quite mediocre. The loading is a bit choppy and it feels a bit off. Could you please add an update? This game was so much fun but we ended up deleting it because it didnt feel as new as it did.
We saved up gems from boss fights in order to buy a chef through the gem tab at the top of the screen. We finally reached thirty gems and bought a chef, but the chef isnt showing up in our chef section, it only shows the main character. It took us a week to save that many gems, and now its wasted. What do we do now.
We just wanted to say we have been obsessed with the game! We really enjoy grinding to unlock all the characters and recipes. The only downside for us is that we paid to unlock Tubs only to find out later that we cant recruit him because the limit is 10 chefs. We think it would be really cool if the game would increase its chef capacity so that we can pull up the chefs instead of recruiting them and then dismissing them and then having to find them and recruit them again which is a hassle. Also if you could increase the recipe capacity that would really make the game more convenient and easier to pull up recipes for the tags we need. Overall, we really enjoy the game and we cant wait to unlock all the recipes. Thank you.
We attempted to use 5 gems to get another recipe slot for Jiro only to have the game eat the gems and NOT give us the slot! After not playing this game for a while only to have this happen, its highly infuriating and SO disappointing.
We really like the game. We play it before we leave our house in the morning, mostly. We do, however, have a lot of trouble with our sense of direction, so we basically walk in random directions. Even if it didnt teleport you, It would be nice to flag areas so an arrow would appear to lead you there. Also, we dont like the strangely named characters.
We love this game so many recipes to discover and so many places to go also.
Great game and best emulates the feel of cooking competitions and anime of any game Ive played. Lots to do, and we feel like Im always growing.
We really enjoy playing this game because we feel like we are actually learning new types of foods from other regions. We are a big fan of RPG and strategy adventure games, but also food/cooking, so this game really has grown on us lol we have already beaten the game once, and have continued to play again, because it seems like there are just endless recipes to learn. The support team for this game is very helpful, also. We had an issue a while back regarding our login plus gems, and they were super helpful & responsive. Thanks for making such an awesome + addicting game.
Okay when we saw this game we knew it was for us we love cooking so chef wars is perfect for us we also love creative things to make and you know we just hap to leave a rewview to explain how good this game is we dont know if we can ever delete this game we just like it soooooooo much well thats all. We have pretty much have to say.
Really enjoying this game, but has been freezing constantly with this latest update. Also, would love a way to know on the map if towns have been visited or not.

This game has had us addicted for the past week, and we must say it is quite a fun game. Of course, there are a few minor issues. One thing is that we wish that the chefs available for gems were also obtainable in a location, such as the Russian general, who is only available with gems although he should be in Moscow. Also, the game has been crashing for us recently. It can be infuriating because it always happens after we win a battle. Finally, we're not sure if it makes sense for there to only be staples in cities. If anything there would be more rare ingredients. But other than that it is a good game, and you clearly care more about your players than most games do, this is the only game we've seen that has the developers actually responding instead of using an automated response. Thanks for your time.
Wow Im addicted to this game we really love cooking even though Im 12 but our family doesnt think we have the power 1 day after getting this game it inspired us and we beat our family competition so thank you you inspired us.
EDIT: Since we only now got notified of the developer responding, Id like to say that we got an iPhone SE for Christmas and since then the game has worked fine :) Thank you for the response, even if Im several months late seeing it lol we thought this was really cute but we're stuck on the tutorial because without fail, the game crashes before it can finish. We can even get to the very end but when it tries to load up the next section, it will crash then and the game makes us re-do the tutorial. We have a 4S, and while we know it's outdated our operating system should still handle this. We like the artwork and the concept, we just wish we could enjoy the actual game :(.

New: so our gem problem has been magically solved but now whenever we battle the game freezes. No money rewards, no fame, no moving. We reload the game and it still doesnt register that Ive completed a battle. Sometimes after reloading we can do one battle but then it crashes again. Sigh.
Even though its got iap they arent needed to win. We wish there was something thats not gems that we could do to support them. Buying currency doesnt sit right with us. We would pay $5 for a full game. Maybe Quality of life features like scrollable map, stuff that keeps locations and a better recipe organizer.
We played a lot of this game and this is really amazing how the game is very detail, both in map and varieties of cooking recipe. Amazing music, cool game play, very relaxing.

We love this game – such an original concept! The only thing that is stopping us from leaving five stars is that it crashes very often after a boss battle, preview battle, or mission. We'll win the battle and then it crashes from the loading screen. It gets to be upsetting when it happens almost every time, especially if we've finally beat the boss or finally won a common ingredient instead of a staple. We know you're looking to fix this in the next update – just adding our voice. Thank you for developing this game! ETA: Changed to five stars! Your update, along with us downloading the most recent iOS, has made this a game we can play for hours without fear of crashing.
This is a super cute game. The artists clearly put some love into these characters. The map is really interesting and has a lot of interesting facts put in. Its totally possible to do well in this game without ever buying gems which is awesome! We wish you could see the dish description when youre picking dishes in a competition. Id like to look at the description for potential tags.
The joy of discovering new recipes and leveling up current recipes is amazing! The characters are all so charming and the storyline is intriguing. We cant believe such a detailed amazing game is FREE.
So, we're loving the game right now. A few things we'd like to see, though: possibly a way to pin recipes to the crafting menu and a way to pin individual cities would be awesome. Other than that, we're having a ton of fun.
