Chinese checkers is a board game that can be played by two, three, four, or six people, playing individually or with partners. The game is a modern and simplified variation of Halma. The objective is to be first to race one’s pieces across the hexagram-shaped game board into "home" – the corner of the star opposite one’s starting corner – using single-step moves or moves which jump over other pieces. Others keep playing to establish 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and last place finishers. The game involves some strategy but is popular even among young children.
A basic strategy is to find the longest hopping path that leads closest to, or immediately into, "home" – the destination star point at the opposite side of the board. (Multiple-jump moves are obviously faster to relocate pieces than step-by-step moves.) Since either player can make use of any hopping ‘ladder’ or ‘chain’ created, more advanced strategy involves hindering an opposing player, in addition to helping oneself find jumps across the board. Of equal importance are the players’ strategies for emptying and filling their starting and home corners. Games between experts are rarely decided by more than a couple of moves.
Differing numbers of players result in different game layouts. Each layout imposes a different best-game strategy. For example, if a player’s "home" or destination corner is empty (not an opponent’s starting corner), the player can freely arrange his/her pieces to serve as a ‘ladder’ or ‘bridge’ between the two opposite ends. But if a player’s opponent occupies the home destination corner, the player might be better advised to play a "waiting game" until all pieces have moved out.

This update is horrible! PLEASE FIX!,
We used to play this all the time. Since the update a couple weeks ago, the game says the servers are full and connection failed. Please fix this. We miss playing Chinese Checkers!
This app touts itself as an online Chinese checkers game. It DOES NOT go online. It can only be played by the individual against the computer. We have read other reviews that mentioned of how the app once went online until an update prevented them from doing so. We have NEVER been online with this app.
Just tapped into the game app to play today, and noticed the game was totally revamped. We lost all of our stats and coins. We could only play offline. When trying to click platform, we get a connection failed, server full message. The old version allowed you to connect online easily, and keep your profile and stats. The new format looks clean, but please fix the online platform issues and the opportunity to start a new profile again.
Turned off the Fast Paced option but we still had less and less time to make moves, to the point where it played for us. Awful.
Need to have more local player feature.
Local 2 player settings does not work anymore.
Whoever thought he latest changes were good needs their heads examined! This used to be our favorite game but now it feels infantile. You have to wait forever to take your turn and the lights around the triangle drive us nuts. If it didn’t take so long to work through all the added graphics we would still play this but who has time to just sit and wait for this? Please go back to the previous version!
Please reinstate the previous version with toggles indicating Rational, Master, Radical, etc. The newest version is quite bad, slow, and not challenging or fun. Actually it’s quite infantile.
This update ruined the game. We can’t play the new one. It’s obnoxious, and as another review stated "infantile". We also think the size of the board is smaller. Too bad. We really liked the previous version. Deleting this one.
We have had it for a long time n love it BUT in the last upgrade we have this annoying blue triangle. There should be an option for that. We use our iPad. TY!

We love this app and we always play it! But sometimes adds come in the middle of the game! Also all the computer opponent characters are practically masters except Dull! But overall the app is awesome!
A nice version, but the computer makes illegal jumps all over the place.
We enjoy playing as family or against the computer opponents. The Dull opponent can interfere with the flow of the game. And, the ads are annoying, but you tend to not notice them after a while. All in all, it’s fun to play.
It’s relaxing and soothing but just wish the rules were more descriptive.
The game is ok but the pop-up ads are annoying, especially sometimes they disrupt the playing. Hope there is an option to remove the ads, such as paying $1 to get ads free. Also near the end of the game, the computer AI needs to be improved. Sometimes it can take a jump and a move to finish the game, but the computer components choose three moves (one extra unnecessary move).
We played the single mode which puts computer generated players on the board. No problem, except when you’re done, you always have to wait for for their "rational" player to finish, at a snail pace. It goes around the board and that player makes a move. Since all other players are finished, it keeps going to each player then passes them until "rational" makes another turn and so on. Ugh, we just close the game when we’re done and have to start again.
This game does not follow the rules of the original game. The way the marbles jump makes no sense and is not regulation. We like the multiplayer option but deleted the game as the unorthodox jumping makes strategy impossible.
Running on an iPad 1 using iOS 5. This used to be a good game, but we’ve noticed since we reinstalled it that it no longer functions correctly. Pieces make multiple moves at a time, for example, jumping over non-existent pieces. Granted, it does it for both our pieces and the computer’s pieces, but it shouldn’t do it for any piece.
We tried playing with our gf and it wouldn’t let us quit when some random person decided to play against us. Terrible! We don’t want to have to wait until the game is over before we can quit a match! Time is money and this app is a waste.
This is just what we were looking for to sharpen our skills! Love it!

Some players take way too long to move. It’s very annoying when that happens.
Really good game. Sharpen your skills. Addicting though, so clear your schedule for a 1\2 hour. If you’re like us you have to come in 2 at the least. Keep it moving till u get it. Happy game playing.

Cheat stupid improved game. The oruginal was fine, the new one is disgusting!
Since reviews don’t sort by date on our phone it is extremely difficult to know how good the game is. The first most helpful review is from 6 months ago. That being said it gets one star from us for the annoying nag screens popping up for you to download the developers other stuff! Fremium apps mostly stink as this one does!
It gets intense once you really get into it and know what your doing.
Love the simple board, love the customization of each player, fast play or traditional, hints or no hints, and our cat loves watching it too!
The settings for your opponents are "dull" or "master ninja of Chinese checkers"- not much in between. Also, when you touch the board, it "bounces" which gets extremely annoying rather quickly.
Love the game but the push notifications are annoying. Had to disable them under settings.
